Enjoyed a course meal at a riverside dining area. The food was delicious, but the staff seemed young and lacked coordination and attentiveness. It took quite a long time from ordering drinks to receiving them. Despite the atmospheric food and location, I hope they pay more attention to their customer service.

I came to celebrate my friend's birthday. The appetizers were already delicious. The Thai fritters, roasted duck, and other dishes were of high quality. The bagna cauda was also good. I usually don't like shrimp at all and always end up leaving it, but I was able to finish the shrimp in this garlic shrimp dish as it had no odor and the flesh was firm! The tomato spaghetti with mozzarella was a nice touch. Above all, the main dish of cacciatore was amazing. I want to go again!

Visited this place for the first time on a Wednesday around 20:15, looking to have a drink on the riverbed of the Kamogawa River. Luckily, they were open until 22:30 for the last order, later than other nearby places. I had a Yamazaki highball for 1,000 yen and paid a riverbed usage fee of 1,000 yen per person. It was a weekday and not crowded, and the riverbed had a nice breeze, making it a pleasant evening. It might be tough on hot days though.

This is our 5th time using it with friends. The food is always delicious, thank you. I was surprised that we could eat a reasonable course meal on the riverside. Champagne is also affordable at 4,400 yen per bottle, which is always helpful. I would like to use it again.

The first time experiencing a floor seating, it was cool and had an open feeling which was great. The floor seating area cannot be used when it rains and becomes indoor, so I was a bit nervous because it was cloudy with a chance of light rain, but thankfully it held up until the end. Normally, floor seating is for traditional Japanese style rooms, but here it was for Italian cuisine so it was more enjoyable with tables. The only option for food was a course meal for floor seating, and the taste and portion were both good. It was too dark to take beautiful photos though. The drinks were not too expensive, and the cost performance was good.

As a big fan of Italian cuisine, I was thrilled to find a place where I could enjoy authentic Italian food at a reasonable price! This time, I ordered a la carte, but next time I want to make a reservation for a course meal. After savoring a cheese platter and red wine (I only took a photo of the white wine, oops), it was time for pasta! The pasta was amazing and made me smile. The balcony had a smoking area, which was a plus! I will definitely come back!

A casual Italian restaurant along the Kamo River. We used the riverside seats in October, but it was a bit chilly. They lent us blankets. I forgot to take photos, but we had Genovese potato, conger eel, and Tanba chicken. They were delicious, but when eaten with non-alcoholic drinks, the flavors felt a bit strong. It might be just right to eat them with alcohol.

"Mimasya Italiano" is a charming restaurant located in Pontocho where you can enjoy Kyoto-style Italian cuisine. I had the pleasure of dining on the terrace overlooking the Kamo River and enjoying the cool breeze. The Special Course lunch on the cool floor (2800 yen) includes: - Choice of 2 appetizers: Carpaccio of sea bream with garden vegetables or garlic toast with tomato and extra virgin olive oil gazpacho - Choice of 3 pasta dishes: Spaghetti alle vongole, clam oil pasta - Choice of 3 main dishes: Grilled sea bream with Italian white wine sauce - Homemade pear tart with citrus sorbet - Drink (coffee or tea) The sea bream appetizer was fresh and delicious, and the angel prawns were tasty. The gazpacho was refreshing. The clam oil pasta was light and flavorful. The grilled sea bream was tender and tasty, and the vegetables were delicious. I was completely satisfied until the last dessert. The weather was nice, and I enjoyed the view of the Kamo River and Higashiyama while feeling the cool breeze on my cheeks. It was my first time experiencing a cool floor, and it was a wonderful time."

