On March 23, 2023, Thursday, at 6:49 PM, I placed a takeout order. Today, after enjoying delicious Chinese cuisine at Hozen in Sanjo, Kyoto, I ordered one pork and squid okonomiyaki each, a 12-piece takoyaki, and a cola as a souvenir for my family at this restaurant. Although dining in would have been much tastier, I was already full from the Chinese food, so I had the cola inside the restaurant. When I got home, I tried a bite of each dish, and the okonomiyaki from this place was incredibly delicious, even when slightly cooled. Thank you for another truly delicious meal today. Thank you, Atsushi Hamamura. If you have any feedback or questions, please feel free to leave a comment. Thank you for your continued support.

Today's lunch was at "Kaze no Ie Sanjo-ten", a teppanyaki restaurant located right across from Keihan Sanjo Station. I always pass by this place but never had the chance to visit until today. It seems like a casual spot with the option for takeout. There are food samples on display, and they offer lunch sets as well. The lunch set includes okonomiyaki, half portion of noodles, and salad. They also have gyoza, tonpeiyaki, and takoyaki. It seems like they cook takoyaki in the adjacent takeout booth. I decided to go with the "Yakisoba (pork)" for 620 yen. They also offer drinks, but it doesn't seem like a place for a relaxing drink. The counter is small, and they provide a pot of water. You can customize your okonomiyaki with various toppings. The freshly cooked yakisoba was brought to me with bonito flakes and pickled ginger on top. The cooking time was quick. The visual presentation was typical of sauce yakisoba. The thick noodles had a firm texture, but weren't too chewy. The sauce was rich but not spicy, making it easy to enjoy. Despite always passing by, the restaurant seemed quite popular with a steady stream of customers coming in.

When I visited Kyoto for the "Sumikkogurashi" stamp rally, I had a light meal at the restaurant. Our orders were my darling's okonomiyaki set and my own cold soba set. The cold soba had an irresistible taste, and I became addicted after just one bite. I decided to come back and have it again next time I visit.

Kyohan Sanjo Station Building "Kaze no Ie" - Today, as always, I had okonomiyaki. I stopped by for a quick lunch before returning from work. This place is located on the ticket gate floor of Kyohan Sanjo Station, called "Kaze no Ie." Although it's the "Sanjo branch," I'm not sure where the other branches are. This tenant has had a flour-based shop for over 20 years. It was my first visit since it became "Kaze no Ie." The counter seats-only interior gets quite crowded during lunchtime. There are seats facing the wall and seats facing the iron plate, back to back. It's a perfect place to go alone for a quick meal. Takeout is also popular and affordable, often sold out in the evening. I ordered the plate lunch for 880 yen. You can also order a la carte, but the plate lunch was a good deal. It comes with pork okonomiyaki, a mini salad, and a choice of yakisoba, yakiudon, or omusoba. I chose omusoba. The steamed okonomiyaki has a fluffy texture with yam. It's surprisingly well done. It's thick and satisfying. The finely chopped cabbage is crunchy. Mayonnaise, bonito flakes, and seaweed are added on top. It also comes with shichimi spice. The sauce is on the richer side, so you might want to ask for less. The omusoba set includes a thin omelette with lots of vegetables on top of yakisoba. It's just the right size! It was a great value lunch!

I arrived around 2:00 PM on Monday, August 3, 2020. It was my first time here. I ordered Plate Lunch A. It came with mini pork and yakisoba, and a side salad. I was very satisfied with my lunch. The taste was delicious and made me happy. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come back. I appreciate all the ingredients in this world. Calling all delicious foods♪ The more I eat, the more power overflows♪

This is a shop that I always end up stopping by before getting on the train. Even without any toppings, the flavor of the broth is delicious. If you like fluffy takoyaki, be sure to try it. There are also flavoring items on the table, so it's always enjoyable until the end. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a place inside Sanjo Station that I had been curious about for a while. It was crowded with salarymen on their way home from work. I ordered the seasoned 7-piece set for 400 yen. It was delicious even when eaten as is, with a rich dashi flavor and a fluffy texture. I also had it with beer. It made sense why it was popular among salarymen. There were condiments on the table such as sweet sauce, mayonnaise, spicy mayonnaise, shichimi, bonito flakes, and seaweed. I thought it would be nice to quickly eat and drink before heading home. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

After visiting various shops, I arrived at Sanjo Station and decided to get some takeout for dinner here! I ordered the Omusoba set (630 yen) which came with okonomiyaki, Omusoba, and takoyaki. I also got yakisoba (360 yen). When I reheated them at home, they turned out to be rich and flavorful. While they may not compare to freshly made dishes, they are a good option for a quick meal or a snack when you're feeling a bit hungry!

It is located on the basement 2nd floor of a building on the northeast corner of the intersection of Kawabata Sanjo. It is in the same building as Book Off. The nearest stations are Sanjo Station on the Keihan Line and Sanjo-Keihan Station on the subway. On this day, I was feeling a bit hungry and wanted to eat takoyaki, so I ordered it to go. It is convenient to have a store that is open all day and directly connected to the station. The takoyaki I purchased came in a pack of 7, but I think there was also a pack of 10 available. The takoyaki with yuzu ponzu flavor had green onions on top in the photo, but it was explained that the green onions were sold separately. In the box that holds 8 takoyaki, there were 7 takoyaki and a plastic case with pickled ginger in the empty space. The yuzu ponzu sauce was in a separate small container, and you have to pour it on yourself before eating. I did not ask for green onions.

