This was my first visit. When I went on Saturday, they had a weekend-only beef tendon curry, so I was planning to order that along with the shrimp cream curry, but unfortunately the beef tendon curry was sold out. I ended up getting the butter chicken instead. It was delicious, but I really wanted to try the beef tendon one. And if only I had said something a little earlier. The biryani was also delicious. I will definitely go back.

It was a visit on Sunday at 11:30 am. There was one parking space available in the parking lot next to the shop. The shop is still new, and maybe because of its location, there was only one female customer waiting when it opened at 11 am. There were two more customers after that, so it was not crowded. The prices are slightly on the higher side, which may be affecting the number of customers. The beef tendon curry I had (1,050 yen) was slightly more expensive compared to other shops in the city. The beef tendon was soft and easy to eat. The curry had a mild taste that would appeal to many people, but it lacked spiciness and felt a bit lacking, so I added some garam masala from the table. I also changed the rice to biryani (with a 150 yen surcharge), making the curry alone cost 1,200 yen. I added a blueberry lassi (set price 170 yen) for a total of 1,370 yen. The lassi was more like eating yogurt than drinking it. Overall, I feel that the quality matches the price, but compared to the spice curry shop in front of Rakunan Aeon nearby, the absolute price is slightly higher. It's not the kind of place you would visit frequently like CoCo Ichibanya, but it has a special feel to it. The background music was very Showa era!

After a long time, I visited Kyoto Curry again for the first time in a year to satisfy my spice curry craving. Despite being in a discreet location, this place is quite popular. The restaurant is run by a handsome young musician-like owner and an elderly female staff, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. I saw on Instagram that they serve Biryani on weekends, so I came specifically for that. I ordered a combination of pork curry and black wagyu beef tendon curry, both served with rice. The price was 1450 yen including tax, and payment with PayPay is possible. After a short wait, the dishes arrived. The chicken broth Biryani was excellent, with a taste that I really enjoyed. The beef tendon and pork curries were also delicious, with generous amounts of meat and a good balance of flavors. The spiciness was not too strong, but the curries had a rich taste and depth. I added some extra spices halfway through and enjoyed the meal until the end. This place is a rare gem for spice curry in the area, so I highly recommend it. There is parking space for 2 cars in front of the restaurant, and it is within walking distance from Nishioji Station and Nishioji Kujo bus stop. If you're interested, I suggest giving it a try.

I ordered the most popular dishes - the rich coconut milk curry with shrimp and the tendon curry. The coconut milk curry with shrimp had a very smooth texture thanks to the coconut milk. The tendon curry had tender meat that had been simmered for a long time, releasing its delicious flavors into the curry. The garlic pickled egg was rich and memorable! They also have limited-time menu items, so I will definitely go back to try a different curry!

I chose the beef tendon and pork curry as you can choose two spice curries. I also upgraded to turmeric rice biryani for an additional ¥150. The flavors of the different ingredients layered on one plate were delicious. The pork and beef tendon had a nice texture and rich flavor that paired well with the curry and biryani. I would love to try other curries as well. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Hello ( ̄Д ̄)ノ Today is curry day!! This time, I plan to visit a restaurant I found by searching for curry. The place is located in a residential area near Raku Nan Aeon, at #Kyoto Curry (39-1 Funadocho, Yoshioin, Minami-ku, Kyoto City). I visited during lunch on a weekday. The restaurant has an L-shaped counter with 8 seats and one 4-person table. It was quite busy during lunchtime. I sat at the available counter seat. The female owner was busy but still came to take my order. I ordered the Special Keema Double Plate for 1150 yen, with Butter Chicken and Lentil Curry. I also added a large serving of rice for an extra 70 yen and a drink set for an additional 150 yen. While waiting and tapping on my smartphone, the order arrived. The Special Keema Double Plate (with large rice and drink set) for 1370 yen arrived. It consisted of turmeric rice, Keema curry, Butter Chicken on the left, and Lentil curry on the right. It was a luxurious plate with different curries on each side. There were also side dishes like flavored egg and beets. I started by trying the Chicken. It had a slight spiciness and a rich flavor from the chicken and butter. The Lentil curry was full of beans, with a gentle and comforting taste. I realized that I have been enjoying this type of curry a lot lately. The Keema had a meaty texture with each bite, making it the most rice-friendly. I enjoyed the side dishes as well, savoring the changing flavors. I finished the meal with a cold iced coffee and felt satisfied. The variety of curries offered an authentic taste, and the large rice and iced coffee added value to the meal. The quick and polite service in a crowded restaurant was also appreciated. The aroma of shrimp cooking for another customer was amazing, so I definitely want to try the shrimp curry next time!! It was delicious, thank you very much!! PS The large rice for an additional 70 yen was quite generous, and the drink set for an extra 150 yen was a good deal. The BGM playing in the restaurant was very retro, with "Seagulls flying~" being quite catchy.

