I stayed overnight to see the sunset from Izushi, but I was worried if I would be able to see the beautiful sunset due to the cloudy weather on the day. However, as soon as I entered the inn, I felt comfortable on the tatami mats, and when I entered the room, I could see the horizon of the Sea of Japan. Soaking in the open-air bath was truly peaceful, and I felt like I was released from the usual world of work. Before dinner, I went to the nearby sunset path to see the sunset. Although there were still many clouds, I finally encountered the sunset. It was truly moving to see the bright red sunset shyly sinking between the mountains and clouds. I was glad I came. The view of the Sea of Japan from the hotel window, the sound of the waves, and the indescribable atmosphere were wonderful. This time, I upgraded to a room with an open-air bath and reserved a course meal. Considering the room and the food, the price was very reasonable. I have posted photos of the dinner, so please imagine it. The dinner course included plum wine as an aperitif, seared medium fatty tuna sushi, octopus and radish salad, assorted sashimi (abalone, sea urchin, flounder - especially the abalone was fresh and delicious), fruit tomato salad (the tomatoes were sweet and delicious), deep-fried abalone with salt, vinegar pickles, Kagoshima black wagyu steak, Ise ebi seafood hot pot (served instead of soup), rice and pickles. I was very satisfied with the dinner. The rice was especially delicious, locally grown Koshihikari rice. It was so delicious that I bought 10kg to take home. Sushi rice, delicious pickles, and miso soup would make a perfect meal with this rice, even though it might be a bit expensive. The local sweet potato shochu was also good, and I stopped by Kumigaura sake from the local area. The breakfast had a variety of side dishes, and the marinated yellowfin tuna was delicious. I was full and set off from Oe-yama towards Kyoto. Dinner was quite filling, even for adults. The steak could be sliced thinner instead of cubed and cooked, and it could be served with a sauce made of salt, pepper, or wasabi for a cleaner taste. It was the first time in a while that I had room service at a ryokan, and it was very fulfilling and delicious. I might come back during the crab season next time. If I hadn't seen assyassy's review, I might not have come. Thank you very much.
