It was very delicious. I feel like the rating is low. There were three of us, and one person has a shellfish allergy. Even so, they handled it well, and we were able to enjoy our time comfortably. We will visit again, thank you.

I went to a lunch gathering at a restaurant called "Hyakka-kyo," which is rumored to have 16 cute appetizers served in small dishes. The appetizers were indeed as cute as rumored. We enjoyed beer and highballs while having the appetizers. Then, right on time, the main dish arrived - a hot pot of shark fin rice. The master chef served us the piping hot dish. And all of this for only 3,500 yen - what a great deal! I definitely want to come back for dinner next time. It's been a while since I found a recommended restaurant for lunch.

I don't usually have lunch, but they opened for me because I made a reservation. I started with the 16 small dishes I was looking forward to. They included dishes like chive dumplings, pickled vegetables, dumplings, nut egg soup, preserved egg, spring rolls, tuna with green beans, jellyfish, char siu, steamed chicken, octopus in broth, duck ham, abalone simmered in soy sauce, white fish sashimi. I was really excited. The main dish was a hot pot of shark fin and rice. It was bubbling hot and delicious. The texture of the shark fin was also good. The rice at the bottom of the pot was crispy and tasty. The almond tofu dessert was also amazing. It was very creamy. I was very satisfied.

Around 3:00 PM on the same day, I made a reservation for Thursday at 7:00 PM. The restaurant is located on the 5th floor of a building right in front of "Tenkaippin Gion Store," which may be a bit difficult to find. I arrived at 6:45 PM. There were a total of 3 groups at the counter and 1 group at a table. This was my 4th visit to the restaurant. I remember my first visit a few years ago when a club hostess recommended their delicious "shark fin dishes." The owner used to work at "Hakugan Chikurin Kairou" and specializes in "shark fin dishes." Instead of ordering a course menu, I decided to order a la carte. I expressed my desire to start with "hot pot" and "hot pot rice," so they served the appetizers accordingly. The meal included: - Assorted appetizers: fresh spring rolls, jellyfish, peanuts, steamed chicken - Assorted dim sum: super thin seafood spring rolls, shrimp and chive buns, Sichuan-style dumplings, seasonal shumai - House specialty "shark fin" dish: shark fin tail in hot pot, with Shanghai crab miso flavor for an additional 1500 yen - Natural shrimp in chili sauce - Century egg - Stir-fried chicken with lotus root and bean paste - Shark fin pectoral fin - Hot pot rice, which is a must-have to finish the meal. The owner was handling both cooking and serving alone, as one of the staff members was taking a break. His speed and skill in handling everything on his own were impressive. The service was also excellent. The prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious, so I really like this restaurant. I was satisfied once again during this visit. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

This is a special place to go on a special day. They offer both a la carte and course menus, but I have only tried the a la carte menu so I will review that. Many people around me also frequent this place because the food is delicious, especially the shark fin dish. The crispy, thin spring rolls are also delicious. They have Shaoxing wine with rock sugar in it. Last time I went, they served rice underneath the shark fin stew, and it was incredibly delicious. The prices are on the higher side.

The shumai is delicious after all! The crab miso soup is also amazing! The sweet and sour pork with pork shoulder today was excellent. The shrimp mayo is a simple dish with fried shrimp topped with mayonnaise. It would have been better with a little more creativity in the mayonnaise, maybe with aurora sauce or sweet chili mayo. Personally, I prefer a milder spiciness, so I had the shrimp chili and mapo tofu with a gentle flavor. The drunken shrimp appetizer that came with five different dishes was also delicious and went well with alcohol. You can choose between white (egg white) or yellow (egg) for the crab balls. This time, I chose yellow, and it was quite tasty. The egg was soft and fluffy.

My friend said that this restaurant was a bit disappointing. It could be because of the customer base or maybe people have different tastes. Personally, I thought it was delicious 😊 The food is light and not greasy at all. The shumai was very tender and juicy, so I ended up getting seconds. The sweet and sour pork with pork belly was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, very tasty 😊 I think the boiled dumplings taste better with ponzu sauce. The fried rice could be a bit more crispy for my liking, but the flavor is gentle and doesn't feel heavy on the stomach. I had the mild version of the dan dan noodles and I prefer the noodles to be a bit firmer. I really like the taste of this place for Chinese food. I would like to try other dishes here soon 😊 3.0 points → average 3.5 points → would like to go again if I have the chance 4.0 points → will definitely go again 5.0 points → excellent!
