Today's lunch was at "Da.uchi Curry" in Arakamiguchi. I've been wanting to try this curry restaurant for a while, and finally had the chance. They offer 4 types of curry, and you can choose up to 3 for a combination. I decided on the "Red Shrimp Cream Curry" and the "Hot Chili Beef Curry" as a combination with a large serving of rice. When you order curry, it comes with a green salad with delicious dressing. The curry arrived. First, I tried the "Hot Chili Beef Curry." It was quite spicy, somewhere between the regular spicy and mild at a certain chain store. The beef was well-cooked and tender. The rice used was long and thin grains, maybe Thai rice? It had a unique fluffy texture. Next, I tried the "Red Shrimp Cream Curry." It had a lot of shrimp, which was nice. Although it's categorized as a Western-style curry, the restaurant described it as "an original spice curry with French essence added." It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Chicken cutlet curry with red wine flavor, lamb back meat roast curry pairing for ¥2300. The chicken cutlet curry had a moist and juicy cutlet with a red wine flavored curry that paired perfectly with the rice. The lamb curry had a slightly spicy aftertaste in the roux, but when eaten with the lamb, it had a good balance with the meat's fat.

After a long time, I went on a trip to Kyoto. For lunch on the first day, I visited a place called [Da.uchi Curry] for the first time. Luckily, I didn't have to wait long to get in. I tried the wagyu neck curry and the red shrimp cream curry. Both were served in a large portion and the wagyu beef was incredibly tender with just the right amount of spice. The combination of the shrimp's flavor and the cream was excellent. The rice was also cooked perfectly. The accompanying vegetables were delicious too!

11:45 Visit to Douchi Curry. I sat at the counter seat and it was full. The customers seemed to be middle-aged. The weather was perfect for Golden Week, almost hot. I ordered the Wagyu neck curry for 1,800 yen and the red shrimp cream curry for 1,500 yen. I found the pricing a bit confusing. 11:52 Salad arrived. It was dressed with French dressing and the portion was just right. 12:04 The curry arrived. The plump shrimp and the mild curry, as well as the tender beef curry, were both very well-balanced in flavor. The spiciness was mild, but they had cayenne pepper on the table for those who wanted to adjust. The side dishes were plentiful and the curry seemed healthy. They are open at night, so I plan to come back on my bike next time. Thank you for the meal. Friday 18:10: I visited on my bike. There were two other customers. I ordered the pork loin European-style cutlet curry for 1,600 yen. 18:15 Salad arrived. The salad before the curry was nice. It had crunchy seeds and almond slices for a fun texture. This cutlet curry cannot be shared, and when I saw it, I understood why. The cutlet curry was served on its own, and the meat was incredibly delicious. It's a bit pricey, but I might come back for it again. There are still many dishes I haven't tried, so I'm torn. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

◎ Jitansho Keema Curry and Red Shrimp Cream Curry Pairing ◎ Caramel Banana Cheesecake ◎ Vietnamese Coffee The Jitansho Keema Curry was incredibly delicious ❤️ The Caramel Banana Cheesecake was also delicious. The Vietnamese Coffee was a bit bitter, maybe? The owner was very friendly and provided great hospitality. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was also great and very cozy. Thank you for the wonderful meal ✨

There were two types of curry available: Spicy Keema Curry with Japanese pepper and Red Shrimp Cream Curry, priced at ¥1500. I arrived 15 minutes before the 11:30 opening time and there was already one group waiting in line. By the time I left, there were several groups waiting outside. The Spicy Keema Curry made with chicken mince was light and refreshing, making it seem endlessly eatable. The Japanese pepper was marinated in white wine vinegar, giving it a perfect balance of acidity and the aroma of Japanese pepper. The Red Shrimp Cream Curry had plenty of shrimp and was creamy and delicious.

I arrived a few minutes after the restaurant opened on a regular day. There were already two groups of customers ahead of me. More customers kept coming in, and it seemed like there were many regulars. I ordered the pork spare rib curry and the swordfish fritter curry with rice on the side. It cost 1700 yen. First, a salad arrived. The dressing on the salad had a nice tangy flavor and was very refreshing and delicious. It went well with the curry. The curry arrived after about 15 minutes. It looked beautiful and got me excited! The rice was long and slender, maybe Thai rice? The curry had a spicy kick to it and was delicious! I can't describe the taste well, but it was really good. The spare ribs were tender and fell off the bone easily. They were well-cooked and tasty! The swordfish fritters were crispy and very delicious. It's rare to have fish in curry, right? The side dishes of potatoes, shishito peppers, and pickles were also incredibly tasty! They paired perfectly with the curry! The service was very polite. They have daily specials, so I want to come back many times. I definitely want to go back.

I had been curious about a curry restaurant for a while. They offer about 5 unique and delicious curries that change depending on the day. This time, I finally visited and tried the white rabbit curry, red shrimp cream curry, and chicken curry. I also added a spiced egg topping. I was worried about the rabbit meat having a gamey taste, but it was just as easy to eat as chicken. The shrimp was large and each piece was substantial, while the chicken was plentiful. Despite the generous portions, the meat was light and each of the 3 curry sauces had a different flavor, keeping it interesting until the end. I wanted to try their homemade cake for dessert, but I'll save that for next time. I had high expectations due to the anticipation of finally visiting, but it exceeded them and I left very satisfied! The three curry dishes with the spiced egg topping cost around 2000 yen.

