We made a reservation for three people and arrived at 1:30 pm. We were guided to a lovely private room. It seemed that the afternoon tea was served for one group at a time. The private room was located near the restroom, which was clean and convenient. We were also able to see the courtyard. We first chose a chocolate from the showcase, and then we were served with various desserts, sandwiches, and waffles. All the items were delicious, especially the small tart with ganache and whipped cream. We could choose our tea and had refills, so we enjoyed trying different types. The tea set was changed each time we changed the tea, making it visually appealing. However, the portion for afternoon tea was too small for lunch but too much for a snack. Overall, we had a pleasant time and would recommend this place to those who love afternoon tea. Afternoon tea set for one person costs 4,620 yen including tax. Various electronic payments, PayPay, and credit cards are accepted.

I found this place in Kyoto where you can enjoy afternoon tea. It's a stylish private room where you can enjoy chocolates from a Belgian chocolate factory, all at a reasonable price for afternoon tea. The chocolate tart and gâteau chocolat are truly delicious. It's also nice that you can choose a piece of chocolate from the glass case. The cups are very cute and make you feel good. To finish, there are sugar-coated wheat crackers and green tea. It may be a bit difficult to access, but it's still highly recommended.

I enjoyed the afternoon tea I reserved. The atmosphere was very nice. Everything was delicious, but the chocolate cake was outstanding. The tea selection was extensive and you could have unlimited refills. I chose Royal Assam and iced tea because it was hot. The right amount of sweetness and aroma paired well with the food. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly, and I was able to enjoy a quiet time.

I heard that there is an Afternoon Tea with my favorite chocolate in the world, so I visited from Tokyo. It was a perfect Afternoon Tea with freshly baked hot sandwiches, waffles, and finally fuwari sweets and matcha! The tea had a variety of types and was delicious. I will definitely visit again when I come to Kyoto.

I revisited here after having some time before my meal. The cafe is located on the second floor, with a lovely staircase leading up to a charming original space that combines Japanese and Western elements. It is very quiet. When it comes to waffles, I only knew about Manneken's Belgian waffles and Starbucks' American waffles, but here they serve Belgian Brussels waffles. They were light, airy, and delicious.

Kyoto is a Belgian chocolate shop located south of Yasaka Shrine. The shop has a vibrant interior, with a cafe on the second floor. About 15 types of bonbon chocolat are neatly displayed in the showcase on the first floor. The gift boxes are also very beautiful. On this day, I took out about three types of caramel bonbon chocolat, each priced at 500 yen. They use carefully selected cocoa, resulting in a refined aroma and smooth texture. I look forward to savoring them slowly in the salon on the second floor next time.

This is a chocolate shop located near Gion in Bentencho. Founded in 1919 by Mary Delluc on 126 Rue Royale in Brussels, it is the first branch of "Mary Delluc" in Japan, which has held the title of purveyor to the Belgian royal family since 1942 (the oldest chocolate shop to do so). They offer a variety of chocolates imported directly from Belgium, and their cafe serves afternoon tea, lunch, and chocolate and cakes with drinks. The shop opened in February 2019. They have 9 stores in Belgium, 1 in Saudi Arabia, and branches in Kyoto Gion, Hotel New Otani, Ariake Garden, Takashimaya Takasaki, and Hilton Plaza in Japan. The imports are handled by Atchero Co., Ltd. It is about 11-12 minutes from Gion Shijo Station. Cross the Gion intersection in front of Yasaka Shrine, turn right, turn left at the Higashiyama Yasui intersection, and turn right on Shimokawara Street. The shop is a renovated traditional Kyoto townhouse. I visited in the afternoon. The shop is two stories high with a wide selection of beautifully packaged chocolates. They offer Bonbon Chocolates, assorted chocolates, and chocolates. The Bonbon Chocolate assortment starts from a pack of 4, and individual pieces can also be purchased. The elderly lady who served us was lovely, friendly, and helpful. She made me feel like buying a lot of things. The items I purchased are as follows (prices include tax). ● Mini boite glamour bleue (6 pieces) (3,240 yen) A box of 6 Bonbon Chocolates. The packaging with a shiny blue box and ribbon was lovely. Each chocolate was large and satisfying to eat. ・ My Lady 2022 (Lady) Dark Chocolate Mousse 48% Dark Chocolate ・ Mademoiselle (Mademoiselle) Sea Salt Caramel Milk Chocolate ・ Emmanuel (Emmanuel) Caramel Dark Chocolate ・ Majesté (Majesty) Hazelnut Paste Milk Chocolate ・ Léopold 2022 (Leopold) Almond Praline Dark Chocolate ・ Gabriel (Gabriel) Vanilla Cream Walnut, White Chocolate Shelf life is about 2 months at room temperature. [Ingredients] Sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, butter, whole milk powder, hazelnuts, cream, glucose syrup, milk, almonds, concentrated butter, walnuts, invert sugar, sunflower oil, salt, vanilla beans / glycerin, emulsifier, flavor, pH adjuster, phosphate (Na), coloring (curcumin, anthocyanin), (Contains milk ingredients, almonds, walnuts, and soybeans in some parts) I didn't visit when I went to Brussels before (I didn't know about it at the time), so I'm glad I found it in Kyoto. If I have the chance to visit again, it will probably be at Hotel New Otani.

