I stopped by the restaurant Kyoto Sakana Fukuya near Nijo Castle in Kyoto while waiting for a friend who was having a job interview for a food and beverage position. The restaurant had seasonal ingredients like fresh cod, firefly squid, new onions, and rapeseed blossoms. I ordered firefly squid and grilled miso-marinated black cod, both of which were delicious. The chef was friendly, and I felt comfortable dining alone. It's a lovely restaurant that I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant around 11:45 on Sunday. The opening hours at that time were from 11:30 to 20:00. There were no other customers. I ordered the Braised Pork Belly Rice Bowl for 900 yen. It seemed like I got the last one. In the photo, it looked like a small bowl with a small portion, but it actually came in a large bowl with a normal amount. It was delicious with egg yolk, onions, and fresh sansho leaves to accompany the braised pork belly.

I chose this restaurant for dinner on a day of enjoying autumn leaves. It is a traditional Japanese restaurant with a beautiful wooden interior located just off Sanjo Shopping Street, near Horikawa Street. I enjoyed a Black Kirishima shochu highball in a charming large cup. I had a course meal which started with a tuna sashimi dish. The broth was flavorful and the dish was beautifully presented. The fried eggplant was crispy and not mushy. The watercress salad topped with salmon roe was refreshing. The sashimi consisted of tuna, sea bream, and yellowtail, served with soy sauce and black salt with bamboo charcoal. The grilled yellowtail with yuzu flavor was thick and delicious. The seafood marinade was tangy and light. The tempura of smelt fish and young corn was crispy and had a hint of bitterness. The seafood mixed rice ball was unique and flavorful. For dessert, I had vanilla ice cream. The restaurant's location away from touristy areas provided a calm and enjoyable dining experience. Address: 666-1 Hashinishicho, N Estate More Sanjo 1F, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto.

I went to the restaurant with my colleague after work. Everything we drank and ate was delicious with no complaints at all. The interior of the restaurant was very clean, and the chef who prepared the Japanese cuisine was friendly and provided excellent hospitality. It seems like a place where you can easily dine alone, so I will visit by myself next time.

At the eastern end of Sanjo-Kai Shotengai, there is a new Japanese restaurant that opened in April this year. They offer a "Kyoto Appetizer Course" with all-you-can-drink for a price of 5000 yen per person. The restaurant has a beautiful interior with 8 seats at the counter and 2 spacious tables, accommodating a total of 16 people. The dishes served include salted roe of conger eel, assorted appetizers, sashimi platter, grilled yellowtail, marinated small shrimp and sand lance fish, assorted tempura, and thickly sliced mackerel sushi to finish. Each dish has its unique flavors and the overall dining experience in this elegant setting was highly satisfying.
