I booked a course and visited the restaurant. It was very cozy, and the pace of drinks and dishes was perfect. The food was delicious, and although the drink menu was not extensive, the selection of tasty drinks was satisfying. By the end of the course, I was truly full!

After decades, I went to see the bonfire in Kyoto at night. Due to the aftermath of the typhoon, there were fewer people than expected. I crossed the roaring Kamogawa River and visited Kiyomizu-san for the first time, which I had reserved. It has a traditional townhouse appearance and blends in nicely with the town. I sat at the counter seat. There are also tatami mat seats and private rooms in the back. On the counter, there were several dishes of obanzai lined up. First, I toasted with a highball. I ordered dishes like chicken meatballs, stir-fried highland tofu with seared chicken meat, grilled chicken tail with Kujo green onions and yuzu pepper, and dashimaki tamago. I also added some tempura of fresh yuba. The menu includes dishes using tofu, yuba, and nama-fu. It's a lively and bustling atmosphere rather than a quiet one. You can enjoy Kyoto-style obanzai at a reasonable price. It was a delightful meal. Now, how far should I go north to view the Daimonji?

I was taken to this restaurant by a friend and everything I ate was delicious. The yuba sashimi, nama-fu dengaku, and fried dashimaki tamago were all really tasty. The staff, who were all young, were very knowledgeable about the menu and sake, and they provided clear explanations. They worked efficiently and cheerfully, making it a pleasant experience to watch. I would definitely want to visit this restaurant again when I go to Kyoto.

I made a reservation for about 20 people and went for a preview. The dishes from the appetizer to the main course were delicious, so I was confident that the party would be happy. However, on the day of the party, the course meal was like, "Huh? Isn't it too different from the individual dishes we had before?" I guess courses are just courses. I was a little disappointed.

The sunken kotatsu was comfortable, the staff was efficient, and the sashimi was delicious! I would definitely bring my friends here when they visit Kyoto. My only complaint is that the roast beef was tough and had gristle. It would be better to use a smaller amount of higher quality meat instead.

I wanted to have a meal in Kyoto style from an early hour and chose a restaurant by looking at Tabelog. The obanzai was very delicious. It was fun to watch the obanzai lined up on the counter. I consulted with the staff to choose several types of sake. The staff was also very friendly!

The location was a bit hard to find, but the interior was beautiful! The staff were also very kind! The obanzai dishes were the main highlight! We used the restaurant on Sunday evening with two people. We called to reserve a seat on the same evening, and although the restaurant was popular and had many reservations, they were able to accommodate us from 5:00 to 6:30. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was also good, with a polite young male university student serving us attentively, making our time there enjoyable. When we visit Kyoto again, we would definitely like to use this restaurant.

This was my first visit. It was a reunion with my training colleagues from 10 years ago when we spent about 50 days in Chiba. Originally there were more women, but everyone had conflicting schedules so in the end it was just three men laughing. However, we didn't mind at all as we enjoyed a delicious meal and a pleasant atmosphere, making it a fun time. Thank you very much!

A wonderful restaurant in a cozy atmosphere, surprisingly spacious inside with a reserved private room for a relaxing experience. The staff were friendly and energetic, which was nice. The potato salad was a bit bland but unique and enjoyable. The homemade pickled fish was delicious. Most importantly, the soy milk hot pot was incredibly tasty!! I ordered a mix of pork and chicken, and the flavor was smooth with a rich broth that I finished every drop of. The prices were reasonable, like a regular izakaya, so I was very satisfied.

It is a shop that has been renovated from a Kyoto townhouse. It is located in a very hard-to-find place. It is the second street up from Shijo Kawaramachi, on the right side of the alley. The sign is also hard to see, haha. Once you step inside, it is a calm store renovated from a Kyoto townhouse. There is a spacious private room in the back. The seating is limited to 2 hours. The food ranges from obanzai dishes to fried foods, all of which are delicious. We enjoyed shochu, sake, beer, and more. We ordered a variety of dishes, but I didn't take many photos.

