Duck shabu-shabu lunch for 2200 yen. There was a 1 group wait just 5 minutes before the opening. The restaurant opened at 11:30 and the interior was clean with a calm atmosphere. It was a bit cold due to the air conditioning, but it was just right once we started eating the duck shabu-shabu. There was a sufficient amount of duck meat. On this day, croquettes were also served, and they were quite filling. I was happy to see plenty of green onions! It seems you can choose from ramen, soba, or zosui for the finishing touch. It may be a bit luxurious for lunch, but it's cost-effective. ⭕️

I visited the restaurant alone. I ordered the duck hot pot, which is a popular menu item. Surprisingly, the portion was quite generous with plenty of duck meat and vegetables. The taste was incredibly delicious. For drinks, I had oolong tea first and then switched to a grape vinegar soda called "biwamin." It was refreshing and I really liked it. The interior of the restaurant was very clean and the staff were friendly. I will definitely visit again!

I arrived a little early at 11:30, so I waited outside for a while. I took a picture of the restaurant with the curtain not yet out at that time! The staff noticed me waiting and brought out the curtain, then let me wait inside the entrance because it was hot while they prepared outside. I went in and ordered the duck shabu-shabu set meal that I had decided on. I also ordered a ginger ale because it was hot, but it turned out to be spicy! Sometimes there are spicy drinks at restaurants, and I always wish they would mention it. Since there were no tables for 2, they seated me at a table for 4. Later, two groups arrived early for their 12 o'clock reservations, and then another group came in, filling up the seats quickly. I had tried the duck shabu-shabu set meal three years ago, and this time it came with duck, green onions, tsukune, rice, and fried food (croquette). I always want to eat noodles as a finishing touch, but I always end up too full before that. I wish they would make the rice and fried food optional. There were 6 tables for 4 people and 2 tables for 6 people. The amount of duck and green onions was just right for me. I would like to visit this restaurant again!

This is a lunch in Kyoto. I found a duck cuisine restaurant near Toji Temple and had duck shabu-shabu. It was my first time trying duck shabu-shabu and it was delicious. I had to go to Kyoto for business on the 21st. It happened to be the day of the antique market at Toji Temple, so I went there early and strolled around. It was a hot day, but it was quite cool because the ground was made of soil and there was no glare. I was thinking of having lunch at Kyoto Station, but I happened to come across a beautifully renovated machiya (traditional townhouse) and found a duck cuisine restaurant. They had curry and soba, but everything used duck. I was drawn to the limited quantity duck shabu-shabu. It was a simple shabu-shabu with only green onions and burdock. I cooked the vegetables and duck in the broth and enjoyed it with some sansho pepper. It was delicious. Lastly, they served rice in the broth for a porridge. It was refreshing and tasty without eggs, just with some sansho pepper. It was a place I would like to visit again.

I found a delicious restaurant near Toji Temple. They specialize in duck shabu-shabu hot pot, and serve lunch until 4 pm. The curry, made with the shabu-shabu broth, has a delicious flavor. My friend ordered soba noodles and said the broth was very tasty. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and modern. I will definitely come back here for lunch next time I visit Toji Temple.

I came to Kyoto and wanted to try some Kyoto-style food, so I chose duck! They accept same-day reservations by phone, the restaurant is spacious, clean, and makes you feel at ease. There is plenty of room to relax. I was able to try a variety of Kyoto specialties all at once! The duck shabu-shabu was delicious! I want to eat it again!

A famous restaurant visited by many celebrities! There are many autographs displayed. Specializing in duck dishes. Since I had duck at an izakaya yesterday, I ordered soba instead. The broth had duck, dumplings, and green onions, giving it a crunchy and crispy texture. It was so delicious that I wanted to drink the broth too.

I visited this restaurant while on a business trip, attracted by the affordable duck and leek hot pot lunch. It is located right in front of Toji Temple. I entered right when it opened at 11:30 am and soon my order arrived. In addition to the duck hot pot, it came with duck tsukune and beef croquettes for 2,200 yen. The combination of duck and leek is really the best. Adding burdock halfway through changes the flavor. The restaurant had a Kyoto-like atmosphere and was truly a great place.

