Kyoto Hanabi, located on Takakura Street just below Shijo in Kyoto! It's been a while since I last visited Kyoto (laughs). I've been really busy lately and haven't had time to write articles (^_^;) Today, I'd like to introduce Kyoto Hanabi. This place has been on my radar for a while! The sign in front of the store says "Clear Asahi 290 yen"! As a fan of Clear Asahi, I knew I had to go (laughs). Inside, there is a counter in the shape of a "C" and about 6 four-person tables. The open layout allows you to see inside, and you can tell it's always busy. The tables were full even on this day. It's definitely an easy place for a casual drink after work with reasonable prices. As I was alone (laughs), I sat at the top right corner of the "C" shaped counter. The Clear Asahi arrived promptly! If you know it's called Clear Asahi, you won't have to worry about those moments during all-you-can-drink plans when you question, "Hey, is this really beer? It's so light in flavor..." (laughs). Now, what about the food? Oh, here's the regular menu. There are some reasonably priced items, but there are also some at a decent price... The popular choice seems to be the potato salad. As for me, I chose... Bakau Maki Cabbage! This much for 220 yen! It's a steal! And my favorite, Shime Saba (pickled mackerel)! What's the secret to the deliciousness of Shime Saba, I wonder (laughs). And another favorite of mine, Gyoza! Hanabi has a hot plate where they cook various dishes right in front of you. The "C" shaped counter is recommended (^^) With a focus on affordable menu items and plenty of appetizers to tickle the heart of a drinker, it was a great meal! Thank you! 075-343-0873 Kyoto, Kyoto, Shimogyo-ku, Takakura Street, Shijo below, Takazaimoku-cho 227-2

I dropped by on Sunday evening. The restaurant I wanted to visit was having an event and only accepting reservations, so I decided to go to Kyoto Hanabi instead. It has a retro Showa-era atmosphere from the outside, like a traditional Japanese izakaya. Asahi draft beer is priced at 380 yen, which is reasonable. I ordered the classic potato salad, simmered beef tendon, and rolled omelette with Kujo green onions. It's a good place for a casual drink. The area around Karasuma Shijo has been getting busier lately. Kyoto Hanabi is located at 227-2 Takazaimokucho, Shijo-sagaru, Takakura-dori, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. Operating hours are from 17:00 to 24:00.

On a certain Saturday evening, I took the Hankyu train and headed to Kyoto Shijo-Karasuma, which I hadn't visited in over a year. I reunited with my former colleagues at the workplace. We entered the restaurant as soon as it opened. The atmosphere was a Showa retro style, perfect for leisurely conversations over drinks. Even though my colleagues were from my child generation, they always chose hearty dishes for drinking. I started with my favorite "Nama-fu no Dengaku". Although it was time to eat, I had plans to meet other colleagues after work at a different restaurant, so I chose dishes with moderate portions as a warm-up. We also ordered "Seseri Wasabi Shoyu" followed by "Daikon no Karaage". I adjusted my drinking amount so that I could easily move to the next restaurant where we had a reservation. We also ordered a "Sashimi Assortment" that made us crave sake. As planned, the colleagues I was meeting later were able to escape from work, so we moved to a different venue. I am grateful to Hanabi-san for providing a relaxing environment for my first visit. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I heard that nama-fu is recommended so I ordered it right away. Oh wait... is this burnt? But it was delicious so it's fine. The nama-fu was chewy, and the sweet and salty miso on top was to my liking. The fried taro was also delicious with its fluffy texture.

The cost performance is good, and the food was delicious! Even when eating a lot with multiple people, the dishes are affordable and each one is tasty. There may not be a wide variety of dishes, but each one is delicious. When you're unsure where to go nearby, it's a casual option. It might be perfect for going to as a second or later stop.

I was already on my third place and just wanted to go into any shop to continue drinking. It's surprisingly hard to find a place where you can just pop in and have a drink. Standing bars are tiring and you can't eat much. So, I found this place with an open entrance and a clear view inside, which made it easy to see how busy it was. It wasn't empty, but it also wasn't too crowded. I ordered a pork okonomiyaki and just kept on drinking. The service was quick and the energetic staff made the experience enjoyable. It's a bright and comfortable izakaya, I think it's a good place to hang out.

