I visited "Dandan Cafe" located in the countryside of Kyoto, surrounded by greenery with only tea fields in sight. They used to require reservations for meals, but now it's first-come, first-served. They open at 10 am, but lunch starts at 11 am, so I aimed to arrive around that time. It was already full, but we were seated right away after someone left. I had the chicken cutlet for lunch, with a choice of white rice or corn rice. I chose the corn rice. The side dishes were vegetable stew and German potatoes, with miso soup and pickles. A small jelly was also included on the plate. After eating, I bought gelato to enjoy on the way back. The refreshing fig sorbet and rich sweet potato gelato were delicious. It's nice to have a leisurely lunch while admiring the countryside scenery. There's also Nanshancastle Michi-no-Eki and Yabuccha-no-Yu (hot spring) nearby, which I recommend visiting.

There is a parking lot available. Inside the restaurant, there are window seats with beautiful views, regular table seats, and terrace seats. The window seats with a view are first-come, first-served, so even if they are empty, you cannot move from a regular table seat. However, the food was delicious with a gentle taste and easy to eat. The parfait was also delicious.

It is a healing cafe where you can only go by car, with a view of tea fields while enjoying matcha sweets and lunch. I visited around 1 pm on the weekend, but was told there was a wait of over an hour, so I only got gelato to go. The matcha flavor was very rich, and eating gelato in nature was exceptionally delicious.

The cafe is located next to a tea plantation, offering a view of the fields from inside. The interior is not very spacious, so it tends to get crowded, but you can relax outside while waiting if the weather is nice. There is a parking lot across the street. The matcha parfait was delicious! 🍵🍨

Wow!! Amazing!! Cheers erupted. The cafe is crowded but the view is definitely worth seeing. It's really incredible. A mini trip. There are 7 parking spaces in front of the shop. I want to avoid causing inconvenience to the locals. There were many foreign visitors. I wonder if it's in the guidebook. The parfait had granola instead of cornflakes, and it was finished with a refreshing fruit jelly. Various things are wonderful.

I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for a long time and finally went during Golden Week. Despite being quite far from Kyoto Station, it was crowded with a 15-minute wait just to park and over 30 minutes to get inside. There were many foreign tourists there too. The view when I arrived at the parking lot was breathtaking, and I enjoyed taking photos. The scenery changed dramatically on the way here, making it a must-see destination. Inside, I sat at the counter and enjoyed the view while savoring a matcha parfait and iced coffee. The matcha parfait was amazing with two types of matcha gelato, matcha pudding, matcha chiffon cake, matcha mochi, matcha crumble, and matcha cookies. The matcha was carefully made and delicious, sourced locally from Wazuka. It was my favorite matcha parfait I've ever had. If you visit this place, you must enjoy matcha as it's a must in Kyoto. You can also get the gelato and drinks to go if the restaurant is busy. I later found out that there is a heart-shaped matcha crumble inside as a special surprise for one person each day. Unfortunately, I didn't get it, but I was more than satisfied with the view and matcha experience!

Enjoy a refreshing lunch while admiring the beautiful tea terraces. The menu offers a daily special, omurice, or curry lunch, with the daily special including several side dishes. The cost performance is good, and the service is friendly to customers, including those with small children. The atmosphere is quiet and serene, with a beautiful view of the terraced fields.

I visited a hidden gem of a shop in the mountains around 3 PM for a little break. I ordered a double scoop of ice cream - matcha and rich matcha flavors. The terrace seating offered a great view of the tea terraces. Eating ice cream with such a wonderful view was delicious!

Hana Soku is a tea house called "Chagenkyo." It is a famous cafe located on a mountain where there seems to be no other transportation besides cars. I made a reservation in advance because it would be tragic to come all the way here and not be able to get in. The parking lot was full, but when I mentioned my reservation to the staff, they kindly made space for me (priority for reserved guests). Luckily, I got a seat by the window with a fantastic view! The lunch that came out was also delicious! I couldn't stay long because there were many people waiting outside, but it was definitely worth coming all the way here! It was such a wonderful restaurant experience.

I used it on a tour of Kazoku-cho. The timing was a bit off, so not everything was lush green, but that's also valuable, right! I had Japanese sweets and tea (ice cream). The taste, including the scenery, was delicious. I didn't take it, but I also ate gelato sold here. I ordered a strong matcha (twice the normal matcha) and as a matcha lover, I could feel the bitterness more than usual and it was delicious! I might come back just normally. Thank you for the meal.

I went to experience making tea soba noodles and tea picking in Wazuka. We visited the "Ishidera Tea Plantation," which is the iconic spot in this area. This café was featured in an article about Wazuka town. The café has a stunning view, so there were many people waiting in line. I decided to buy cold-brewed green tea and enjoy the view while drinking it. The taste of this cold-brewed green tea was completely different from the green tea or sencha I usually drink. In addition to the grassy flavor of tea, there was something lingering on the palate that was different from bitterness. It also seemed to have a thickness to it. It was a mysterious taste that was not as refreshing and light as I had expected. When visiting this town, I have more opportunities to drink tea, including tasting, but this cold-brewed green tea had a unique taste that I couldn't find elsewhere.

I went out for a ride on my ZZR and stopped by here for a snack after lunchtime. The view of the tea fields in this area is lovely. I decided to get a gelato to go, and I chose a double scoop of seasonal sakura and rich matcha flavors. I enjoyed it on a bench by the roadside while admiring the tea fields. The matcha flavor was delicious. After enjoying the view, I went on a beautiful cherry blossom tour. I also visited another cafe where I had coffee and chatted for a couple of hours before heading back on my solo trip of 309 km. Great day!