Near To-ji Temple in Kyoto, there is a great place for duck hot pot called "Sora". The dashi broth made with Hokkaido kombu is exceptional and the restaurant's Kyoto charm is evident in its exterior. Located just a 15-minute walk from Kyoto Station, it is a convenient spot to visit alongside other sightseeing activities in the city. The restaurant has plenty of seating, including counter seats, and the atmosphere is spacious and relaxed. The duck hot pot is a must-try, with the broth prepared in front of you and the duck meat cooked to perfection. The taste of duck hot pot is unique and delicious, offering a different appeal compared to pork hot pot. Duck meat is rich in beauty vitamins and iron, making it a healthy and tasty choice. The restaurant is named "Sora" and is located a 5-minute walk from Kintetsu To-ji Station, with parking available nearby. Open daily from 11:30 to 22:00, "Sora" is a great place to enjoy a traditional Kyoto meal.

You can enjoy a refined atmosphere and taste delicious dishes in this elegant restaurant. The main dishes are duck shabu-shabu and duck cuisine, with a very tasty original broth. The combination of duck and leeks soaked in the broth is excellent and makes the meal even more enjoyable. Adding burdock halfway through changes the flavor and provides a second round of enjoyment. The staff promptly replenish the broth when it runs low, which is very much appreciated. For the finale, we had egg porridge. They also offer a variety of dishes such as thick-cut beef tongue and appetizers.

The taste and atmosphere are good. We ordered duck shabu-shabu for each person and also ordered one more dish, but I think it would be better to try a variety of dishes instead of ordering duck shabu-shabu for each person. The service was good and the staff were friendly, but it would be even better if they could provide more explanations about the dishes. I felt that the service was better when I visited four years ago.

I visited this restaurant when it first opened, and this time I tried the duck shabu-shabu course. The scallop carpaccio, smoked duck, and shrimp chili were all delicious! The shrimp was firm and the duck was tasty, but the best part was the leeks and meatballs in the shabu-shabu! For the finale, you can choose from soba, udon, ramen, or rice. I recommend the rice porridge, as you can fully enjoy the flavor of the soup. The interior of the restaurant was clean and cozy. I will definitely visit again when I go to Kyoto. Thank you very much!

Near Toji Temple, there is a duck shabu-shabu restaurant. I made a lunch reservation and visited, but the restaurant was full. I received a detailed explanation and enjoyed delicious duck shabu-shabu. The broth was very tasty. The side dish of horse mackerel fry was also freshly fried and delicious.

I visited a duck shabu-shabu restaurant in front of Keigamon at Toji Temple for lunch. In addition to shabu-shabu, they also offer duck seiro, duck cutlet bowl, and Taiwanese shaved ice for dessert. Despite the rain, the seats were quite full. I ordered duck seiro and half of duck cutlet. The delicious broth paired well with the country-style soba noodles. The small meatballs were soft and tasty. It was my first time trying the cutlet, but the sweet sauce and cabbage on top of the rice bowl were delicious. The Taiwanese shaved ice after the meal was refreshing, with flavored ice topped with black honey and kinako powder. It was a light and tasty duck lunch.

After the state of emergency was lifted, I had a rare daytime drink. I enjoyed my usual duck shabu-shabu set meal and soba. The flavorful duck meat was excellent, and the alcohol went down smoothly. The soba dipping sauce had a rich duck broth, making the alcohol even more enjoyable. Beer, highball, and sake all paired well with the food. The clean interior of the restaurant was spacious, with enough distance between tables to ensure thorough COVID-19 measures. It was a weekday, so I was able to relax and enjoy my meal.

