I visited the restaurant alone at 11:45 on a regular day. The restaurant is located just a few minutes' walk from Higashiyama subway station. It's convenient to visit a restaurant close to the station in the hot summer of Kyoto. When I entered the restaurant, the staff asked me if I was okay with the low-temperature frying method that takes some time. I said it was fine! There were only two customers in the restaurant, and I was seated at a table right away. I ordered the Iwanaka SPF pork rib roast 250g (2600 yen). There were stickers on a pillar in front of me with names like Hayashi SPF, Iwanaka SPF, TOKYO X, and Hanazono. About 25 minutes later, I was served rice, miso soup, pickles, and meat miso, followed by the tonkatsu about 3 minutes later. The plate of tonkatsu had indentations around it with two types of salt, whole grain mustard, yuzu pepper, wasabi, sesame oil, and sauce, making it look nice. I tried it without any condiments, and it was quite delicious and tender. It tasted even better with salt! Surprisingly, the yuzu pepper was also delicious and went well with the tonkatsu. I noticed that you can get rice refills once, so I asked for more. Yogurt was served after the meal, and it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Well, to cut to the chase, I think I set the bar too high. I arrived at 11:30 expecting no guests, but to my surprise, there were already three familiar faces inside the restaurant. The Tokyo X loin was sold out, so I reluctantly switched to the rib loin. It took about 27 minutes for the dish to be served. The Tokyo X rib loin (250g for 3100 yen) was my choice. I decided to try it as it is. When I lifted it, the breading easily peeled off. Truly a high-quality pork brand. The fat content was impressive. Towards the end, I struggled a bit with indigestion but managed to finish it. Low-temperature cooking is good, but I believe the harmony between the meat and breading is also important.

The beautiful color of the fried pork ❤️⠀After waiting for 2-30 minutes in the quiet and calm restaurant, the dish finally arrives. They fry it slowly at low temperature⠀While waiting, they serve rice and pork soup, as well as small side dishes and pickles, so you might end up finishing a drink before the main dish arrives⠀Is the tonkatsu as good as it looks? I wanted to place my order when making a phone reservation, but they wouldn't take it and only reserved a table. The menu indicated that it would take about 30 minutes, but even though it wasn't full, the food came out an hour after entering. I knew it would take some time since I've been there a few times, but I wish they had informed me that it would take about an hour when taking the order. I entered at 12:00, and the food came out at 1:03. Furthermore, one dish was accidentally dropped while being carried, so they apologized and offered to remake it (which would take 30 minutes), but I decided to cancel one portion and share the rest among us. The taste is certainly good, and I think it's a nice restaurant, but the service could be improved.

Tokyo X was lighter in taste compared to Hayashi SPF. Hayashi SPF was tender. Both were oily, with just enough to eat about 200g. There were various condiments which made it enjoyable. They use high-quality ingredients such as miso, soy sauce, and breadcrumbs, which was fantastic. I hope that this kind of tonkatsu restaurant will continue for a long time. Some items seem to sell out quickly, especially at night the fillet was not available at all, so it's better to go for the loin at night.

A tonkatsu specialty restaurant that recently opened in Okazaki. They are very conscious about using ingredients that are free of additives and organically grown. When I went in the evening, they were sold out of fillet, so I had to settle for loin. In addition to tonkatsu sauce, they offer a variety of seasonings like salt, sesame oil, soy sauce, and wasabi. However, the pork cutlet was very oily, which might be a bit heavy even for young people. It's recommended to go when fillet is still available.