※This is a story from September. The other day, I suddenly decided to go out for dinner on a weekday. Initially, I was looking for a restaurant that I had been curious about for a while, but... suddenly I thought, when it comes to summer in Kyoto, isn't it all about dining by the river? So, I searched and found this restaurant, which was reasonably priced and had available reservations, so I made a reservation immediately. On the day, I checked nearby restaurants and found that all of them were fully booked, so it seems that reservations are indeed necessary for dining by the river. I chose the most reasonable course, "ROSSO-Rosso-" for 5,720 yen (including tax and seating fee) at Mimasya Italiano's riverside dining. I ended up quite full. As you move up the ranks, the quality of the ingredients also increases. Overall, the flavors were on the rich side. ・Aperitif ・Bellini with peach and Campari (Non-alcoholic version also available) It starts with an aperitif. I chose the non-alcoholic version, which had a taste like a mix of peach and watermelon. ・First Greeting Tomato Bruschetta A finger food that you can eat in one bite. ・Cold Appetizers ・Smoked sea bream carpaccio Lemon Sicilian sauce with a touch of spirits (shochu) ・Homemade sausage Baked in a pie crust braided with coppa ・Marinated angel prawns from New Caledonia with Bigot sauce ・Roasted duck breast with orange sauce The appetizers were a mix of various types. It was nice to be able to enjoy different flavors. ・Warm Appetizers ・Hamo (pike conger) involtini Capellini with swordtip squid and Kyoto vegetables in pepperoncino sauce It's rare to have two appetizers in a budget course. The hamo added a touch of Kyoto's uniqueness. ・Soup ・Cold cheese fondue soup with colorful vegetables This soup is so cute♡ It is meant to resemble cheese fondue, so you drop the ingredients into it before eating. The taste was quite rich though. ・Pasta ・Caprese-style spaghetti with tomato, mozzarella cheese, and basil By this point, with the dishes being served slowly, I was starting to get full. ・Main Dish Oven-baked Tanba chicken with porcini cream sauce Contorno: Parmesan-style round eggplant, pumpkin and polenta puree It seems that the next level up has beef. ・Salad Summer vegetable terrine salad with Nishikyo miso dressing It's interesting to have terrine in a salad. Regular salads can be bland, so this was good. ・Dessert Italian cake with caramelized apple Tiramisu Homemade lemoncello There was also a digestif, although it's not shown in the photo. It was nice to be able to enjoy a variety of dishes in small portions. They had Italian beer as well. The drinks also included sake and other elements that made the place feel Kyoto-esque.

The Italian restaurant located in Pontocho is in a great location. The fish and vegetables tasted very fresh. It felt like a Italian version of Mimasuya, a restaurant known for creative Japanese cuisine in Kyoto, so the overall taste was light.

I was looking for a place to have dinner in Pontocho and decided to visit without a reservation. I chose the limited-time Duck River Cool Dining Course with pasta and ordered a Blood Orange Juice. Everything was delicious and I was very satisfied. Last year, I also visited Monami's cool dining area, which is a sister store of Mimasuya. Both places were delicious, so I would like to try other restaurants as well.

My friend made a reservation for us at a popular Italian restaurant in Pontocho to try Kyoto Kawadoko cuisine for the first time. Despite the lifting of the state of emergency, alcohol service is only until 7:00 pm and the restaurant closes at 8:00 pm. The maximum number of people allowed is 4, so we visited with 4 people at 5:30 pm. The organizer had already reserved the "Noryo-doko Course Bianco" for 7,480 yen per person, including 7 dishes. We decided to share a bottle of red wine, so I paid 9,000 yen for my share. The Italian restaurant, which mainly uses Kyoto vegetables, served two appetizers, a seafood pasta, and a steak, each presented on a different plate. The dessert was a homemade tiramisu with a Kyoto twist using wheat gluten. The food was rated 3.7, but considering the uneven portioning and other issues, it's more like a 3.4. The Kawadoko setting was on an outdoor terrace with basic tables and chairs, and we had to sit directly on the floor. The atmosphere was enhanced by the natural setting, but without it, it would have been just a casual Italian restaurant. We had to rush through the meal due to the unstable weather and the noise from the young crowd made it hard to relax. Fortunately, the weather held up until the end. The service from the busy restaurant staff was a bit sloppy and there were some mistakes. I hope the restaurant improves in the future. Overall, the service was rated 3.2 and the atmosphere was 3.8. In conclusion, this Kawadoko Italian restaurant with a casual atmosphere is best enjoyed based on the time and company you visit with, and whether the cost matches the dishes you choose and the pairings you make.