Duck Shabu-Shabu & Machiya Cafe Sora KUMA Survey (Daily Use) (100: Excellent 80: Outstanding 60: Good 50: Pass 40: Satisfactory) (Taste: 60%: Others 40%) Overall Rating: 69 points Outstanding! A place where you can enjoy a course of duck dishes! Overview: The restaurant is located about 15 minutes from Kyoto Station, along the Toji Temple. I went there at night, and the entrance was upscale, which made me feel a bit uneasy as I usually eat at casual places (it was better since I knew the price with a reservation). The restaurant is called a "machiya cafe," but inside, it is a beautiful restaurant. I think it's best to enjoy the Chinese-style dishes served in courses on the round table. I reserved a ¥5000 course. The dishes centered around duck were of a very high level, and it was a great place to enjoy food. I think it's rare to find a restaurant of this level. I'm satisfied with finding such a good place. Usage: Family: ✔️, Couple: ✔️, Alone: ✔️, Banquet: ✔️, Business: △, Casual/Long stay possible (night) Store/Service: 70 points 14pt - Store: The entrance has a sense of luxury. Inside, it is bright and comfortable with a light-colored wood tone theme. Of course, the beautifully decorated and clean interior is wonderful. - Service: The service is a bit hesitant, but they may still be learning. Taste Evaluation: 75 points 45p - Course: ¥5000, Medium-sized beer Asahi: ¥780 - Scallop Carpaccio: High-quality scallop scallops are prepared in a high-level carpaccio style. It's wonderful. - Roasted duck meat: The sweetness and umami of the duck meat come out fully and it is delicious. It has a slightly sweet seasoning, making it go well with beer or sake. - Shrimp chili: This is also quite delicious. The perfect balance of spiciness and sweetness. The shrimp used is of quite good quality, so it's plump. - Oden meatballs (can make 4): 11 pieces of duck meat, green onions, burdock, which is quite a lot for one person. The meatballs have little binder, crumble easily, and allow you to fully enjoy the umami of the meat. The white hair onion and burdock also absorb the umami of the broth well. The main duck meat was an outstanding dish where you could fully enjoy the umami of the meat. Cost Performance: 50 points 10pt It has a low rating for daily use, but it can be rated a bit higher as a space to enjoy a calm and delicious meal. If this price range, having a private room (semi-private) could provide service and usability that match the price.

☆ Kintetsu Kyoto Line - Toji On a mid-February Saturday, I went to Toji to see the three-dimensional mandala. It's a great location, just a 10-minute walk from the station, right in front of the east gate of Toji. When I entered the restaurant, I thought I had to take off my shoes because of the layout, but they said, "Please come in as you are." Inside, it was spacious and different from the entrance - it felt like a regular restaurant with lots of photos and autographs of famous people on the walls. I was the first customer and ordered the most popular dish, "Duck Shabu-Shabu Set" for 1850 yen (excluding tax)! Wow, it was luxurious! I received a pot with dashi broth and a explanation on how to eat. Duck shabu-shabu meat (7 slices), duck meatballs (2), shredded burdock, a mountain of leeks, horse mackerel fry, pickles, and more. I quickly dipped the duck meat in the hot pot for 10 seconds, then the leeks for 5 seconds, and ate them together - delicious! The mackerel fry was crispy, and dipping it in the fry sauce between bites of the duck shabu-shabu kept the meal interesting. The broth was so tasty that after finishing the meal, I poured it over rice and enjoyed the light and flavorful combination. By the time I finished eating, more customers had started coming in, and about half of the seats were filled. I was full and satisfied! Thank you for the delicious meal!

I went to Toji Temple for my first visit of the year and on the way back, I walked down a street I had never been on before. I saw a restaurant that looked delicious - a duck shabu-shabu place! I haven't had duck in a long time because I don't feel like buying it at the supermarket. But today, I was already full so I decided to just have some tapioca tea and head home. It was around 3:00 PM, a strange time, but there were quite a few people enjoying shabu-shabu! The restaurant was quite stylish, with a lot of shochu bottles lined up and even some autographs on display. I ordered a matcha tapioca tea, which was really sweet and delicious. The tapioca had a strong black sugar flavor and was slightly soft. Today was more of a reconnaissance mission, but next time I'll definitely come back for the shabu-shabu. I'm looking forward to it!

Everything was delicious, but the duck shabu-shabu was especially tasty. It is served with green onions and burdock, which is the perfect match. The location was a bit far, but it was worth the visit. My family was also pleased. It is easy to find as it is located next to Toji Temple.

On the last day in Kyoto, we went to a restaurant called Kamo. It is located right in front of Toji Temple and is a very beautiful place. We started with ordering 3 servings of duck shabu-shabu and toasted with draft beer. Then we enjoyed Dassai Sparkling Sake. Do you know how to open and drink Dassai Sparkling Sake properly? Make sure it is chilled, open it quietly using the special tool, and only drink the clear top layer. Then, close the bottle, shake it a couple of times to mix the sake lees, and enjoy the cloudy white sake. We also ordered roasted duck, seared duck, seared mackerel, and daikon radish tempura. Once the broth was warm, we added meatballs and burdock, and once they floated to the top, we ate them. Timing is important when cooking the duck for 15 seconds and the leeks for 5 seconds. Of course, we ordered an additional 3 servings of duck meat, meatballs, and leeks. For the finale, we had rice porridge as usual, but we also ordered the duck curry from the Toji Temple light-up event. Everything was so delicious!
