I heard it was delicious and since it was nearby, I decided to try it for the first time. I'm not a big fan of cheesecake, so I chose a cake I wanted to eat and was then shown to my seat. There was also someone's art exhibition inside the store. The painting of a watermelon and Mount Fuji together was impressive. I chose a cake with bananas on top for 660 yen and an iced latte for 650 yen. The cake was decently tasty. Although it was mentioned that there was a 90-minute time limit for seating due to the crowds, I ended up staying a little longer. Sorry about that. My total payment was 1310 yen.

They are striving to maintain the deliciousness of New York cheesecake. I heard that they pay attention to not compromising the flavor of cream cheese and achieving a creamy finish. I was impressed to know that there are detailed processes involved. It is exquisite.

I visited around 2 p.m. and had a vanilla tea latte and raspberry cheesecake. The tea latte had a strong milk flavor, but the bitterness of the tea balanced well with the sweetness of the cake. The cheesecake had a very rich and creamy texture. It had a layer of raspberries on top, followed by a layer of cheesecake, and then cream on top. There were over 20 different types of cakes, especially a wide variety of cheesecakes. It seems that both takeout and dining in are popular options.

I found this place while passing by the street. I didn't realize there was a shop here in addition to Imadegawa. I bought two cakes to take home as I had just finished having tea. I chose New York cheesecake and matcha souffle cheesecake. The matcha souffle cheesecake, in particular, was delicious and exactly to my taste! The photo shows them cut in half. A bit pricey though.

On Sunday evening, the place was almost full but we were able to enter without waiting. You choose and order cakes and drinks at the entrance of the shop, and pay on your way out. It seemed to be a cheesecake shop, with a wide variety such as plain, raspberry marble, New York, pistachio, rum raisin, Earl Grey, Mont Blanc, chocolate banana, and more! Apart from cheesecakes, they also had apple crumble pie, carrot cake, and others. I had the cheesecake with liquor in it. It had a rich texture but was not too sweet and the liquor flavor was not overpowering, making it easy to eat. My friend had the Earl Grey cheesecake, and mentioned that the cheese flavor was stronger than the Earl Grey, so it seems all the cakes are very rich in cheesiness. Although they are not very large, being a dessert, one was quite satisfying. I'm glad we didn't order two because it was hard to choose just one...

Papa John's, a cheesecake cafe with multiple locations near the center of Kyoto, was founded by Charles Roche from New York in 1985. The cafe started by offering cheesecakes in restaurants, and later expanded to include eat-in cafes in 1990. Papa John's is now a leading cheesecake cafe in Kyoto. Their signature "New York Cheesecake" is a perfect balance of creamy cheese with a hint of acidity, not too fluffy, and has a satisfying weight and texture typical of cheesecakes. The sweetness that emerges from the acidity is delightful, confirming its status as a staple menu item. The rum raisin cheesecake has a distinct rum flavor that blends well with the cheese cream, creating a unique and sharp taste. This particular location visited was the Rokkaku store near Nishiki Market. In recent years, Kyoto has become more known for its sweets, cafes, and bakeries rather than its temples and shrines. Papa John's stands out as a pioneer in this trend. Their decision to focus on expanding within Kyoto rather than venturing outside the city adds to the appeal of visiting the cafe.

I visited a Kyoto store for the first time, attracted by the "April limited" sign. The exterior of the store was traditional and the interior was calm. Instead of my usual cheesecake, I ordered the "Berry and Pistachio Cheesecake Tart" for 660 yen. The cake arrived looking colorful and vibrant, like hina-mochi. The fluffy cream on top was smooth and creamy. The sweetness and tanginess of the strawberries were delightful. The rich pink raspberry had a strong sweet and sour taste. The green pistachio was refreshing and slightly bitter. When eaten together, it was a perfect combination of fluffy, chewy, and crunchy. I couldn't resist trying the "Ice Cream" for 550 yen, choosing the New York Cheesecake flavor. It was a mix of rich milk ice cream and cheesecake, with crushed tart crust. The owner, who enjoys drawing, had their artwork displayed in the store. They also occasionally hold art exhibitions. Although I didn't plan on having a drink, I couldn't resist the coffee maker and ended up getting a delicious café au lait to go. The café was relaxing and satisfying. I highly recommend the April limited cheesecake as it was incredibly delicious!

