I had just visited this place two months ago, but I couldn't forget the deliciousness of the negiyaki I had before, so this time I tried the betayaki, which I had never had before. The sweetness of the vegetables was brought out and it was very delicious. Of course, the harami and ajillo were also delicious. The seasoning was not too strong, and I think it had a Kyoto-like flavor. The location in Kiyomizu-Gojo had a great atmosphere that I really liked.

Checked out Dancyu's Kyoto special feature and visited for the first time. Before that, I stopped by Daikoku-yu nearby to freshen up. I was guided to the counter in the center where a group of three regulars sat on both sides. Starting with Akahoshi to replenish the lost fluids from the sauna, I enjoyed kimchi and gizzards, and the main event was the grilled mix. Enjoying the live performance at the counter with great dishes is the best!

The shop owner's commitment and sense shone through in this wonderful shop. Despite being understaffed that day, we didn't feel like we were waiting too long and were able to enjoy our meal smoothly. The spicy sauce was applied just right, not too spicy, just perfect. The fluffy okonomiyaki was absolutely delicious.

The owner of Ogawatei is said to go drinking there, so I checked it out on Danchu. The oysters were cooked just right, and the rolled omelette had a strong broth flavor with pickled ginger as an accent, which I thought was a perfect combination with alcohol. What impressed me the most was the grilled leeks, they were so delicious that I couldn't remember if they had ever tasted this good before. The broth was well infused and really brought out the flavors of the ingredients. Not using sauce was the right choice. I would like to visit again late at night or for a second round.

Okonomiyaki, okonomiyaki with pork, grilled offal, and more - surprisingly, Kyoto is a B-grade heaven. Among them, in terms of the beauty of their work, this place seems to be the best compared to many renowned restaurants. It's not like the impressive performances at high-end steak restaurants, but rather a place where the focus is on cooking really delicious food. Enjoying a variety of grilled dishes packed with meticulous work, finishing with okonomiyaki or grilled noodles, adding grilled thin noodles on top, and still feeling a lingering attachment to okonomiyaki and grilled green onions, while tipsy, wandering into the alleys of Miyanokawa-cho is pure bliss.

The cost performance is good, and the seating is only at the counter. Every dish was delicious, and I ended up getting full on side dishes alone, so I didn't even make it to the okonomiyaki, haha. I tried various teppanyaki dishes, but my favorites were the pork okonomiyaki and dashimaki. The teppanyaki dishes are made right in front of you, so I often found myself ordering what the customers next to me had ordered, haha. It's open late at night, so I would like to use it next time as a place to go for one more delicious dish to finish the night!

A teppanyaki restaurant located in a back alley of Miyagawa-cho. The interior is clean and well-maintained. Ordered the thin-sliced beef for 800 yen, pork belly for 900 yen, and beef tripe for 950 yen. All dishes were delicious and safe choices. The pork belly had plenty of cabbage which added sweetness and went well with the thick sauce. Knowing about such hidden gems for a second stop is also a good idea.

It's a bit hidden in a narrow alley. This is a counter-only shop. The friendly atmosphere and delicious food make it a must-visit place. The meat is so delicious, and the tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) is also fantastic. The location may be a bit intimidating, but it's highly recommended. I would like to be with someone who appreciates this kind of place.