I visited before 11 am on a regular day. In front of me, there was a vast tea plantation, providing a great sense of openness. The counter seemed to have reservations, but when I expressed my wish, they kindly and with a smile said that it was okay until 12 pm. Thanks to that, I had a very satisfying lunch time.

Opened at 10 o'clock. I arrived early and was the first in line. The exterior looks a bit plain, but the interior is beautiful. Managed to get a premium counter seat by the window overlooking a tea plantation. Ordered a sencha set and a matcha set. The matcha was delicious. The sencha was self-served using a teapot. The view of the tea plantation from the window was fantastic. Enjoyed handmade gelato on the way out, with rich matcha and red bean matcha flavors. By the time I left, the wait was manageable.

I came here to relax and relieve eye strain, enjoying tea with a like-minded person while looking at the green tea fields. We shared two servings of gelato (equivalent to one serving per person). We each ordered herbal tea with tea leaves, reading about the blend and its benefits as we savored it. The green tea fields and mountains looked beautiful, reassuring me that my mind was still okay. Thank you for the meal.

Did you know that Uji's fine tea is made in Wazuka? I wanted to visit this cafe because of its location. A friend recommended it to me, and when I actually went, wow! There were tea fields everywhere! The route from Kintetsu Nara to Umemidai had a peaceful atmosphere and was nice. As the name suggests, Dandan Cafe is located a bit higher up. It was a hot weekday, but it was very popular! The parking lot was full, and there was a waiting line one after another. It's such a popular place! The daily lunch was reservation-only, so I thought it might be impossible, but when I asked, they said they still had some available, so lucky me. I waited for about 30 minutes. The tea fields in front of me were stunning! It could be a setting for a movie... "Kyoto's first designated landscape asset." It's chosen as a scenic spot! That's why everyone is visiting here. The deep greenery was so soothing and relaxing! I went to see the magnificent scenery, but it was too hot, so I took refuge in the car early. Finally, I entered the cafe. I was so indecisive! The dry curry looked delicious. The parfait also looked tempting. But since we came all the way to Wazuka, I suggested going to another place, so I ended up with the dry curry. The dry curry came with a salad and topped with an egg. It was ¥990. It had a slightly spicy and vegetable-rich, gentle keema curry. The hungry ones finished it all. The parfait was a bit too much, so we shared gelato instead. It was a combination of hojicha and rich matcha. It was so delicious on a hot day. The cafe was small, but customers kept coming in, so we decided to make space quickly. We bought the gelato and enjoyed it outside. The hojicha and rich matcha were indeed intense and delicious. It would have been perfect if we could have stayed a bit longer. Next time, I'll try coming at a different time to aim for the parfait. Thank you for the meal!

An elegant cafe in a peaceful rural area! You can enjoy your meal or coffee while looking at the fields. When I visited around 2 pm, it was quite empty. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant music was playing! The staff, who was alone, provided good service! I had reserved the daily special, so I could still have it at 2 pm. The sesame-fried mackerel was wonderfully fragrant and delicious. The side dishes were also great. ⚠️It seems that you need to make a reservation by the day before, so be careful⚠️ They also sell gelato at the register, and it seems you can enjoy the cafe too, so I definitely want to go to the cafe next time.

I came on the regular holiday twice and once during the parking lot expansion construction break, so I really wanted to come when it was open. Finally, my wish came true. The parking lot is now easier to enter. The view from here is wonderful. I was seated and ordered a hojicha latte, matcha pudding, and a double scoop of hojicha and strong matcha gelato. The strong matcha gelato was really rich and delicious, but because it was so strong, I couldn't really taste the hojicha gelato at the bottom of the cup, which was a bit disappointing (laughs). The matcha pudding also had a nice matcha flavor. Eating green things while looking at greenery. It's so soothing. Thank you for the meal.

dandancafe in Wazuka Town, located in the southern part of Kyoto Prefecture, is a luxurious cafe where you can enjoy matcha sweets while overlooking the famous tea fields, particularly the "Ishidera Tea Fields" which have been designated as the first Kyoto Prefecture scenic asset. As soon as you enter, you are greeted with a view of the tea fields through the large glass windows. You can relax and enjoy your tea while watching the changing scenery of the sky, clouds, and birds flying around. The selection of matcha sweets is impressive, reflecting the reputation of the area as a tea-producing region. Here are some recommendations: - Tea Field Plate (850 yen): A set including three types of pudding, mini gelato, and chiffon cake. You can compare the different flavors and richness of hojicha, matcha, and dark tea puddings. The creamy texture is delightful. The milk gelato is light and pairs well with the matcha langue de chat. The matcha chiffon cake is just the right size, served with soft shiratama and sweet red bean paste. The matcha latte is fluffy and soothing with a gentle sweetness and deep tea aroma. - Matcha Zenzai (600 yen): A comforting dessert consisting of strong matcha, sweet red bean paste, and shiratama. It goes well with fragrant and light Japanese black tea. In addition to matcha, the cafe offers a variety of gelato made with locally sourced vegetables and fruits. It's a wonderful place to stop by during a drive or cycling trip. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The tea fields of Ishidera have become famous for their posters, but this was my first time actually seeing them in person. I was relieved that I could drive there easily. There is a parking lot across from the shop. As soon as I parked, I was amazed by the beauty of the tea fields. Inside the shop, I ordered the omurice and green tea lunch set, along with some Japanese black tea. While enjoying my meal, I looked out at the view outside and was captivated by the sight of the tea leaves rustling in the wind as they fluttered up the mountainside. I could also see people working in the fields. It was a heartwarming experience. Thank you for the delicious meal.