This is a lively izakaya that always seems bustling whenever you pass by. It was quite crowded on this day as well, and I was debating whether to go in or not when I made eye contact with one of the staff members. I decided to give it a try and entered. The place was mostly filled with groups of people, creating a lively atmosphere at each table. I sat at the end of the counter and ordered a highball, along with simmered tendon, addictive cucumbers, and wasabi-flavored clams. The drinks came quickly, but the kitchen seemed very busy. Despite the good atmosphere, the staff members seemed a bit stressed and there was a lack of smiles. Some were rushing around while others were more relaxed - the operation seemed a bit off. While waiting, I felt a bit suffocated at times. Nevertheless, the dishes that came out were all delicious. The simmered tendon was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and both the cucumbers and clams were perfect with the drinks. I really wanted to try the teppanyaki menu, but it seemed like it would take too long, so I had to pass. I think if I come back when it's less busy, my impression might change. The food is delicious, so if the atmosphere improves, it would leave a better impression.

I visited the restaurant on a weekday night. The place was lively and the staff seemed energetic. The menu was impressive with a wide variety of options. The staff were always nearby, making it easy to place orders, but be careful as they can probably hear everything you say, haha. It didn't seem to bother them though. The place was full of office workers coming in after work. The pork belly was delicious.

When coming to Kyoto for work, I was a bit overwhelmed by the large number of tourists. It's good to aim to be a tourist-friendly country, but things don't always go smoothly. Today, my colleagues and I decided to have a drink together, and our manager took us to this restaurant, "Hanabi." It's a retro-style izakaya with a wide variety of dishes like fish and fried foods. I recommend the Hormone no Hoso, which was really delicious with its melt-in-your-mouth fat. Despite having work the next day, we all ended up quite drunk... I guess we just can't resist a drink every now and then. Drinking with people you get along with always makes the alcohol taste better. Thank you for the meal.

The fried chicken wings were crispy and the sauce was just right. The Tamonokawa sake was sweet but not too heavy, easy to drink. The Berry Lager craft beer was not very beer-like, but still easy to drink. The skewers were average but worth it for 540 yen. The combination of eggplant, asparagus, pork, beef, and shrimp was good. The addictive avocado dish was tasty at first but a bit too much for one person. The sashimi assortment was delicious, especially the mackerel and sea bream. I might come back again. The Tamonokawa sake was 570 yen, skewers of 5 types were 540 yen, addictive avocado was 450 yen, Berry Lager was 500 yen, fried chicken wings were 220 yen, totaling around 3300 yen excluding tax. So the sashimi assortment might be around 800 yen.

Instead of sending New Year's cards, I have a year-end party every year with three friends I meet regularly. The end of the year is filled with these gatherings. One of my friends made a reservation at a trendy restaurant, and it seems like "birds of a feather flock together" because the place is popular among many people, including celebrities. The restaurant has a retro Showa era vibe, with many table options on the second floor for larger groups. We started with a toast with beer and ordered Hiroshima oyster fry, various skewers, spicy garlic shrimp, spicy beef stir-fry, grilled squid, edamame, and spicy cucumber. Everything was delicious, especially the juicy oysters and crispy fried food. The prices were reasonable, making it a great place for a casual night out. After dinner, we went to karaoke and had a blast before calling it a night at 10 pm. It was a fun and satisfying evening.

Visited in July 2018 at 6:20 PM. The restaurant "Kyoto Hanabi" had a rating of 3.12 on Tabelog (25 reviews). I randomly walked into this izakaya without a plan. I was seated at the counter after passing through the tables near the entrance. They had 12 types of homemade kushikatsu, which seemed to be their specialty... although I didn't try it (^o^;) Lately, when it comes to kushikatsu, I've been eating at "Kushikatsu Tanaka" quite frequently in Tokyo, even though I hardly had it when I was in Kansai. I started with a draft beer (^o^)/ I had a Super Dry for 380 yen, but they also had Asahi Super Dry Extra Cold for 480 yen. I ended up ordering sashimi and grilled fish dishes without even realizing it (^o^;) Each dish was decent, but overall, nothing really stood out in my memory. Thank you for the meal.

The food was delicious overall, but the service was a bit slow, so it might be better to relax and take your time. The atmosphere and interior were also nice!
