I was surprised at the amount of bean-curd soup for one person. It seems that depending on the menu, you can take the rest of the dish home with you.

A Chinese cuisine lunch set for 980 yen, with a choice of dishes including fried food, pickles, salad, soup, rice (medium portion), and dessert. This restaurant is located along a main road and offers continental Chinese cuisine, different from the usual "Osho" restaurant. I chose the crab omelette for my dish. The filling of the crab omelette was rich in color but not too strong in flavor, which made it delicious. The omelette itself was quite large, equivalent to about five eggs. The large pieces of fried chicken were often overly seasoned, but this one had a good balance of seasoning and the chicken itself tasted good. As with most continental Chinese restaurants, I ended up feeling quite full to the point of discomfort. Overall, I was very satisfied with the meal. Thank you for the feast.

Today I was working in Yodo. I was planning to go to a restaurant for lunch, but it turned out they were closed. There weren't many options around Yodo station either. As I was driving around, I spotted a big sign that clearly indicated a Chinese restaurant. They also offered set meals and had a spacious parking lot, so I decided to give it a try. The parking lot was almost full during lunchtime, but the restaurant itself was quite large with tables for 4 or 6 people lined up. However, most customers seemed to come in groups of 1 to 4 people, so it wasn't as crowded as the parking lot. The staff were Chinese and spoke broken Japanese while serving customers. Orders were taken using a tablet, which gave a sense of security that the order would be correct. For the weekday lunch special, I chose the black pepper chicken stir-fry. It was generously seasoned with coarse black pepper, giving it a strong peppery flavor over the base sauce. The chicken was tender and moist, and the vegetables had a nice crunchy texture, capturing the essence of Chinese cuisine quite well. The fried chicken was crispy and had a good bounce to it, juicy and without any unpleasant smell, very tasty! The soup was thick and had a subtle flavor, serving as a nice palate cleanser after the rich Chinese dishes. I realized halfway through the meal that the portion was huge!! A woman dining alone even took the fried chicken to go. That kind of service was available here too! With a wide variety of menu options, this place offers authentic Chinese cuisine and is a great restaurant to visit. The main branch is located in Omihachiman. I have a feeling I will be coming back here whenever I'm in the area. Thank you for the meal!

A Chinese restaurant that opened in the former Joyful location ⭐️ Each dish has generous portions ⭐️ The flavors are closer to authentic Chinese rather than familiar to Japanese taste, I think ⭐️ (I don't know the authentic taste though, haha) The staff seems to be locals ⭐️ Orders are taken on a tablet ⭐️ Fried rice → lightly seasoned Pan-fried dumplings → chewy and delicious Mapo tofu → slightly unique flavor but addictive Oil-splashed chicken → delicious and large portion ⭐️ Fried shrimp → tasty but a bit difficult to eat as the shrimp is fried with the shell on, the tail can poke your mouth ⭐️ It would be even tastier if they peeled the shrimp before frying ⭐️ Boiled dumplings → gently seasoned and delicious ⭐️ Sesame balls → delicious as usual ⭐️

I rarely go down this road... I think it's called the old Route 1. I passed by a family restaurant that had turned into a Chinese restaurant! I was curious, so I decided to check it out. The parking lot was spacious and the inside of the restaurant had plenty of room with tables spaced out comfortably. I went for lunch just a bit after the rush, so there were only about three groups of customers. I ordered the mapo tofu lunch set, which was quite a generous portion. The spiciness was just right for me, and it was delicious! The sweet and sour pork and dumplings were also really tasty. Thank you for the meal!

Recently opened, so even on a Saturday at 6 pm, it was empty. I think the taste is good! The portions are surprisingly large. The prices are reasonable. Today I had a set of mapo tofu, Tianjin rice, and dumplings, along with oil-splashed chicken for ¥2,586. The staff seems Chinese, but they are friendly.

