Although the price had gone up since the broadcast, I felt that the bread was fluffy, the cheese was not too overwhelming, and the price was reasonable. Before heading to the Happon Bridge Shopping Street, we had lunch here. Since there were two of us, we ordered the charcoal-grilled toast and iced coffee set, with marmalade jam for today. We also ordered a side of potato salad, and my partner got a fruit sandwich. The charcoal-grilled toast was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the butter on top soaked in nicely. The jam was not too sweet, balancing well with the butter. The potato salad was generous in portion and tasted satisfying. The fruit sandwich was presented on a plate in the shape of bird feathers, looking cute. The cream was not too sweet, blending well with the fruits and bread, making it very delicious.

I usually don't like olives because they are sour, but the ones here were sweet and mild, and they added a necessary element to the dish. The fruit sandwich was also delicious with sweet fruits. The staff were friendly and the whole experience at the restaurant was lovely.

I was able to order the lunch menu starting at 11:00, so I chose the soup of the day and toast set. It was served in about 15 minutes. The soup was a cold pumpkin soup, slightly spicy and delicious! And the toast was made with pork loin, eggplant, and tomato sauce, all on Pelican's bread, which was also very delicious! As lunchtime approached, more and more people came, showing that it is a popular restaurant.

In Asakusa, there is a bakery called "Pan no Pelican" that has been baking only shokupan (white bread) and roll bread since 1942. Their bread is loved by many people regardless of age or gender, and I am a huge fan of their shokupan. Six years ago, they opened a cafe called Pelican Cafe in Tahara-cho, where you can enjoy toast and sandwiches made with Pelican bread. I recently tried their takeout menu, which includes sandwiches, soup, jam, and tea. I purchased their Pelican Cafe original blend drip coffee, which was smooth and easy to drink with a good balance of richness and bitterness. It would pair well with their bread. Although the cafe is usually crowded, I was able to find a seat before 10 am on a weekday, so it might be a good time to visit. I hope to dine in at the cafe when I have more time.

Visited on August 31, 2023, at 10:50 AM. "Pelican Cafe" is operated by the famous bakery "Pelican" in Taito-ku, Tokyo, which has been selected as one of the top 100 bakeries in Japan. Today, I went on a shopping tour with my beloved daughter and son number 2 after a long time. We purchased bread at "Pelican" and then moved to their affiliated cafe. Arrived at 10:35 AM, but the cafe was already full with 2 people waiting. We wrote our names down and passed the time outside by looking at the menu and taking photos of the exterior. After about 15 minutes, we were seated. While waiting, we had already decided on our order. Until 11:00 AM, they serve a morning menu. Today, we ordered the "Charcoal Toast Set ¥750" with orange juice, "Ham Cutlet Sandwich ¥870," "Fruit Sandwich ¥1,000," "Iced Coffee ¥630," and "Iced Tea ¥600." We shared them among the three of us♪ The fruit sandwich made with Pelican's bread was fluffy, and the combination of whipped cream and fruits was excellent. My friend had a ham cutlet sandwich, but I didn't take a photo of their food. I had a fruit sandwich for 1,000 yen and a hot coffee for 580 yen.

If I were to be a little greedy, I was a bit hungry and the price was around 1,000 yen, so I would have been happier if it had a bit more volume. But it was really delicious.

Today, my family and I went on a little sightseeing trip to Asakusa. I remembered toasting a Pelican bread from a different shop before, so we decided to visit Pelican Cafe for the first time. There was a wait for one group, and it turned out to be a 40-minute wait (--;) The interior of the cafe was beautiful and cozy. As for the order, we got a fruit sandwich, ham and egg sandwich, menchi katsu sandwich, and bread crust. When I had it at home before, I remembered the crispy texture, but the ones made in the cafe had a soft texture? It was delicious~!

They also had a variety of meal-like toast options that seemed filling enough for lunch, so I'd like to come back for lunch next time. The prices were also reasonable, not too expensive.

Today was hot, so I enjoyed an iced tea while waiting for a takeout ham cutlet sandwich. The place was crowded early on. The ham in the sandwich was thick and delicious.
