It was a long time since I had a meal with my senior who loves traveling and delicious food. We always have a great time sharing travel stories and they always choose amazing restaurants. This time was no exception, as we visited the flagship Ushigoros in Shinjuku. The restaurant is located on the 11th floor of the HULIC & New SHINJUKU building, just a minute walk from Shinjuku Sanchome Station. We enjoyed the Q course, a Shinjuku store exclusive, which consisted of 14 dishes for ¥22,000. The meal started with a delicious consomme soup made with snapping turtle and truffles, followed by a Champagne Cuvee 738 Extra Brut that had a rich and aromatic flavor. The meal continued with dishes like red meat and kelp hand rolls, seasonal vegetable appetizers, foie gras and selected cuts tartare, and ultimate black tongue thick slices and special harami. Each dish was expertly prepared and presented, making the dining experience truly unforgettable. It was a delightful evening spent with great company and exquisite food.

The restaurant has been awarded as one of the top 100 restaurants in the 2022 Tabelog BBQ category. It offers a full-service yakiniku experience in completely private rooms, providing a calm and sophisticated atmosphere that is unexpected in Shinjuku. Every year, I always celebrate my birthday at this restaurant. The food and service never disappoint, and this time was no exception. I had the opportunity to be treated to a meal at the upscale yakiniku restaurant "S" for the first time in my life! Everything about it was on a different level. The course menu was delicious in every aspect. It was the best course, like something out of "Avengers: Endgame", with high-quality ingredients and top-grade cuts of meat. Surprisingly, everything harmonized perfectly. The potage had a pure white sweetness with a hint of saltiness from the wagyu jelly, creating a great balance. The hand rolls matched the juiciness of the lean meat with the crispiness of the tiger prawn. Instead of the usual kimchi and namul assortment, there was a delicate arrangement of seasonally flavored vegetables. The yukhoe and tartare were a perfect dish with the best meat complemented by abalone and caviar. The tongue had an exceptional tenderness, and the harami had an overwhelming juiciness and umami. The harami might be the best I've ever had. The salad featured fresh sea urchin paired perfectly with seasonal eggplant paste. And then there was the restaurant's specialty, the katsu sandwich. It surpassed all expectations with a soft and flavorful chateaubriand topped generously with truffles. The grilled shabu-shabu at the end, with the delightful herbaceous vegetables, was a wonderful pairing. The sukiyaki not only had exceptional meat but also an outstanding quality of eggs. The palate cleanser was a refreshing kimchi that was energizing and perfect for early summer. Even the dessert was lovely and left me in awe. The finale of the rice cooked in a clay pot featured generous portions of premium fillet meat and eel. It felt more like experiencing a high-end meat entertainment rather than just having yakiniku. Finally tried Ushigoro S and it was amazing!! It completely changes the concept of yakiniku. Every dish was impressive. The experience of being moved with every bite is something you can't find elsewhere. It's incredible. The katsu sandwich in particular was so melty, a first for me. And then the grilled shabu-shabu, sukiyaki, and clay pot rice in the second half just kept building on the deliciousness in my mouth. It was such a luxurious experience, and since I tried the most expensive course, it might be the last time...

I was able to relax away from the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku, as the staff cooked the meat to perfection to match it. The meat was incredibly delicious. Additionally, the cold noodle-like dish with cabbage and the intensely fragrant milk ice cream were also amazing.

I heard that the summer menu had started, so I visited the Shinjuku store right away. I always look forward to the hand-rolled sushi, which had deep-fried shrimp this time! The texture and aroma are always enjoyable and delicious. The cold pure white potage soup for summer had a rich flavor with consomme jelly inside, which was also a refreshing taste. On this day, I enjoyed exquisite dishes that can only be tasted at Ushigoro. The meat selection included Saga beef aged 40 months, except for tongue and skirt. The pure white cold potage soup was rich with sweetness. It was topped with consomme jelly, which you mix while eating. The selected cuts and deep-fried shrimp hand roll included Uchimomo meat and delicious fried shrimp. Each item was tasty on its own, but even more delicious when eaten together. The seasonal vegetable selection included new potatoes and green onions miso, beets, Kyoto greens and yuba, moroheiya and plum, okawakame, and dried persimmons. Okawakame had a good texture, and dried persimmons were my favorite dish to end the meal. The selected cuts and abalone yukhoe included Uchimomo and zabuton meat, finely chopped crunchy abalone, and a sticky yukhoe texture to enjoy. The caviar and Wagyu tartare were delicious. The Wagyu tongue was thick and allowed you to savor the tongue flavor. The selected skirt steak, summer vegetable salad, Chateaubriand and truffle cutlet sandwich, and Wagyu sirloin and aromatic vegetable shabu-shabu were all enjoyable dishes. The Wagyu fillet and truffle sukiyaki were the perfect way to finish the meal. The palate-cleansing water kimchi, eel and selected cuts rice in a clay pot, and water dumplings with Japanese sugar ice cream were all new menu items at Ushigoro. The water dumplings had a strong warabi fragrance and a soft texture. The service was excellent, and you could feel the warmth of the staff while enjoying a delightful feast.