I have nothing more to say. The BGM at the shop, with slightly retro Enka songs, adds a perfect touch of spice that is not overwhelming. I have also grown to love the taste of stirring and drinking the lassi with honey settled at the bottom.

Today, I wanted to eat spicy curry so I went to Kyoto Curry in the residential area of Nishioji. It's really located in the middle of a residential area, a bit far from the nearest Nishioji station, so it seems like a high hurdle to get there if you're not a Kyoto resident. I like that the interior of the restaurant has more L-shaped counter seats than table seats. When I was unsure about the menu, a female staff member kindly explained it to me, so I decided to order the special Keema double plate! You can also choose the Half-Month Curry, which changes every half month, not daily or monthly. The special Keema double plate (Scallop curry + Shrimp coconut curry) looked great with the shrimp sitting on top. The rice was a mix of Japanese rice and Basmati rice cooked slightly firm with turmeric, which I really liked. The Scallop curry had a subtle sweetness and richness from the coconut, with a hint of tomato acidity, allowing the deliciousness of the scallops to come through gently. I was happy to find two large scallops in it! The Shrimp coconut milk curry had a nice blend of shrimp's savory flavor and spicy curry. Personally, I felt that the Scallop curry had a stronger coconut flavor compared to this one. The shrimp was easy to eat with the tail removed, and the meat was packed with flavor. The Keema curry was not as spicy or strong in spice as I expected, more like a moist and lightly seasoned minced meat. I was quite satisfied with the double curry. This curry restaurant will definitely be on my list when looking for lunch around this area. Oh, maybe it was just a coincidence, but I wish they had hand soap in the restroom. Thank you for the meal!

In a residential area near the back of Kishouin Tenmangu Shrine, there is a curry restaurant. We decided to drive there since there is a garage next to the store. We arrived a little after 2 pm for the last order at 2:45 pm, and there were already quite a few customers. Some menu items were sold out, which was disappointing, but we were able to try the shrimp coconut milk curry that we came for! They also offer a combination set, so if you're curious about different curries, why not choose two varieties? My friend and I opted for the pork topping on a single item menu. It's slightly spicy but not overpowering, and the turmeric rice complements it well. Recommended for those who enjoy spiced curry. Women may find this dish filling on its own. They also offer a set with lassi, which helps to balance out the lingering curry flavor after the meal.

First visit. I had the half-month limited oyster coconut milk curry. It's advertised as coconut milk, but as you eat more, the spiciness adds to the deliciousness. The boiled egg was amazing! It comes with it by default, so please give it a try. The half-month limited curry cannot be mixed with other curries, so next time I definitely want to try mixing it. The manager is probably a quiet person, haha.