We made a reservation for afternoon tea for three people. The small private room with a closed door allows for a relaxed and leisurely conversation. The wallpaper and interior are elegant and lovely. Before being escorted to our room, we chose a chocolate from the showcase filled with various chocolates to accompany our afternoon tea. Despite not having high expectations for a chocolate shop, the tea selection was plentiful and refillable. Instead of scones, waffles were served after the stand, but each item was small in size, so we were able to enjoy them without feeling too full. The savory items like hot sandwiches and pinchos were delicious, and the macarons were a favorite in terms of texture and taste. To end the meal in a Kyoto-style, matcha was served. The seating time is limited to 2 hours, but it feels like having the whole room to ourselves, allowing us to enjoy our time without worrying about the surroundings.

This is a chocolate shop in Hilton Plaza East in Osaka, which is a purveyor to the Belgian royal family. Yes, it's high-end. Afternoon tea for two costs over 8,000 yen. But you can enjoy it in a private room, and the atmosphere is perfect. Of course, the taste is also good. It was a very elegant holiday.

There is a shop near Gion and Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto, which is said to be the first store in Japan for Belgian royal chocolate. I imagined a Western-style building since they handle foreign chocolates, but the shop has a pure Japanese style that blends in with the Kyoto streets. Today, I had a chocolate drink and two chocolates at the cafe on the second floor, planning to enjoy them later at home. The chocolates are delicious, of course. Madame de Ryuck's chocolates are relatively affordable compared to other royal warrant holders. The box with chocolates is very cute, so it would make a great souvenir that will surely be appreciated. Thank you for the meal.

The Gâteau au Chocolat is so small and yet so high. And the fact that it costs this much for just two pieces of chocolate seems a bit expensive. But because it's delicious, I can justify the price and enjoy it! When I went for the second time, I arrived at 5:55 pm, just in time, but even after ringing the bell for attention, the staff took a while to come out. And when they finally did, I was told that it was already the last call at 6:00 pm, so I was turned away.

I went to Yasaka-san to buy chocolates for a gift from a chocolate shop. The packaging is cute and looks perfect for a gift. The atmosphere was very calm and peaceful. The staff were very soothing. I had a gâteau au chocolat and an iced coffee on the second floor. Both the coffee and the cake were of high quality. I highly recommend it. For those who are tired of Maribel, it is worth coming all the way here.

On the way to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, I found a cute shop. It's a chocolate specialty store appointed by the Belgian royal family. Since it was right after lunch, I decided to get takeout. I love Orangette. It's delicious! Next time, I want to visit again to use the cafe.

One of the chocolate brands that is a purveyor to the Belgian royal family, Madam Drijck, is located in Kyoto, so I marked it ★ When you come to Higashiyama, it's a good time to buy. There are many cute packages lined up. If you like Ladurée, you might like it too...? The staff (around the age of a store manager) was very polite and helpful. I purchased the following items: 1919 (established since the beginning), Florentine (with cute oranges on top), Marron Glacé (I was told I should buy this one), and five square chocolates with girls printed on them. The total was 2,700 yen, so it's a bit more expensive than regular chocolates. I only tried the 1919, but it had a deep cocoa flavor, not too sweet but with a strong taste. The service was also lovely, so I would like to visit again. ◎

