This is the famous Toyo-tei in the Takashimaya store in Kyoto. I always go to Toyo-tei at Kyoto Station or this Takashimaya store. This is my favorite place. It is also famous for being similar to Tsubame Grill in Tokyo. Toyo-tei is only in Kansai, while Tsubame Grill is only in Kanto. There seems to be various backgrounds and stories behind it, making it a hundred-year-old Western-style restaurant. I always have the lunch set with wrapped hamburger steak here. The tomato salad is also delicious. The tomatoes disappear in an instant when you eat them, and this is the only place that happens. The hamburger steak is perfect. Personally, when it comes to wrapped hamburger steak, it's either here or Coco's (laughs). The side of potatoes is also excellent. This time, I also had a drink, and it is generously poured. The bottle itself is not a high-end brand, but it is good as table wine. The way it is poured also feels like a great local Western-style restaurant. I love this place.

After visiting a local product exhibition, I came for an early dinner at Capital restaurant. They offer a lunch set until 5 pm, which is a great deal. I ordered the Dinner A set, which includes tomato salad, a main dish (I chose the delicious hamburger), and unlimited refills of bread or rice. You can also choose from coffee, tea, or camomile tea. The hamburger was tasty, and the meat on top was tender. The baron potatoes on the side were fluffy and delicious. The bread comes with butter, which adds to the meal. I want to go back tomorrow!

The tomato salad, wrapped grilled hamburg steak, water glasses and pitchers, and the style of providing tableware were almost identical. The only thing that was slightly different was the texture of the hamburg steak. I felt that Tsubame's was more fitting. However, being able to taste this flavor while in Kansai is much appreciated.

The cakes are offered at a special price on the 15th, which is another attractive feature of the restaurant.
