Stylish Spanish restaurant. The food was average. The timing of the dishes coming out was a bit slow, so not recommended for people with limited time. I had a very unpleasant experience on my birthday. They have a wide variety of wines, so it might be good for people who like alcohol.

Visited with some bad friends in Kyoto. The owner, a cheerful Spanish man, treated us to sherry when we left with full bellies. Thank you. Despite the pandemic, there were some items not available on the menu, but everything was delicious. I want to go back again.

To Antonio, the Spanish restaurant. I had been looking forward to visiting this place for a while. When I finally went, there was only one Spanish chef in the kitchen and one waitress. Even after 40 minutes, no dish was served because they hadn't even started cooking. I had to take a wine myself because they forgot to bring it. The food didn't suit my taste at all. In the end, I couldn't even eat the food, so maybe I'll give it another chance in the future, but I probably won't go back. Maybe it was just bad timing?

Family of 3 entered around 7:30 pm. The restaurant was quite crowded with about 7-8 groups, so it felt like reservations are necessary especially on weekends. The special sangria made with red wine was excellent. It paired well with the Segovia cured ham. It was so deliciously sweet that one plate didn't feel like enough. The Iberico chorizo (1st photo) was a bit too gamey for my taste. We were told that the paella would take over an hour to prepare, but it was worth the wait. The squid ink paella (2nd and 3rd photos) was outstanding. I will definitely order it again as I love squid ink. We also ordered garlic shrimp, wine-steamed mussels, gazpacho, and a total of 7 dishes. The soft white bread rolls that came with the meal filled us up. We enjoyed the authentic atmosphere and delicious dishes that paired well with our drinks. It was a happy and satisfying day! Thank you so much!

I used it for a reception. It was very stylish, the staff were cheerful and recommended various things, so I enjoyed it very much. The variety of wines was also rich, and it was incredibly delicious!

I ordered Pan con Tomate and Paella. About 30 minutes after placing the order, they brought out free all-you-can-eat bread. Then, after about 15 minutes, the Pan con Tomate arrived. The aioli sauce was delicious. When I inquired about the Paella order, the owner, who was from Spain, said they were making it right now, raising my expectations even more. About 30 minutes later, a luxurious Paella with seafood arrived, priced at 4500 yen, with a strong salty flavor. I had ordered two dishes, and although they were cooked slowly and carefully, giving off a foreign atmosphere, the taste wasn't to my liking. The atmosphere and location of the restaurant were nice, so it was a bit of a shame.

My cousin recommended this restaurant, so our two couples went there together. The food was delicious, we ordered a la carte and drank wine together, and before we knew it, the bill came out to about 10,000 yen per person, which surprised us. Next time, we plan to go for a set course and be more moderate with the wine. However, we had a great time, the food was delicious, and it's a good memory.

When Antonio visited Kyoto in June this year, he had a chat with the owner of this restaurant at the front of the shop around noon. Unfortunately, they weren't serving lunch that day, so he couldn't enter the shop and decided to come back another time. This Spanish cuisine specialty shop is located a little west of Nijo Teramachi. The white walls, wooden door, and olive tree in front of the shop are impressive. The shop is narrow at the entrance and long at the back, and it seems that "Antonio" is the name of the Spanish owner. The shop has been open for 10 years. Antonio visited without a reservation at 8 pm. The restaurant was about 70% full, with a noticeable older clientele. Antonio didn't have much knowledge of Spanish cuisine, so ordering from the menu was difficult. Eventually, he decided to order the Tapas course for two people. The dishes included squid liver pate, Galician-style Iberico chorizo flambé, garlic sauce with oysters, Spanish-style omelette, and aioli sauce with bread. The meal was filling and delicious, but Antonio found that Spanish cuisine is best enjoyed with alcohol. The service was great, and he looks forward to trying a la carte dishes next time. The thoughtful service from the owner, who was handling the restaurant alone, was also impressive. With a new addition to the kitchen staff, Antonio hopes that the capacity issues will be resolved in the future.