I heard that riverside dining would start in June, so I checked the weather forecast a week in advance and made a reservation for Saturday! I had heard that riverside dinners can be quite expensive, but I found a reasonably priced restaurant, so I looked into it! I made a reservation at Mimasuya Italiano! I enjoyed a nice evening, indulging in the course menu and enjoying the view! Since I don't drink alcohol, I opted for grape juice! The "ROSSO" cool floor course was ¥4800 excluding tax and included: 1. Vegetable terrine with balsamic sauce, roast beef, and Kyoto round eggplant mimasuya Kyoto roll (raw wheat gluten, cheese, smoked salmon, yuba) 2. Garlic toast 3. Kyoto story - conger eel meatballs with Kyoto vegetables and man'yoji pepper sauce 4. Colorful vegetables and cold cheese fondue 5. Mediterranean ragout and bean sprout spaghetti 6. Tomato and cabbage caprese salad 7. Light tomato stew with Tanba chicken "Cacciatore" 8. Matcha mascarpone savoyone. The course was full of the deliciousness of vegetables and seasonal ingredients, and the presentation was very vibrant and satisfying!! It was a great experience at the restaurant that even beginners can enjoy! Thank you for the meal!

Weekend day trip, food tour in Pontocho. Started off light at Pontocho Suishin Honten and headed south while looking for the next place to eat. Somehow felt like having some meat, so we chose this place where we could have steak. Despite it being a Friday, the restaurant was empty and we were seated by the window on the second floor. January after New Year's is a good time to visit Pontocho it seems. - Pinonero x2 (900 yen each) - Apple cider (550 yen) - Wagyu beef steak (100g) 2,500 yen - Salmon Kyoto roll (800 yen) - Misuyasan salad (800 yen) There is a charge of 300 yen per person. The apple cider was a new taste experience and delicious. The Wagyu beef was tender and melt-in-your-mouth. You can choose between salt or a special sauce. The original dressing on the salad really brought out the flavor of the vegetables. The view from the window of the Kamogawa River and the night lights was beautiful. The interior was chic and calming, with gentle lighting. Perfect for a date. Pontocho is not to be underestimated. Thank you for the meal.

I visited on the last day of the riverside dining on September 30th. They only offered set courses, so I reserved the 4,800 yen course. The dishes, made with Kyoto vegetables, were delicious and paired well with the riverside setting unique to Kyoto. Highly recommended Italian cuisine in Kyoto. Thank you for the meal.

I came to enjoy the annual tradition of dining by the Kamogawa River. This year, I chose this restaurant. The staff's service was excellent from the time of reservation, and their service at the restaurant was also very polite. The dishes all seemed to have cheese in them, and since I'm not a big fan of cheese, I was a bit hesitant. However, I found that all the dishes were delicious. I would like to visit again next year.

I went for lunch on a Saturday. Surprisingly, it wasn't too crowded so I got a window seat with a great view. I was able to relax and enjoy my time there. I ordered the 1800 yen set menu which included: 1. Appetizer plate 2. Pasta (quite a generous portion) 3. Dessert 4. Drink & beer (they also have craft beers like Yona Yona). The service was attentive, the interior of the restaurant was lovely, and the view was amazing. The appetizers, especially the yuba-wrapped fu, were delicious and I think it's a great value for lunch. It's not too noisy so I think it would be a good place to go with friends, on a date, or for a casual business meeting. In the summer, they even have a riverside seating area which sounds nice too.

After drinking at a bar, I felt like having some Western food, and for some reason, I really wanted to eat tomato Caprese, so I decided to go in. The place had a high percentage of female customers and had a stylish atmosphere. It was non-smoking. Since I had just been drinking, I ordered the Caprese I was craving and a meat platter. The Caprese was different from the photo on the menu, but it had cream cheese in it and was quite filling. It was delicious. The meat platter had tender and tasty meat. I left soon after eating as I had just finished drinking. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again if I have the chance.

I had a course meal at a cool seat and enjoyed every dish. Each dish was delicious and I had a great time. The price was reasonable considering the number of dishes included. I forgot to take a picture of the pasta, but I think it was a oil-based vongole? It was also delicious. I would like to visit this restaurant again.
