On this day, I visited a place near Toji station. It was around 6:00 in the evening, with only 2 customers before me and 2 customers after me, so it was relatively empty. I ordered the curry ramen since it was available. Shortly after, the bowl in the picture was served. The visual was very simple, with a soup that had a nice thickness and was piping hot all the way through. It had plenty of shredded pork inside, giving a pleasant texture. The noodles were thin and required some effort to slurp up, but they were soft and chewy. They mixed well with the soup, creating a harmonious blend. The toppings included vegetables like carrots and the shredded pork mentioned earlier, keeping it simple. It was a type of curry ramen that I hadn't tried much before, and it remained hot until the last bite. The unity with the noodles was good, and I finished every last bit. I would like to visit again.

I visited a ramen shop that I had been curious about for the first time. Since I was short on time, I thought ramen would be quick so I decided to visit. I ordered soy sauce ramen and fried rice, but it took a while to arrive. I looked at the kitchen and it seemed like they were cooking each order one by one. The dishes arrived 15 minutes later. The taste was not bad, but the impression of taking too long overshadowed it. The fried rice was good and tasty. I would like to give it another try and aim for dishes to arrive within 5 minutes next time.

Today's lunch for Ajikun was "Ramen Ajikun" in Minami-ku, Kyoto City, located east of Kujio Omiya and Toji Temple. The restaurant seems to have moved from its previous location in Kichijoin. It has a slightly hidden exterior and counter seats on both sides towards the back. Tables are lined up near the entrance. The menu has expanded, offering more ramen varieties beyond just soy sauce and miso. The fried rice options are also plentiful, with three different sizes available. The menu also includes a variety of side dishes. Despite the increased choices, I opted for the standard "Fried Rice Set (Ramen + Small Fried Rice)" for 980 yen. It was the same order as my previous visit to the old location, where it was 900 yen, so it's still reasonably priced. The condiments for flavor enhancement are simple. The classic combination of ramen and fried rice is served, with separate containers for leeks and red pickled ginger. The fried rice is cooked to order and quite oily, but the grains are separate and the flavors of the egg and chashu are prominent. The shredded chashu is generously piled on top. The soup is light yet flavorful. The noodles are thin and straight, with a subtle presence. The leeks continue to be a prominent addition, adding a strong flavor when sprinkled on top. The move to a new location hasn't changed the deliciousness of the food.

Let's try challenging this restaurant next. I ordered the Gyoza set and Tonkotsu Ramen. The price difference between the set and the individual items is 150 yen, making the individual item seem more expensive. The presentation with plenty of green onions in the center and crispy chashu arranged around it is quite appealing. The noodles are on the firmer side with a smooth surface. The light tonkotsu soup has a strong umami flavor from the seasoning, with hints of soy sauce, saltiness, and a spicy kick from the pepper. The chashu slices are thin, tender, and melt in your mouth. The gyoza has a thick skin and a nicely crispy surface, but it's moist and chewy inside. The rice is the kind that sticks to the bowl, common in Kyoto ramen shops. Overall, the ramen and gyoza lacked a bit of flavor, so I relied on the pickled vegetables to add some extra taste. Next time, I might try the miso ramen or the stamina bowl.

Ramen restaurant near Toji Temple. It's a bit inconveniently located, so there were no other customers when it opened. They offer a good deal with a Charhan set for 980 yen (regular ramen and small Charhan), and you can add extra Charshu for 200 yen. The ramen is a delicious soy sauce flavor typical of Kyoto (similar to Shinpukusaien). The Charshu has a great taste and thickness, making it very tasty.

Classical Asahi-style Kyoto ramen. Carefully made. Delicious. The boiling of the noodles is perfect. Nowadays, there are few ramen shops where you can eat fried rice, so it is very valuable to be able to eat this quality. The complimentary chives are also a nice touch.

I have only ever tasted Kyoto ramen at chain stores before. About 40 years ago, I remember eating Kyoto ramen in a Shinjuku station building. It had very thin noodles and a light soy sauce flavor. I'm not a fan of tonkotsu (pork bone broth), but the tonkotsu shoyu soup I had in Kyoto was very delicious. The thin noodles also mixed well with the soup. The green onions were not overpowering and had a crunchy texture, making it a delicious bowl of ramen. Thank you for the meal!

