The other day, I visited THE THOUSAND KYOTO, a hotel located a 2-minute walk from Kyoto Station, and went to the "TEA AND BAR" on the 2nd floor. This restaurant offers a collaboration afternoon tea between the ancient temple "Shojuin" in Uji Taharamachi, Kyoto, and THE THOUSAND KYOTO's cafe & bar "TEA AND BAR." The theme is "Green Cool Evening Tea Party," expressing early summer at Shojuin. ⭐️ Shojuin x TEA AND BAR Afternoon Tea ~Green Cool Evening Tea Party~■ Serving period 5/9-7/15■ Serving time Part 1 11:30- Part 2 15:30-■ Usage time 2-hour system■ Number of people available 1-4 people■ Reservation Reservation required by 2 days before■ Price 6,215 yen per personFood menu【Welcome Dessert】Shojuin seen from the Inome Window: Sweets representing the early summer landscape of Shojuin seen from the Inome window【Sweets】・Matcha and Raspberry Roll CakeA roll cake wrapped in framboise confit with a rose-scented matcha dough・Hojicha and Pamplemousse SavarinA parfait of hojicha syrup-soaked savarin and panna cotta・Genmaicha SanmarkA genmaicha-flavored Sanmark with a refreshing lemon acidity・Matcha and Black Soybean Tea MousseA matcha mousse with black soybean tea cream in the center・Japanese Black Tea and Cherry Monaka SandwichA monaka sandwich filled with red bean paste, Japanese black tea buttercream, and cherry concasse・Matcha and Wasanbon Chocolate Bonbon・Sencha and Citrus JellyA dish with gyokuro jelly containing fresh orange and grapefruit【Savory】Asparagus and Cherry Tomato Quiche, Salmon Sandwich, Cold Bagna Cauda【Scones】・Scones (Plain, Matcha)・Honey sauce, red bean sauceDrink menu【Welcome Drink】Summer Mandarin and Green Tea Welcome DrinkIced green tea with summer mandarin peel accent. The 7 kinds of sweets that adorn the tea stand are all made with tea, and the savory options like quiche and salmon sandwich, as well as the scones enjoyed with two types of honey and red bean sauces, were all satisfying. The view of the lush greenery from the window added to the Kyoto-like atmosphere. However, my friend who accompanied me pronounced Shijo-Karasuma as "Yonjo Torimaru." How can one cure such foolishness?
