Two bottles of beer, assorted kimchi, premium tongue, salted prime beef intestines with ponzu vinegar, ultimate kalbi, marbled beef skirt, egg soup, and a large serving of rice, all for one person, totaling exactly ¥10,000. I visited the restaurant at 2:30 PM. The flavors were good, but the portion sizes were small, and the gas grill's heat was weak. The rice was disappointing. However, I appreciate the fact that they are open for lunch. It's more like a yakiniku izakaya than a traditional yakiniku restaurant.

During the Obon holiday period, I visited Yakiniku Ohtomisan with my colleagues. This place was opened a few years ago, almost as a successor to the long-established Yakiniku Sankyoshi. We opted for a course meal with a 120-minute all-you-can-drink plan for 6000 yen including tax, which we reserved through Hot Pepper. We started with kimchi, cabbage, and namul, then moved on to chicken, tongue salt, onion, hormone, and lean meat. The meat quality was decent and quite delicious. We had the option of all-you-can-eat rice or choosing egg soup, so we went with the egg soup. For drinks, we enjoyed draft beer and highballs. The smoky atmosphere of a yakiniku restaurant really enhances the flavor of the meat. The interior of the restaurant has a nostalgic Showa era vibe, but the staff are all young, which was interesting. The service was polite and good. I recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind getting a bit smelly or dirty when visiting this place. They provide plastic covers for your belongings, but be aware that the dishes here are heavy on garlic, so if you have plans later on, take that into consideration.

You can tell from the way they handle the meat with care in the oven kitchen that they put a lot of effort into each dish. They respond quickly when you order a drink. The glasses are beautiful and surprising.

I had been curious about Ohtomi for a while, but I always felt intimidated by the atmosphere from the outside and never got around to going. I decided to give it a try on a whim. I had always pictured it as an old place run by an older man with regular customers, but all the staff were young and there were customers of all different types. I thought the seating would be limited, but it turns out they have a second floor as well. I ordered the tendon yukhoe, harami, kalbi, and tripe. The yukhoe had delicious meat and the sauce was amazing. The harami had no smell and the tripe had a nice chewy texture. The kalbi had just the right amount of fat and the more you chewed, the more sweetness you could taste. It was a shame that smoking was allowed, as it was bothersome when the person next to me smoked and the smell and smoke lingered. By the time I left, I could smell the smoke and grilled meat on my clothes. Thankfully, there was a plastic bag in the basket at my feet, so my belongings didn't get dirty or smelly.

I have always wanted to visit Oto-san. Every time I pass by here, there is a nice smell... I started with yukhoe, then had meat and bibimbap. Personally, the heavenly meat and tongue salt were delicious! The bibimbap to finish was also amazing. I don't know... it looked beautiful too. Even though they must be busy, the dishes were beautifully arranged. I could see the head chef cutting the tongue when sitting at the counter. The staff were also young and friendly.

This is my second post, but I have visited a few times in between. I had lunch in Kawaramachi. I tried the horumon set meal and I'm addicted to it. The recommended way to eat at the restaurant is to lightly rinse the tare sauce and the meat with it, then say "Delicious!" It's such a pleasure to enjoy such a satisfying lunch in the middle of the tourist spot Kawaramachi in Kyoto. I'm really happy that you can make a reservation in advance. Today was also very delicious. So far, I haven't found any other similar restaurants, it's truly one of a kind (in terms of being able to use a set meal for lunch). I want to continue using it from now on, thank you for the meal!

It's a yakiniku restaurant where even one person can enter. The location is such that you can see some foreigners. The prices are a bit high, and I stopped when I was 80% full, but it cost around 6000 yen. But it was delicious. It was a place where I would like to go again.

I had the 980 yen Hormone set for lunch. It was quite a generous portion. The sauce was delicious. You can choose from large, medium, or small rice. I read in other reviews that the rice wasn't tasty, but it seems to have been improved. It's actually quite delicious now! I would like to visit this restaurant again.

I revisited the restaurant after having a satisfying lunch last time. This time, I also had the hormone set meal. However, the hormone part was completely different from last time. I'm not sure if it changes daily depending on the ingredients, or if it just changed. It was quite disappointing. Also, the sauce seemed a bit spicier this time.

Yakiniku Otomi Kyoto is a popular yakiniku restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station in Kyoto. Despite being tucked away in a back alley, the restaurant often has long lines due to its popularity. It has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere and is a well-loved establishment in the area. The taste of the food is excellent, and you might even feel like you could eat everything raw because it's so delicious.

On this day, both of us were in the mood for yakiniku. We met in front of the Minamiza Theater and decided to try our luck at the famous yakiniku restaurant, Tendan Gion in Kyoto, without a reservation. However, they informed us that there was a wait of about 1.5 hours for walk-in customers. Since we wanted to finish lunch by 1 pm, we decided to give up on that plan. Instead, my husband remembered a horumon (offal) restaurant he saw in Kawaramachi during our morning stroll, so we headed there.
Located in Ura-tera, this yakiniku restaurant had both counter and table seating. It seemed quite popular as most of the seats were taken, but we were fortunate to be seated at the counter right away. We ordered the horumon set for my husband and the mixed set for me. We also ordered drinks - beer and oolong tea - and made a toast to start our lunch.
The tabletop grill was lit, and we were served with meat, rice, and soup promptly. The portions of horumon and mixed sets were huge! We decided not to order additional items after all. The horumon included various cuts, and though some parts had a slight odor when grilled, the marbled meat was tender and quite good. The soup was also tasty.
However, the disappointing part was the rice - it was dry and hard. Both my husband and I gave up on the rice. Nevertheless, my husband enjoyed his beer to make up for it. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the feast!

