Evening visit. The number of fresh cakes was low, but they all looked delicious, so I bought all the ones I had never tried before. ● Rouge 550 yen A mix berry mousse coated with strawberry chocolate, topped with whipped cream, blueberries, and strawberry macaron. Delicious from every angle! ● Fruit Roll 630 yen I always thought roll cakes at cake shops were reasonably priced. But this fruit roll was more expensive than Rouge. However, after trying it, I understood why. The sponge and cream had an elegant taste, with an abundance of seasonal fruits and a generous portion of roll cake. The topping in the shape of Mogu-chan's hand was made of white chocolate. ● Caramel Pudding 290 yen Described as vanilla pudding with caramel sauce. My husband tried it and said it was delicious. The previous review's title was "Delicious Vanilla Cheesecake and Shortcake," but I'm sure all the cakes are delicious! I will definitely go back when I have the chance!

In April 2023, I visited a small cake shop. They offered cakes, Mocoron (a type of macaron with a chewier texture), cream puffs, pudding, and baked sweets. Despite the recommendation of their Mont Blanc cake, I decided to try two different items: - Vanilla Cheese Cake (550 yen): I was skeptical about the combination of vanilla and cheese in a cake, but it turned out to be delicious. The flavors complemented each other well, and the simplicity of the cake's appearance made it a suitable classic item. - Sakura and Strawberry Shortcake (620 yen): This cake featured sakura cream and sakura chocolate flakes, along with strawberries. My husband enjoyed it a lot. In August 2023, I visited the shop again and this time tried the following: - Peach Shortcake (620 yen): The seasonal variation of the shortcake was incredibly delicious, with excellent sponge and cream. - Setouchi Lemon Cheesecake (590 yen): A limited-time item that my husband found to be very tasty. - Fruit Tart (650 yen): Topped with an abundance of seasonal fruits, this tart was a hit with my fruit-loving daughter. - Caramel and Apple Pound Cake (260 yen) - Wasanbon Financier (220 yen): Light and perfect for a post-meal dessert. - Mogu-chan Cookie (200 yen): Shaped like the shop's character, Mogu-chan, this cookie was a delightful treat with a crispy yet moist texture. - Hojicha Galette (200 yen): A light and enjoyable treat. Overall, the cakes and sweets from this shop were delicious, and I look forward to returning for more treats in the future.

I ordered a birthday cake for my companion's birthday. The chef who made it has worked at the Ritz-Carlton and Aman, and has won many awards in pastry contests. My companion loves shortcake, but since strawberries aren't tasty this season, I asked for a cake with lots of peaches instead. The cake, made with domestic ingredients, had a light and moist sponge cake with a slightly sweet whipped cream that was easy to eat even in the hot weather. It was a delicious cake with a high level of completion. The visual appearance was cute and we were very satisfied. We brought it to our favorite beer bar and enjoyed it with champagne and the regular customers, having a great time.

I ate peach shortcake, Setouchi lemon cheesecake, roll cake, and Rouge shortcake and cheesecake. The shortcake had high-quality whipped cream and sponge cake, very fluffy. The cheesecake was also delicious, showing the skill of the patisserie. I want to go back and buy more.

I checked out this place because it was featured on Yoi Don. The pastry chef is from The Ritz-Carlton and Aman Kyoto. I couldn't buy the recommended Rouge cake or Mont Blanc today, but I bought some baked goods instead. - Apple Pie (400 yen): I reheated it the next day and it was still crispy and fragrant, with plenty of apple inside. Highly recommended! - Mocoron Orange (210 yen): A slightly puffy macaron at a reasonable price. - Yuzu Sablé (2 pieces for 200 yen): Delicious with a strong yuzu flavor, recommended for those who like tangy treats. - Financier (220 yen): Smaller than usual but dense and rich in buttery flavor. I love that butter is the first ingredient listed. The baked goods are affordable and delicious, so I will definitely come back for more.

A natural sweets shop run by a pastry chef with experience at Aman and Ritz. They actively participate in contests and have won many awards. The cakes are delicious and beautiful. You can taste the dedication to quality ingredients and high level of skill. I think the prices might be about 20% higher than average in town, but it's worth it. I love it and will definitely be a regular customer.

On January 15, 2023, I visited MOGU Kyoto! It is a natural patisserie with a theme of domestic ingredients, featuring a cute pink exterior as its landmark. The owner chef, Katsuhiro Nakano, previously worked at Park Hyatt Tokyo, The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, and Aman Kyoto before opening MOGU on February 9, 2022. The store is small and can only accommodate 2-3 people at a time, offering a selection of carefully chosen basic confectioneries. The name "MOGU" actually refers to the owner chef's pet cat, which serves as the mascot of the shop! The strawberry shortcake features a sponge made from domestic wheat, topped with strawberries and cream from Hokkaido. The Chantilly cream has a light texture, making it easy to distinguish from the cake base. The Rouge Pandojennu consists of a berry mix and strawberry mousse on a pastry base, covered in strawberry chocolate. The berry accent adds a nice touch without making it overly sweet, making it all delicious to eat. Located right near Keihan Marutamachi Station, I hope it becomes even more popular in the future!

