Visited the restaurant on a day off and tried the recommended menu items. - Tomato Okonomiyaki (Mix): The sauce is incredibly delicious! The shrimp is also plump and tasty. It's worth coming here just to eat this. - Okonomiyaki: Pretty average. The Tomato Okonomiyaki was so delicious that my expectations were raised. - Yakisoba: Made with medium-thick noodles and quite tasty. - Potato Salad: Lacking in mayo flavor and a bit bland. I wanted a bit more mayo flavor. The Tomato Okonomiyaki (Mix) was amazing. Highly recommended.

Kyochabana Tomato Okonomiyaki near Kyoto Station is famous. Depending on the time, it can be crowded so it's better to make a reservation. There are table seats and counter seats, but for small groups, the counter seats are recommended. You can enjoy watching the okonomiyaki being cooked, the tamagoyaki being made, and the mayonnaise performance. The taste is delicious, especially when you crush the tomatoes into a sauce. The okonomiyaki has eggs inside, so crushing them to make it even smoother is the best. The side dishes are also delicious, and even though it's an okonomiyaki restaurant, you can also enjoy teppanyaki dishes. The cabbage yakisoba is surprisingly delicious, especially when you mix it well with the sauce. I will definitely come back!

Having a meal at the counter with my senior colleague from work. When asked what my favorite food from around the world is, I immediately answered "tomatoes." Since Kyoto Chabana serves dishes that prominently feature tomatoes, it was the perfect place for me. The tomato okonomiyaki, in particular, was the most delicious I've ever had. I used to go there with my family many times since I was in elementary school, but I regret not ordering this okonomiyaki before. I will definitely go back again!

Located about a 3-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station, this restaurant is known for its tomato okonomiyaki and avocado yakisoba. Their most popular dish is the tomato okonomiyaki, topped with a special sauce made with whole tomatoes. I chose to have the tomato okonomiyaki and a draft beer, both specialties of Kyoto Chabana. The fluffy and delicious okonomiyaki with their original sauce was a real treat. Thank you for the meal.

Fashionable okonomiyaki restaurant. If you prefer texture and new styles of okonomiyaki over the traditional heavy ones, then this place is really great. Even when you're full, every bite until the last is delicious. I hope they open a branch in Fukuoka.

The dishes at Kyo Chabana are consistently delicious. The okonomiyaki with plenty of tomatoes and the crispy lotus root with cheese were particularly tasty. The edamame had a rich flavor that went well with drinks. Even after drinking a lot, the bill for two people was around 8,000 yen. I think this restaurant offers great value for the price.

PINNACLE

A friend came to visit Kyoto and said they wanted to eat something "Kyoto-like," so I took them to Kyoto Chabana. I later found out there are other locations outside of Kyoto as well. The number of staff seemed more than necessary for the size of the restaurant. It was a bit hard to get their attention to place an order, and the food took a while to arrive. The tomato okonomiyaki I had was fluffy and soft, with a lot of cabbage. It had chunks of pork and the acidity of the tomato made it quite addictive.

Located on the south side of Yodobashi Camera in front of Kyoto Station, near the west side of Kyoto Tower Building, this restaurant offers a unique and edgy style of okonomiyaki compared to other okonomiyaki restaurants. With around 8 counter seats and 4 to 5 table seats, the restaurant had a few customers when visited around 9 pm. The kitchen can be seen from the counter seats, so that was chosen for this visit. The restaurant is part of a company that operates multiple branches under the name "Kyochabana," offering two styles: "New Sensation Style" and "Basic Style." The New Sensation Style aims to provide a new taste experience with a unique and exciting flavor, while the Basic Style focuses on traditional and solid flavors. For this visit, the New Sensation Style branch at Kyoto Station was chosen to try their innovative okonomiyaki style. The signature dish, Tomato Okonomiyaki (with overflowing mozzarella cheese), was ordered. This dish features tomatoes from Kumamoto, a thin cabbage topping, eggs, special tomato sauce, and plenty of mozzarella cheese. The combination of tender cabbage, sweet tomato sauce, and gooey cheese created a delicious and unique flavor experience. Additionally, the Avocado Yakisoba (with pork) was ordered, which is made with Japanese soba noodles and served with a vegetable sauce with a hint of mustard. The meal also included a complimentary dish of cabbage rolls mixed with sauce. Overall, the New Sensation Style branch may not be for everyone, but the Tomato Okonomiyaki is highly recommended for those looking for a new and exciting taste experience. The cost for one person including an appetizer, the signature okonomiyaki, the avocado yakisoba, and a highball drink was around 3,210 yen including tax.