When it comes to Kyoto, people often think of Japanese cuisine, but there are also many great Western-style restaurants and unique Chinese restaurants in the city. However, it can be difficult to find a place for a light drink and snack in Kyoto, especially if you are already full from trying out various foods. In such a situation, I recommend "Atsu," located in a hidden alley in the geisha district. The restaurant has a large iron griddle where the owner, a quiet artisan, prepares delicious dishes. We started with a cold beer and enjoyed an omelette with broth, which surprisingly made a great snack. The owner then cooked minced meat and gizzards with onions, which paired perfectly with our drinks. We couldn't resist ordering more food, such as pork kimchi and chicken gizzards, along with some whiskey highballs. We ended the meal with a delicious mixed okonomiyaki. Despite claiming to be full, we devoured everything on our plates. Such restaurants are truly special, and it's easy to see why they have many regular customers. I may not be a local, but I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This is a teppanyaki restaurant where you can enjoy not only Okonomiyaki but also dishes like grilled squid, grilled shrimp, ajillo, and choy sum. The dishes we had on this day are shown in the images. The dashimaki was particularly impressive, but all the dishes were delicious. - Only 6-7 counter seats available. - No partitions or dividers. - The atmosphere was quite lively, so masks were worn at all times. - We left the restaurant with fewer dishes than planned. - Ventilation was strong, so we managed somehow. Thank you for the meal. We will revisit when peaceful times return. Menu: - Pork Yakisoba - Grilled Squid with Green Onions - Beef Fillet - Egg - Ajillo - Shrimp and Zucchini Drinks: - Red wine x 1, White wine x 2, Beer x 3

Located between Keihan Kiyomizu-Gojo Station and Gion-Shijo Station, this is one of Kyoto's traditional entertainment districts with a charming old-town atmosphere. I visited a new casual dining spot in Miyanokawa-cho, where you can enjoy teppanyaki dishes prepared by a renowned chef until late at night. It was a September evening in 2020, still filled with the lingering summer air. I started with a Sapporo Red Star beer (600 yen) and potato salad (400 yen), and ordered the pork okonomiyaki (700 yen) and the Negiyaki with plenty of Kyoto vegetables and Kujyo green onions (900 yen) with a choice of soy sauce or sauce for the beef. The owner, a quiet and skilled man who worked at the famous Gion restaurant "Kana" for over ten years, provides excellent and friendly service when engaged in conversation. I paired the Negiyaki with Fushimi's "Tsuki no Katsura" junmai ginjo sake made with Kyoto-grown sake rice "Iwai". The aroma of the Kujyo green onions and the Tsuki no Katsura sake from Fushimi left a lasting impression. The original "Atsutsu label" was also memorable. The small restaurant has only a teppanyaki counter, creating a lively atmosphere as you watch the cooking unfold right before your eyes. In addition to the dishes mentioned, they offer various options like okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and yakisoba noodles, as well as a la carte items such as chicken steak, rolled omelette, ajillo, sausages, and meat dishes. They also serve beer, wine, sake, and soft drinks. The restaurant is open from 6 pm until late at night, making it affordable and accessible. Although smoking is allowed, this is a great spot to enjoy teppanyaki dishes refined at the renowned "Gion Negiyaki Kana", selected as one of the top 100 restaurants on this site. It is a good place to visit, just a 5-minute walk from Keihan Kiyomizu-Gojo Station and less than 10 minutes from Gion-Shijo Station. Since the owner carefully prepares each teppanyaki dish alone, be sure to visit with some extra time on your hands. I definitely plan to visit again.

I visited on Sunday, May 17, 2020. It is located in Miyagawa-cho in a charming building. The interior of the restaurant is clean and you can relax at the counter. The okonomiyaki was fluffy and deliciously sweet, it was amazing. The yakisoba was also incredibly tasty and outstanding. The menu is diverse and everything is cooked carefully. The owner is a cheerful person and it's fun to be there. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will definitely go back. I appreciate all the ingredients in this world. Calling all delicious foods♪ The more you eat, the more power you get♪

Kyoto Miyagawa-cho is one of the traditional geisha districts where a traditional townscape stretches from Keihan Kiyomizu Gojo Station to Gion Shijo Station. A new casual dining restaurant specializing in teppanyaki dishes, prepared by a well-known chef, has recently opened in "Miyagawa-cho". The owner, a quiet man with over 10 years of experience at the famous Gion restaurant "Kana", has a solid skill and sense. While he may seem reserved at first, he is friendly and engaging in conversation when approached. The menu features okonomiyaki, negiyaki, yakisoba, yakisoba, betayaki, as well as dishes like young chicken steak, dashimaki, and ajillo. Wine, sake, and soft drinks are also available. I started with a glass of Akahoshi and ordered the dashimaki and the famous negiyaki from the owner's previous restaurant. Although I was already full when I visited, I enjoyed the fluffy texture and the flavor of the dashimaki and the aroma of the negiyaki. The owner remembered me from my previous visit and mentioned that he recognized me from my review on Tabelog. This time, I visited on a full stomach, so I did not score the food, but I recommend you refer to the photos and text for more details. The owner's skills, honed at the popular restaurant "Gion Negiyaki Kana," shine at this new teppanyaki restaurant. The skilled chef's hands-on cooking, late-night hours, and reasonable prices make this place attractive. Due to the meticulous preparation of teppanyaki dishes, be prepared for some waiting time and visit with plenty of time. I also look forward to visiting again.