It was a fairly new and clean restaurant. The interior was nicely decorated and didn't feel cheap. They offer a variety of dishes, from set meals to more expensive a la carte options. I had the leek and liver stir-fry set meal, while my daughter had the tantanmen and fried rice set. Each portion was generous and filling. The flavors were not too strong, more on the mild side of Chinese cuisine. They also have a garage, which was quite busy. Overall, it was satisfying for the price. Cash only, no cards or electronic money accepted.

This place is a little different, but restaurants from the continent are overwhelmingly located in slightly remote areas. Even in places where it's hard to find a notable dining spot, seeing one of these restaurants is reassuring and I feel comfortable going in. The main feature of these restaurants is that they all have large tables and no counter seats, making them somewhat unsuitable for solo diners during busy times at small establishments. However, they offer reasonably priced, generous portions that attract a certain number of walk-in customers. The menu composition and pricing are almost identical across these restaurants, with many of them specializing in large servings of fried chicken. The staff are all Chinese and cater to Japanese tastes in their seasoning. This particular restaurant stands out with slightly higher prices and tablet-based ordering, which is a first for me. Today's order: Fried Rice Set Meal for 1078 yen (with Taiwanese Ramen). The Taiwanese Ramen here has a taste that is quite authentic to the original, but the soup doesn't go down smoothly... not really my preference. The fried rice is seasoned to Japanese tastes and cooked slightly moist, which I enjoyed. The fried chicken, although only one piece, is indeed large, but the coating is a bit too crunchy... Overall, it didn't stand out much, but it's still worth considering as it's close to my workplace and the spacious interior in the former Joyful location.

If you order a la carte, you can get Taiwan Ramen for 748 yen and Mapo Rice for 858 yen. However, during lunchtime, the Ramen Set is only 980 yen! (Choose your favorite ramen + rice dish). It's a great deal with a good amount of food. They even give you a small dessert at the end.
Taiwan Ramen:
[Noodles] Medium-thin curly noodles
[Toppings] Green onions, ground meat, chili peppers
[Soup] Taiwan-style soup with a hint of flavor, not too spicy, very enjoyable. The noodles are smooth and go well with the soup. The amount of ground meat is a bit small, but still delicious.
Mapo Rice:
Plenty of Mapo Tofu with a nice amount of Sichuan peppercorns. It's spicy enough to make you sweat, and it's very satisfying on its own.
Overall, the Ramen Set for 980 yen, including Taiwan Ramen and Mapo Rice, is a great deal!

I finally visited a Chinese restaurant that opened on the former Joyful site. The interior was vibrant, with colorful umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. I thought it might be dusty, but it looked clean and well-maintained. The small decorations added to the overall Chinese atmosphere. The interior was a far cry from the previous Joyful, and it got me excited. I was surprised by the extensive menu that could be ordered through a touch panel. I ordered the Tantan Diced Noodles (¥1078), Pork Belly and Vegetable Fried Rice (¥968), and Xiao Long Bao (¥748) that were recommended on the sign. The Tantan Diced Noodles were new to me, with thick noodles and just the right amount of spiciness, very delicious. The fried rice was incredibly generous and the most delicious dish. It was perfect for sharing with friends. When the Tantan Diced Noodles arrived, I asked for a small plate once, and they kept bringing them without me asking, which made me happy. Thank you very much. When I asked for recommendations, the staff explained them to me in detail!

I went to a Chinese restaurant in Fushimi, Kyoto on a whim. I was looking for a place to have lunch without any particular destination in mind, and I saw this Chinese restaurant so I decided to go in. When I entered, I noticed that there were many umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. Maybe it's a Chinese custom? I ordered Set A, which included my favorite combination of ramen, fried chicken, and rice. I chose Taiwanese ramen for the noodles. The fried chicken had little meat and was quite greasy. The dumplings were homemade and quite delicious. Thank you for the meal.