*Carrot Spice ¥528 This shop is famous for its cheesecake, but the moment I found the carrot cake, I knew I had to try it! When you look at it from the top, it looks like it's already been eaten, but that's actually its original shape. Haha. Wherever you bite into, you'll always get a taste of walnuts! The cake is moist and crumbly. The frosting is thin but sticky and sweet. The spice is heavy on cinnamon, but not too spicy, so it's easy to eat. ☺️

When it comes to cheesecake, Papa John's is the place to go. Today, I visited their store in Karasuma. After much deliberation, I decided to purchase the rare cheesecake type. The cute staff recommended this for men, and I ended up agreeing with them. It was a delicious treat with a strong sweetness and mild acidity. The crust was also very tasty, which I believe is one of Papa John's strong points.

In Kyoto, although it is quite famous, I had never tried the cheesecake here before, so I went to try it. The interior of the shop had measures in place for COVID-19. I ordered a soy latte and the famous cheesecake. The cheesecake was a bit firm, a little difficult to eat, but it had a mild sweetness and was moist and rich. I liked the mild sweetness. I enjoyed my soy latte and felt cozy. The staff at the shop were also very kind. Thank you for the meal.

A relaxing break during a stroll in Kyoto♬︎♡ "Papa Jones" cafe is a place where you can unwind without having to wait and enjoy delicious cheesecakes without any restrictions. With four locations in Kyoto, this cafe offers a variety of cheesecakes that you can also take out or order online. The atmosphere is cozy, and you may spot cute college girls and foreigners around lunchtime. Some of the cakes available on the day of the visit were New York Cheesecake for 550 yen, Cherry Pie with ice cream for 750 yen, and Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake for 600 yen. The New York Cheesecake had a rich and sweet flavor, perfect for relaxing after a walk. The Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake, a seasonal limited edition, was quickly devoured by a friend. I tried the Hot Soy Latte for 550 yen, which was surprisingly good. If you want to relax with a book and enjoy delicious cheesecakes, this is the perfect cafe for you. The atmosphere is calm and soothing, especially now with fewer foreign visitors around. I felt really refreshed after my visit.

I used a delivery app for snack time. The cheesecakes were smaller than I imagined. The New York cheesecake had a crispy graham cracker crust with a hint of cinnamon, and the rich cream cheese was delicious without being too heavy. It didn't fall apart even when I put my fork in it. The pistachio cheesecake was moist and tasty, pairing well with the cream. The caramel marble cheesecake had a standout sweetness from the caramel. The classic New York cheesecake was the best, with its cinnamon and graham cracker crust that I love. It was so delicious that I wanted to eat more than one. Thank you for the meal.

I was casually walking around when I stumbled upon a new Papa John's building. Due to the impact of the coronavirus, they were only offering cakes and drinks for dine-in. I chose a simple cheesecake from the showcase, which was delicious and had the right amount of creaminess for a cheesecake. My companion ordered a cherry cheesecake tart, which was also tasty with the perfect blend of cherry tanginess and cheese. The prices were reasonable, around 300 yen. Personally, I prefer baked cheesecake, so I tend to rate baked cheesecakes higher.

At around 6:10 pm on Sunday, I was about to have dinner but ended up entering a cheesecake shop. There were two groups of customers before me. I tried the Carrot Spice Cake for 451 yen and it was as good as I expected. It reminded me of the Carrot Cake from Franz & Evans, which costs 650 yen, but the taste was almost the same. (I felt like the price difference might be due to the design and presentation of the whole cake at F&E, as it looked very stylish.) The topping seemed to be a cream made from cream cheese, which paired perfectly with the carrot cake. Maybe the reason this cake is available at a cheesecake shop is because it contains a cheese element. Since this cake has grated carrots in it, it could even pass as a dinner option (not very healthy though). This shop doesn't have a one-drink minimum, so even during dinner time when you don't need any caffeine, you can just enjoy a slice of cake, which is convenient. I will definitely come back.

