Sudden craving for meat, so I went to Hiro. I made a reservation for the weekend night the night before. The restaurant was about 70% full, so it felt a bit relaxed. The meat was delicious and worth the price, no doubt. The service was excellent too! They even accommodated a surprise request for my friend's birthday (we brought a cake and asked them to serve it after our meal). The surprise was a big success. I have relied on this place many times, and the taste is consistently delicious. I always go for the 5,000 yen course with all-you-can-drink, which offers great value that is hard to find in Tokyo. The only downside is that white rice is an extra charge, which I hope can be improved. The minced meat set that used to come with white rice was also good, but it seems to have disappeared now.

On Saturday at 7:30 PM, the restaurant was bustling but there seemed to be plenty of space. The staff were very kind and provided detailed explanations about changing the grill, drinks, and recommended menu items. The yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) was excellent, even though it's not shown in the photos. The assorted hormone platter was also fantastic. Hiro-san is truly amazing.

Subway "Shijo Station" and Hankyu "Karasuma Station" 15th exit, 1 minute walk south! Located in the best location, this is a restaurant with the concept of a "yakiniku izakaya". It is a popular yakiniku restaurant in Kyoto, part of the Hiro Group. I came here on the recommendation of a friend! Kyoto Shijo "Yakiniku Hiro Shoten Shijo Takakura" The specialty is sliced meat! Textbook cuts include Kalbi, Top Round, Top Sirloin, and Filet. The meat prices range from 391 yen to 1880 yen, which is very reasonable! Tan Shio for 980 yen is a must-try! Tan Yukke for 690 yen is crunchy and goes well with egg! Finally, try the cold noodles at the end!

There are some unusual cuts of meat. The meat platter looks great in photos. Organ meats had a slight smell, but the lean and marbled cuts were very delicious. By downloading the app, I got a 1000 yen discount on the boat platter. Also, it happened to be a meat day, so the boat platter had two tiers. It was mentioned that on days other than meat day, the bottom tier with the sirloin is not included. All the cuts of meat were delicious! We had various cuts like tongue, kalbi, pot-pickled dragon harami, and recommended domestic harami. It was our wedding anniversary and we decided to have yakiniku for cold prevention. The popular yakiniku restaurant in Nishiki was fully booked due to the long weekend, so we tried a new place where we could reserve a big table for 5 PM. We ordered the boat platter (2,980 yen) which included salt kalbi, tail (with bones), tough tongue ham, pork shoulder, miso beef, and harami (2 pieces each). We grilled the meat slowly over low heat and had three types of sauces - dashi, lemon, and yakiniku sauce. We also ordered white kimchi (authentic and delicious) and a salad with lettuce, cucumber, green beans, and a generous amount of Italian dressing. Since we both had a cold, we only had one beer (Kirin Lager) and requested tea. We enjoyed our meal at a leisurely pace. After an hour, they stopped taking orders, so we ordered bibimbap (which my wife enjoyed, with just the right amount of crispy rice) and cold noodles. The cold noodles were delicious, especially with plenty of vinegar added. We didn't order any additional meat, and the total bill for the two of us was less than 5,000 yen. We left feeling very satisfied.

The staff was efficient, the meat was of good quality, and it turned out to be a great dinner. The 450g boat platter was enough for two people, with a variety of cuts to enjoy, such as beef stew and jumbo roast. We, two adults and one child, enjoyed it without rice, and ended up ordering extra portions of delicious harami and sirloin. We were full, but satisfied with the meal costing just over 10,000 yen. Despite the current situation, the place was packed by 6 o'clock. Truly impressive.
