Visit in December 2022. Let's go to Kyoto. So, on this day, we made a little detour to AEON Mall KYOTO near JR Kyoto Station for some shopping. After getting what we needed at the intended store, it was time for a late lunch. Heading towards the restaurant area, we found this place next to our destination! "Oyasai Tadanonasa Terao AEON Mall KYOTO store." This restaurant also has a branch at Lalaport EXPOCITY, which we visited just last week, but upon closer inspection, we realized that the setup here is different, with a buffet-style offering of all-you-can-eat side dishes, salad, rice, miso soup, and dessert, unlike the other location. We had to try it out! It was just before 2 pm, so we entered smoothly. We declared our intention to use the buffet (1730 yen) and the drink bar (210 yen) to the young female staff member and headed to the self-serve counter. The self-serve counter had over ten varieties of side dishes like simmered dishes and seasoned dishes, as well as fried food, chirashi sushi, Kyoto vegetables salad, udon, ramen noodles, dessert, and drinks. For the first round, we had lotus root tempura, chirashi sushi, meatballs, soba salad, fish & chips, goya (bitter melon) ohitashi, simmered koya tofu, curry croquette and fried chicken, fried tofu, and oden (egg, daikon radish), along with Kyoto vegetable salad and unsweetened black tea. Since there were many side dishes, we skipped the rice and miso soup. All the side dishes here were really delicious! Especially the simmered dishes like koya tofu and oden had excellent seasoning. The vegetable salad with homemade black bean dressing was incredibly fragrant and tasty! For the second round, we had mackerel miso, hamburger steak, mapo tofu, eel and asparagus doria, namul, simmered lotus root, burdock root and fried tofu with sesame dressing, onion steak, and eggplant and pork stew. The second round of side dishes was also delicious! The mackerel miso was well-flavored and could go well with multiple servings of rice. The mapo tofu had a strong authentic flavor with a good amount of sansho pepper. This would definitely taste great when eaten with rice! This time we had to stop due to being full, so we couldn't try the noodles or desserts, but we would like to come back after resting a bit! With this quality of buffet at this price, I think it's a great value. Thank you very much for the delicious meal.

This is actually my third visit here. They offer a 90-minute all-you-can-eat buffet style with a wide variety of delicious food including Japanese and Western dishes, including obanzai. The restaurant is spacious and can accommodate large groups, as there was a foreign group dining there today. Located in Aeon Mall, the parking lot offers discounts. The black bean dressing on the vegetables is fragrant and delicious. The buffet with a focus on vegetables is great! It would be even better with some more unique and fresh vegetables. The cold ramen, plum fried rice, and boiled dumplings are all delicious. My daughter loves the junky sweets available and is very happy. It's great to have kid-friendly options on the menu.

It was delicious! The buffet restaurant had a good mix of healthy options and some indulgent treats for those who don't want just healthy food. The staff was also very friendly and helpful!

The price of 1630 yen for this type of buffet is quite reasonable! I hadn't eaten anything since morning and I love to eat, so it was perfect for me. However, I had some complaints. The store opened at 11:00, and I arrived about 20 minutes early. The restaurant, located inside a mall, had no doors at the entrance. I thought about just walking in, but then decided to stroll around the mall for a bit before entering the restaurant about 5 minutes early. But I was told by the staff that they open at 11:00. Even though I had a reservation! They were strict about the opening time. But I wish they would let me at least sit down and leave my things since the buffet didn't start until 11:00. There weren't many customers, so there wasn't the usual crowded feeling at the buffet, but maybe because of my initial dissatisfaction, I only found 2-3 dishes that I really enjoyed. It's hard to say if I would go back again in the future.

The cod and spinach gratin and water dumplings were delicious. However, the rice dishes like fried rice and inari sushi were disappointing.
