When the old store was still open, I joined d:macha's tea plantation tour, where we compared different teas and had lunch. This is my first visit to the new store. It's located deeper into the village compared to the previous location, but the architecture is very stylish and lovely. From our seats, we could overlook the tea fields, which was very pleasant. They also grow their own rice, which is used in their curry dishes. The hojicha cake for dessert was delicious, and of course, the sencha tea was soothingly tasty. If it were closer to my home, I would visit more often. Next time, I'm thinking of driving here along with a visit to Shigaraki.

All-in on matcha at "d:matchaKyoto" ☆彡 "d:matcha" is a family-run Uji tea farm in Wazuka-cho, Kyoto, involved in everything from tea cultivation to product planning, manufacturing, and sales. The main store offers tea experience programs and food services. This time, I got caught up in the Shinagawa magic and ended up buying a set of four tiramisu for 2,000 yen (tax included). It's a slightly better deal than buying them individually. The tea leaves used are all home-grown. The matcha tiramisu consists of first flush tea (new tea), matcha cream, matcha syrup, biscuit, and mascarpone cream. The hojicha version uses a deeply roasted tea with hojicha powder, hojicha cream, hojicha syrup, and so on. The mixed berry one includes mixed berry powder, matcha cream, mixed berry sauce, and so on. The "o-nou" tea has a double dose of matcha compared to regular matcha. It's a real matcha lover's dream. The galette & tigre set for 2,750 yen is a collaboration with chocolate sweets artisan YouTuber "Chocolate Cacao". The set includes two matcha galette florentines and one matcha tigre with and without matcha chocolate coating. The galette uses the sweet and rare "Uji Hikari" variety, perfect for matcha. The tigre uses the "Okumidori" variety with a clean and refreshing taste. Both use first flush tea for a luxurious touch. They are made with care and attention to detail. While they are on the pricey side due to the quality ingredients and craftsmanship, they may be a bit too expensive for some. The tiramisu can be shipped frozen, and the baked goods have a good shelf life, making them a great recommendation for matcha lovers. Thank you for the meal!