This was my first visit since the restaurant moved from Horikawa Maruta-cho. Previously, they only served curry during the day. I ordered the Aimori Curry, which has always been delicious. It's still as tasty as before. I was happy to see that they still include a salad with the curry. The owner seemed as lively as ever, which was great to see. Thank you for the meal!

I visited Dauchi Curry and Kyomai Moto's collaboration event in December. I have been a regular at Kyomai Moto for a little over two years. This is my second time attending the collaboration event with Dauchi Curry, where each restaurant is responsible for two out of the four curry dishes served in a pairing style. The ingredients were more luxurious than usual, and the prices were a bit higher, but the restaurant was bustling with customers before, during, and after my visit. They had a clever Christmas touch with yam shaped like a tree. The budget was around 4,000 yen. #Delicious and fun #Dauchi Curry #Kyomai Moto #Kyoto #Kyoto Curry #Kyoto Dinner #Kyoto Gourmet #Kyoto Sightseeing #Kyoto Travel #Gourmet #Foodies #Kyoto Lovers #Foodies #Foodstagram #Gourmetstagram #Kyoto Food Tour #Kyoto Date #Curry #Foodlovers #Foodwalk

Visit date: Mid-August 2022, weekday, around 7:30 pm Number of visitors: 1 person No reservation Spending: Less than 2000 yen Parking: No bicycle parking available Atmosphere: Suitable for 1 person, couples, up to 4 people, and families with children I was lost looking for a dinner spot and decided to visit a curry restaurant that I recently learned about and marked. A friend had been there before and mentioned it was delicious, so I decided to give it a try. Upon entering the restaurant, I was told to choose any seat I liked and I sat at the counter. There was one other customer present during my visit. This time, I ordered a Heineken beer and shrimp curry. The curry was not spicy but had a creamy texture with strong flavors of various spices, making it very delicious. The rice was fluffy, and the onion fry on top added a nice accent when it occasionally entered my mouth. I realized that the menu may vary slightly depending on the day, so I decided to check Instagram before my next visit. As I enjoyed my curry, more customers started coming into the restaurant, indicating its popularity. The restaurant had a counter and about four table seats. It was really delicious, and I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I had a curry set with quail and mushroom curry and gorgonzola chicken curry for 1800 yen. The quail and mushroom curry was an additional 300 yen, but it was worth it as it came with four well-cooked quail legs. It had been years since I last had quail with bones. The chicken was delicious, and the side dishes were varied and tasty. The set also came with a salad, which had small but very hard seeds that made my brain feel more active when I chewed on them (lol). The restaurant is located near the north exit of Jingu Marutamachi Station, just a short walk from the Kamogawa Green Road and crossing the Kamogawa River at Arakawa Bridge to reach Kawaramachi Street. If you take the city bus, it is right by the Arakamiguchi bus stop.

I also had the option of adding chicken, but I chose to have the chicken curry on its own. The presentation is elegant and beautiful. The colors are vibrant and appetizing. The rice is Thai rice. The aroma of the spices hits your nose, but the flavor lingers in your mouth. The meat is tender and the crunch of the pickles is nice. It was a delicious curry.

"Da.uchi Curry," which was operating as a sublease at "Sakamune Nishikawa" in Horikawa Marutamachi, Kyoto (now relocated to Kawaramachi Gojo store), has moved to the former cafe "katte" on the west side of Kamogawa Aragamibashi and opened a physical store. The menu features original curries created by the male owner, who previously worked as a sommelier at a French restaurant, incorporating French elements and spices. The menu includes 3-4 rotating curry options available as individual servings (1100 yen) or a combination of three (1700 yen) with salad included. They also offer a selection of wines (glass 900 yen / red-white wine set 1500 yen), non-alcoholic wines, canned beers, and desserts. On the day of my visit, the daily curry options included three varieties: "Cream Curry with Red Shrimp," "Pork with Vinegar Flavor," and "Japanese Beef Neck Bourguignon Style (+300 yen)" as a combination of three. Starting with the salad served first, each curry had a unique blend of spices with a European-style stewed taste. The Japanese Beef Neck Bourguignon Style was particularly noteworthy for its tender, well-stewed Japanese beef neck. Among the three, the "Cream Curry with Red Shrimp" stood out for its high satisfaction level and harmonious flavors. The spacious interior features a counter and four tables, creating a relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of the former cafe. One striking detail was a painting on the wall depicting a woman pouring milk, replaced with curry instead of milk in the artwork inspired by Vermeer's work "The Milkmaid." As indicated at the beginning of the menu, the restaurant offers original spice curries infused with French essence, characterized by a mild level of spiciness and rich European-style flavors, making it enjoyable for a wide range of curry lovers, from those who prefer less spicy options to traditional curry enthusiasts. The male owner handles the cooking, while a female staff member manages the front of the house, both presenting a pleasant and stylish demeanor. It was a delightful experience, reflecting the depth and quality achieved during their time as a sublease, and I recommend visiting "Da.uchi Curry" at their new physical store in Aragamiguchi for lunch or, on Fridays and Saturdays, for dinner. For the latest updates, please check their social media pages."

I went to this shop when it was operating as a sublet in Horikawa Marutamachi! The curry doesn't have a strong spice flavor, but it's good for when you want to eat delicious curry without a strong spice flavor. I would like to go back again sometime.
