・Chocolate Tart ⏩ The rich bittersweet chocolate mousse is divided into two layers, with a perfect balance of sweetness and density. The tart crust is crispy and delicious, with a satisfying crunch when you bite into it. The overall balance is just perfect.
・Strawberry Tart ⏩ The crunchy tart crust is delicious, and the creamy whipped custard or cheese mousse has a light and fluffy texture. The gentle sweetness of the custard or cheese mousse enhances the sweetness and acidity of the strawberries. The strawberries are sweet and delicious, with a light texture but a rich whipped cream. Another encounter with a delicious strawberry tart.
・Galette des Rois ⏩ The outer layer is crispy and flaky pastry. The design of this galette des rois is lovely and unique. Did you know that galette des rois means "king's cake"? It is a French pastry that has become more popular recently. Sometimes, it is decorated with a crown or drawings, symbolizing its name. The almond cream filling is generously packed inside. The taste is elegant, not too sweet, with a moist interior and a crispy exterior. It's fun to discover different textures and flavors in galette des rois from different shops.

Located quietly off the main street of Kagurazaka, this stylish cake shop exudes a cute and Ghibli-like atmosphere from its exterior. The shop is small, with beautiful cakes lined up in the showcase. Surprisingly, the cakes are quite large in size, which is reflected in the slightly higher prices compared to regular cake shops (600-800 yen). This time, I chose the Paris-Brest for 680 yen and the plain croissant for 380 yen. The Paris-Brest is a cake similar to a cream puff with a generous amount of praline cream. The cream is rich, smooth, and incredibly delicious. The choux pastry is also appropriately crispy, providing a delightful texture contrast. Personally, this cake is right up my alley. The croissant not only impressed me with its beautiful appearance but also with its gentle sweetness and buttery aroma. It's quite rare to find a cake shop that sells such delicious bread. Although the cheesecake, which I heard is also delicious, was unfortunately sold out due to the previous customers, I would definitely like to challenge it again.

Cheesecake, so delicious. It might be my favorite cheesecake I've ever had. It was firm and rich, with a hint of lemon that added a refreshing acidity and a subtle bitterness from the lemon peel. The cookie crust at the base was moist and crumbly, delicious on its own as well. I was so sad when it was gone so quickly. I wished I could have savored it forever! The day I went, the shop happened to be closed, but there is a cafe nearby that allows you to bring in cakes, so you can enjoy it leisurely. But even sitting on a bench outside and eating it was a rich experience. It was just so delicious!

I visited a shop located in a back alley of Kagurazaka, where the owner was speaking French with a friend at the entrance, creating a charming atmosphere. I ordered the "Paris, Brest Passion Date (Citrus)" dessert, which was delicious. Although there was no seating inside, the owner kindly provided a fork so I could enjoy it at a nearby cafe, which was unfortunately closed that day. I ended up enjoying it at a table outside. Thank you for the meal, and thank you for the experience.

Located next to the Agnes Hotel and Apartment, which is now closed in Kagurazaka, this patisserie is a charming spot where you can find authentic French pastries. During weekday afternoons, you won't find long lines, but you will see elegant ladies visiting constantly. The friendly staff recommended their seasonal limited edition Princess Momo Passion Dedé fig tart. They also have standard options like Cassis Vanilla and Pistachio, with the newest addition being the Shibuusto. While there is no seating available, you can bring your treats to enjoy at the nearby Gallery Café Pulse if you order a drink there. The pistachio tart was impressive with its large Sicilian pistachios and fluffy sponge-like texture. The cream had a delightful pistachio aroma, and the strawberry compote inside added a nice touch of acidity. The colorful, shiny, and smooth appearance of the cakes at this patisserie was truly striking. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.

Visit on 9/13/2023 (Wed) at 14:14. There were no other customers in the store. There were no sold-out items either. It was my first visit, so I tried the recommended Tarte Citron (720 yen). Normally, you can eat in at the cafe two doors down, but it was closed for a private event on this day. I decided to enjoy my tart on the bench outside. The Tarte Citron had a lemon and yuzu cream in the tart, with the white cream on top being meringue. While this is probably how it's supposed to be, I felt that the meringue on top was too room temperature and didn't quite match with the tart crust and citrus cream underneath. The shop itself is located in a quiet area just a short walk from Iidabashi, and I was able to enjoy my treat in a pleasant atmosphere.

