The portion was quite generous, and for 600 yen, it was very reasonable. The service was very polite, but the only downside was the toilet being dirty and Japanese-style. Perhaps it's because the shop has been around for a long time. The shop is underground, so the signal was a bit weak.

The last character in Bakuraishiru, "ni," is familiar to some from the Buddhist scripture phrase "niji nyorai." However, in this case, it is pronounced as "ni." It is a phonetic representation, so it cannot be written in kanji without knowledge of the place name. When I looked it up, I found that the Vienna in Viennese coffee phonetically translates to "Weina." If you were to write the country name Austria in kanji like Bakuraishiru for Brazil, it would be "Aohongdi," which means the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Oh, everyone, both customers and staff, are men. That's not a common way to phrase it nowadays. Surrounded by many old bookstores, this cafe makes you want to study again.

This is a very well-established shop. It has been open for about 50 years in Jimbocho. When you go down the stairs leading to the basement and enter the store, you can nod in agreement as you see the wooden tables and chairs that give a nice atmosphere! She had eaten cold noodles before coming here and squeezed in a curry as well. Meanwhile, I watched her eat curry while sipping on wine. We arrived at 4:45 pm, and all the smoking seats were already taken. After waiting for about 10 minutes at the entrance, we were seated, and both of us ordered the "Cake Set" as follows: - Me: "Cold Blend" + "Cognac Chocolate" - My girlfriend: "Darjeeling (Ice)" + "Baked Cheesecake" After waiting for about 7 minutes at our table, the cakes and drinks arrived to close out the day. First, I tried the iced coffee, which had a slightly stronger bitter taste due to the roasting process. When you order iced coffee, a special syrup extracted from coffee components is provided in a milk pitcher to prevent dilution of the coffee flavor. However, being a black coffee lover, I drank it as it was without using the syrup. Next, I tried the cake, which had a firm custard layer topped with ganache cream and cocoa powder-dusted chocolate plate. While I could taste hints of chocolate flavor, sweetness, and a faint vanilla aroma, I couldn't detect any brandy notes on my palate no matter how carefully I savored it. Overall, despite the charming Showa-era atmosphere, the cake itself seemed quite ordinary in taste.