I went to Kawaramachi for the first time in a while. It was bustling with people. I had lunch at Uradera. There used to be a very Showa-era Horumon shop, followed by a shop called Oto, which I visited for the first time. They offer lunch until 5:00 PM, and I had the Horumon set meal for 980 yen and a medium bottle of beer for 550 yen. You can get rice refills with the set meal, and it comes with Kakuteki and egg soup. You can also add 100g of additional Horumon for 680 yen, which is great! The amount of Horumon in the dish was really generous. I felt like shouting "Yay!" The smoke from the gas stove adds a nice touch. Unlike charcoal grills, the meat becomes moist and tender. It was a very satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal!

I'm happy that I can eat yakiniku from lunchtime. The meat is neither good nor bad. The prices are a bit higher than expected. I thought there would be a seasoned owner based on the appearance of the store, but the staff are all young. The downside is that the toilet is small and Japanese-style. There are a decent number of customers, but you can get in without waiting.

There are surprisingly few yakiniku restaurants that serve lunch, so I was happy to find one. I was lured in by the smell as I walked past the restaurant. It was around 4 PM, but they still had lunch available, so I tried the hormone lunch set. It came with plenty of hormone and you could get free refills of rice. The taste was good as well. However, the rice was a bit dry, I'm not sure if it was due to the time or the quality of the rice. It was a bit disappointing considering how satisfying the meat was, but overall, I would still consider going back.

I had been curious about the famous restaurant called Miyoshi for a while, and when I saw the sign for their roast beef bowl, I suddenly felt like trying it. The place had a nostalgic atmosphere with old TV shows playing in the background. The interior was a bit sticky, but in a different way than Miyoshi. The staff were all young and sometimes made me want to joke around with them. The roast beef bowl was delicious, but it was more like beef tataki with a strong raw meat flavor. It would be nice if they improved their service, as they forgot to bring water even though it was lunchtime and asked if we wanted any drinks. Maybe it's a place where you need to have a beer first before trying the real deal. I might need some extra energy and courage to visit again...

Today, I had some business to attend to at Takashimaya, so I went to Ura Teramachi nearby... I passed by popular places for lunch and daytime drinking, but I ended up at a yakiniku restaurant I had never been to before. Since it was lunchtime, they had lunch menus available. Due to the pandemic, I haven't been going out much except with my husband. I sat at the counter and noticed a group of women having a girls' get-together behind me. I wish I could have that kind of fun with my friends too. Anyway, I started with a beer (^-^)/ They brought a simmered dish as a complimentary appetizer. I ordered the following: Appetizer: Napa cabbage kimchi - 380 yen Side dish: Steamed agi (beef innards) - 680 yen Yakiniku: Upper harami (skirt steak) - 1280 yen Head meat - 780 yen Upper mino (tripe) - 780 yen The upper harami didn't feel much different from regular harami, but the upper mino was easy to eat and came with a knife for cutting. The head meat was high-quality and delicious. The highlight was the steamed agi! Normally, agi is tough in regular yakiniku, but here they steam it. You eat it with ponzu sauce and green onions. It was tender and very easy to eat, highly recommended! After two beers each, it was time to leave. Although the conversation didn't flow much, and we were done in 30 minutes (^^;))) It might have been just a coincidence, but there were a lot of women there. Thank you for the meal.

I finally got to go to a place I've been wanting to go for a long time! Otomi's lunch! What I had that day was the Hormone Yaki Set Meal for 980 yen, which comes with kimchi, soup, and rice. Even though the photo shows two servings, it's too much for two people! For just 980 yen per person, the food was so delicious and filling, I thought the cost performance was really good! The rich sauce of the hormone dish made the rice really go down well!!

I reopened an old yakiniku restaurant with minimal renovation, so it's not sparkling new, but it's located behind Kawaramachi OPA and female customers are coming in steadily. I ordered the Hormone Teishoku for 980 yen. The hormone taken out from the refrigerator is fresh. It comes with about four different types, mixed with onions. You can choose from large, medium, or small portions (refills are also available), and it comes with rice, soup, and a little bit of kimchi. You can grill it at your own pace and enjoy it with rice. The hormone was of a quite high quality, as you can see.

Located in the back streets of Teramachi, just one street west of Shijo Kawaramachi in Nakagyo Ward, Kyoto, is a yakiniku restaurant. It is said to be the place where Yakiniku Miyoshi used to be. The restaurant was apparently started by a man named Bucky Inoue. Some people may know him from magazines like meets in Kansai, as he also runs a business in Nishiki Market. Although the interior has been renovated, you can still see traces of the past. I tried the lunch set with various individual cuts of meat like tongue and tripe. It felt almost like having yakiniku for dinner. The meat was decent and the prices were reasonable considering the location.

It has been some time since my visit, around 17:00 before the emergency declaration. Currently, with the declaration lifted, the opening hours are probably from 12:00 to 23:00 (last order at 22:30), but please check with the store. It is located on the west side of OPA, with a very retro exterior full of Showa era vibes. They serve appetizers, and we ordered the Hormone MIX twice as my partner wanted to try it, along with Tongue Salt, raw Senmai, Top Minoponzu, Honeycomb Tripe, and Top Harami. I vaguely remember that everything tasted good. However, if you want to eat hormone, I prefer Chiba-san's place. The staff is energetic, which is nice, but the bubbly girl who served us was a bit too chatty. I wonder if that's the current style of customer service. This time, we visited at night and ordered a la carte, and while it felt slightly expensive for a hormone restaurant, the lunch menu seems more cost-effective. The fact that they are open all day is convenient, and it seems perfectly fine to dine alone with counter seating available. Thank you for the meal.
