The other day, I visited the newly relocated Kyoto Yakiniku Shin from Gion to Pontocho. I had been a fan of this restaurant since its Gion days, so I was excited to check out their new location in Pontocho. The restaurant is located a little north of Shijo on the Pontocho street. I prefer sitting at the counter, and the first floor had a lovely counter where they cut the meat right in front of you. The Omi beef yakiniku was absolutely delicious, with tender and flavorful meat. The chef cooked the meat to perfection. I heard that they also have a riverside dining area during the summer, so I definitely want to visit again for that experience. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, and it's no wonder the restaurant was bustling. I will definitely be back, thank you for a wonderful experience!

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant on a regular night. Pontocho is filled with foreign visitors. It's great to see the lively atmosphere back. Now, about the restaurant. The beef tongue is very popular this season. Local residents may prefer the cool indoor setting with air conditioning. I don't need fatty meat, so I requested mainly lean meat. The Omi beef has a distinctive lean and tender texture. It's delicious and refreshing. I hope more Japanese people will visit this restaurant. I will come back again.

There was a job in Kyoto, and I had a barbecue with the manufacturer by the riverside. It was quite hot that day, so I was worried about being outside, but by the time the sun set, it was just right and I didn't feel the heat at all. I enjoyed eating various parts of Omi beef, including Yukke, with garlic chips and wasabi. Rice came out in the middle, which was a bit disappointing as it wasn't asked for, but it was good to have later on. Overall, the view was nice and I think it was a good experience.

I ordered the course menu. I felt that the portion of the dishes was a bit small, so the time between dishes felt long. The meat was very delicious, and the Kyoto-style kaiseki meal was also incredibly tasty. It would be better if the drinks were served a bit faster.

The yakiniku restaurant also features a cool summer terrace where you can enjoy your meal while feeling the night breeze, a quintessential Kyoto summer experience starting from June. Recommended menu items include the exquisite Omi beef and sea urchin yukhoe for 2,948 yen, which melts in your mouth and is honestly the best yukhoe I've ever had! The Omi beef and black wagyu sashimi platter for 2,288 yen offers a combination of three different cuts - harami, momo, and tataki - each one delicious and easy to enjoy. I visited Kyoto for sightseeing and made a reservation in advance to have a meal at a riverside table. I had the Yuke bowl for 2200 yen. First, I ate it as it was, and then I added the broth for the second half. The Yuke was delicious, and the broth was also very tasty. Thank you for the meal.

Delicious meat hitsumabushi at a riverside table! Made a reservation for a cloudy Saturday at 12:00. A lunch spot run by a yakiniku restaurant using delicious Omi beef. Miraculously, there was a table available at the riverside, so we chose to sit there! The weather cleared up halfway through and it was perfect! It was a bit humid, but the coolness and the soothing sound of the river at the riverside made it feel refreshing. The neighboring restaurant was filled with foreigners, but this place was mostly Japanese from what I saw! The hitsumabushi dishes made with Omi beef from farm to table were priced at 2800 yen for the Ichibo cut and 3500 yen for the premium cut. We also enjoyed a cold beer and a lemon sour. Some may find the prices high, but rest assured, it's actually quite reasonable. And that's why it was fully booked and worth it. The combination of meat, rice, location, and service was top-notch! Simply put, being able to eat such delicious hitsumabushi with such a breathtaking view is amazing! The meat was so beautifully delicious that you can almost taste it through the photos. We were taught how to eat it properly, starting with enjoying the meat as is. It was incredibly delicious. The way the meat was cooked, the sauce, and the rice complemented each other perfectly. The Ichibo cut, from the shoulder, was my favorite! It had a bit more fat, perfect for those who are hungry! For those who prefer a lighter taste, I recommend the premium cut, it had a strong meaty flavor. For the second serving, you can add condiments provided to create your own hitsumabushi. Wasabi, salted kelp, and other condiments enhanced the flavor of the meat and were incredibly tasty. Lastly, we poured the homemade beef tail soup over the rice to make ochazuke. The sourness of the plum was amazing, refreshing for those who might feel full from the meat. You can enjoy it in three different ways and choose your condiments based on your taste, making it suitable for everyone. The food in touristy areas is not always great, but this place offers a high level of satisfaction. The meat was just so delicious that I want to come back for some yakiniku next time!

I wanted to eat meat in Kyoto and chose a lunch option. I had the "Omi beef rare cut hittsumabushi set meal" with Ichibo, a favorite cut of mine. Topped with Kyoto free-range egg yolk and warabi mochi. In one word, it was delicious! The meat was cooked just right, with a slight rareness. It had a bit of chewiness and a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness typical of Ichibo. The combination of bonito flakes and sauce between the rice and meat added a nice flavor. The simmered beef on top of the meat was also very tasty. It felt luxurious, almost unnecessary to have it on top. The broth was made from tuna. It blended well with the bonito flakes between the rice and the simmered beef. The recommended condiment is plum! The atmosphere of the restaurant and the view of the Kamogawa River were also great. My list of recommended meat dishes in Kyoto has grown. Very satisfied.

I made a reservation and was seated at a table with a view of the Kamo River without having to wait. The staff kindly guided me to my seat and explained the dishes in a calm manner. I ordered the Certified Omi beef rare cut Hitsumabushi set, a Namul assortment, and cold sake. The Hitsumabushi set, Namul, and sake were all delicious. Although the cold sake I wanted was only available on the grand menu, I was happy to try a sake from Kyoto. I went with a female friend this time, but I would love to come back with my family next time to enjoy this restaurant.

