I ordered a bagel sandwich and a burger. I had the bagel sandwich, which was delicious, especially the dressing on the side salad. The burger was also good, juicy, and filling. The service was polite, but it was funny that the staff brought orders to the wrong tables a few times. It was a bit confusing that there were no pictures on the menu.

Pineapple cream soda for 800 yen. Carrot cake with a strong carrot flavor, raisins, and walnuts. The frosting is light and thick. The pineapple soda is light but has a nice sweet and sour pineapple flavor. It was too hot in Kyoto that day, so the pineapple frozen treat really hit the spot.

Lemon squash that you mix yourself. The syrup is sweet but if you mix it well, it should have a refreshing sweetness overall. I enjoyed alternating between the parts where the syrup wasn't fully mixed and the concentrated parts. It's a nice and refreshing atmosphere at the cafe. It seems like you can use it for a casual cafe visit or for a proper meal. They are open at night too, so it seems like you can use it in various ways. Expectations were met, 4 stars. On another day, I had the smashed avocado for lunch. It was delicious with spices like cumin. Also had banana cake, cafe mocha, and iced coffee. The food and desserts were tastier than the drinks.

I stumbled upon a cafe that reminded me of Australia and decided to pop in since I had some time to spare. The coffee was delicious, with an Australian twist in its name. I had a great time chatting with the staff about Australia. I look forward to coming back for afternoon coffee next time!

I came across this café in a magazine and had been wanting to visit it when I went to Kyoto. When I arrived before 11:00 on a weekday, there was only one group inside, but after 11:00 when lunchtime started, more customers started coming in gradually. I stopped by before meeting a friend, so this time I had drinks and cake instead of lunch! The carrot cake seems to be popular here, but I wanted something lighter, so I chose the daily chiffon cake. I forgot to confirm what flavor it was, but I think it might have been cinnamon. It was fluffy and delicious! The lemonade also had a homemade feel to it and was sweet and tasty. ♡- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Lemonade ¥500Daily chiffon cake ¥600♡- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I happened to find a stylish cafe in Karasuma. It's a place where you can have lunch and also enjoy it as a cafe. For lunch, I ordered a cheeseburger. The patty had a strong meaty texture, but it was balanced well with the acidity of the tomato, creating a perfect harmony. For my drink, I ordered a Charcoal Latte. When I first saw it, I was surprised by how black it was, but it turned out to be surprisingly light and easy to drink. It's addictive. For dessert, I tried a Lamington cake, a traditional Australian sweet. It's a popular sweet in Melbourne, and it was my first time trying it. It wasn't as strong in flavor as I expected, and the mint chip topping went really well with the chocolate cake! This place is also great for taking a break when you're tired from a date or outing!

It was quiet on a weekday afternoon. I was recommended the delicious hamburgers here, but I rarely come here for a meal... so I ended up using the cafe instead. I had an "Iced Coffee" but I forgot the price. It was like a Long Black style, diluted espresso. I usually like a lot of things, and this cafe was no exception. The food also looked tempting, like cafe food! It would be nice for a date, wouldn't it? I was alone, so it was a bit awkward. It's a cozy and favorite place for me (*^^*).

I found a stylish restaurant while walking by, so I decided to go in. Since it was cold, I wanted something to warm me up, so I chose a lunch menu that came with soup. When I asked the staff for their recommendation, they suggested the coffee, so I also ordered that. I think it was called "magic." If you order it with lunch, it's a bit cheaper. Today's recommended lunch set was fried oysters. Everything was delicious, but surprisingly, I really enjoyed the salad. It was packed with vegetables and very satisfying. The magic coffee had a hint of milk and a rich flavor, just as the staff had described. I would definitely want to come back to this place. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to have afternoon coffee, so I made a reservation and went. The new shop located on the first floor of the hotel seemed to be relatively empty for a holiday afternoon in Kyoto. Australian cuisine and afternoon coffee - a unique combination that got me excited. The taste and portion exceeded my expectations. I left feeling full. They also had unique drinks like bamboo charcoal coffee, which seemed to represent Australian culture in Kyoto. Even though it's a cafe in a hotel, you can use it without staying, making it a hidden gem of a cafe.

