I went to drink in the area of Karasuma Oike today. Daniel's ALBA is an Italian restaurant located on the 1st floor of Hotel Gimmond Kyoto. It has a lovely storefront and stylish counter seats. As it is a restaurant inside a hotel, there were many foreign tourists among the customers. I tried their food and drinks. I ordered a 800ml Stout beer, which is quite a big size. Stout beer is made using roasted barley until it turns black, creating a cloudy beer with a rich aroma. It had a tag of "Ichiban Shibori" (first pressing). The Parma ham was served on a cute pig-patterned plate. In Japan, unsmoked Italian ham is commonly referred to as "Prosciutto". It had a salty flavor, making it a perfect snack with alcohol. I also ordered two other appetizers. The Napoli-style tomato stew with summer vegetables was deliciously cooked with sweet tomatoes and basil. The Sicilian-style croquette with Mortadella had powder cheese sprinkled on top. Inside the croquette was the Mortadella, also known as Bologna sausage. It was creamy and fluffy, and I really liked it. While eating, foreign tourists would casually strike up conversations. It was a wonderful restaurant where you could experience the atmosphere of a foreign bar while in Japan.

It was a drinking party with people from the company I used to work for. The restaurant is located a few minutes east of Karasuma Oike. I had known about it before, but it was my first time being invited. There were three people who had retired and a beautiful woman still working there, and we had a great time. We brought our own wine, so we only had champagne, which was light and delicious. The food included appetizers, carpaccio, meat, and dessert, all served in a private room for about 3 hours, and the cost was 3000 yen per person. Every dish was well-prepared and tasty. The women from my former company all looked beautiful and lively. Everyone was dressed casually and in a tipsy mood, chatting away happily.

- The assorted appetizer was great as you could try a variety of items in small portions. The pate de campagne was particularly good, with a subtle liver flavor and a nice herb aroma, making it enjoyable even for those who don't like liver. - For the pasta, you could choose from three options: Bolognese, squid ink, or cream-based. They were all delicious and satisfying in portion size. - The dessert was a small panna cotta with mango sauce, which tasted average and had a slight milky flavor, similar to what you might find in a family restaurant. The set menu with a drink for 1800 yen was decent in terms of cost performance. However, there were some downsides to the experience: 1. The table was sticky and the menu was rough, lacking cleanliness. 2. Despite the restaurant being only 40% full, there were several order mistakes. 3. The small table was cluttered with plates from the previous course when the next dish arrived, causing inconvenience. Overall, the food was delicious and the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, but the unnecessary mistakes were disappointing. Hopefully, they will improve in the future.

The business lunch here has great value. You can choose from 3 types of pasta, which come with salad and bread. You can also add drinks like coffee. The pasta is made with fresh noodles and is deliciously chewy! The salad is also a good portion size and very satisfying. Whenever you want to eat delicious pasta, this is the place to go. Make sure to get a stamp card when you pay! With 10 stamps, you can get the business lunch for free! It's a really good deal.

There is no photo of the dish, but I was impressed by the small dish with eggs and ratatouille topped with cheese and baked. It was delicious. The restaurant is located near Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Oike Station at Hotel Gimmond Kyoto. The atmosphere of the hotel is like a Western one. The price setting is normal. I did not use alcohol or drinks. I rate this restaurant between 3.0 and 3.5.

On Friday at 7:24, I went to Daniel's ALBA in Karasuma Oike. I was thinking about where to have breakfast while walking, and this place caught my eye so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Standard Morning set for 1,100 yen with a hot black tea. The restaurant seems to be connected to Hotel Gimmond, as customers for their morning service come in through a door next to it. The payment system is a bit unusual as it's done each time you order, which caught my attention. The jam and margarine for the bread are placed near the register in a fold-and-serve style. The breakfast was quite typical but satisfying, with ham, cheese, eggs, salad, and yogurt. The silverware provided was from La Lyre, which was convenient and reliable. Overall, it was a stable and enjoyable breakfast experience. Thank you for the meal.

This is an Italian restaurant located on the first floor of a hotel near Karasuma Oike Station. I love that they serve fresh pasta and sparkling water. The salad is generous and comes with focaccia, all for only ¥900! The fava bean and scallop pasta was delicious. I often visit this place and once again, I am satisfied!