After finishing dinner, we returned to the hotel but later in the night, my husband and I felt a bit hungry. We hadn't eaten a proper meal, and my husband had been drinking less than usual, so we decided to have a little something to eat. I remembered reading a review about a reasonably priced teppanyaki restaurant nearby that was open late at night, so we decided to check it out. It was past 11 pm, but when we opened the door, there were no other customers. We asked if they could accommodate two people, and they welcomed us in. The restaurant had a small counter with about 8 seats, and we were seated in the middle. We started with a cold beer and iced tea for a toast. The beer was ice-cold, and my husband was in a great mood. We quickly finished our drinks and ordered yakisoba (with squid) and okonomiyaki (with pork) to share. Just then, a beautiful geisha entered the restaurant, seemingly meeting someone. She sat right next to us, and it was quite exciting. Soon after, a regular couple also arrived, making the atmosphere lively. The owner was the only one running the restaurant. They took our order and prepared the dishes accordingly. They started with our yakisoba, then cooked the okonomiyaki on the teppan while also grilling some negiyaki next to us. The yakisoba was saucy with plenty of cabbage and squid, while the okonomiyaki was soft and delicious. It was a delightful and tasty late-night meal. Overall, it was a fun and enjoyable experience. Ease of reservation - Likelihood to revisit: ★★★ Thank you for the meal!

One of the traditional streets in Kyoto, with a traditional townscape stretching from Keihan Kiyomizu-Gojo Station to Gion Shijo Station. A new restaurant has opened in "Miyagawa-cho", where you can enjoy teppanyaki dishes prepared by a skilled chef from a famous restaurant until late at night in a casual atmosphere. The owner of the restaurant has been honing his skills for many years at the renowned Gion restaurant "Kana". Based on this information, I visited the restaurant and was satisfied with the okonomiyaki and yakisoba, which were delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant is a compact space with only a counter. They offer drinks such as Sapporo Black Label draft beer (600 yen for a medium) and Sapporo Red Star bottled beer (600 yen). I ordered the pork okonomiyaki (700 yen) which was fluffy and very delicious. The yakisoba (with squid for 700 yen) was also delicious as it looked. The menu consists mainly of okonomiyaki, negiyaki, yakisoba, yakisoba, betayaki variations, as well as dishes such as chicken steak, rolled omelette, and ajillo. They also offer a variety of sake, wine, other alcoholic beverages, and soft drinks. The male owner is quiet but polite and friendly. The potato salad (400 yen) prepared skillfully on the teppan in front of the counter was also very delicious. The only downside was that smoking is allowed, but I left Miyagawa-cho feeling satisfied. The restaurant is located in a narrow alley off Shinmiyagawa-suji, about a 5-minute walk from Keihan Kiyomizu-Gojo Station. A new restaurant opened by a former popular restaurant "Gion Kana". Visit "All Teppan Atsutsu..." where you can enjoy until 4 am (until 12 am on Sundays and holidays). I didn't give a score this time, so please refer to the photos and text. Since it was a one-man operation this time, it is recommended to visit with plenty of time.

Since the okonomiyaki restaurant I used to go to closed down, I have been searching for a delicious replacement. Most places I tried were disappointing, but Atsutsu turned things around for me. The Butatama was incredibly delicious, with tasty batter and sauce. The meat was easy to cut with just a push of the spatula. I also ordered the dashimaki, which was cooked right in front of me on the hot plate. It was also delicious. I will definitely be going back!