"A person who used to work at Aman Kyoto has started their own patisserie, Mogkyoto, as my daughter informed me after checking Instagram. The name 'MOGU' comes from the adorable name of the owner's cat. The cat occasionally appears on the shop's Instagram with its cute, round eyes! The exterior of the shop is a charming small pink building with a cat sign as its landmark. Upon entering, you will find a small showcase on the left side filled with cakes, and on the right side, shelves displaying baked goods. The shop is run by a young woman who is very knowledgeable about the products and provides accurate answers to questions. My friend and I initially thought she was the owner, but she clarified that she was just a part-time worker. Impressive! It's not easy to find such a skilled and knowledgeable part-time worker. The shop allows photography, making the selection process enjoyable. This time, we tried the Hyuganatsu tart, macarons, cat-shaped cookies, and pound cake. The pound cake stood out for incorporating Japanese ingredients. The cat-shaped cookies were so cute that it felt like a shame to eat them. We also tried the signature Mocoron, a delightful treat with a crispy and fluffy texture, filled with various flavors. I chose the sweet bean butter flavor, which was my favorite. The highlight for me was the Hyuganatsu tart with its fresh aroma, balanced sweetness, and tartness. The tart crust was just right, not too heavy or sweet. It was a delightful treat with a perfect blend of sweet and salty flavors and a great texture. The seasonal fruits used in the desserts change, so I look forward to trying the Hyuganatsu tart again next year. Unfortunately, I didn't have photos from another lovely bakery I visited before Mogkyoto, so I had to skip that review. I plan to visit both places again together next time. Thank you for the delicious treats!"

I aim for the bakery I'm looking for and walk around Kyoto. The weather is sunny again today! (*´∀`)ノ yay As I pass by near the Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant "Madame Hongran" in Kyoto, I come across a cute patisserie that has just opened♡ It's a small shop. "MOGU Kyoto" is the name of the place. I heard that the pastry chef used to work at "Aman Kyoto" before opening this shop. The interior of the shop is so small that it's cramped when two people enter. But the warmth of the wood and the light pink exterior create a warm and fancy atmosphere(•͈⌔•͈⑅)♡ The lovely cakes are lined up one by one. Since I have some time before moving, I choose cakes that are less likely to get ruined. - Strawberry Tart 590 yen A crispy phyllo pastry with almond cream and custard cream on top. And fresh strawberries on top, creating an adorable visual♡ The small strawberries were sweet and delicious♡ I love strawberries(๑´ڡ`๑) And then, their specialty. - MOGU Choux 250 yen A crispy cookie dough with black sesame mixed in. You can enjoy the difference in texture between the choux pastry and the sesame sablé. The mildly sweet custard cream is also delicious. There were many other cakes I wanted to try, but I wasn't confident in carrying them around, so I just got two for now. The apple tart and the classic shortcake also looked delicious♡ Discovering a new shop is always exciting! Thank you for the meal (*´▽`人)

I visited the shop on Thursday afternoon, February 17, 2022. I happened to pass by on my bicycle and noticed it. It seems like a new shop. There was one customer in front of me, so I had to wait a bit before entering. Inside, there were various pastries displayed, but I ended up buying a shortcake, a Mont Blanc, and a cheesecake. When I got home, my wife and I tried them, and the Mont Blanc was a big hit. The shortcake was also good. The cheesecake had a bit less of a cheesy flavor. Overall, it was delicious.

While strolling along Maruta-machi Street, I stumbled upon a newly opened dessert shop! It seems like it just opened two days ago. I went inside the small shop, and although they didn't have a wide variety, the showcase displayed delicious-looking cakes and cream puffs. I decided to get the following: - Strawberry Tart - MOGU Choux The Strawberry Tart was filled with plenty of strawberries, a lightly sweet custard cream, and almond cream in the middle, which all combined to make it very tasty. The price was a bit on the higher side at 590 yen, but considering the generous amount of strawberries, it was worth it. The MOGU Choux, named after the shop, had a fluffy pastry filled with a lot of custard cream and topped with sesame shortbread, which added a nice touch. Apart from what I purchased, other items like the Apple Tart, Mont Blanc, and Rouge cakes looked really appetizing, so I would like to stop by again when I have the chance. Thank you for the delicious treats!

Today, February 9th, I visited a newly opened store. Luckily, there was no line outside and I was able to enter the cozy and cute store without waiting. The store had friendly staff members. I bought a strawberry tart (590 yen), a hojicha eclair (380 yen), a shortcake (590 yen), and a yuzu chocolate (590 yen). When I got home, I tried them and found that they were not too sweet, had a slightly elaborate design, and were delicious. Among them, the strawberry tart was especially delicious in terms of taste and texture. (#^^#)

Recently, cake shops have been delicious but the portions are small. However, this place offers large, cute cakes at a good price. The Mont Blanc was a bit too sweet for my liking, but the apple pie was a hit. Also, the baked goods I bought were delicious, so I would like to purchase them again.

Finally purchased from Mogu-san. The chestnut Mont Blanc for 620 yen, the bracken mochi roll for 530 yen, the vanilla cheesecake for 550 yen, and the Mogu choux for 280 yen. The choux cream puff has a soft pastry with a two-layer filling of custard on the bottom and fresh cream on top. The cream is really delicious! The Mont Blanc has a crispy meringue base, a rich chestnut paste center, and a lighter Mont Blanc cream on top. It's a satisfying treat with a strong presence. The bracken mochi roll was my favorite. The matcha flavor has a hint of bitterness rather than just aroma. The cake is incredibly light and fluffy. The cheesecake was quite heavy. Although the surface was decorated with cream, it could have been a bit smaller or had a more distinctive accent to make it enjoyable all the way through.

It's a small shop, but it was filled with cleanliness and deliciousness. I bought a Mont Blanc made with Japanese chestnuts, and my wife was very satisfied. It's a taste that I like, so I want to visit this shop again.

It's a cute little sweets shop. Despite its small size, they had a wide variety of baked goods and cakes. I bought the Uji matcha opera cake this time. It was delicious with rich matcha flavor. The decoration on the cake was also cute.