My adult daughter wanted to eat delicious tonkatsu, so we visited a restaurant on a holiday just after noon. We made a reservation for 12:15 as it was stated that reservations were available. When we arrived, the restaurant was already full except for the reserved seats, so we were seated there. A staff member came and informed us that they cook the tonkatsu slowly over low heat, so it would take about 40 minutes. Since we had no other plans, we were okay with it. Some menu items were already sold out, so we ordered the following: I ordered the Lin SP Pork Rib Roast 250g (2,600 yen), and my wife and daughter ordered the Kyoto Select Brand Pork Special Fillet 160g (2,200 yen each). Another group of reservation guests (three young men) arrived after us and ordered, but I couldn't tell what type of pork they ordered. I wondered if 160g of pork would be enough for the young men. After a 40-minute wait, we were served with steamed rice, miso soup, pickles, and meat miso. The miso soup was incredibly delicious with thick slices of pork and plenty of ingredients. It was the first time I had such thick slices of pork in miso soup, and it was amazingly tasty. We quickly finished it while it was still warm. Next, the main dish, tonkatsu, arrived with various condiments. The Rib Roast was flavorful with some fat, but delicious. Despite its thickness, it was tender, and the sauce was excellent. There were also salt and wasabi, but it was best with the sauce. My wife and I shared our dishes, and the Special Fillet was also delicious. Despite its thickness, it was tender. However, the Rib Roast was a bit heavy to eat 260g, so 160g might be the best option. We managed to finish our meals and enjoyed them very much. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I came in wanting to try the coveted light pink tonkatsu. It takes about 20-30 minutes to prepare because it is fried slowly at a low temperature, which I found tough to wait for, but it was worth it. Well, it was delicious. I like the fillet more than the loin. It was tender and tasty. There are about 5 types of condiments to change the flavor, and the pork soup is delicious. You can also get a free second helping of rice. It was a happy mealtime. The price is reasonable, around 2000 yen.

I visited the Tonkatsu pork dish restaurant Juki. It's a white tonkatsu specialty store that cooks the meat slowly at low temperatures. I ordered the Iwanaka loin. The texture of the tonkatsu was a bit mushy, and there was a strong smell of oil despite the ventilation. The meat was tender and delicious. The condiments for the tonkatsu were rock salt, yuzu pepper, wasabi, sesame oil, and salt tonkatsu sauce. Personally, I recommend the wasabi, it's quite good. The miso soup was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Honestly, it's a hidden gem. It's conveniently located near the station, the place is new and clean, and most importantly, the tonkatsu is great value for money. Overall, it's the best tonkatsu place I've ever been to. They not only excel in tonkatsu, but also put a lot of effort into every dish, making it perfect. I'm afraid it will become too popular and lose its charm...

Visited the restaurant after 13:30. No temperature check, but hand sanitizing was available. Received an explanation that "it takes about 30 minutes because it is low-temperature cooking" and was guided to the table. When ordering, was informed that "all the fillets are sold out". I felt it would have been better to know this information before being seated (at least before being guided to the table). This time, I ordered the cheapest option on the menu, the Kyoto-selected brand pork loin (150g) for ¥1800. By the way, the prices were not listed on the menu in front of the store. I entered around 13:30, and the main dish was brought around 14:20. Despite tonkatsu being the main dish, the soup was miso soup. The appetizer was pork miso... The 150g tonkatsu was too much. I wanted a 100g option... The pork was fatty, sweet, and tender, very delicious (*´ω`*). The breading might be a matter of personal preference. I tried all the dipping sauces, but personally, I liked the sauce and wasabi. The grainy mustard also went well! The yogurt for palate cleansing was generously drizzled with maple syrup. I would have preferred honey... One free rice refill is apparently available! Those who eat a lot might be happy about this. About half of the customers were foreigners, and the staff spoke fluent English! It seems they have a shabu-shabu menu for dinner. Those who drink alcohol might end up drinking quite a bit before the main dish arrives (lol). The kitchen is located in the back, visible from the tables. The restroom is closer to the kitchen, perhaps because the staff also uses it. Payment is made at the table.

First visit to this restaurant. It is a place that specializes in slow-cooked dishes at low temperatures. Upon being seated, the staff explains the day's procurement situation. Surprisingly, on this day, all pork dishes are without tenderloin. I am a fan of pork loin, so it doesn't affect me, but I wonder what those who came for the tenderloin will do. I ordered the Lin SPF pork loin. They informed me that it would take about 30 minutes to prepare as they fry it slowly in advance. I pass the time playing with my phone while waiting. After about 30 minutes, the dish arrives. There are various condiments that are explained to me. The pork has a moist and tender texture. Those expecting a crispy coating might be disappointed. The pork miso soup is delicious, and overall, I am satisfied with the meal. As announced in advance, it takes time for the dish to be served, and the bill exceeds 2,000 yen without a lunch menu, so this place may be more suitable for a special occasion rather than a casual meal or a work lunch. Lunch reservations are also available.

