Today's lunch was at "Korean Restaurant AYAN" in Kyoto, located at the Research Park on the southeast corner of the Gijo Nana Honmatsu intersection in Shimogyo-ku. The restaurant serves Korean cuisine and is situated on the ground floor of a building facing the Nana Honmatsu Street where other eateries are also located. The interior has table seating surrounded by high partitions, resembling a yakiniku restaurant or a casual dining style. The lunch menu seems to consist of soup as the main dish with side dishes and rice included. Even the cold noodles are served as soup with rice. Although the details of each menu are not specified, out of respect for the restaurant, I decided to splurge and ordered the "Sul Lung Tang set meal" for 1,500 yen. Various items are set on the table, such as thin silver chopsticks, flat spoons, metal cups, and a water jug, creating a Korean atmosphere. Side dishes and rice are brought to the table, with the rice served in a metal bowl cautioning that it is hot. Finally, the Sul Lung Tang arrives in a stone pot, completing the Korean set meal. The salad and Wiener sauté have an ethnic flavor that feels refreshing. The four plates include the classic kimchi and bean sprout namul. There is also a side dish of sesame-dressed fuki-like vegetables and shiitake mushrooms. Each can be refilled for an additional 100 yen, which is a unique system. The main Sul Lung Tang is served piping hot and boiling. It is a dish made by simmering beef and beef bones, resulting in a lightly cloudy soup with a deep umami flavor. It is delicious on its own, but adding a bit of salt and pepper from the side enhances the taste. The soup is generously filled with beef, which is tender from being thoroughly cooked, although it doesn't feel like a distinct ingredient. It seems that the soup is the main focus of the dish. Although it may not be a familiar cuisine, I was able to enjoy it at this specialty restaurant.

I watched the morning show "Yoi Don" and decided to have lunch there. They had about 5 types of soup menu and cold noodles. I tried the Solntang and it was really delicious, with an authentic Korean flavor. My friend ordered the Sundubu, and when I tried it, it was also amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant for those who love Korean food.
