There is a shop located down a small alley on the east side of Kyoto Daimaru. I visited around 3 pm with a friend. Both of us ordered ice coffee. Since I was a little hungry, I also ordered gratin. My friend chose a shortcake. The coffee was served in a tin cup and had a great aroma, the best I've had recently. The gratin was just average in taste. The air conditioning inside was effective, making it comfortable as it was hot outside. When we paid and left, we were surprised to see a long line of people waiting outside.

This is a coffee blend made from coffee beans from the renowned Yirgacheffe region in Ethiopia. It has a bright and refreshing taste, with a light roast and a hint of acidity. I enjoyed it straight and found it to have a refreshing flavor. The coffee is carefully brewed using a drip method for each cup. I would like to try other coffees next time. They also offer French toast and cakes made with Japanese brown sugar.

Kamino Coffee in Karasuma has a luxurious and high-class atmosphere. I was craving something sweet, so I chose the Coffee Granita and Matcha Parfait Latte. It's coffee frozen into a granita topped with matcha ice cream and yogurt ice cream. I drizzled black honey and milk over it. The iced coffee doesn't melt quickly, so you can enjoy the flavor until the end, delicious! They also have pudding and hotcakes, but I decided to skip them today.

A stylish café in the street. They have parfaits and pancakes, but the food menu is not very extensive. The sofa seats are spacious and comfortable. The iced coffee comes in a metal cup, so it stays cold for a while even if you stay longer. It's like an oasis in the city, a good place to take a break.

I had never heard of it before, but apparently it is a coffee shop with locations nationwide. I ordered their "Rich Cafe Au Lait" for 800 yen, and it was served in about 5 minutes. It was described as having a mature taste with a strong coffee flavor and milk, but I found it to be surprisingly easy to drink. In fact, it was finished in a way that even children could enjoy. The cafe has a convenient location and a quiet atmosphere, making it a great place to relax.

I ended up sitting at the fancy seats near the entrance on the first floor since the regular seats at the back were full. The coffee and the morning set were above average, but not outstandingly delicious. The place didn't seem to be crowded, so it could be a good spot for killing time. After visiting Nishiki Market for the first time, I stumbled upon this café. It seems like all cafes in Kyoto have a stylish atmosphere, unlike in Nagoya where I'm from. Nagoya feels more down-to-earth, while Kyoto gives off a sense of sophistication. However, I did notice that there were more average-looking people in the night establishments in Kyoto compared to Nagoya.

Grilled cheese curry & iced coffee ¥1,350. It's just delicious. It's more on the mild side. The portion is small, more suitable for women. The iced coffee has a low acidity and a deep flavor. I added milk to half of it.

I wanted to order the God's Coffee Cake Set as a way to pass the time, but it was almost sold out so I decided not to. I ordered the God's Coffee instead and got a little bit of Mont Blanc and Pancakes. They said the Pancakes would take some time to be served, which was fine, but everything else seemed to be taking too long to be served, don't you think?

I happened to have a meeting near this shop, and before the meeting, I felt like having a delicious coffee, so I ordered takeout from this shop that caught my eye. It has a modern atmosphere, so I have high expectations. It seems like this is a new style of Doutor Coffee shop. I personally like Doutor, so I have even higher expectations. The coffee inside the shop costs 700 yen, but for takeout, I could get it for 580 yen. I chose the Yosen coffee, which had a refreshing aftertaste, a strong aroma, and a fruity flavor. It was very delicious. It's a nice treat for myself. Thank you for the meal.

We were very hungry, so I ordered a sandwich and pudding, while my partner ordered baked curry. And the classic pudding was exactly what I had been craving. It was delicious! While the trend has been towards softer puddings, this firmer pudding had a strong egg flavor that was just right. The caramel wasn't too overpowering and was easy to eat. The atmosphere was relaxing and the place was a bit hard to find, but it's a restaurant I'd like to visit again.

This coffee shop, which has branches mainly in Tokyo and Kyoto, is a brand affiliated with Doutor Coffee. This store in Shijo Takakura was opened in 2018, making it the first branch in Kansai. The interior of the store has a modern and retro design that perfectly matches, creating a chic and calming atmosphere. It stands out from the usual Doutor coffee shops. - Wambo French Toast (Morning Set / 900 yen) It is unclear if it is the same size, but the set that is normally 1,200 yen is available for 300 yen off as a morning set. - Wambo French Toast It has a thickness similar to toast. Although it doesn't have a creamy texture all the way through, the soaking of the batter is well done. Wambo sugar is used in the batter, giving it a smooth and mellow sweetness. - Gessen Deep Roast It has a heavy and rich taste typical of a traditional coffee shop. I chose this coffee assuming it would go well with the sweet French toast, and the balance of moderate bitterness worked well with it.

On the east side of Daimaru, there is a long-established coffee shop called Kanno Coffee. I can't believe there is such a coffee shop right in the heart of Kyoto. The seating extends further back. It has the atmosphere of a traditional coffee shop, with a cozy vibe. The dish I had was the Black Wagyu Beef Hayashi Rice (850 yen). It was served on buttered rice with plenty of demi-glace sauce, and the balsamic vinegar added a nice touch. The portion size is a bit small, so it might be a bit lacking for male customers. I also tried the O-Tamba Egg with Wasanbon Sugar Pudding (550 yen). It was a very simple pudding with a caramel made from wasanbon sugar. The silky pudding had a refined taste with a hint of egg flavor. The caramel was also gentle and well-balanced. The gratin and baked cheese curry also looked delicious. The location is great, so I will definitely visit again. The female staff's customer service was excellent. I felt that they must have received proper training. Thank you for the meal!

There were several coffee options to choose from, which was enjoyable. Despite feeling quite full, the fluffy hotcakes were so light that we easily finished them with maple syrup. We spent about two hours chatting without any interruptions, making it easy to plan our trip with friends. The convenient location and welcoming environment make us want to visit again. While walking around the streets of Kyoto, I stumbled upon this tea shop and decided to have a drink. I was guided to the second floor of the shop, which had a cozy atmosphere with a train-like design. I ordered gratin and coffee, both of which were delicious. I would definitely like to visit this shop again when I pass by.

This is a shop located in front of Takakura-guchi at Daimaru Kyoto. It is a sophisticated café for adults, without being too extravagant from the entrance. The interior of the shop has a deep depth typical of Kyoto's architectural style, known as "eel bed". As the name of the shop suggests, coffee is the main focus here. Since I'm not good at coffee, my aim was the sweets. The seasonal dessert displayed in the showcase, "Lemon Custard Mille-feuille", was delicious! Not too sweet, with just the right amount of lemon acidity. Personally, as someone who loves sour flavors, I wish it had been a bit more sour!

I used this place for a morning activity during my trip to Kyoto. The interior had a sense of luxury with its chairs and tables, creating a calm atmosphere. I ordered the unique dashi tamagoyaki sandwich, which had a fluffy egg omelette with a strong dashi flavor that paired perfectly with the mustard. I definitely want to eat it again when I come to Kansai. I found out that there are also branches in Tokyo, but after researching, it turns out that the coffee there is 300 yen more expensive than in Kyoto!

After exiting Hankyu Karasuma Station and walking east on Shijo Street for about 5 minutes, you will find a store on the east side of Takakura Street, near Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. I heard it was the highest-ranked Doutor, so I visited. Unfortunately, it was non-smoking, but the delicious coffee and cozy atmosphere were exceptional.