There is no seating space in the shop, but you can order drinks at the gallery & cafe next door and enjoy them there. I ordered a Passion fruit and Praline & Espresso Coffee tart for eating in, and a Canele and Croissant to go. The Passion fruit tart had a tropical flavor as soon as it entered my mouth, with the aroma and taste of passion fruit spreading. The milk chocolate mousse and coconut decorating the edges were also good. The addition of yuzu in the center brought out a different acidity, making it very delicious. Personally, I really like coffee-flavored sweets, so I ordered another cake which was a bit too sweet and heavy for me. The chocolate flavor overpowered the bitterness of the espresso, so it would have been better if the espresso was stronger. Also, the tart crust was quite firm, and it was a struggle to eat it without breaking or bending the plastic fork. There were other delicious-looking cakes on display, so I would like to visit again.

This is a patisserie located in the Agnes Hotel, which was originally in Kagurazaka but acquired by Rikadai University. The chef at the time was French, and I tried the Mont Vert instead of the usual Mont Blanc. It had a twist with cassis, and it looked very appealing.

I visited around 5 pm on a weekday at Kagurazaka in Iidabashi. The place has a nice atmosphere with a display of baked goods and cakes at the counter. There were a few items that caught my eye, so I decided to try the Cherry Sable Praline and Espresso Coffee Tart. I got them to go. The Sable had a strong flavor, with a mix of cherry acidity and overall sweetness that made me crave tea or coffee. The Coffee Tart had a typical coffee-chocolate flavor, but the tart crust and crispy topping added a nice touch. While I didn't feel the urge to have it again, there were other items that caught my interest, so I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

There seems to be a place nearby where you can eat in, but it closes at 5:00 pm. So, I got my desserts to go.
- Sicilia (750 yen) ☆3.5
The top is a pistachio-flavored mousse. It uses plenty of butter giving it a rich taste. It was okay on its own, but when eaten together with the refreshing strawberry jelly inside the pistachio mousse, it becomes delicious. The pistachio flavor is strong and the strawberry complements it well. The quality of the ingredients may be the reason why the aftertaste was a bit heavy.
- Passion Dete (750 yen) ☆3.5
The white chocolate mousse with yuzu and passion fruit cream has a sharp sourness that is quite refreshing. The coconut hidden in the dough adds a tropical aroma when you bite into it. The crumble base also has the flavor of passion fruit. Overall, it is a harmonious tropical flavor with depth.
- Praline Espresso Coffee Tart (730 yen) ☆3.7
I chose this because it was recommended by the chef and written on the POP, and wow, the espresso cream's bitterness is deep and rich. It also has a strong milk flavor, similar to a cafe latte. The butter is just right. The tart base has a hint of cocoa when you bite into it, and the nutty aroma of praline. The crunchiness is also good. It's a bit heavy, but I recommend it to coffee lovers. Overall, the aftertaste is slightly heavy. I visited because it was selected as one of the top 100 shops. I have mixed feelings about whether it's a top-notch shop, but I was satisfied today because the Praline Espresso Coffee Tart was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I received a croissant from a female colleague at work! It's more like a patisserie than a bakery! There are so many delicious shops in Iidabashi to Kagurazaka that it's hard to decide where to go! I got chocolate and pistachio flavors, and the filling was so creamy, making it a perfect snack croissant. It was deliciously crispy. Even after a day, it still tasted great. Gourmet reviewers on Tabelog pay attention to the plates they use for their bread and cakes photos, so I followed suit and placed mine on my favorite plate. Looks beautiful~.

Here in Iidabashi, the prices are still top-notch as always. The Gâteau is not bad in terms of ingredients, but it's still quite expensive. I ordered a Chiboust, Earl Grey, and Canelé. The fact that I haven't posted about it until now says it all, I guess.

Le Coing Vert is a patisserie located in Kagurazaka. The chef, Patrick Lemel, offers a variety of vibrant and unique French pastries and breads. The name of the shop, "Le Coing Vert," means "green corner" in French. It opened in September 2019. Lemel has an impressive background, having worked as the executive chef of the pastry department at Maison Kayser in France and taught at Le Cordon Bleu's pastry course.
The location is about a 3-5 minute walk from Iidabashi Station. It is situated in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of Kagurazaka's center. The shop is housed in a stylish two-story building with French flags displayed on the walls and trees outside, creating a charming atmosphere.
While the shop is primarily for takeout, customers can enjoy their treats on the benches outside or take them to the nearby Gallery Cafe Pals (with a drink purchase). The shop offers a selection of petit gateaux, cakes, viennoiseries, bread, and baked goods, as well as seasonal items like ice cream.
The popular items include the vivid green "Sicilia" made with pistachio cream, the large "Mont Blanc," and the colorful croissants. The staff is polite and friendly. During a visit, the reviewer purchased the Lemon Tart, Speculoos cookies, and Semolina Orange cookies. The Lemon Tart was described as refreshing with a balanced mix of lemon cream, meringue, and almond slices.
Overall, the reviewer had a pleasant experience at Le Coing Vert and recommended it for those looking for high-quality French pastries in a charming setting.