I visited the restaurant as soon as it opened at 11:30 on a regular day. There were no other customers. - Pasta lunch for 1455 yen - Soup: Edamame potage soup - Appetizer assortment: - Country-style pate without a liver-like smell - Torta salata with Inca's awakening, which tasted like cheese - Frittata with Mitsuba and dried tomatoes, where Mitsuba was not very noticeable and the dried tomatoes were finely chopped - Sour anglerfish insalata and marinated daikon and Chinese cabbage, which were delicious - Pasta with tomato sauce, fried eggplant, and smoked cheese - Dessert: Soft pudding-like dessert with a tangy sauce at the bottom, which seemed to be tea-flavored.

On August 12, 2019 (Monday), the second day of the family summer vacation - it's breakfast buffet time! The Horii family stayed in Kyoto last night, but today we are heading to Nagoya. For breakfast, we went to the hotel restaurant for a buffet breakfast at Hotel Girmont. We were told during check-in that Japanese food is served as a set meal while Western food is buffet style, so we chose the Western buffet. The restaurant opened at 7 am, and we were seated at a table for four. I didn't feel the need to go all out since we will be eating a lot today anyway. I had ham, bacon, sausages, salad, grapefruit juice, and soup. It was delicious! I don't usually have Western buffet breakfast, so it felt like a long time. Normally, my eldest son eats a lot at buffets, but today the roles were reversed. My youngest son was excited and ate a lot. We are planning to go for a food tour during the day in Nagoya before heading to Nagoya Dome for a baseball game tonight. Let's go to Nagoya! Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant on Sunday morning around 9:00. I was seated right away. When I came at night before, the non-smoking area was filled with smoke, but today I was able to eat and leave quickly without any smokers around. The counter near the entrance is the smoking area, while the space in the back is the non-smoking area, but it seemed difficult to separate them due to the airflow. It was as challenging as the smoking/non-smoking separation at "Andepandan" in Sanjo Miyukimachi. The buffet costs 980 yen and is an Italian-style morning buffet. I skipped the 1400 yen set with various vegetables and chicken Polito (hot and hearty stew) as it was expensive. You could have unlimited refills of blended coffee, cafe latte, espresso, iced coffee (cold crema), and black tea. It was elegant, but I wished there were more varieties of bread, ham, and cheese.

It was delicious. I preferred regular water over carbonated water for the complimentary drink.

I went in because I got a little hungry while taking a walk during the day. The atmosphere at Oike was perfect, and the inside was stylish. I had the pasta set for 1800 yen. It was a good deal with appetizers, pasta, dessert, and coffee. I am satisfied.

Actually, I finally graduated from university at an age like a grandmother, after a ridiculously long time. Someone invited me to celebrate with a toast, so I visited this place. I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, and I was happy that it's easy to walk in directly from the sidewalk since it's on the 1st floor of a hotel. The interior is spacious and has a calm atmosphere. The drink menu is mainly wine, but they also have craft beer from various regions. This time, I tried a beer from Ise, Mie Prefecture. We toasted first. The food is also great, and they offer reasonably priced course meals. The individual dishes are quite substantial, and the staff gave detailed explanations. We ordered a few appetizers, and to our surprise, they served each of us individually, which was a nice touch. Each dish was well thought out and delicious. We then moved on to wine and decided to get a bottle. When we asked for a wine that would go well with the food, they brought out something not on the menu. We chose a sparkling red wine from Tanba. It was a hit! Finally, we ordered dessert, and when it arrived, my companion tried to take a photo of their plate, but the staff asked them to wait and then presented a lovely surprise on my plate. They remembered that we were celebrating my graduation and had written "Congratulations on graduating!" in chocolate around the plate. I didn't have a graduation ceremony or party, and my diploma was sent by mail, so this was truly heartwarming! They also serve lunch, so I plan to come back for that. It's a place where you can go casually, and I definitely want to use it for someone else's celebration in the future.

I wanted to eat pasta, so I asked if they had any. They said yes, and when I mentioned that I only wanted pasta, they said it comes in a set. I called the waiter because I couldn't understand the menu, but a different waiter came this time. I ended up being convinced to order a set, even though I just wanted pasta. I ordered one of the two pasta options, but it was not good. I left most of it uneaten and left the restaurant.