I came to Kyoto and tried the obanzai dishes at Kyoie Kiyomizu in Kiya-cho, Kyoto. All the obanzai dishes were delicious... especially the yuba tempura was exquisite! I decided to try a different sake this time, so I ordered a junmai ginjo which was very easy to drink and delicious. I want to stay in Kyoto next time and do some sightseeing. Drinking with friends in Kyoto. When I was a student, we only went to cheap izakayas, but as an adult, I prefer to drink at nice places with a good atmosphere. This place has a real Kyoto vibe! Taking people from outside Kyoto here is always a hit. The jazz music and stylish dishes add to the cool ambiance. Surprisingly, the sashimi was delicious.

I was looking for a casual dining place and found this place with a nice atmosphere, so I visited with 4 people on a Sunday night around 6 pm. The front area had a large counter with a good vibe, and the customers there seemed to be enjoying themselves. We were seated in the back, which felt like a regular izakaya rather than a cozy traditional Japanese restaurant. We rang the bell for service, but no one came. We ordered our first drinks and 3 dishes, but they took a long time to arrive. Even after our drinks came, we waited for about 20 minutes without any food. When we tried to order more drinks, we had trouble getting the server's attention. Eventually, they told us that the drink we wanted was sold out. The service was slow and the staff seemed confused. We had to call them over multiple times, and even then, they still made mistakes. We had to actively get their attention when they brought food to the table next to us. Despite the decent interior and food options, the slow service and lack of attention made us decide not to order more dishes and leave. The food was average, and although the menu was extensive, it didn't match the quiet, cozy image we had in mind. It might be better for those who enjoy lively and bustling izakayas. My friends and I, who are not particularly impatient, were disappointed after entering with excitement and left for a second round elsewhere. Maybe it would have been a different experience if we had sat at the counter.

Kyoto gourmet experience! The restaurant I had reserved was overbooked and I couldn't get in, so I decided to try this place nearby that I had been curious about. I relaxed at the spacious counter seat. I ordered the hotate butter potato salad because they had three types of potato salad, which caught my attention! I could feel the texture of the scallops, but it lacked flavor or needed something more to stand out... The eel and jellyfish side dish had a good texture and was refreshing. I wish there was a bit more of the eel flavor though. Overall, I finished with just one drink and left...

I went to a restaurant recommended by a friend for dinner in Kyoto! It's about a 3-minute walk from Kawaramachi Station! We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to get a table for two at the counter! The counter seats were very stylish, surrounding an open kitchen! We toasted with a draft beer and ordered the popular potato salad! There were many different types of potato salad to choose from! It was a bit forgetful what we ate, but it was all delicious, with a creative touch to the dishes! The atmosphere was calm and had a Kyoto vibe, so it seems like a place where tourists would be really happy to visit! Thank you for the wonderful meal♪♪♪

After work, I was taken to a local restaurant by a local resident. They usually don't eat side dishes, so they were very excited to show me around. In Kyoto's Kiyamachi, there is a shop where you can feel the atmosphere of a traditional townhouse, serving obanzai (Kyoto-style home cooking) and Kyoto vegetables. The counter is lined with a variety of obanzai dishes such as nikujaga (meat and potato stew) and simmered daikon and pork. The dried daikon with plenty of broth was delicious. The nikujaga was reheated and had a nice, tender texture. The assortment of obanzai included three kinds of potato salad (cheese, scallop, and pickled shiso), offering a variety of flavors. The stir-fried shirataki and mentaiko served in a tanuki-shaped dish was cute. The Kyogoku negi (Kyoto green onion) with sweet white miso-based vinegar miso dressing had a Kyoto-like taste. The raw yuba (tofu skin) sashimi had a smooth texture, and when dipped in yuba-specific soy sauce, it had an elegant flavor and was delicious. The corn tempura enclosed the sweetness of the corn in the batter, and when eaten with salt, the sweetness intensified. Kyoto is known for its many famous sake breweries, so there is a wide variety of Kyoto sake available, and it's easy to end up drinking too much!

Spring in Kyoto is wonderful. The atmosphere in this area is very Kyoto-like and charming. This hidden gem of a restaurant in Kyoto's Kiya-machi is cozy and has a great vibe. We enjoyed a delicious assortment of sashimi and obanzai dishes, including the restaurant's signature "Kiyomizu Salad". The Kyoto cuisine here is all delicious and affordable, which is much appreciated. My favorites were the stir-fried shirataki and mentaiko, and the three kinds of potato salad. This wallet-friendly spot is popular, so reservations are a must.