Located in the underground shopping area connected to Sanjo Keihan Station, this restaurant is situated in the Keihan Sanjo Kita Building. It is on the same floor as the ticket gates, on B2, and you can see the exterior from the station floor as you approach. The restaurant offers takeout options and has a few counter seats for dining in, making it convenient for a quick meal or snack at any time of the day. The interior has a teppanyaki grill and two rows of counter seats facing the kitchen and the wall. The tables are clean, but there is a slightly greasy feeling in the air, likely due to the small space or the restaurant's long history. I ordered a set of mixed okonomiyaki and 5 pieces of takoyaki. The okonomiyaki had two types: pork and squid, and the mixed set included both. It took about 10 minutes for the dishes to be ready. Customers can add toppings like seaweed and mayonnaise to their liking. My impression of the mixed okonomiyaki was that the squid was tastier than the pork, as the latter tended to be overcooked on the surface. The okonomiyaki itself was relatively fluffy. The takoyaki contained octopus and red ginger, with no other vegetables, and had a larger, softer texture.

Wind House (Kazenoya) Sanjo Store (Sanjo / Takoyaki) November 25, 2018, 11:00, Sutee Mail When I go to Keihan Sanjo, I usually go to Book Off in Keihan Sanjo Kita Building, but this time I went into Wind House (Kazenoya) Sanjo Store located in the same building. The store is quite small with the register located outside. I ordered the pork okonomiyaki at this takoyaki shop. When it was served, there was no mayonnaise on top, so you can freely add mayonnaise and bonito flakes from the condiments on the table. As expected, freshly made okonomiyaki is delicious. The location right outside the Keihan Sanjo ticket gate is also very attractive. During my student days when I commuted to Kyoto, the area from Keihan Sanjo to Shichijo was already underground, but in the past, it was an above-ground station. It's like watching a video that makes you want to time travel to that era.

I recently moved to Tokyo and haven't been able to visit for a while, but I finally went back! Osaka-style okonomiyaki is definitely tastier! The fluffy batter paired with pork belly is amazing ☺︎ It was so delicious that it made me want to go back to Kansai soon!

Located in a convenient spot near Sanjo Keihan Station, this place serves authentic takoyaki. Surprised to find it here, I stepped in and ordered a beer. The takoyaki was crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, not greasy at all. It tasted great even without any additional seasoning, but the sauce and mayo made it even better. It was nice to be able to customize the flavor. The pickled ginger served as a palate cleanser was also a nice touch. The other grilled dishes that people were eating looked delicious too. I would love to visit this place again for some quick and tasty bites. Thank you for the meal!

Located next to a 100-yen shop near Sanjo Station on the Keihan line, this small eatery serves okonomiyaki, takoyaki, yakisoba, and more. It's a counter-only establishment with a takeout option, popular among people coming back from work. In October 2016, I visited on a crowded night craving okonomiyaki. Despite the lack of storage space for bags, I managed to find a seat in the corner. I ordered the standard "Butatama" for 580 yen, with the option to add toppings for an extra charge. Bonito flakes, seaweed, and mayonnaise were available on the table for customization. Despite being the only staff member that night, the young man working there was very polite and the okonomiyaki was delicious. In December, I returned at 6 pm to find no customers initially, but they started coming in after I placed my order. This time, I tried the "Modern-yaki" with squid for 900 yen, which was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The staff were friendly and the experience was satisfying. Although most customers were dining alone, I enjoyed eavesdropping on their orders. Overall, a great place for okonomiyaki lovers in Kyoto!

There are no food and beverage establishments in the underground area of Sanjo Keihan, and the bus terminal area above ground is filled with designer shops for tourists. If you're looking for a quick bite, this place might be suitable. The restaurant is called Kazenoya, but it doesn't seem to have any relation to "wind and moon." I ordered Omusoba, which is stir-fried noodles with vegetables and pork, topped with an omelette. The noodles are thick and steamed before being cooked on a hot plate. The taste was quite ordinary, as well as the portion size and the omelette cooking. Overall, it's a decent option for a quick meal near Sanjo Keihan.

Even though I was at work, I decided to slack off and ordered a draft beer, 7 takoyaki, and pork yakisoba. The takoyaki was slightly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The sauce wasn't too sweet, but they didn't serve pickled ginger. The yakisoba had thick noodles, which I'm not a fan of because they were too chewy. The taste was just average. Overall, considering the cheap price, I think it's a decent place to visit. The beer was delicious. I might go there occasionally.

During lunchtime on December 5, 2012, I visited Kyoto after a long time. Of course, it was a weekday so I was there for work. It was quite cold. I visited a client near Karasuma Oike in the morning and finished early, so I decided to take the Keihan train back. I walked around Kyoto on my way to Sanjo, and it was just about lunchtime when I arrived. I decided on this shop located in front of the ticket gate underground. The shop only had a counter, and it could accommodate up to 10 people. I ordered the yakisoba set meal, which was decently delicious. But when I thought about it, maybe I didn't need to eat flour-based food in Kyoto? I pondered this on the train back to Osaka. However, there were quite a lot of customers in such a small shop...

I went there last year or the year before, and it was delicious. They had various sauces and the okonomiyaki was made with a rich broth. The octopus was also quite large. You can eat in the restaurant, and the okonomiyaki is also delicious. It's slightly off the beaten path for tourists, so it's a great place to easily find delicious food.

Convenient and affordable restaurant with takeout options, located near the Keihan and subway transfer station. There was one group dining in around 5:30 pm on a holiday. They offer pre-packaged takeout items, with 3-4 options available. I bought the yakisoba for 500 yen and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The location is great, making it a convenient choice for a quick meal or dinner side dish. I will definitely use this place again in the future. Thank you for the meal!
