I decided to stop by the famous Western confectionery shop Bical Cafe in Kyoto, which is located on the first floor of a hotel near JR Kyoto Station. It was about a 5-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station to Hotel Zuiko, where Bical Cafe is located on the first floor. I entered the store directly. It was around 12:00 pm on Sunday, and there weren't many customers, so I was able to be seated right away. Since I had already eaten, I ordered a cake set with Mont Blanc and iced coffee. The dishes came out quickly. I tried them immediately, and the iced coffee was ordinary, but the Mont Blanc was delicious with its classic flavor. The cookies that came with it were also quite tasty. Cafes near JR Kyoto Station are usually crowded, so you have to walk a bit, but the advantage is that there aren't many customers, so you can relax. I used PayPay, which I charged with bonus points, for payment, so it was a good deal.

The entrance to the café on the first floor of Hotel Zuifukaku is located on the west side. There is also a Baikal cake shop in the underground shopping area Porta at Kyoto Station. I had baked cheesecake there. They also offer matcha sets and low-sugar ice cream.

Walking a little on the ground, this spacious cafe near Kyoto Station is honestly precious. Whether at the Hachijo or underground exit, I always feel like I'm forever waiting in line (with cramped seats and no peace to relax). So, a cake set from a cake shop for 1,100 yen is something you don't see nowadays. The cost performance is great.

Baikal is a French confectionery shop founded in 1955 in Shimogamo, Kyoto. The name comes from the hometown of the founder's apprentice in Lake Baikal, Russia. I didn't know that Baikal was born in Shimogamo in 1955 until I saw a shop in front of the station. While walking, I found the word Baikal on the outside of a hotel on the first floor. There was a cafe! It must have been fate that I passed by at tea time. The apple pie is a must-try, delicious for tea time. The handmade pie crust, the simmered red apples, and the crispy texture make it a blissful apple pie. It made my tiredness disappear.

This is a post about a cafe I saw on the way from Kyoto Station to the west, towards the Rihga Royal Hotel. It is located on the first floor of a small hotel. "Maritozzo Plain" for 346 yen. It is a slightly firm brioche with a hint of citrus for a refreshing taste. "Choux Cream" for 281 yen. It is made with Jersey milk, and has a soft pastry. Thank you for the meal!

Quiet and calming space! I had a morning meal here. I've bought cakes to go from this old shop before, but it was my first time visiting the shop in front of Kyoto Station. It's located inside a hotel and it's a quiet and calming space. It's a nice place where you can read a book alone or take some time for yourself, like writing in a journal.

After shopping at Isetan, I stopped by "Baikal Cafe" on my way back. This shop is managed by Hatoya Zuifukaku and is located on the 1st floor of a hotel. It is just a few minutes west of Kyoto Central Post Office. Takeout was available, and I decided to get the apple pie, which is filled with lots of red apples. I also got a chocolate apple pie. The apple pie here is really delicious and I sometimes crave it.

Before heading to the airport, take a breather. I noticed this cafe because it stood out on the main street, so I decided to check it out. It's a bit of a distance from the station, and while the coffee was decent, the price of 600 yen might be a bit high. They have a decent variety of cakes. The cafe offers a range of dishes like sandwiches, hashed beef rice, and pasta, giving off a vibe from the early Heisei era. The tables and decor also have a surprising vintage feel, almost like stepping back in time 20-30 years. The customer base is quite diverse! The apple pie is a classic style that has become popular in Japan.

I visited just before the last order at around 7:00 p.m. on Friday. - Hayashi Rice Set 1620 yen - Salad: A very visually appealing salad. I wish there was a bit more of it. - Hayashi Rice: It was delicious in a normal way. The portion size was good. It seems to be 1200 yen for just the dish. - Drink: There was a choice of drinks ranging from 600 to 650 yen for a single item. I chose the 650 yen apple juice. It felt like a place with a high-end pricing.