I'm more interested in naengmyeon than ramen~(*^^*) I ordered naengmyeon~☆ with soy sauce... It doesn't show in the picture, but it was a huge portion⤴⤴ I tried such a large portion for the first time ^^;; I thought it could use a bit more sourness and sweetness. It's definitely not bad!!! I like strong flavors (≧▽≦) The 100 yen menma is a great deal♡ The char siu topping was delicious⤴⤴ I mixed it before taking a picture of my husband's ramen_(._.)_ Thank you for the meal(^人^)

After a hiatus of 11 months, I noticed that some words or numbers have been erased from the plates with descriptions inside the restaurant. It seems like they eliminated some nitpicky details, but the incomplete sentences are more noticeable. I ordered the regular ramen, not the "umakoku" kind, along with fried rice. While I was curious about other menu items, I couldn't forget the taste of the fried rice from my previous visit. The fried rice arrived first, and the portion was small. The rice was coated with just the right amount of oil, hot all the way through, and the delicious flavor of the rice was brought out. It had the perfect balance of fluffiness, crunchiness, and moisture. The ramen that came later was topped with plenty of Kujo green onions and small pieces of char siu. The noodles were thin. The soup had tiny droplets of oil floating on top, and compared to the "rich and flavorful" one I had last time, it was less rich but still delicious, with a more traditional "THE Kyoto Ramen" vibe. The char siu was thin, but it was tender and melted in the mouth, which I liked. This restaurant makes you want to savor the fried rice more than the ramen.

For lunch, I had the "Shoyu Ramen" with extra chashu and a side of fried rice at Ramen Ajikun. I chose the thinly sliced chashu, which was delicious. The pork bone soy sauce broth was tasty and typical of Kyoto. The ramen was topped with plenty of thinly sliced chashu, making it a true chashu noodle dish. The generous amount of green onions was a nice touch. The fried rice was lightly seasoned but deliciously fluffy. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you.

On a cold day with snow falling, I crave warm ramen♪ I ordered the Ramen Set (regular ramen and small fried rice) for 980 yen with soy sauce ramen. I also got the Char Siu Plate (miso flavor) for 800 yen, 5 fried eggs for 300 yen, and 2 bottled beers for 500 yen each. The ramen looked delicious and when I took a bite, it was really tasty with a strong flavor. The fried rice was also delicious with well-seasoned taste. The Char Siu plate with miso flavor had a nice kick to it, but I felt it lacked a bit of sauce. The fried eggs were actually fried slices of char siu, which I found out later. I tried them with the sauce that came with the Char Siu plate, but it didn't quite match, so I used soy sauce from the table, which worked better for me. The beer was on sale, and the restaurant provided ice water, small plates, garlic, tissues, and other things on the table, which was very thoughtful. The interior was clean and had a welcoming atmosphere. There were counter seats at the back, making it easy for solo diners to enjoy their meal. I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you for the meal! (^人^)

A shop near Toji Temple that serves basic ramen in the style of Ichiran. I ordered the Chashu Ramen and was surprised by the generous amount of chashu. In a city where it's hard to find ramen shops that justify the price for chashu ramen, this place offers a satisfying amount of chashu for the extra cost.

For dinner, I visited Ramen Ajikun in Toji. I arrived after 7 pm and didn't have much time, so I quickly placed my order. The main dishes here seem to be tonkotsu shoyu ramen, but you can also choose from shoyu, tonkotsu, and miso. Today, I ordered the tonkotsu shoyu ramen with fried rice set and the curry ramen. Personally, the curry ramen was a winner! The ingredients are finely chopped and there are plenty of them, with a thick curry flavor. It's so good that I almost wanted some white rice. I found a great restaurant after a long time. I might become a regular here. Thank you for the meal.

I will go for the first time since the relocation. It is right near Kintetsu Toji Station. There is a parking lot at a nearby coin parking lot. After visiting the grave during the Bon festival, I stopped by for soy sauce, tonkotsu, and miso ramen. Ramen regular 830 yen, Ramen large 930 yen, Toppings: Chashu (thinly sliced or thickly sliced) 200 yen, Menma 100 yen, Negi 100 yen, Thick noodles available for an extra 50 yen. I ordered soy sauce ramen regular, and my husband ordered the same with extra thinly sliced chashu. It is a classic Kyoto ramen. My husband said he saw this kind of ramen on YouTube and it's called Akira-style. I don't know why... So I said, "Akira-style...?" Like how Kobayashi Akira has the same character as Asahi from Daiichi Asahi, so it should be called Asahi-style, right? I don't know... And he confidently said it without knowing. This is just a random conversation, so if you're interested, please look it up (*´∀`)♪ While we were chatting, the ramen arrived. The mountain of negi looks delicious. The soy sauce soup has a rich flavor that goes well with the medium-thin straight noodles. The thinly sliced chashu is tender and easy to eat. I wonder what tonkotsu ice cream is like, it piques my interest. It seems to be open all day, so I'll come back for lunch when they start serving drinks. Thank you for the meal.