This is the third S restaurant after Nishi-Azabu and Ginza. Actually, when it comes to going to Yokohama, Shinjuku is the most accessible! Take the Toyoko-Fukutoshin Line straight from Minatomirai to Shinjuku Sanchome. Plus, it's a building near the station, so I decided to meet up with my friends in Shinjuku! The view from above of that bustling city looks completely different as well. Tonight's course includes Truffle and Softshell Turtle Beef Consommé, which has a rich flavor of softshell turtle concentrated in it. It harmonizes the umami of beef and is a suitable consommé to start feeling the S vibe from the beginning. Selected lean meat, cherry shrimp, and wood sorrel hand rolls are like a signature dish now, resembling the teppanyaki at a high-end yakiniku restaurant. The combination of the umami of lean meat and the crispy texture of cherry shrimp is an indescribable best match! Caviar and Smoked Wagyu Tartare is a smoked tartare using Italian caviar. The saltiness of the caviar has an outstanding impact. This dish also offers stable deliciousness. Selected cuts and thinly sliced Japanese flying squid with fresh sea urchin is an impressive sashimi that looks like it could be served at a high-end Japanese restaurant. It showcases its appeal beyond just the meat. Seasonal vegetables, another staple menu that changes with the seasons. Ultimate Black Tongue Special Selected Harami was cooked perfectly by the skilled chef. The quality of the meat is top-notch. Salad Chateaubriand Cutlet Sandwich is another classic dish in the beef series. The truffle scent using French Provence is irresistible. The meat is tender and the taste is satisfying. Selected lean meat grilled shabu-shabu and Zabuton sukiyaki are also classic dishes at S. These are must-try menu items. For a palate cleanser, there's a bamboo shoot and selected cut meat clay pot rice. Even in May, you can enjoy bamboo shoots and feel fully satisfied. The dessert is Rare Cheesecake Ice Cream!! Amazing food with excellent service!! When you feel like having meat on a Sunday night, you have to go to S. I will definitely visit again!

I have been to the Ushigoro S restaurant in Nishiazabu a few times, but today I visited the relatively new Shinjuku branch that opened in March 2022. Unlike the Nishiazabu branch, the Shinjuku branch has a slightly less luxurious feel in terms of its layout and atmosphere. "S" restaurants are full-service style where the dedicated grill master cooks the meat to perfection for you. It's truly a blissful yakiniku experience! The menu is almost the same as the one in Nishiazabu, but the Shinjuku branch offers some unique drinks such as the "Real Lemon Sour," which is refreshing and easy to drink despite its 30% alcohol content. Among the delicious dishes, two stand out: the selected cuts of meat and thinly sliced squid sashimi, and the Chateaubriand katsu sandwich. Both are absolutely delicious! Although the prices are high, you can never go wrong with "S" restaurants. I will definitely be back! Thank you for the wonderful meal! Ahh~.

I visited the Shinjuku branch of S in the early evening. I had visited the S in Nishi-Azabu a few times before, but this was my first time at the Shinjuku store. The 11th floor of the building is "S", while the 12th floor is Bambiina, so be careful not to get off at the wrong floor. First of all, the view is great. It's not often that you get to have a meal while looking at the buildings of Shinjuku, and I could even see the recently built Kabukicho Tower. I won't go into detail about the quality of the food as I think the photos speak for themselves. I had the K course, which included truffle and softshell turtle beef consommé, selected lean meat and cherry shrimp hand rolls, caviar and smoked wagyu tartare, selected cuts of meat and firefly squid sashimi with sea urchin, seasonal vegetables, ultimate black tongue, special harami, salad, chateaubriand cutlet sandwich, selected lean meat and celery yakiniku, zabuton sukiyaki with truffle, palate cleanser, bamboo shoots and selected cuts of meat clay pot rice, mascarpone ice cream with blueberry sauce. I had the K course, but since I don't like cheese, I asked to change the dessert to rare cheese ice cream to the dessert of the Q course below, hojicha ice cream sandwich. It was delicious as always. It was a dinner full of smiles. The cutlet sandwich was so delicious that my friend and I even talked about wanting them to sell it as a souvenir. Tender meat, freshly toasted bread, truffle butter and truffle topping. Delicious! It's easy to access along the Yamanote Line, so I'm very happy with this location of USHIGORO.S!

Today I felt like having yakiniku. I went to a place in Shinjuku that is a step up from Ushigoro's regular series. The chic atmosphere was lovely, and the private rooms were nice. I had beef consommé soup, beef inner thigh with caviar, selected lean meat rolls with seasonal vegetables, premium black tongue, harami, Chateaubriand mille-feuille, selected cuts with sauce, salad, clay pot rice with truffle and wagyu tartare, subton sukiyaki, selected sirloin, clam broth ramen, lemon ice cream. The total cost was around 27,000 yen. The food was delicious, but it wasn't mind-blowing, so in terms of value for money, it was just okay.

I entered the restaurant on a Saturday night after playing golf. I ordered the S course. The special selection harami truffle and wagyu tartare were particularly delicious and the taste was satisfying. However, it didn't exceed my expectations and the cost performance was just okay. The atmosphere in all private rooms was very nice, and the staff's service was excellent, so that was the highlight. I don't think I will visit again next time.

I never knew there was such a great restaurant in Shinjuku! The food, hospitality, and the selection of alcohol were all top-notch. It's worth the price. The private room was calm and perfect for special occasions. I would love to visit again. I also got a takeaway of clay pot rice, and they wrapped it carefully, which was very impressive!