When I visited Kyoto, I decided to have brunch here. This small restaurant blends into the historic streets of Kyoto, with a simple and clean interior. The staff provided good service, and I enjoyed delicious coffee and burgers. It was the perfect brunch during my stay in Kyoto.

I entered around 12:00 on a weekday. This place is on the first floor of a hotel with a variety of food menu options, including hamburgers. I was recommended by a friend but I was already full, haha. I ordered an "Iced Long Black" and a "Cafe Latte" which cost around 600 yen each, I think. I assume it's an Australian style because of the "Long" in the name (I don't really know though, haha). It's basically espresso diluted with water, I guess? That's why it arrived slightly warm. But it has a nice aroma and I quite like the taste. The seating area seems limited, so it's not really a place for a long stay, but I like the atmosphere. It's a bit calmer area near Nishiki Market in Sakaimachi. The market seems to be getting more tourists back. It's not cheap, but they might have a morning menu as well. I'd like to try some food next time!

Inoda Coffee - Located south of Sakai-machi street, past the long line. Inside, there are large tables and four two-person tables. I had a Minoh Beer Pilsner and a cafe latte. It was rare for me to come to Kyoto by train for a walk. The shop has changed a lot.

Visited on Saturday at 11 am. There were no other customers, so the place was all to myself until I left. I secured a seat first and placed my order there. Payment was made at the counter afterwards. I ordered two items this time: a regular size hot latte (550 yen) and carrot cake (500 yen). I had been curious about this carrot cake for a while, and I finally got to try it. The frosting had a strong cream cheese flavor. The cake itself was moist, with walnuts and raisins adding a nice touch to the taste and texture. The size was just right. The café is open from 7 am and has a terrace seat that provides shade and a pleasant breeze during this season. They also have a promotion where you get a free Lamington, a traditional Australian sweet, if you order a hot drink after 3 pm. Whether it's for coffee, lunch, or dinner, I believe you can have a wonderful time at this café no matter what time you visit!

Sakaimachi Nishikigaru is a hidden gem café with a simple and stylish atmosphere that is not too high-end or too cheap. The brand of cutlery and saucers matches the concept of the hotel. While the café vibe is strong, the food menu is also quite extensive, catering even to vegans. They offer daily plates, burgers, salads, and soups, making it perfect for days when you're in the mood for bread-based dishes. The staff are always friendly and provide excellent service.

After the movie, I stopped by a cafe. The magic was similar to Gibraltar, with a strong cafe latte. It came with a limited-time lamington, a fluffy little cake that was delicious. The cafe, located in a hotel, had great hospitality.

A large and lovely cafe with big glass windows connected to the hotel next door. The drink menu is extensive and hard to choose from. Among them, I ordered a charcoal latte and carrot cake, which I had never heard of before. The latte with latte art was black! It wasn't too sweet, which I liked. The carrot cake was elegantly sized with a strong spice flavor. It was moist, and the cream on top was rich. Despite its small size, it was a satisfying cake. I had a relaxing time in the spacious atmosphere.

