During the Obon period, I visited the restaurant for lunch and was told there was a 1.5 hour wait after checking in. So, I went to the Starbucks inside Tsutaya bookstore nearby to have tea and waited for the restaurant's call. The restaurant had only a few seats, so I understood why it would take some time. I came to the restaurant because I wanted to eat their omurice, so I ordered it! When I spooned open the egg on top, a fluffy and creamy egg came out, and the omurice was delicious! The rice was also very tasty, and it was worth the 1.5-hour wait ☺️♡

Omelette rice for 1300 yen, float for 300 yen. It looks amazing! I thought it might just be about the appearance, but it was also incredibly delicious. I finally visited the cafe "me" in Okazaki, Kyoto, where the disciple of Cafe You in East Ginza, Tokyo, works! The cute omelette rice figure at the register is featured on the magazine cover. The combination of my favorite wobbly omelette rice and cream soda is the best!! It was not crowded on Friday evening, but a few people came in later. I tried the limited edition yuzu honey cream soda ☺️ It has a sweet and sour taste that makes you feel like summer, and the ice cream with vanilla beans is rich! I also want to try the vibrant colors next time ♥️ This quality set only costs 1500 yen! I found a new favorite place and want to visit again with my friends!

Last time I came to Kyoto, I went to Ginza to eat the famous omurice with a light heart, but ended up waiting for 3 hours! I panicked and went back. Today, I arrived at 11:10 with the hope that it would be calmer. Amazingly, I was able to be seated right away! This way, I can make good use of my time. I ordered and paid on the first floor, then went up to the second floor for my seat. The omurice came with a drink, but I decided to add a soda float set for an extra charge. When I got to the second floor, there were a few empty seats at the counter, but only one table was available. It was so nostalgic! It had an Invader game seat! Before the omurice arrived, I ended up spending 1000 yen on the game! I didn't do anything silly like that! About 15 minutes later, the omurice arrived. Wow, it's so jiggly! It shakes a lot just by trying to place it on the table! This must be delicious! The ketchup is written as "me." Even if you don't know that, the way the ketchup is placed looks stylish. First, the creamy omelette is delicious. This is professional work! It said "topped with cheese," but does it even have cheese in this state? It tastes like it does. It's delicious when combined with the ketchup rice, but each has a strong flavor, so the slightly lighter ketchup rice is more to my liking. However, this place is not about appearance but about how well it's cooked, and it's delicious. It seems that this place in Ginza is not trying to adapt to the current era, so it would be rude to have any misconceptions. The soda float is as expected! Next time, I'll go for a normal drink and the Neapolitan.

It seems that the fluffy and creamy omurice at this Showa-style café is popular. When I arrived at 11 am, there was already a line... I was seated at 12:30 pm. I stopped by the gyoza festival at Okazaki Park and visited Heian Shrine before returning at 12:30 pm. As someone else had mentioned in their review, there was no apology for the wait, just a mention that they operate on a 60-minute time limit. Isn't 1200 yen for a drink and omurice a bit expensive?! I wish they had included a small salad...

This is the second branch of Kissaten YOU in Ginza. I ordered the Ginza omelette rice and cream soda (passion fruit). The Ginza omelette rice was fluffy and soft, and very delicious. The omelette part was sweet with plenty of butter, but the rice was spicy with a good balance of pepper.

We arrived at our destination at Okazaki Park! This café is actually a sister store of the popular Tokyo Ginza café "Kissa you," known for its wobbly omelet rice, called "Kissa me." The owner, who honed his omelet rice skills at "Kissa you" last July 2022, opened this place. I've always wanted to visit this sister store of the Showa retro café. The first floor is for ordering and payment, and once you're done, you'll be guided to the second-floor seating area. Chibitsunu: "The interior is super retro! The background music is Showa era songs." And the table we were guided to was an Invader game table! Chibitsunu: "Tsunukochan, how lucky!" Of course, we ordered the famous Ginza omelet rice for 1200 yen. It looks so pretty. It says "me" in ketchup. When you shake the plate, the egg wobbles! The set drink options include coffee (iced/hot), Coca-Cola, tea (iced/hot), ginger ale, orange juice, and oolong tea. I chose iced coffee. When you cut into the egg with a spoon, the semi-soft egg flows out smoothly. The ketchup rice has simple ingredients like onions and bacon. The rice is firm, and the black pepper adds a nice touch, making it delicious. Chibitsunu had the pudding for 450 yen. The visual is amazing, and the pudding is delicious, but I also like the firmer type of pudding. The popular soda float can't be ordered separately. When you order a food menu item, you can add a soda float for an additional 300 yen. The color variations are so many! Strawberry (red), orange (vermilion), melon (green), grape (purple), pink grape (pink), blue curacao (blue), passion fruit (yellow). I chose blue curacao (blue). I got a nice picture. I was also interested in the teppan Napolitan on the menu. If I have the chance to come back, I'll order the Napolitan and soda float set! This is a must-visit place for delicious fluffy omurice in Kyoto, Higashiyama. Café me @kissa_me8. I went there during the New Year, but didn't get to post about it. In Tokyo's Ginza, you can only eat the fluffy omurice from Café you here in Kansai. After visiting the rabbit shrine in Higashiyama, Okazaki Shrine, I arrived at 12:30, but there was a 2-hour wait, so I left and came back at 14:30. I was seated at a corner sofa table with a retro vibe and a TV game table like Space Invaders, which made me happy. I ordered the Ginza Omurice for 1,200 yen with an additional 100 yen for cheese, and a cream soda for 300 yen. The menu only offers omurice and naporitan. The fluffy egg omurice had "me" written on it with ketchup. The inside was creamy with cheese, giving it a rich flavor. The ketchup chicken rice was surprisingly delicious as well. I liked the omurice at Kissaten YOU so I went to their sister store. It was delicious, but I still prefer the omurice at Kissaten YOU. You have to write down your name and phone number at the register, and they will call you when it's your turn. They also tell you the approximate wait time when you write your name. You can explore the area without waiting in line, which is good. The seating capacity was surprisingly small. The omurice had a very fluffy and loose egg, maybe a bit too loose. It had a hint of butter. The ketchup tasted a bit different too. At Kissaten YOU, they mix two types of ketchup (if I remember correctly), and the balance of acidity and umami was really good. In the end, I think I'll go out of my way to eat at Kissaten YOU.

