Today, my family and I visited this restaurant. It was established in the Meiji era in 1897, making it a very long-standing Western-style restaurant. We found the restaurant located along the quiet residential street of Kitayama Street, with a casual atmosphere and various small decorations like Eiffel Tower models scattered around. The interior had a cake corner right at the entrance, a glass-walled kitchen area in the back, and a mix of small and large tables for seating, as well as terrace seating in the courtyard. The staff, consisting of people of all ages, worked efficiently to serve the customers. It was a holiday, so there was a crowd of people waiting for seats both inside and outside the restaurant.
We quickly got a ticket from the waiting list machine, inputting the number of people and seating preferences, and even had the option to receive a notification via phone when our table was ready. After about an hour, we were finally seated. I ordered the "Fillet Beef Cutlet," while my family ordered the famous "Hundred-Year Western-style Hamburger Steak." Both dishes came with a choice of tomato salad, bread, or rice as part of the A lunch set.
First, we were served the tomato salad, which was made with fresh tomatoes from Kumamoto Prefecture. It was refreshing and perfect for the upcoming hot season. Finally, the main dishes arrived. The fillet beef was tender and flavorful, cooked to a rare temperature, and paired well with the demi-glace sauce. The hamburger steak was hearty and served hot in foil, accompanied by delicious baked potatoes.
We enjoyed our meal in a relaxed atmosphere, with customers chatting leisurely around us. The service was good, and the restaurant had wheelchair accessibility and separate washrooms for men and women. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience, and we left feeling full and content.