- Order Summary: Morning plate x2 (2,000 yen each including tax) Rating: △ - Comments: Visited for breakfast on a holiday at 9 am. The restaurant seemed to be located inside a hotel and was already full of guests who were staying there. The staff seemed confused, and even though we had made a reservation, we were told that only counter seats were available. Eventually, a table opened up, but the staff seemed flustered, so we quickly took our seats to avoid causing any inconvenience. However, even after sitting down for 5 minutes, we were not given any water or the chance to place our order. It took 30 minutes from the time we entered the restaurant until our food was served. The service was lacking, especially considering the stylish ambiance of the place. - Morning Plate x2 (2,000 yen each including tax) Rating: △ The morning menu only had one option available. The hotel's website had mentioned that we could choose our bread from Yoshida Pan, but the restaurant specified a set menu. It seemed like this was only for hotel guests. We were hoping for more variety, so this was disappointing. The plate included a main dish, bread, soup, yogurt, and a drink. [Main Dish] The main plate consisted of sautéed bacon, grilled sausage, scrambled eggs, and grilled vegetables. The vegetables looked appetizing but were already cold, losing their freshness. The vegetables included bamboo shoots, bell peppers, pumpkin, snow peas, baby corn, and zucchini, served with lettuce and watercress. The dressing had a nice acidity with hints of miso or barley, which was tasty. [Soup: Minestrone] The soup was packed with eggplant, lotus root, turnip, carrot, watercress, bacon, and various vegetables. It had a generous amount of vegetables in a cup, with a pleasant balance of tomato's acidity and sweetness. [Bread] The daily bread was a hard type with a crispy crust and chewy interior. It was served with margarine and apricot jam, offering a delicious wheat flavor. The bread was from Yoshida Pan Factory. [Yogurt] The plain yogurt had no added sweetness, paired with fresh strawberries and compote for a light touch of sweetness, with cereal at the bottom for added texture. [Drink 1: Chai] Served in a stylish glass cup, the chai had a lovely cinnamon and milk aroma, with a subtle sweetness. Unfortunately, it arrived cold, possibly due to not warming the cup or slow service. [Drink 2: Latte] The latte was beautifully presented with latte art, offering a good balance of coffee bitterness and milk sweetness. However, like the chai, it was also served cold, which was disappointing considering that lattes are a specialty of the place.

A new café has opened in Sakaimachi Street, Kyoto. This café offers coffee in the style of Melbourne, Australia, known as the café capital. The café is named "Common Well," which symbolizes a gathering place for people, inspired by the wells in the Nishiki district where food was stored. Located on the first floor of RINGS HOTEL KYOTO, the café serves special coffee brewed by skilled baristas, as well as sweets, meals for hotel guests, and lunch and dinner for the general public. I tried the Flat White (550 yen) and the Fruit Sandwich Chiffon. The Flat White is a popular coffee drink in Melbourne, made with more milk than espresso and topped with a heart-shaped latte art. The chiffon cake sandwich was filled with whipped cream, oranges, and kiwi, with a light and fluffy texture. The barista is a former world champion of latte art, so you may enjoy different latte art designs with each visit. Coffee lovers should definitely check this café out!

Visited in October 2021 ◎ No Tabelog score at the time of posting (0 reviews) ■ WEEKLY LUNCH SET 1,250 yen (tax included) * Main, salad, soup, focaccia, drink included * You can add a mini chiffon cake for an extra 100 yen. Common Well, a new cafe & diner that opened on September 28th, is located on the 1st floor of HOTEL RINGS KYOTO, serving specialty coffee in Melbourne style from 7 am. You can also enjoy coffee, hamburgers, grills, salads, cakes, and more for lunch and dinner. Today, during lunchtime, I visited the stylish cafe with full glass windows. I sat at a table for two and ordered the WEEKLY LUNCH SET. I also asked for the mini chiffon cake for an extra 100 yen! The main dish was chicken with basil sauce. It came with a hearty focaccia, a salad with Takanotsume chili peppers, and a soup made of potatoes. The potato soup allowed you to enjoy the natural flavor of potatoes, but I think it could use a bit more salt to enhance the taste. The chicken was quite flavorful with cheese and basil sauce. For the drink, you could choose from options other than smoothies. I chose lemon squash, which had a strong lemon flavor! The chiffon cake was fluffy, served with whipped cream, and had a hint of black tea and lemon flavor. With its stylish atmosphere, it seems like Common Well will be popular among female customers. Thank you for the meal.