"Ajikun: I moved near my house, so I visited. It had a nostalgic old-fashioned ramen shop vibe that I might frequent if I had been born 20 years earlier. It felt like the ramen shop in the town where salarymen from TV dramas often go after work."

I finally visited this restaurant that I had been wanting to go to, as it had relocated from Kichijoji to Toji. I visited on a weekday around 4 pm, and I was glad that they were open all day. I parked at a nearby coin parking lot. There was only one other customer at that time. I ordered the soy sauce ramen with gyoza set. The ramen was served promptly, and it had a similar taste to the famous Kyoto shop, Daiichi Asahi. The rich pork bone soy sauce soup was delicious, with a slightly sweet soy sauce flavor that I liked. The thin noodles complemented the soup well. The generous amount of chashu in the ramen was a nice touch. The meat was juicy and blended well with the soup. The plentiful green onions and crunchy bean sprouts also added to the dish. Adding the garlic and leek from the table made the ramen a bit more flavorful, which I enjoyed. The gyoza was well cooked and had a decent amount of juicy filling. The only downside was the small portion of rice. Overall, I felt that the ramen was undeniably good. The restaurant was clean and had a calm atmosphere, and the polite service from the young female staff was also appreciated. I look forward to trying the tonkotsu ramen or my favorite maze-soba next time. Thank you for the meal!

It seems that the restaurant used to be located in Kichijoin, but it moved to Toji in May of this year. It is located across from the Seven Eleven on Kujo Street. I think this place used to be an izakaya that sold obanzai, but I'm not sure. The restaurant is open all day, which is a nice surprise. The menu is quite extensive, with limited items available from 2 pm such as maze soba, Tenshin fried rice, and champon. There are also other izakaya dishes and a mysterious menu item called "agedama" (fried egg?). You can choose from four types of ramen sets: tonkotsu, salt, soy sauce, and rich soy sauce (although the menu book only lists three, so be careful!). I ordered the fried rice set with "rich soy sauce." The fried rice arrived first, accompanied by a box of pickled ginger. The size was a bit disappointing... The fried rice was coated in oil, shiny, with noticeable grill marks. When I dug into it with the spoon, the dome shape collapsed easily, releasing steam. The seasoning was a bit light, but the texture was moist, fluffy, and crumbly. It was more like fried rice than fried rice. It was a pleasant surprise to encounter this level of quality. The ramen arrived late, with a mound of green onions and bean sprouts covering the unseen bottom part like a base. Chashu floated around the perimeter, almost hiding the noodles. The noodles were thin, probably from Kondo Seimen (they also offer thick noodles). It looked like a Kyoto ramen with small oil droplets floating on top. The soup was standard, but the soy sauce flavor was different from the mainstream ones like Nissho. This must be the rich soy sauce flavor. It was slightly refreshing, with a unique taste. The chashu was the typical thin slices found in Kyoto ramen, but there was a generous amount. The ramen came with a side of Yanninjan mixed with leeks. I preferred the fried rice over the ramen. The restaurant seems confident, offering variations like kimchi fried rice, curry fried rice, and Tenshin fried rice. I wish they would offer the option to choose the size for set menus.

I visited the restaurant after 3 pm, and I was relieved that it was open for continuous service. The shop originally was located in Kichijoin, but it moved near the Kintetsu Toji Station on May 1st. The interior of the shop is spacious with counter seats and table seats. When I visited, there was no one else there, so I sat at a table and looked at the menu. The ramen menu had a variety of options, but I decided to order the "Umakoku Ramen" for 830 yen. The bowl was filled with plenty of chashu pork and chopped green onions. When I tried the soup, it had a sharp soy sauce flavor with a rich taste of pork and pork bones, similar to the "Akira-style" clear pork bone broth. The chopped green onions paired very well with it. This type of ramen usually has a strong taste of seasonings, but this one didn't have that, although the saltiness was quite strong. The noodles were thin and straight with a slightly chewy and soft texture, which blended well with the soup. The chashu pork was thinly sliced and well-seasoned, providing a satisfying amount. The clear pork bone broth soup was skillfully made to bring out the richness of the pork bones, but the strong saltiness was a bit disappointing. I think the right amount of salt is crucial to fully appreciate the deliciousness of the pork bone soup. I might go back to try it again in about six months.

I arrived at the store around 10:55 a.m. on Sunday. I waited a bit, then entered the shop because the curtain was hung. It seems like a shop mainly with counter seats. They offer three types of soup: soy sauce, tonkotsu, and miso. I sat at the counter and ordered soy sauce ramen with firm noodles. The soup is a clear pork bone soy sauce-based broth, similar to the Taisho-ken style. The noodles are thin. The slightly salty soup is delicious! There is also a generous amount of green onions, so the rating is high! It seems like ramen shops are gradually increasing in this area.