The recent retro boom of Showa era is unprecedented. I love the omurice at Kissaten YOU, but lately the line has been getting longer and it's hard to find the motivation to go there, except for takeout. While looking for a place to eat during my trip to Kyoto, I came across this Kissaten me, run by someone who trained at YOU, on Instagram! Since YOU is nearby, I thought it might be fate and decided to visit both you and me. The line wasn't as long as YOU, but I was prepared to wait when I visited on a Sunday evening and there were about 2 groups ahead of me. Plus, this place will call you when a table is ready so you can wait nearby. Before wandering around Heian Jingu, I stopped by Tsutaya Bookstore and got a call. I only had to wait about 10 minutes before they told me the table was ready. You order on the first floor and pay upfront. The omurice comes with a drink just like at YOU, but you can switch it to cream soda for an additional 300 yen, which is great! There are 5-6 colorful variations of cream soda to choose from, making it a tough decision. I ordered the omurice and strawberry cream soda and went up to the second floor. The interior was like an old-fashioned coffee shop, with the shop's logo neon sign glowing. The BGM, of course, was from the Showa era, with nostalgic songs by idols like Seiko Matsuda playing. The staff seemed quite young though. The ice cream in the cream soda was rich vanilla with just the right amount, and the syrup and soda created a beautiful gradient. It tasted great even without stirring too much, although it got quite strong towards the end. The remaining vanilla ice cream melted and transformed into a cute strawberry milk color! The omurice was, as expected, the same taste as YOU!! The crispy ketchup rice is quite to my liking. There's no chicken in it, but the onions and bacon bring out the flavor without making it greasy, providing a delicious taste that doesn't get boring. And that bouncy, elastic omelette! When you break it with a spoon, the fluffy egg melts and comes out. The combination of this ketchup rice and omelette is truly exquisite. The ketchup on top is rumored to spell out "me". On the last night of my trip to Kyoto, I was able to taste nostalgic flavors and enjoy the retro atmosphere, ending my journey feeling like I had traveled back to the Showa era.

Today, I went to "Kissa me" near Okazaki Park♪ It's located about 7-8 minutes from Higashiyama Station☆ It's a popular new cafe, affiliated with "YOU" in Ginza 4-chome☆ I ordered the "Ginza Omelette Rice Set (@1200)" and a "Float (@300) with Strawberry and Cheese Topping (+100)". The omelette rice was beautifully presented, just like at YOU! It was smooth and creamy, with a perfect combination of egg and cheese. The cheese topping was a great choice, and the pickled vegetables added a nice touch. The float with strawberry was a delightful treat, and I look forward to trying other flavors next time. I quickly finished my meal and I think I'll go for the "Ginza Omelette Rice" again next time♪ The "Teppan Napolitan" and "Stone-baked Curry" are also on my list to try!

I went to the cafe me in Higashiyama, Kyoto! It's a sister store of the Ginza cafe you. I tried the Omurice Float Set (blue) and it was delicious! The Omurice was fluffy and paired perfectly with the chicken rice. It was super tasty! The texture was amazing. The float with ice cream and soda was also really good! I went on a weekday before opening time, but there were already several groups of people lined up. The interior of the cafe had a retro feel and they played Showa era classic songs as background music.

Soon, my order arrived - a cute float and a fluffy omelette rice that looked so perfect I wanted to take a video, not just photos. When I got the call and returned to the restaurant, I was seated at a unique table on the second floor with an Invader game. It was fun but a bit difficult to eat comfortably! The omurice was delicious with creamy eggs, but the portion was a bit small for me.
