Sunday limited dessert buffet lunch~♪ I made a reservation the day before because I heard that there was a limited time offer for a dessert buffet during lunch hours. The reservation was available for those who arrive between 11:00-11:30, and there is also a daily dessert buffet from 14:30-16:30 during cafe time. The lunch set includes an Italian salad bar + dessert buffet + free drink for 1,680 yen (excluding tax). I arrived 2 minutes before the 15:00 reservation time, and there were already several groups waiting outside the restaurant. The restaurant opened promptly, and I was the first to be seated following the reservation. The lunch set includes a choice of pasta or pizza, and I opted for the Scallops and Asparagus Tomato Cream Pasta in a smaller portion (apparently, the dinner buffet offers side dishes like roasted duck). After placing my order, I went to the buffet table to choose my items. I picked various desserts from the buffet, except for the caramel one. From the salad bar, I avoided items I don't like and focused on soups and non-carb options. The pasta arrived after about 10 minutes, and I took some photos before digging in. The antipasto included marinated peppers, pickles, sweet potato salad, sautéed pumpkin, and tomato-stewed mixed beans. The flavors were not too strong as mentioned in reviews, and everything tasted pretty good. However, there were fewer raw vegetables in the salad bar than expected, with only lettuce, red cabbage, bean sprouts, and onion slices available. The pasta was average, slightly salty, and in a smaller portion as requested, which made me wonder if I should have ordered more. I requested some cheese to be grated on top, which added a nice touch. I also had pumpkin soup, focaccia, and okra for seconds. The focaccia was dry and not enjoyable when dipped in pasta sauce. The pumpkin soup was light with a good amount of vegetables. Finally, it was time for desserts, and I was looking forward to the Baked Cheesecake and Cheesecake Tart with two layers, which were the most popular. Unfortunately, they were not to my taste, lacking cheese flavor and being overly sweet. The Pumpkin Tart was tasty with cinnamon powder, but still on the sweeter side. The Montebianco, a chestnut and chocolate cake, was too sweet for me. The Brownie with almonds and walnuts had a nice texture with cinnamon but was too rich and gooey for my liking. Out of the 12 dessert options, I found 7 cakes, including 2 chocolate ones, 3 jellies, a pudding, and caramel, to be generally too sweet for my taste. Some desserts seemed more commercial-like. The jellies were flavorful with a strong fruit juice taste. Despite the 120-minute time limit for dessert refills, I decided not to have seconds as I was already full from the pasta. After about 80 minutes, I left the restaurant. The total bill, after a 5% discount from a coupon on Tabelog, came to 2,103 yen, which seemed a bit higher than expected. When I asked about the pasta options, there was no mention of an additional charge, so I was a bit confused about the final amount. Overall, despite the popularity and full house, I felt that the cost-performance ratio was not as great as I had hoped for, especially considering the time and effort it took to get there. I walked for 30 minutes in 30-degree heat to burn off some of the calories on my way back to the station, and then spent another hour on the train ride home. I hope it was worth it. Thank you for the meal.