I heard there was a new restaurant called "Hitori Kyoto Tonkatsu Conference" near Higashiyama Station. They offer a variety of brand pork such as Hayashi SPF Pork, Hioon Jukusei Pork Hime, Iwanaka SPF Pork, TOKYO X, and Kyoto-selected brand pork. I was excited to try it out, so I decided to visit with the intention of trying the Hioon Jukusei Pork Hime for the first time. However, when I arrived just after the opening, they informed me that they didn't have the Hioon Jukusei Pork Hime available that day, only the Kyoto-selected brand pork. I was disappointed and felt like my enthusiasm was dampened. I ended up ordering the Hayashi SPF Pork loin instead. It took about 30 minutes for the dish to arrive, and I found the texture of the coating to be a bit flat, perhaps due to the sesame oil used. Overall, it was a new restaurant that had opened in July, and I hope they can provide more information on the available options, especially on social media.

Upon entering the restaurant, the smell of oil was strong. I had to wait for over 20 minutes just to be seated, and then it took over 30 minutes to get my food. Because of the long wait, my clothes ended up smelling like oil, which bothered me for the rest of the day. The breadcrumbs on the cutlet I ordered were falling apart, and when I tried to eat them, they were oily and lacked crispiness, so I left them. The popular brand of pork cutlet I wanted was sold out, and they were also out of pork fillet, leaving me with limited meat options. The rib roast they recommended to me was too fatty, and I regretted ordering it. The miso soup, made with famous white miso, was disappointing because it had sesame oil in it. However, the pork cutlet dipped in wasabi soy sauce, sauce, or sesame oil was delicious. After all, I think I prefer a regular pork cutlet.

A specialty restaurant in Kyoto's Higashiyama district offers "white tonkatsu" that is cooked slowly at a low temperature without forming bubbles. They offer five types of pork: TOKYO X, Hayashi SPF Pork, Iwanaka SPF Pork, Ice-aged Pork Princess, and Kyoto-select brand pork, with options for loin, rib loin, and fillet cuts. They use high-quality breadcrumbs from "Nakaya Breadcrumbs," which are made from scratch and serve each tonkatsu dish as a set meal with rice, pickles, meat miso, and tonjiru soup made with white miso from Yamatoshi Shokuhin. The Hayashi SPF Pork Fillet (160g) costs 2400 yen and is known for its tenderness, aroma, and sweetness. They also offer a variety of seasoning options like rock salt, Tasmanian mustard, yuzu pepper, fresh wasabi, sesame oil, Kinbiki salt, and papaya sauce. The tonkatsu is breaded and fried at a low temperature after ordering, so it may take more than 20 minutes, but it's definitely worth the wait!

The restaurant has a clean and calming atmosphere with good spacing between tables. However, there were some issues with the customer service, such as staff being unprepared when asked for recommendations and not confirming rice orders. The kitchen staff provided clear explanations of dishes and handled complaints calmly. The food took about 25 minutes to be served, with some issues like soggy breading on the tonkatsu. The price was considered fair. Overall, the reviewer hopes the restaurant will improve and succeed due to its pleasant ambiance and tasty pork dishes.

I don't remember what kind of shop it used to be, but I once had lunch there. I forgot what kind of shop it was, so it probably didn't leave much of an impression haha. It was under renovation for a while, so I was wondering what kind of shop it would become, and it turned out to be a tonkatsu restaurant. There aren't many good lunch options around here, despite there being plenty of eateries nearby, and most of them are crowded with tourists. This time, I've been trying to watch my fat intake, so I opted for the pork fillet cutlet (even though if you're worried about fat, you shouldn't eat fried food haha). This shop handles brands like TOKYO X pork, but unfortunately, they were out of stock that day. While there were other options like loin or rib loin, the only choice for the fillet cutlet was the carefully selected pork from Kyoto. It takes about 20-30 minutes for the low-temperature cooking, so I just had to wait. After about 30 minutes, the fillet cutlet arrived. It was fried slowly at a low temperature, so it looked much lighter than the usual deep-fried color. There were various condiments available, so you could enjoy different flavors with each bite. However, they were all served on one plate, so some condiments went to waste. I thought it would be better if you could choose them yourself. Anyway, if it's your first time at the restaurant, I recommend trying one piece with salt, one with soy sauce, and the rest with sauce to fully enjoy the flavors. Despite being fillet, it was juicy and very delicious. The tonjiru (pork miso soup) that came with the set was also tasty. If I have work nearby again, I would definitely come back. Next time, I want to try the loin after practicing restraint the day before or in the morning.

