On January 11, 2023, I visited "Pelican Cafe" in Asakusa, Tokyo for the first time! This place was featured on the nostalgic "Arashi ni Shiyagare" gourmet segment. I finally got to go there! The dish that was actually featured on TV was the "White Cheese Toast". Although the price had gone up since the broadcast, I felt that the bread was fluffy, the cheese was not too overwhelming, and the price was reasonable. You can add a fresh salad, potato salad, or soup to any item. Of course, you can also just order the bread alone. The price increases depending on what you add. I added a fresh salad. I went on a weekday, so I was able to get in relatively quickly! Depending on the time and day, it may get crowded, but the turnover is fast so you probably won't have to wait too long. The bakery "Pan no Pelican" seemed to be by reservation only, so I'll try to visit again another time. #20230111 #PelicanCafe #PanNoPelicanIsAlsoNearby #WhiteCheeseToast #10MinuteWalkFromKaminarimon

Before heading to the Happon Bridge Shopping Street, we had lunch here. Since there were two of us, we ordered the charcoal-grilled toast and iced coffee set, with marmalade jam for today. We also ordered a side of potato salad, and my partner got a fruit sandwich. The charcoal-grilled toast was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the butter on top soaked in nicely. The jam was not too sweet, balancing well with the butter. The potato salad was generous in portion and tasted satisfying. The fruit sandwich was presented on a plate in the shape of bird feathers, looking cute. The cream was not too sweet, blending well with the fruits and bread, making it very delicious.

I used it for lunch. The fruit sandwich and today's sandwich were sold out, so I ordered a ham cutlet sandwich and an iced cafe latte. The crispy bread and thick ham cutlet match very well and are very delicious.

I visited the restaurant around 12 o'clock on a regular day, and there were only two groups inside, so I was able to enter without waiting. Although I originally planned to get a fruit sandwich, the toast of the day looked too delicious to resist, so I ordered that and got the fruit sandwich to go. It turned out to be a fantastic decision because the toast was incredibly tasty. The bread was sweet and had a perfect balance of ingredients that created an amazing flavor. The bread was baked over charcoal, so it had a crispy yet chewy texture that was just perfect. It's no surprise that the eggplant and pork were delicious, but the olives were a really nice touch. I usually don't like olives because they are sour, but the ones here were sweet and mild, and they added a necessary element to the dish. The fruit sandwich was also delicious with sweet fruits. The staff were friendly and the whole experience at the restaurant was lovely.

I used it for lunch. When I arrived at 11:00 on a weekday, there were many morning customers and it was crowded. I was able to order the lunch menu starting at 11:00, so I chose the soup of the day and toast set. It was served in about 15 minutes. The soup was a cold pumpkin soup, slightly spicy and delicious! And the toast was made with pork loin, eggplant, and tomato sauce, all on Pelican's bread, which was also very delicious! As lunchtime approached, more and more people came, showing that it is a popular restaurant.

In Asakusa, there is a bakery called "Pan no Pelican" that has been baking only shokupan (white bread) and roll bread since 1942. Their bread is loved by many people regardless of age or gender, and I am a huge fan of their shokupan. Six years ago, they opened a cafe called Pelican Cafe in Tahara-cho, where you can enjoy toast and sandwiches made with Pelican bread. I recently tried their takeout menu, which includes sandwiches, soup, jam, and tea. I purchased their Pelican Cafe original blend drip coffee, which was smooth and easy to drink with a good balance of richness and bitterness. It would pair well with their bread. Although the cafe is usually crowded, I was able to find a seat before 10 am on a weekday, so it might be a good time to visit. I hope to dine in at the cafe when I have more time.

Visited on August 31, 2023, at 10:50 AM. "Pelican Cafe" is operated by the famous bakery "Pelican" in Taito-ku, Tokyo, which has been selected as one of the top 100 bakeries in Japan. Today, I went on a shopping tour with my beloved daughter and son number 2 after a long time. We purchased bread at "Pelican" and then moved to their affiliated cafe. Arrived at 10:35 AM, but the cafe was already full with 2 people waiting. We wrote our names down and passed the time outside by looking at the menu and taking photos of the exterior. After about 15 minutes, we were seated. While waiting, we had already decided on our order. Until 11:00 AM, they serve a morning menu. Today, we ordered the "Charcoal Toast Set ¥750" with orange juice, "Ham Cutlet Sandwich ¥870," "Fruit Sandwich ¥1,000," "Iced Coffee ¥630," and "Iced Tea ¥600." We shared them among the three of us♪ The fruit sandwich made with Pelican's bread was fluffy, and the combination of whipped cream and fruits was excellent. The charcoal toast was simple but tasted even better with butter. As expected from Pelican bread. The ham cutlet sandwich had thick ham cutlet, toasted bread, and a perfect harmony of sauce, which we all agreed was delicious♪ The drinks were also tasty. Since it's a cafe by Pelican, it's recommended to enjoy meals and light snacks using their bread rather than just having tea. Everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Living in Asakusa, I often come across Pelican bread in various places, like a local bakery that has been around for a long time. When friends visit Asakusa, they often bring bread or butter rolls as souvenirs, or stop by a cafe. Today was one of those days, and my friend and I had breakfast together. My friend had a ham cutlet sandwich, but I didn't take a photo of their food. I had a fruit sandwich for 1,000 yen and a hot coffee for 580 yen.