I went to the restaurant around 6 pm on Sunday. We were able to enter without a reservation, but the place got full quickly. The seats had a hot plate, so the food stayed warm until we finished eating, which was nice. - Tomato Okonomiyaki with Pork & Cheese This is said to be the specialty of the restaurant, and the okonomiyaki with tomato sauce was a new and delicious experience. However, they forgot to add the cheese. - Regular Pork Okonomiyaki We also ordered the regular pork okonomiyaki, which was simply delicious. - Fluffy Rolled Omelette with Special Egg It was fluffy and delicious, made using a special technique with a spatula on the hot plate. You could tell it was going to be fluffy just by watching them make it! - Fresh Salmon Carpaccio The taste was great, but they forgot the cheese in the tomato okonomiyaki, got our drink order wrong, and the staff seemed a bit off. Also, the food took a while to come out. We almost thought about leaving halfway through. Lol

Taste 2.0: I was drawn to the specialty menu items like the Tomato Okonomiyaki and Avocado Okonomiyaki, but they both had the same base batter with just tomato or avocado on top. The batter also had a lot of cabbage in it, almost like coleslaw, which might be good for those on a diet but not for those looking for a hearty okonomiyaki experience. I also tried the beef tongue, but it was tough. Service 2.5: Mostly foreigners, probably recommended in some guidebook. Location/Interior 3.0: It may have been a former pub.

I randomly walked into this restaurant in the middle of the night. The seats were not cleaned up and I had to wait at the entrance, the service was sloppy, the customer service, taste, and atmosphere were all mediocre, but I guess it's because they are part-time staff. One thing that surprised me was how fast the food came out after ordering. The only thing I liked was that they have a lot of creative dishes like avocado and buckwheat soba stir-fry and tomato-filled okonomiyaki. The tomato-filled okonomiyaki was delicious. I also found dishes like daikon steak and butter soy sauce grilled edamame interesting. Everything is really cheap, so it's worth a try.

I visited a popular okonomiyaki restaurant in Kyoto. I've always wanted to go there but felt hesitant to enter alone. I started with a tomato juice, which was yellow and delicious. The appetizer was cabbage rolls, full of flavor. The edamame was also tasty, seasoned with butter and soy sauce. I ordered the popular tomato okonomiyaki with cheese, which was incredibly delicious. I also tried the avocado okonomiyaki, which was surprisingly filling. I'm not a fan of mustard, so I didn't enjoy the flavor much, but I would definitely go back for the tomato okonomiyaki!

I had known about this place for a while, but I hesitated to go in because the prices were a bit higher than the average for okonomiyaki. However, when I saw that the counter was empty from the outside, I decided to give it a try. And I must say, the satisfaction I got was worth the price. I ordered the tomato okonomiyaki, which seemed to be a popular dish here. It was filled with plenty of cabbage and reminded me of Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. The tomato in the okonomiyaki was surprisingly good, especially with the demi-glace sauce. I also tried the rolled cabbage appetizer with tomato sauce, and it was delicious too. It's been a while since I've been so satisfied with an appetizer. Sitting at the counter, I could watch the food being cooked on the hot plate right in front of me, and everything looked so tasty. I definitely want to come back with friends next time and try more dishes.

It is a teppanyaki restaurant located a short walk from Kyoto Station. They also serve okonomiyaki, but there is a wide variety of teppanyaki dishes and side dishes to enjoy. It seems like they are targeting tourists, probably because they are close to the entrance of Kyoto.

In Kyoto, there is an okonomiyaki restaurant in Higashi Shio-koji-cho. It's a bit far from Kyoto Station, but you can walk there easily, so it's easy to find. The landmark is Tomato☆ However, I was fooled by that... I thought it was a tomato specialty store! I don't mind flour-based dishes, but I don't eat them that often, and tomatoes don't go well with okonomiyaki. So, I just ate a little, had a drink, and left early. There were many unique menu items, so if you're curious, it might be worth visiting once.

The performance of pouring the sauce right in front of you and the aroma at that moment were exquisite. The fluffy tomato-based okonomiyaki was incredibly delicious.