I have been living in Kyoto for 2 and a half years, but it was embarrassing that I, a cheesecake lover, had never visited this place. My darling suggested going together, as it is said to be made by locals from the area, so I finally went recently. In conclusion, the classic cheesecake here is exactly to my liking. Until now, Starbucks' New York cheesecake has consistently ranked in my top three, but this place has surpassed it and reached an ideal level. Starbucks' NY cheesecake is rich and has no issues with flavor, but it tends to crumble easily in terms of texture, which is its weakness. On the other hand, the cheesecake here is moist and holds together well when pierced with a fork, and the flavor is rich and meets the standard of a NY cheesecake. While there are seasonal and various other options (such as chocolate and strawberry in February), the classic one is still the best. It's now my new No.1. Thank you for the delicious meal.

A small shop in Kyoto, Karasuma. When I was looking for a good place for lunch and couldn't find one, I suddenly saw the word "Lasagna" and was drawn to it, so I decided to go in. The shop had a cozy, homey atmosphere with a warm wooden touch. Since I was dining alone, I sat at the counter. There were several lunch options available, but I went with the lasagna, ordering it as a single item without any sides. After a short wait, the lasagna arrived! I was surprised to see it served with tomato sauce, as I had imagined it being crispy from the oven. But it looked delicious! I dug in. The tomato sauce had a strong acidity and flavor, which made the taste of the lasagna sheets and cheese a bit subtle. Overall, it was a slightly light lasagna. It wasn't heavy, and I enjoyed it all the way to the end. However, I felt like I couldn't fully taste the richness of the meat or cheese, so it left me slightly wanting more. Personally, I wished for a more robust aroma from the cheese and lasagna sheets, as well as a richer sauce. I haven't had tomato sauce lasagna much, so I wonder if the umami tends to be weaker in this type? Nonetheless, it wasn't bad at all. I later found out that this shop is famous for its cheesecake. I'd like to try the cheesecake next time I visit.

I visited around 7:00 PM on Saturday. Since the last order is at 7:30 PM, there were no other customers. I tried the Sour Cream Banana Cheesecake for 550 yen, and it was as delicious as I expected. The quality was reassuring. Even though it was night time, I felt like having coffee or tea. I didn't order a drink because I heard it was not mandatory, but later I saw the drink menu and noticed they even had decaf versions, which I found very convenient. I decided I would come back again.

I went to buy the cheesecake originated in Kyoto! \(^o^)/ When it comes to gluten-free New York cheesecake, Papa John's in Kyoto is the place to go. This time of year, they also have pumpkin Mont Blanc on display, so I couldn't resist getting some to take out. You can also eat in at the shop. I'd like to come back for lunch next time. The showcase is full of various cheesecakes and Halloween sweets. The classic New York cheesecake is moist and rich. I actually preferred the pumpkin Mont Blanc because it was lighter. It's a specialty shop, so you should definitely visit at least once! \(^o^)/ If you have time, come visit Princess Cinderella's blog too! https://pricin.exblog.jp/28671342/

Visited in July 2019 and posted on Tabelog with a rating of 3.41 (from 18 reviews). I was planning to go to a different restaurant for lunch with a drink on a weekday, but it was unexpectedly closed. So, I decided to visit this place nearby, "Papa John's Rokkaku store." I thought it was a cafe, but they also serve curry and lunch. Today, I was planning to have curry, so when I saw a picture of curry on the menu board outside, I decided to go in. The restaurant has a stylish atmosphere, and I sat at the counter. There were two types of curry (chicken or vegetable), and I chose the vegetable curry. It came with a drink, and I chose apple juice. First, I had a salad with sweet cherry tomatoes. The curry had a variety of vegetables like eggplant, onion, potato, carrot, bell pepper, pumpkin, shimeji mushrooms, and parsley. It had a strong coconut flavor, which I wasn't used to at first, but it became delicious as I ate. It wasn't very spicy at first, but it gradually became spicier towards the end. The brown rice was cooked firm, so you had to chew it well. The curry had less rice, so by the end, I had leftover curry sauce. The apple juice was delicious, probably not 100% juice, but still good. I would like to try the "New York Cheesecake," which won the 2018 Local Food Grand Prix Gold Award. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

I wasn't originally planning to go to this shop, but the nearby shop had a wait time of over an hour. I was unsure what to do, but luckily this shop was nearby and not crowded, so I decided to stop by! I ordered the matcha cheesecake, while my companion ordered the matcha marble cheesecake. Both were simply delicious, but nothing particularly outstanding.