Today, I visited this shop. It is about a 5-minute walk from Iidabashi Station. This shop is selected as one of the top 100 sweets shops in Tokyo by Tabelog. The shop is quite small and there is no seating area. When I asked the staff if I could eat in, they told me that there is a nearby cafe where I can order a drink and enjoy my dessert there. I purchased the following: Praline Espresso Coffee Tart for 730 yen and Princess Peach for 580 yen. I went to the nearby cafe and ordered a hand drip coffee for 600 yen. The cakes were very delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went to buy a cake for a gift and noticed that the shop has been selected as one of the top 100 sweets shops in Tokyo in 2023! I tried the Cassis Vanilla Sicilia cake. I really wanted to try the Princess Momo cake... It was my first time trying Cassis Vanilla, and the combination of berries and vanilla inside was a perfect match! It was delicious...

At Iidabashi Station. When you go up the slope next to the Tokyo University of Science Building No. 1, it is at the end on the left. I visited after the Obon holiday and unfortunately they were closed for a week, but I was able to enter without any accidents today. They were selling ice candies, maybe because of the season, but I had to give up on them as I came specifically for the canelés. Today's purchase: Canelé 310 yen x 2. These canelés are larger than those at other stores. You can enjoy both the outer and inner parts. I like the subtle rum flavor. Among the many canelés that can be strong-smelling and have a strong taste, the canelés at this store are exquisite. The texture of the inside reminded me of eating high-quality rolled omelette. Thank you for the meal.

The Agnes Hotel Tokyo in Kagurazaka has closed down. However, the patisserie "Le Coing Vert Patrick Lumele" continues to operate independently and has been selected as one of the top 100 sweets shops in Tokyo for 2023. I purchased the Earl Grey (730 yen) and Mont Veil (830 yen) pastries. I tried the Earl Grey, which was delicious with its Earl Grey and milk chocolate mousse. Total cost: 1,590 yen. Rating: 3 points. Would definitely like to visit again!

I visited a shop located near Waseda Street, right after crossing the Kagurazaka-shita intersection to the left from JR Iidabashi Station West Exit. The shop was facing the Wakamiya Park in Shinjuku Ward. I arrived around 5:10 pm on a weekday and found a few customers inside. There were several cakes left in the display case, with some popular ones almost sold out. The pastries on top of the case seemed to be continuously baked and added, with most options still available. I considered getting some ice cream due to the hot weather, but it was sold out, so I ended up buying cakes instead. The prices were a bit on the expensive side. I purchased two items, including a Paris Brest and a Far Breton (Prune). I enjoyed the Paris Brest with its praline cream and hazelnuts, while the Far Breton had a unique texture with a hint of sweetness from the prunes. Overall, the shop provided a satisfying experience with high-quality pastries.

This place was selected as one of the top 100 sweets shops. I hadn't been eating much sweets before the sweets shop rankings came out, so I didn't really feel like going. This place offers traditional sweets made by a French pastry chef. It's quite traditional and a bit heavy, but delicious. Kagurazaka is known for having many French restaurants due to the French school located there. This place would be a great souvenir to bring back after experiencing a taste of France in Japan.

I went to Kagurazaka for some errands. On the way back, I stopped by this place, which has been selected as one of the top 100 shops. I had heard that the Agnes Hotel, which used to be here, had closed, but it was my first time seeing it up close. It looked like a deserted building. I have memories of staying there, dining at the restaurant, and enjoying the tea room. Now, right next to it, I found this place. They had beautiful cakes on display, but I didn't have the confidence to carry them home in the scorching heat. However, I found a Fabletongue (350 yen) in the top right corner of the showcase. There were two flavors, apple and prune, so I got one of each to go. When I got home, I brewed some iced tea and enjoyed the apple one. It was filled with plenty of cooked apples and had a hint of liqueur. The one with powdered sugar on top was the apple flavor. I prefer it to be a bit chewier. It's like a softer version of rice cakes. I would like to come back and try their cakes when the weather cools down a bit.

The cakes on display were very glamorous and beautiful. I bought a cheesecake and Mont Blanc to go. Although a bit pricey, they are made with carefully selected high-quality ingredients. Each cake was delicious. My son's birthday is coming up, so I reserved a whole cake. Looking forward to eating it. There is a coin parking lot right in front of the shop, making it convenient for those who come by car.
