After having a meal with friends in Kyoto, we stopped by the nearby dining bar "marib". The interior of the restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with wooden counter seats and tables. They had a wide variety of drinks and a diverse menu including pizzas and pasta, making it a convenient and comfortable dining bar. The dishes we tried were the Chita Highball, Kenhachi Highball, and Mixed Nuts. Despite the ongoing pandemic, the number of foreign tourists in Kyoto has been increasing compared to last year, and we noticed several foreign tourists at this restaurant. Located very close to Shijo Karasuma, this place is perfect for a second round as well. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I decided to visit the restaurant "Maribuno Ue" without making a reservation since I couldn't find their phone number. Unfortunately, when I arrived, the restaurant was full. I was seated at the counter on the first floor. Luckily, I managed to get a seat, as the person who came after me was turned away due to the restaurant being full. Surprisingly, the restaurant allowed smoking, with ashtrays even at the counter. I ordered a glass of "Kido Junmai Daiginjo" for 1000 yen, along with octopus and avocado salad, fried mushrooms, deep-fried flounder, and chicken macaroni gratin, totaling 4000 yen. The food was delicious, although I didn't particularly enjoy the Kido sake, the Junmai Daiginjo was indeed tasty. The restaurant didn't have a typical Kyoto vibe, but it was very reasonably priced. The only downside was the smoking allowed in the restaurant. Overall, I had a good time and I am grateful.

There are not many places around here where you can eat dessert late, but this place was open! However, it was quite noisy because there was a group next to us having a second party or something. The desserts were great, they had things like matcha butter and fondant chocolate.

I had some time before meeting my friends, so I searched on Tabelog for a place where I could smoke alone. This place seemed easy to enter. Indeed, when I arrived around 7:30, there were no other customers. I went in and ordered a drink at the counter. It seemed like there was a group reservation after me, as the raised table seating was already taken. I only stayed for a short while, but it was a nice atmosphere and I felt comfortable.

Lunchtime is completely non-smoking. The Chinese restaurant across the street is closed on Mondays, so it's always full from 11:45 onwards. The turnover rate is fast, so you can get a seat depending on the timing. The daily lunch special for ¥800 is a great deal. The miso soup is delicious with lots of ingredients.

Vietnamese-style spring rolls are delicious! The "amazing! Ankake fried rice" wasn't very good. I also like spaghetti and pizza, they are delicious! (*^^*)

The friendly manager serves dishes that go well with alcohol. The atmosphere is also very nice.

I sometimes use this restaurant as it is located near my house. The counter has comfortable chairs, and you can relax in any seat, which is a good point. The food and drinks are also varied, making it suitable for use as a second or subsequent stop.

I always use this place for our second round, but this time it was our first stop. The fluffy egg and potato salad was delicious! The fluffy egg is scrambled with a strong taste of artificial seasoning though, and the potatoes are fried once. It seems like a lot of effort was put into it. The Mee Goreng and Nasi Goreng were not that great. The rice dishes here are a bit too soft and the seasoning is not to my liking. It would be nice if they had curry here. The must-order items here are the fluffy egg and potato salad, fresh spring rolls, fried squid, pasta, and sesame pizza.

I have used this restaurant many times. I am happy that they are open late. Surprisingly, the food is delicious. Reading other reviews, it seems like there may be some variation in taste. Maybe the chef has changed and the food has improved? The pasta can vary between thin and thick noodles, but they are cooked perfectly with a good texture. There is a wide variety of drink and food options, making it suitable for both a first visit or a repeat visit. I have not tried the course menu, but based on the salad and fried chicken, it seems average. I didn't like the spare ribs I had before, but I would definitely come back for the calamari tempura, vongole bianco pasta, and basil pizza!

I felt like having hamburg steak that day, so I went to this restaurant. It's a Western-style dining bar in the evening, but they offer a variety of Western-style set meals for lunch, with hand-made hamburg steak being the main dish. You can choose from a simple daily set menu to a hearty fried dish set depending on your appetite. On that day, they had a set menu with cream croquette, so I ordered that. Normally, the hamburg steak comes with a Japanese-style grated radish sauce, but you can also change it to demi-glace sauce for an additional 20 yen. The hamburg steak had a good meaty texture, which I personally liked. I was satisfied and full after the meal, so I think the satisfaction level was high. During lunchtime, the restaurant quickly gets packed with nearby office ladies and salarymen, showing its popularity. I thought it's a good place to go when you feel like having a hearty Western meal once in a while.

I wasn't really looking for high-quality food at the dining bar, but this place is outstanding! I went with some colleagues from work and they were all delighted with the delicious food. I was supposed to go again with another colleague, but couldn't make it due to work commitments. It was actually the colleague who couldn't make it who recommended this place to me (laughs). I love chicken tempura, and the chicken tempura here is my favorite I've ever had. We also ordered two pizzas, which were absolutely amazing!

I decided to visit a vegetable buffet at Dono Yasai around 11 o'clock, only to find a huge line. It seems that the opening was delayed, and even after opening, the line continued due to issues with the ticket machine. I couldn't stand this kind of situation. It may be a popular and trendy place, but they need to manage it properly. Following the "New Rule for Eating Logs" by Kasuganomichi, if the line at the ticket machine gets too long, they should stop using it. I reluctantly headed north on Higashinoboin and stumbled upon another restaurant. It seemed empty, so I decided to give it a try. The interior was spacious with a counter and tables. I sat at the counter alone. The service lunch for 800 yen included a choice of hamburger with curry or shrimp fry. I chose the shrimp fry. It was my first time visiting during lunchtime, and a female staff member from the kitchen kept staring at me. It made me feel uncomfortable. The meal arrived in about 5 minutes. It was presented in a unique way, with the shrimp fry on top of the hamburger. It reminded me of a castle tower. The salad and miso soup were ordinary but tasty. The shrimp fry was large, generously sauced, and well fried, with decent quality shrimp. The hamburger was served with grated daikon and ponzu sauce, with a hint of spices. It was quite flavorful. The rice was slightly soft and thinly spread on a plate, making it awkward to eat with chopsticks. Overall, considering the price and location, it was decent. After paying the bill and using the restroom, I left the restaurant. The lack of hospitality was noticeable, as no one greeted me when I left. The restroom was spacious and stylish, with a washlet and amenities available.