I visited various Spanish restaurants in Kyoto, but this place had the most delicious paella!! They had two types, squid ink and seafood, and personally I preferred the seafood one. I visited twice, the first time I had a course with 9 kinds of tapas, seafood soup, paella, and dessert, all for about 5000 yen. The tapas were all really delicious, especially the Spanish omelette. The seafood soup was okay, but overall I think this is the best Spanish restaurant I know of in Kyoto. The second time, they said they couldn't do the 9 kinds of tapas, so I ordered the tapas course and paella. The tapas course was too much and I was already full by the time the paella arrived!! But I still enjoyed the paella. I had leftovers both times, so they kindly let me take them home. The tapas were also delicious!! Just be aware of the large portion size of the tapas course!

Sometimes I feel like going to a Spanish restaurant. It's a small but very pleasant place. The chef, who is a foreigner (Spanish?), is handsome. The female staff in the dining area are very nice and friendly, with lovely smiles. I went with 4 girlfriends and we decided to skip the course menu and choose dishes a la carte to share. There is a wide variety of dishes on the a la carte menu. Last time I went, the food came out very slowly, so we ended up drinking wine for a long time, but this time the dishes came one after another, so we were busy eating. I couldn't drink much alcohol. The baked Camembert cheese was rich and perfect for cheese lovers. The white asparagus with tartar sauce comes in two varieties - domestic and Spanish, and the Spanish one was big in size. The perfect ending to a Spanish meal is paella. Even though I was full, it was so delicious that I finished it all. We forgot that we had reserved paella and ended up ordering too much. We were stuffed. The dishes on the a la carte menu are all served in large portions for 1.5 people or more, and you can enjoy unlimited homemade bread. Overall, the dishes are rich in flavor and generous in portion, so it's more enjoyable with a larger group. For menu details, please visit the restaurant's website: http://www.japantonio.com/an-menu/menub.htm. The lunch set with 9 types of tapas is also recommended, as you can enjoy various flavors. I went on a weekday and it was almost full. It might be a good idea to make a reservation. There is a paid parking lot near the restaurant (on Nijo Street). Nijo Street is a one-way street facing east, and if you pass the restaurant, you will immediately come out onto Teramachi Street, so be careful.

This is a review of the Spanish restaurant "Antonio" located on Nijo Street. The owner, Antonio, recently started serving lunch in March. There are two lunch courses available: the A course for 1500 yen and the B course for 3800 yen. The A course includes 9 types of tapas, a daily main dish, dessert, coffee/espresso/tea, and homemade bread. The B course includes soup, paella, dessert, coffee/espresso/tea, and homemade bread. The main dishes for the day included options like Hamburger Steak La Coruna-style, Chicken Garlic Sauté with White Wine Sauce, Stuffed Squid with Vegetables, and Sautéed Cod with Pumpkin Pudding. The reviewer chose the Chicken Garlic Sauté as the main dish. The tapas were impressive with a variety of options, and the homemade bread was moist and satisfying. The Chicken Garlic Sauté main dish was a bit heavy compared to the tapas. The dessert, condensed milk cake, was sweet and stood out. However, there was a slight off-taste in the coffee. Overall, the lunch was a good value for the 9 types of tapas and dessert included in the A course for 1500 yen. The staff seemed a bit too concerned about customer reactions, but the reviewer felt they could be more relaxed.

Recommended 3x3 tapas Spanish restaurant Antonio Theme: Kyoto Spanish bar drinking spot Recently, new restaurants have been popping up on Teramachi Street. There are a few places I want to visit, and one of them is a Spanish restaurant. I made it just in time for the last lunch order. Antonio, located west of Teramachi Nijo, served a delicious tapas platter. It's a luxurious lunch where you can enjoy various flavors in small portions. This day, I only had water due to circumstances, but with friends and wine, this alone could last an hour. The main dish was beer-braised chicken with a strong rosemary aroma, a flavor I love. I might try to replicate it at home. Other options included roasted lamb, meatball stew, and garlic sautéed cod. For dessert, I had condensed milk cake. A sweet treat after garlic is quite refreshing. The tea was served in a pot. I was the only customer left, so I ate in a hurry, but I would like to enjoy it slowly with wine next time. The dishes were prepared with care. I want to make it in time for the last order on my next visit.