Cafe Series Tokyo Edition - Pelican Cafe in Tahara-cho, 2nd visit. The bread here is delicious above all else. Had toast and coffee for breakfast ☕️ Today it was strawberry jam. Crunchy and delicious. Also got a fruit sandwich to go. Looking forward to it. Starting September, they will be open on holidays too. Very grateful.

I visited just before noon on a weekday and there was no wait time! The atmosphere inside the restaurant is bright and cozy. The ham cutlet sandwich for ¥870 was delicious. The pelican bread baked over charcoal had a nice aroma, and the ham cutlet had a satisfying texture. It was very tasty! The satisfaction level at this price point is high.

I arrived at the restaurant at 3:30 pm on a weekday. As I was looking at the menu in front of the shop, the staff approached me and said, "We can seat you right away." There were three groups of customers ahead of me, and popular items like fruit sandwiches were already sold out. I ended up ordering an egg and ham toast, while my companion ordered an azuki butter toast. The food was served in 10 minutes. The egg and ham toast had a nice balance of saltiness and paired well with the bread. The azuki butter toast was quite sweet, with maple syrup drizzled on top.

I arrived around 11:30 on a weekday and was able to enter right away. After much deliberation, I chose the fruit sandwich. I regret not going with someone else so we could share both the sweet and salty flavors. But if you're confident in eating a lot, you might be able to order both and finish them. The coffee had a tangy taste that paired well with the fruit sandwich.

I visited around 9:20 am on a weekday and had to wait for about 2 groups ahead of me. I was probably able to get in around 9:40 am when the first group finished. On the other hand, I was seated right away around 10 am, so I think it's a good idea to aim for either the first round or 10 am for a weekday morning visit. The fruit sandwich had a variety of fruits and the cream was not too sweet, making it easy to enjoy. It was really delicious. If I were to be a little greedy, I was a bit hungry and the price was around 1,000 yen, so I would have been happier if it had a bit more volume. But it was really delicious.

Pelican Cafe in Tahara-cho, part of the Cafe Series Tokyo edition, is a popular spot where I picked up a fruit sandwich to go this time. I wish I could have stayed and enjoyed it leisurely, but it was crowded from the morning (which is expected for a popular place), so it was takeout only. The bread was delicious, and the balance of fruits and cream was just right. It looked good and the portion was perfect. It was also nice to find a cherry on top. I enjoyed it with someone else. I look forward to trying it in-store next time.

Today, my family and I went on a little sightseeing trip to Asakusa. I remembered toasting a Pelican bread from a different shop before, so we decided to visit Pelican Cafe for the first time. There was a wait for one group, and it turned out to be a 40-minute wait (--;) The interior of the cafe was beautiful and cozy. As for the order, we got a fruit sandwich, ham and egg sandwich, menchi katsu sandwich, and bread crust. When I had it at home before, I remembered the crispy texture, but the ones made in the cafe had a soft texture? It was delicious~!

Cafe using bread from the bakery "Pan no Pelican" in Kuramae. Located right next to Pan no Pelican, it's recommended to visit during the waiting time. Kuramae has many stylish shops and cafes, making it enjoyable to explore. Visited on a Saturday afternoon. Arrived after 1 pm and was able to enter without much wait. Ordered the following to share between two people: - Today's toast (Chili con carne cheese toast) - Fruit sandwich - Small roll bread sandwich (egg) They divided it for us to make it easier to eat. Some menu items were already sold out, so it's better to go early if you want to choose popular items. The fruit sandwich had a delicious cheese cream with a mild sweetness. *Payment possible with various credit cards.

I was able to enter without waiting in line after 1 pm on a Friday in July. The staff at the shop were all very nice. After much deliberation, I ordered the fruit sandwich for 950 yen. The bread, fruit, and cream were all delicious. It's a shame they didn't offer a drink set discount.

During a weekday cafe visit, I was able to find a compact cafe with around 10 tables available. It seemed to be a popular spot as there were many foreign customers, creating a lively atmosphere. I ordered the Ogura toast and an iced cafe latte. The toast, made with thick and soft bread from Pelican, was delicious. They also had a variety of meal-like toast options that seemed filling enough for lunch, so I'd like to come back for lunch next time. The prices were also reasonable, not too expensive.

Today was hot, so I enjoyed an iced tea while waiting for a takeout ham cutlet sandwich. The place was crowded early on. The ham in the sandwich was thick and delicious. And the bread, well, it's Pelican bread, so you know it's good. The shop also has many cute Pelican bread-related goods. I'm interested in those too. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos.

I went for a morning activity. Before the opening, there were already about 80% of customers waiting for the store to open. I ordered the charcoal-grilled toast set and today's soup. I have tried Pelican bread before. It has a nice texture and tastes delicious. I wanted to enjoy it simply with butter and jam on charcoal-grilled toast. The butter was at the perfect temperature to melt on the toast. The soup was a cold potato soup. It had a refreshing and smooth texture rather than being chunky. The coffee had a slight bitterness that paired well with the bread. The morning activity was delicious. The Pelican logo is simple and lovely. Thank you for the meal.
