You can park your bicycle in front of the store, and there is a parking lot nearby. You can order at the register and secure a seat. Water is self-service. They bring the food to your table while you read. There are power outlets, many people working alone, and you can get a discount coupon if you buy a book, which is a nice touch. The locals working there give it a nice atmosphere, but you can still relax. The only downside is the part-time staff, who should explain the system better. I understand the self-service water, but what happens after you finish eating? The Demi-Glace Omurice (¥700) is like, "Isn't this enough already?" You can make this at home. Japan is amazing. The set plan seems popular with the locals. They open at 8 am, making it easy to drop by anytime. Once the pandemic is over, you can plan your visit for work. The only downside is that the main store at Vivre Katsuragawa has an easy-to-use parking lot at Aeon, but here, using a car is a bit of a hassle.

I took a break somewhere and entered this café. I ordered a banana smoothie and sat at the counter seat, relaxing by myself. The smoothie was cool and fairly rich, refreshing both my throat and body. Although there were quite a few customers, it was quiet and comfortable! They also have a food menu and morning options, so I will definitely visit again sometime for a casual visit!

It is clear that the food is made using commercial ingredients by student workers, but the taste is not bad. The prices are reasonable, so it's not a bad choice for casual dining. However, it is a cafe attached to a bookstore, not a library. Be prepared for a noisy atmosphere inside. If you don't mind the noise and still want to read books, it might not be a problem. Personally, I won't be going back.

I entered the cafe at Daikaku Bookstore near Shimogamo. The retro atmosphere here is calming. It's easy to relax, so many students come to study. Today, I had a tart and enjoyed a leisurely time. I was able to refresh myself.

There are outlets available and many people working, so it's easy to work here as long as it's not for a long period of time.

I found a book cafe that caught my eye when I passed by before! I decided to give it a try and went in. Inside, it looked like a regular cafe? They offer light meals, desserts, and a variety of drinks. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. There is self-service for water. The cafe seems to attract a lot of solo customers, mostly older. There are power outlets available, so you can use your laptop. I found a cozy sofa seat and ordered a blend coffee for 270 yen and an Earl Grey tea for 370 yen. There aren't many options, but there are various books to read while you wait. The blend coffee had a nice aroma, and the Earl Grey tea was served in a pot with high-quality leaves and a strong bergamot scent. It was enough for two cups. Overall, even on a weekday evening, the cafe was busy with customers coming in one after another. The sofa was comfortable, and although it's not a chatty atmosphere, it's a popular spot to quietly relax. The prices are reasonable, making it a great place to visit.

On a cool rainy night, I felt like I needed some work materials and decided to stop by Takano Ogaki Bookstore. The parking in front of the bookstore was a bit intimidating, so I ended up parking at the 100 yen parking lot next to it after a few attempts. Feeling a bit exhausted, I mustered up some excitement and headed into the store. I quickly purchased some books related to tourism in Kyoto and even got a 50 yen discount coupon for the cafe next door. I eagerly made my way to the cafe, where I spotted my favorite New York cheesecake in the glass display case. There was only one left, so I quickly ordered it along with an iced tea and a caramel latte for my friend. As I sat at the counter waiting, the cheesecake was finally served to me. I took a moment to admire it before taking a bite, and the taste was simply heavenly. My friend jokingly urged me to eat it quickly, but I couldn't help but savor every bite of the delicious cheesecake. The cheesecake had the perfect balance of texture, a hint of tanginess, and just the right amount of sweetness that paired perfectly with the crust. The caramel latte was also delightful, sweet enough without the need for extra sugar. Overall, it was a delightful experience that made me feel grateful for being alive.

There are various places around the Kitaoji and Koya intersection, such as an electronics store, Sakyo post office, Izumiya, NTT Docomo, and a bookstore that I recently found out is under the umbrella of Ogaki Shoten (a bookstore chain based in Kyoto). Today, I decided to have a light lunch here. I ordered a mixed fried rice and an iced tea set for 780 yen at the entrance counter. The iced tea alone is 340 yen, but it seems to be discounted as part of the lunch set. I just have to wait at the table. They will bring the food, but for other things like water and tray return, it's self-service. There are various customers here, such as university students preparing for exams, local middle-aged ladies, and solo customers like myself after shopping at the bookstore. There are many two-seater tables and a large central table. There are also outdoor terrace seats, but on a day with a high temperature of 34 degrees like today, no one is sitting outside. Now, the fried rice. Of course, I don't have the illusion that there is a kitchen with a cook working hard with a wok in the back. It's clearly something taken out of a pack and reheated. The taste is okay. The tea is just average. Well, you don't expect to be amazed by the food at a place like this, right? I'm not a fan of Starbucks because of reasons like not liking their coffee, their complicated ordering system, and the fact that almost every customer seems to believe they look cool just by being there (especially at the Starbucks on Sanjo Street). In that sense, this place lacks any pretentiousness, and it's a space where even I can relax. Alright, I'll do some shopping and head back home soon.

Located in the Rakuhoku area, Ogaki Bookstore is a unique bookstore with a personality. It was one of the first stores to combine books and cafes, a concept that is becoming more popular nowadays. The trendy and stylish interior is unified with natural wood tones. The store features a large desk with advertising for fashionable reading glasses, and opens at 8 in the morning. I chose the A set from the three breakfast options, which includes a drink, buttered toast, salad, boiled egg, and two sausages. The salad can be dressed with French or Japanese dressing, and I chose the latter. The toast was large and delicious, with butter seeping into it, creating a rich flavor. The sausages were long and generously portioned, served with plenty of ketchup. The coffee was mild and refreshing. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful, making it a comfortable place to spend a relaxing morning.

Yes, so I'm here at Matsugasaki. I still have some time before meeting up, so I'm here to adjust my schedule. It's a cafe attached to a bookstore. The interior is simple and tastefully done. They're playing jazz in the background. I chose the Morning Set A. It comes with toast, hot coffee, and a mini salad. The salad is a simple cabbage-based salad. The dressing is a bit on the heavy side. The boiled egg is hard-boiled. I eat it while adjusting the taste with salt. The toast already has butter spread on it, a classic taste. It comes with two sausages. The coffee is light and tasty. It was a classic morning taste. Thank you for the meal.

I was wondering when the café at Ogaki Shoten, which I have been relying on for a long time, opened. I never had a chance to visit, but yesterday I had a meeting nearby and used it to adjust my schedule. I should have chosen a soft drink, but when I looked at the menu, they had beer, wine, and highballs. Without hesitation, I ordered a beer and paid at the register before taking my seat. The beer was Premium Malt, and although I prefer Malt, the small bottle design is cool, so it's all good.

This is a cafe located next to Daigaku Bookstore. I bought a book at Daigaku Bookstore and am now having coffee at the cafe. During lunchtime, it seems that local residents gather here to chat, like a neighborhood meeting. I waited a bit before coming to the cafe. The interior of the cafe is calming with a wooden design, and the bright atmosphere makes it easy to read the book I bought. The toast, coffee, and salad are just right to satisfy my hunger. The salad is a bit bland, though. The boiled egg is hard to peel, so it would be easier to eat if the sliced egg is placed on the salad. This is just my personal opinion, sorry.