I have never been to Spain, but at Antonio's restaurant, you can enjoy dishes that show his dedication to authentic cuisine. You can taste dishes from his hometown of Jerez, which is close to Portugal, and other unique dishes that you won't find elsewhere. Jerez's sherry wine is particularly famous, and the restaurant's logo even features a long-handled ladle used to scoop it out of the barrel. When my friend and I went, we ended up ordering chorizo and ham, both of which covered the entire plate. The bread was delicious too, so we were quite full with just these two dishes. I recommend going with a group. One ingredient that I found unusual was squid eggs. They were served marinated and had a texture and taste similar to octopus eggs, and they were delicious.

I revisited Antonio's. The white bread that always comes out fluffy and crispy, with aioli sauce, along with prosciutto, makes the wine go down easily again. The seafood soup is also packed with flavor and fantastic! The paella I ordered this time was the seafood paella. It had an exquisite taste, and the restaurant remains one of my favorites! Antonio is a Spanish restaurant located in Teramachi Nijo. The owner, Antonio, is Spanish, and you can see several chefs working hard in the kitchen at the back of the restaurant. All the dishes are delicious, but the squid ink paella, which you need to reserve in advance, is truly delicious and outstanding! It serves a minimum of two people, so go with at least one more person. Also, the prosciutto at this restaurant is just right in terms of saltiness, and it goes perfectly with the bread served at the table! I have been there many times, and when I went for the second time, they remembered the wine I had the first time I visited. This kind of attention to detail is very pleasing!

The other day, I visited this restaurant for the first time with 9 people for a party. I was expecting some stylish Spanish cuisine, and indeed, the majority of the customers were women. The restaurant was almost full, and we had pre-ordered a course menu. Despite the crowded restaurant, there was only one staff member in the kitchen and one in the dining area. It was clear that they were overwhelmed and struggling to keep up. The cheers with beer were good, but the food took a long time to come out. The dishes were well-prepared and delicious, like the tasty garlic shrimp and the seafood-rich paella. However, the overall impression was that the service was slow due to the lack of staff to accommodate the large number of customers.

I have visited this restaurant about three times now, and each time I have been very satisfied. This time, I visited during Christmas. While the city was bustling with Christmas festivities, this restaurant is tucked away in a quiet alley, creating a very cozy and homely atmosphere for our Christmas dinner. The paella requires a reservation in advance, but if you can't finish it, they will kindly wrap it up for you. The dishes are generally quite garlicky, but they always check if that's okay with you when you make a reservation, which I appreciate. The sangria is on the sweeter side, but when served ice cold, it's delicious and addictive. There are many Spanish restaurants in this area, but this one is my favorite.

I had a 1500 yen lunch. The luxurious appetizer platter with 9 different items was impressive. The croquette and pie were warm and delicious. The handmade bread was like focaccia. Even though they offered more, I was already quite full after the appetizers. For the main course, I asked the waiter for a recommendation and chose the stuffed squid, which had a chewy texture and strong flavor. The sausage was tasty. I also had dessert and coffee. Overall, it was a good value lunch and I enjoyed a leisurely meal.

I used this restaurant about 2 years ago at night. I almost forgot, but it was nearly full, dark, and the food took a long time to come out after ordering! It wasn't rushed, but rather had a relaxed atmosphere, and the prices weren't that cheap. So, I haven't been back since then. (But I think the food was good.) This time, I went with 4 people to a nearby restaurant, but it was closed. It was around 1:30 in the afternoon, so we decided to try this place. There were no other customers, just 4 people in the kitchen and one person in the dining area. The lunch set was 1500 yen, and the paella set was 3800 yen for 4 people. We ordered 3 lunch sets and a separate paella for 2-3 people, as well as Spanish sangria and sherry. There were 9 types of appetizers on one plate, all delicious. Then came the main course. We tried 2 out of the 3-4 options, and they were good! Finally, dessert, homemade bread, and coffee. The 1500 yen lunch set was quite affordable. The dishes were carefully prepared and since it wasn't busy, the food came out quickly.