I stopped by this lovely shop on my way back from Nishikawa-san. There was seating available inside, but I decided to get a few items to go to see the level of their chocolates. I prefer not to create unnecessary waste, so I requested no packaging at all, and they kindly served it on cute dishes. The female staff was very friendly and we had a nice chat. I ordered the "1919," made with a recipe that has been passed down for 100 years, and the "Paola." The chocolates had a stable flavor without any outstanding features. They had a typical sweetness with a hint of bitterness and lacked any distinct aroma. It was a classic and traditional taste. Since it was a takeout, I can't give a rating, but if I were to, I would say the taste is around 3.7 and the service is around 4.3.

Good evening, I am a salaryman from Minato-ku. Last week, the new coronavirus has been raging in Kansai. I saw an article in the Kyoto Shimbun saying that the main character of Kyoto's tourists has shifted from foreigners to young people, which seems very carefree. Despite the fact that many COVID-19 cases are in people under 30, what is this newspaper thinking? I'm glad I was able to go to Kansai before all this fuss. I tested negative on a PCR test. After eating a parent-child bowl, I found this shop on Shimokawara Street while heading to Kiyomizu-dera in the pouring rain. I was drawn to the sign that said "Japan's First Store" and decided to enter. The showcase displayed elegant and high-quality chocolates. Since there was a cafe attached, I decided to enjoy it on the second floor. The shop, which was renovated from an old folk house, may seem mismatched for enjoying Belgian chocolate, but it could also be seen as very Kyoto-like depending on how you think about it. The chocolate had a deep, bitter cocoa flavor with a hint of sweetness. I ordered matcha, but I finished it quickly and personally, I should have ordered coffee instead. I was able to spend an elegant moment while looking at the misty Arashiyama in the spring storm from the window. I relaxed too much and the temple I wanted to visit was already closed.

I went to Kyoto after learning about the chocolate shop Madame Drucc, which I discovered at a Valentine's Day fair. While the regular chocolates were a bit pricey, the cake set for the day was reasonably priced. The atmosphere of the shop was calm and relaxing, and there was even a space to enjoy the chocolates on-site.

This is a chocolate shop that opened in February 2019. In Japan, there are only two locations, in Gion and Hotel New Otani. It is a chocolate brand that is appointed by the Belgian royal family. I received a 3-piece set of Rouge (1620 yen tax included). The popular Glamour series with a sparkling box is a Japan-exclusive box. Another item is the Orangette, which is around 500 yen per piece. The taste of all the chocolates was delicious. This chocolate brand has been recognized by media outlets worldwide, such as "1000 Places to See Before You Die" (New York Times) and "15 Places in the World to Be Happy" (CNN). The packaging was very cute and I want to keep it as a souvenir.

I enjoyed an afternoon tea in a luxurious Western-style room that was unexpected from the traditional Japanese exterior of the building. It was delightful to be able to choose one chocolate from the showcase at the beginning. The sweet treats like macarons, as well as savory options like rillettes, prosciutto, and salmon, along with fruits, kept us entertained without getting bored. The standout was the rich and subtly sweet Gateau Chocolat with an intense cocoa aroma, truly living up to its reputation as a chocolate shop. The original cookies made with speculoos gave a taste of Belgium. The tea service offered a pot with about two cups worth of tea, and we could have refills freely. We ordered Darjeeling, Assam, and Nilgiri, all labeled as "premium," but there seemed to be inconsistencies in the strength of the brew among us. Perhaps they were transferring the tea from a large pot to smaller ones, resulting in varying intensities. Despite this, we were very satisfied with the food, and I hope they can improve the tea service for a more consistent experience. Given that it's a Belgian shop, I'm looking forward to trying their cappuccino and chocolates next time!

Chocolate that lasts for a long time is perfect for a small gift, so this shop is one of the places I often visit from autumn onwards. In the showcase, there are about a dozen types of chocolates lined up, and you can choose them yourself or ask the staff to select a certain number for you. The latter option will have them pick popular items for you. They are said to be purveyors to the Belgian royal family, and their fantastic wrapping makes them very popular with women. It costs around 1200 yen for two pieces. They will put them in a compact and beautiful box for you. There is also a café attached, so I am thinking of trying it out sometime.