Located in Minami-ku, Kyoto, this restaurant is closed on Thursdays but open for lunch on other days. It was a nice change to finally stop by this area, which I usually pass by unless I have errands. The restaurant is new and clean, with a cute interior featuring a counter and a few small tables. I visited at noon on a weekday and was the only customer. I ordered the Lassi Set for 1250 yen, with an additional 100 yen for a side dish. The shrimp coconut milk curry had a sweet flavor that was not overwhelming, making it delicious. As I continued eating, I started to sweat a little, even though the curry was not too thick. The Kyoto pork spicy curry had a unique blend of spices with a hint of sweetness. It was filled with finely chopped vegetables and thick pork belly slices that were tasty. The spiciness was just right and the seasoned egg went well with both curries. I chose the honey lemon lassi, which became too sweet for my liking halfway through. Adding more ice or reducing the sweetness would make it easier to drink. Overall, the curries were complex and delicious. If I were to visit again for lunch, I would opt for a single curry dish. Having a bit more vegetables on the side might enhance the overall satisfaction.

It's been a while since I last posted, but I couldn't resist sharing about this restaurant. For the past 1-2 years, I've been on a personal "curry journey" exploring delicious curry restaurants mainly in the Kyoto-Shiga area, and this restaurant was really good. Located in a somewhat hidden residential area in the city center, the restaurant exudes a sense of motivation and identity. Upon entering, a friendly and elegant woman greeted me and I sat at the counter. Inside the counter, a serious-looking young man was diligently cooking. I ordered the "full set" menu, which was reasonably priced. The background music, featuring Monta Yoshinori's "Dancing All Night," was nostalgic and cool. Without much wait, the full set I ordered arrived, with two types of curry and rice, including a weekend-only biryani (Indian-style mixed rice) (large portion). It was amazing. The basmati rice was perfectly cooked and flavorful, and the curry had a delightful aroma and a refined level of spiciness. The lassi that came with it was unlike any I've had before, with honey at the bottom of the glass to mix in while drinking. Delicious! And to top it off, the coconut pudding served when I finished eating was a knockout punch of flavor. I was completely impressed by this restaurant, so I wanted to share my experience with everyone.

Today's lunch was at "Kyoto Curry", a spice curry restaurant located in Minami-ku, Kyoto City, just north of Yoshimiin Tenmangu Shrine. The restaurant is located on the 1st floor of a regular residential building in a quiet neighborhood. The interior is white with only an L-shaped counter. Despite being in a remote residential area with no transportation options, customers come in one after another. The menu includes set meals and customizable curry options. I chose the "Choose Your Own Combination Curry (Coconut Milk Curry with Shrimp + Spicy Kyoto Pork Curry, with Biryani substitution)" for 1250 yen. The meal is served on a silver plate with simple cutlery. The Biryani is flavorful and delicious. It's hard to identify the side dishes. The shrimp curry has a mild coconut flavor with a strong spice kick. The Kyoto pork curry is tender and chunky, with a solid spicy kick. You can enjoy authentic, hidden gem spice curry at this restaurant.

This is authentic Sri Lankan curry. The area around the restaurant is filled with the pleasant aroma of spices, making you feel hungry. Just like how eel restaurants attract customers with smoke, curry restaurants seem to draw people in with the scent of spices. I ordered a combination of two curries (pork and shrimp). Each curry has its own unique flavor and aroma, and they are delicious on their own. However, the true charm of Sri Lankan curry lies in mixing the curries together and enjoying the different flavors with each bite. I was completely satisfied with the Sri Lankan curry until the end. You can combine up to four different curries at a time. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, alcohol is not served and evening hours are not available. For now, they only operate during lunch hours from 11:00 to 15:00.

I wanted to eat curry while on my way to work, so I searched for a nearby place. When I arrived exactly at 12 o'clock, there were no customers and I was a bit worried. However, soon after, male customers started coming in one after another. The interior of the restaurant is very stylish and you can feel the attention to detail. It is a counter-style restaurant. I had the special squid curry with extra rice (free on weekdays). It was based on coconut curry and incredibly delicious. The presentation was beautiful and the saffron rice was light yet flavorful. It might be a bit hard for people to come here since it's located in a residential area, but if it were in a more central location, it could become a thriving restaurant. I have been to various popular spice curry restaurants in Osaka, but I might prefer the taste of this place. If you love curry, it might be worth coming here to try it out.
