Founded in Paris by the renowned "Magician of Ganache," Robert Linxe, this chocolate specialty shop has been loved by many celebrities since its establishment in 1977. The first store in Japan opened in 1998. The brand is known for its sophisticated and refined ganache, which has an elegant texture and flavor. On this day, I was invited to a meal by a senior colleague with whom I have had a long and important relationship. As usual, I arrived early and decided to bring some stylish pastries as a gift. Looking at the photos, the Bonbon Chocolat is a standout product. These bite-sized chocolates come in various flavors such as sake, whiskey, cognac, fruits, and nuts, with a delicious ganache filling. Next, there are the tablet chocolates, which are priced between 1500 to 2600 yen per piece, making them a luxurious treat. The shop also offers a variety of desserts like eclairs, entremets, madeleines, financiers, cookies, and the 12-piece ganache macarons which I purchased. These macarons, filled with smooth and glossy ganache, are elegantly presented in a luxurious box. I chose to gift them to my senior colleague as a token of appreciation for the invitation. The smooth and shiny macaron shells, paired with the creamy ganache, exude an air of sophistication. I also took home a 4-piece set of macarons for personal enjoyment. The rich ganache filling in flavors like Abyssinian (dark ganache with mascarpone and coffee), Figaro (dark ganache with hazelnut), Venezuela (plain dark ganache with cocoa beans), and Kumquat & Kumquat (dark ganache with kumquat and kumquat puree) is truly unique. The female staff, resembling jewelry store attendants, provided elegant and attentive service. Their demeanor was graceful and composed, and they served coffee with finesse. With only 6 counter seats, the luxurious atmosphere of the shop allowed for a comfortable experience. This particular location is in the Shin-Kokusai Building 1st floor, with a total of 10 stores across Tokyo (7), Yokohama (1), and Osaka (2).