[Date] August 21, 2022 (Sunday) 5:52 PM [Foodlog rating at the time of visit] 3.07 [Waiting time] Reserved, 3 groups inside [Service] Yes [Likelihood of revisiting] Maybe [Payment method] Cash The interior of the restaurant, which is still new, has a calm and clean atmosphere. However, it is quite disappointing that there is a strong smell of oil throughout the restaurant. The "林SPF Pork" that I was looking forward to was sold out, as well as the "岩中SPF Pork" and "TOKYO X"…even though it had only been an hour since the evening service started? So, I ended up being almost forced to choose the Kyoto-produced and ice-aged pork… The low-temperature cooking method meant it would take 20-30 minutes, and the white tonkatsu was served right on time after 30 minutes. [京都産厳選銘柄豚 特選ロース (Kyoto-selected premium pork loin)] [Contents] 150g (6 slices), rice, miso soup, cabbage, 7 condiments, pickles, yogurt [Preparation time] 30 minutes The tonkatsu was lightly browned with a pink inside. It was flavorful and delicious on its own, but the oil on the breading was too strong, giving it a greasy and soggy texture. It was my first time trying white tonkatsu, so I couldn't tell if the breading was oily or fatty… The texture had a chewy feel with some toughness. The condiments, especially the sauce, had a consistent taste. The cabbage was fresh and juicy, and the miso soup had a strong dashi flavor, making it delicious. The yogurt with black honey for dessert was tasty. [氷温熟成豚姫 ロース (Ice-aged matured pork princess loin)] [Contents] 150g (5 slices), rice, miso soup, cabbage, 7 condiments, pickles, yogurt [Preparation time] 30 minutes Compared to the Kyoto-produced pork, this one was slightly more tender. The oil on the breading was not completely wiped off. [京都産厳選銘柄豚 追加ヒレ (Kyoto-selected premium pork additional fillet)] [Contents] 80g (2 slices) [Preparation time] 30 minutes Tender with a slightly firm texture. The oil on the breading was not completely wiped off. Prices: - Kyoto-selected premium pork loin (150g) - 1,800 yen - Kyoto-selected premium pork additional fillet (80g) - 900 yen - Ice-aged matured pork princess loin (150g) - 2,500 yen

I saw this restaurant that my followers were interested in, and I thought I'd like to go there someday. When I was getting vaccinated nearby, I remembered this place and called to ask if they had any availability. They said they had space, so I apologized for being just two people and went in. There were a few people inside, so I ordered the most popular dish, the Lin Pork, 240g. When the miso soup and pickles came out, I tried a bite and it was delicious. The daikon had a great flavor too. Then, the long-awaited tonkatsu arrived. I tried a bite with salt and it was so delicious! I was impressed by how tasty it was. The second bite with wasabi was also great. It was juicy and sweet, just so delicious! But, 240g was too much, I got carried away! The rice was also tasty, and the cabbage with onion sauce was delicious too. I want to try different meats next time, definitely coming back!

I had been curious about this tonkatsu restaurant even before it opened! During the Obon holiday, I made a reservation on Instagram and visited for a slightly late lunch (*⁰▿⁰*). When I arrived, the other customers had just finished eating, so I had the place to myself for about 15 minutes. The new restaurant was very clean and beautiful. Here's what I ordered: - Kyoto Tanba Kogen Pork Loin 200g \¥2,200 - Additional: Pork Fillet 80g \¥900 Since I was in Kyoto, I decided to try the local pork. The pork was sweet, not too fatty, and very delicious. I didn't see it coming, but the breading was very easy to come off. The miso soup used white miso, so it didn't taste like your typical pork soup, more like a miso soup with a unique flavor. They had a variety of condiments available. There were two types of salt, but personally, I preferred eating it with the Kinu-Iri salt. The pickles and meat miso that came with the meal were delicious, and I couldn't stop eating rice with them. The meat itself was delicious, so I have high hopes for this place in the future.