We went to Gion Kagetsu Hatsuwarai with our friends yesterday. Before that, we walked around Pontocho looking for a place to have lunch. The restaurant we wanted to go to was too crowded, so we gave up. We found a nice looking restaurant nearby that serves Omi beef sourced from Sawai Ranch. It was a local place so we decided to give it a try. Even though it was full, they prepared a private room for us. My friends and I had the beef tongue char siu rice bowl set, while our husbands had the Omi beef lean meat hitsumabushi set. The beef tongue was delicious and tender! The hitsumabushi had a rich sauce that made it very enjoyable. Adding condiments and pouring the broth over it made it even more delicious. It was a lunch that made us feel a little luxurious.

We went on a date and reserved the Tsukika course. The staff kindly accepted our request for a table with a view of the Kamo River, and we were seated in a sunken kotatsu table. We enjoyed the limited Yukke dish which allowed us to change the flavor. We love Omi beef, so the course featuring Omi beef was fantastic. We were both delighted by the deliciousness of the Chateaubriand, as well as all the other dishes. The herb salad served as a palate cleanser was a thoughtful touch, refreshing our mouths for the next meat dish. The dessert at the end was rich and delicious. I'm not good at expressing myself in words, so I hope you can see the photos. If you're going to eat, go for the Tsukika course! Highly recommended! They also have a variety of wines, and the red wine paired perfectly with the meat. This restaurant was truly amazing.

We came to this restaurant we found while strolling around, looking for a BBQ place with a cool veranda overlooking a river. We were a group of four and were told only floor seating or counter were available. We were looking for floor seating, so it worked out perfectly. We didn't do any research, just dropped in, but everything we ordered was delicious! We had Yuba salad, Kimchi assortment, Harami, Upper tongue, Kaonomi, 3 kinds of hormone mix, special Yukke, Bibimbap, spicy soup, Omi beef curry, and more. The highlights were the Yuba salad, Harami, Bibimbap, and curry. It was a bit chilly, but bearable, so I think we came at the perfect time.

There is a stylish yakiniku restaurant with a terrace along the Kamo River in Pontocho, Kyoto. There are currently three "Shin" restaurants, one of which is "Kyoyakiniku Shin." I visited for lunch and ordered the limited "Omi beef fillet hitsumabushi set" for 4,950 yen. The lunch menu offers meat hitsumabushi starting from the 2,000 yen range, so you can choose according to your budget. I also added a raw egg yolk topping. The meat was incredibly tender and the sauce was delicious. Even just the rice was delicious. I thought it was a great restaurant, so I don't want to forget it. I have visited a restaurant in Gion for lunch before, but this time I made a reservation here. The quality of the meat is high and the window seats offer a great view. You can order a serving for around 2000 yen, so it's quite reasonable. Although the atmosphere in Gion is more luxurious, the quality of the food may be slightly better there. The taste is equally delicious!

When I went to Kyoto, I just had to visit Pontocho! It's a place I really love just by walking around! And in that area, there is a restaurant where you can eat Omi beef called Shin. This was my second visit, and this time I ordered a bit less because I wasn't very hungry from having a late lunch. I ordered the Tongue, Hichu, and Ichibo, as well as the Kyoto Uni and Salmon Roe Sushi, the Ultimate Luxury Sushi Assortment, and the famous Sukiyaki Sirloin. The Tongue was tender and juicy, and the Ichibo was also delicious with a sweet and juicy meat juice after chewing. The Uni, however, was not as fresh and had a unique bitterness that wasn't very tasty. Overall, it's a bit pricey, but I thought everything I tried was delicious at this yakiniku restaurant!

When I visited Kyoto to meet my friends, we decided to try this restaurant. Normally, I opt for all-you-can-eat BBQ, but this time we chose a course menu for around 6000 yen. I was delighted that all the appetizers were meat-based, as I am a meat lover. Although we chose a relatively cheaper course this time, the grilled Wagyu beef was incredibly delicious. I would love to try a higher course if I have the chance. Unfortunately, the weather was bad on the day of our visit, so we couldn't enjoy the view as much as we had hoped. Next time, I want to try dining on the terrace.

Located in the charming Pontocho area near the station, this restaurant offers a view of the Kamogawa River while enjoying yakiniku. I went for lunch to try their Omi beef hitsumabushi. I ordered the "Omi beef special hitsumabushi set" and "yukhoe". You can enjoy the hitsumabushi in three different ways: first as it is in a bowl, then adding condiments, and finally pouring dashi over it. The high-quality marbling and tender texture of the Omi beef were delicious, cooked to a perfect rare. The sweet sauce made it very appetizing. It was fun to customize with the six different condiments. While the yukhoe was not as impressive as expected, the hitsumabushi was satisfying. The taste is decently delicious and the prices are not too high. The presentation is nice, and the location and atmosphere of the restaurant are excellent. It would be perfect to enjoy yakiniku while overlooking the Kamogawa River during the cool summer evenings in Kyoto (May to September).

It was so delicious that I almost died. It was surprisingly light but still satisfying, which impressed me. Honestly, I could have had three more bowls, and I was tempted to order another one with a poker face, but I restrained myself at this elegant restaurant. When I go to Kyoto again, I definitely want to visit this restaurant! The staff were all friendly and made the experience enjoyable.

There is a delicious yakiniku restaurant in the charming Kyoto, in Pontocho. I heard it is a branch of the Meatball restaurant that used to be in Kyoto. I wanted to visit that restaurant. This place is known for its "yakiniku on the floor" style, which is a symbol of wealth in Kyoto. Surprisingly, it is reasonably priced for a place with such a reputation.
