I heard that a new cafe opened on the back street of Ujihashi Street just before 4 o'clock on a holiday, so I went there right away. The location is behind the Kumihimo shop. At the end of a long approach, there is a house-like building. Inside the brand-new store, tea boxes and Kumihimo are neatly arranged, creating a minimalistic atmosphere. There were no other customers, so this time I had a matcha soda float. I slowly enjoyed drinking it as the vanilla ice cream melted into the soda. The store is not very spacious, so I left when two other groups of customers arrived. It seems okay to park your bicycle near the shrine in the adjacent parking lot. It's a bit tucked away, so it seems like a nice place to relax. A good new store has opened.

Matcha Roastery, another summer memory. This is a record of my visit to Uji. I actually visited Matcha Roastery on its opening day. It's been about 3 months already!? Since it was the opening day, the building was sparkling clean. Matcha Roastery is a shop specializing in roasted matcha. "Roasted matcha" is said to be the world's first drink made from roasting powdered first-flush tea leaves. During the opening campaign, if you ordered a food set, the drink would be free. My friend ordered the roasted matcha, which you can adjust the sweetness yourself and it has a fragrant aroma. The drink I had was like green tea with added carbonated water, a familiar taste for people from Kansai region. As for the food, we had sandwiches with lemon-flavored dressing. They also sold matcha dressing, but it wasn't on the sandwich. The third picture shows the croissant sandwich my friend ordered, which was torched on the spot and looked amazing. #RoastedMatcha #MatchaRoastery #Uji #UjiCafe #UjiSweets #MatchaSweets #KyotoCafe #KyotoCafeHopping #KyotoTrip #KyotoSightseeing

This cafe, which opened on February 1st, was hidden away in a cozy spot called "Sho En Kumihimo". The menu offered a variety of drinks and sweets, making it hard to choose. I decided on the Roasted Matcha Basque Cheesecake (500 yen) and a Roasted Matcha Drink (Medium) (500 yen) served hot. The Roasted Matcha Drink had a slightly bitter taste with a roasted aroma, complementing the sweetness of the Basque Cheesecake. The cheesecake itself had a rich matcha flavor, enhanced by the homemade yuzu jam and cream served on the side. The atmosphere inside was very calming, making it a lovely place to relax and enjoy delicious treats.