To Ryuhoden, a Chinese restaurant in Yodogawa, Kyoto. Authentic Chinese cuisine made by native chefs. Is it mediocre or truly authentic? I went there with my family. We ordered using a touch screen.
- Yakisoba set: Yakisoba, Gyoza, Soup
- Taiwan Ramen set: Taiwan Ramen, Gyoza, Karaage
- Gomoku Ramen set: Gomoku Ramen, Karaage, Rice
- Shark Fin Gyoza set: Shark Fin Gyoza, Spring Rolls, Salad, Chinese Soba, Sesame Dumplings, Almond Jelly
The delicious dishes were the yakisoba, karaage, and gomoku ramen. The karaage was especially huge and tasty. The rest were just average. The set meals are filling, but I wish they were under 1000 yen. They have a parking lot, so it's convenient. Food rating on Tabelog: 3.00

Today's lunch was at "Ryuhoden Fushimi Store", a Chinese restaurant located along the Keihan National Highway across from Rakusui Middle School. It seems to be a restaurant with its main branch in Shiga. The exterior is flashy. Inside, there are tables lined up. It's eerie to see umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. They serve authentic high-end Chinese cuisine. There are sets with noodles and fried rice. There are many options for both the type of noodles and fried rice. They also have a wide variety of Chinese set meals. They even have dim sum set meals. However, following the trend, I chose the "cold noodles and rice set" for 1078 yen. I opted for the classic fried rice as my rice dish. They serve a mask case along with cold water and a wet towel. You can order using a tablet. The toothpick holder is artistic. Two bowls were served on a tray. One was a Korean-style metal bowl. The fried rice portion was quite generous. It had a strong egg aroma, but the flavor was a bit bland. I got a bit tired of it towards the end. The pickled ginger, which I couldn't tell if it was for the fried rice or cold noodles, came in a small pack. The cold noodles had a clear and sour soup. The shredded cabbage was a unique addition. The noodles had a firm texture, somewhere between ramen and Korean cold noodles. Despite looking like a family restaurant, it is actually a pretty authentic Chinese restaurant.

Discovered a new restaurant for lunch with a voluminous set meal at Yodo! It seems to be a Taiwanese-style Chinese restaurant with a unique interior. You order using a touch panel. I ordered the ramen and gyoza set meal as they seem to specialize in gyoza. I was surprised by the portion size when it arrived! It was so much food that I was completely full!

Today, I came here. The other day, when I passed by, I noticed the flashy signboard and decided to check it out. It's a Chinese restaurant that recently opened near the Kyoto Racecourse in Yodo, and it seems to be part of a chain with several branches. I remember hearing that they serve authentic Taiwanese ramen and set meals at reasonable prices. The spacious interior is decorated with flowers, indicating that it is a new establishment. The restaurant is run by people who seem to be from the home country, with a menu offering a variety of dishes at slightly high prices. Despite the hot weather making me lose my appetite, I ordered the "Tianjin fried rice." When it arrived, I was shocked by the large plate with a diameter of about 40-50 centimeters. The dish was a moist and flavorful five-flavor fried rice topped with a thick layer of egg and surrounded by a thick soy-based sauce. It was delicious at first, but I soon got tired of it. The clear soup had a slightly complex flavor with finely chopped ingredients, but I preferred the more traditional soy-based broth. I tried my best to finish the dish, but I couldn't. Overall, it may be better to visit this restaurant with a large group and try a variety of dishes. The lack of dining options in the area might make this restaurant a convenient choice. The service was good, and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible with separate washrooms for men and women. There is ample parking available on-site.

The taste and portion size were both very satisfying. The interior of the restaurant was clean and the staff provided service in fluent Japanese. If I may make one request, while it's nice that the atmosphere is quiet, it can be a bit too quiet and make me feel a little self-conscious. I think playing background music would make the restaurant even more comfortable. Nevertheless, it's a great restaurant, especially in these times!

I used to go there occasionally for work, but the other day I tried their new menu item, Mapo Tofu Ramen. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. The ramen came in a small pot with a generous serving of spicy mapo tofu on top. It was delicious and really whet my appetite. I also ordered a side of two large pieces of fried chicken, which were amazing. I left feeling completely satisfied both in my stomach and in my heart. ☺️
