I visited after a long time. "Where should we go for lunch today?" "I want to eat Genghis Khan after a long time! Let's go to MenMen today!" We decided. We visited MenMen located at the edge of Sanjo Ohashi. We sat at a table at the back of the 1st floor and placed our order:
- Genghis Khan
- Ankake Soba
- Bean Sprout Stir-Fry
- 2 servings of Gyoza
- Small bowl of rice
- Bottle of Red Star Sapporo Beer
All the dishes arrived quickly on the table... (laughs) Finally, it's time for Genghis Khan. It's more delicious than ever. The unique acidity and richness... The perfect match of lamb and plenty of onions is amazing! When you add chili oil, the flavor becomes even stronger. When we were halfway through, we tried the bean sprout stir-fry... It's also amazing. Don't be fooled, it's highly recommended. The ankake soba also serves as a perfect soup, and the gyoza, needless to say, goes perfectly with beer. Thank you for the meal. (*^-^*)

Today's last event of my trip to Kyoto was dinner at the classic restaurant called MinMin. I ordered the pork belly fried rice, negi chashu, grilled dumplings, and sanratan. The pork belly fried rice had a lettuce fried rice-like texture with a quite sweet soy sauce base. The meat had a good chewy texture for the lean parts and a soft, tender texture for the fatty parts. The flavor of star anise gradually spread in the mouth, which was quite impressive. It was really delicious. The negi chashu had a strong refreshing taste of green onions at first, which was surprising, but once it found a balance with the spiciness and acidity, it became delicious all at once. All in all, thanks to MinMin, I could feel at ease ending my trip to Kyoto.

While strolling around Pontocho, I got a 10% point reduction PayPay coupon for dinner. Amidst many people drinking alcohol, I ordered the C set of sweet and sour pork for 980 yen and a plate of dumplings for 350 yen from the evening set menu. Surprisingly, the dishes arrived quickly. The lightly seasoned sweet and sour pork sauce was distinctive and went well with the rice. The dumplings, touted as the original, were a standard 6-piece serving. I was able to enjoy a cost-effective Chinese meal in this area. Thank you for the meal.

It's always crowded. Sometimes you have to wait in line. It's cheap, delicious, with plenty of options, and everything you order is good. With such good value for money, I have no complaints about this level of deliciousness. I always leave completely satisfied and full. The dumplings are a bit small, easy to eat size and just the right amount, so you can finish one serving in no time.

I went around 7pm on a regular Thursday, but it was full. It seemed like there were a lot of salarymen coming after work. The atmosphere was reminiscent of Taiwan, with lanterns hanging and giving a vibe similar to Jiufen. We had 2 servings of dumplings, shrimp mayo, and fried rice. The total cost was 2240 yen. The portions were generous and I think it was good value for money. The taste was also very delicious. I definitely want to go again.

I used to go there a lot when I was young. If you say Gyoza, it's Nem Nem Yuta. If you say Nem Nem, it's Gyoza. Anyway, I went to the second place, ordered Zaasai, and drank Shochu Highball. Two of us ate 6 servings of Gyoza. Can't stop at the second place. It's gentle, but the strong garlic flavor makes it delicious!! I can eat as many plates as I want.

For breakfast around 9 o'clock, I had a hot dog and was busy, so I ended up having lunch around 3 o'clock. This restaurant has a wide variety of set meals, which is great, but if I have a full lunch set, I won't be able to eat dinner (cries). But right now, I'm super hungry. That's when I found something great! A beer set!! Beer, yakisoba, and gyoza for 1580 yen!! I love the chewy noodles in the yakisoba! I love the juicy gyoza! And on top of that, I love Sapporo Black Label beer! It's perfect!! I feel so happy!! Thank you so much!! 🙇♂️🙇♂️

After a live show at the Roam Theater, I went to this restaurant for dinner and drinks. It's a popular chain in Kansai. The dumplings had a crispy skin and classic flavor. The egg and wood ear mushroom stir-fry had large pieces of onions which were good. The fried meatballs were crispy and delicious. The steamed chicken with green onion sauce had a tasty sauce that went well with beer. The fried rice and draft beer were also very delicious.

Located at the foot of Sanjo Ohashi Bridge, I visited Men Men for lunch craving gyoza. The Men Men Gyoza set comes with two servings of gyoza for 770 yen. Upon hearing "Please head upstairs," I climbed the stairs and was greeted with a view of the Kamogawa River and the greenery of Higashiyama through a red lattice window. The gyoza, which contains 17 types of ingredients such as pork and mutton, was consistently delicious. I dipped it in a mixture of vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil. The rice was generously portioned, making it just the right amount for enjoying the perfect combination of gyoza and rice. The soup had a good balance of saltiness, leaving me in a good mood as I strolled through the streets of Kyoto. ・Men Men Gyoza Set 770 yen

I used it for a company drinking party. All-you-can-drink and course meal with unlimited gyoza. I'm not good with alcohol, so I focused on the food. The taste was authentic Chinese, but the ingredients were easy to eat and delicious! Especially the gyoza, being the main dish, I couldn't get tired of eating them no matter how much I had!

I revisited for dinner again. The quality is always top-notch, just like the authentic taste! My favorite is the vinegar pork dish. Normally, pork tempura has a small amount, but here, it's the most generous portion I've seen, with a lot more meat than vegetables, which is really surprising. The fried rice is also exceptional, with a simple yet delicious taste that really showcases the skill of the chef. This place is truly amazing, offering fast, affordable, and tasty food. It's in a league of its own compared to other Chinese restaurants. The attached photo is from a lunch visit.

Around 4 o'clock on a holiday afternoon... I wasn't in the mood for tea, but I felt like having a little drink, so I ended up at Nem Nem. I had never been here at this time before, but surprisingly, there were quite a few people having meals. I was tempted by the beer set, but I wasn't really hungry, so I ordered some grilled dumplings and a small plate of Genghis Khan (grilled lamb), along with a small glass of beer. It was nice to have the option of a small glass of beer. The Genghis Khan tasted a bit sour in the sauce, or maybe it was just me... The dumplings were reliably delicious, but I wish they had been cooked a bit more. I sat on the first floor, and I couldn't help but feel the gaze of the waitress, but enjoying a beer while watching people passing by the sunny window was quite enjoyable.

Gyoza is a favorite dish of mine. Recently, I've found that I don't really like the gyoza from the popular chain restaurant, but I can eat as many of Nemin's gyoza as I want. Pairing gyoza with a cold beer, steamed chicken, and mapo eggplant is the best combination. I like to mix gyoza sauce with soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil to my taste. The vinegar adds a refreshing touch, the steamed chicken has a gentle texture with a nice acidity, and the mapo eggplant has just the right amount of spiciness. With a spoon for the sauce, you can enjoy the dish until the last bite.

Yesterday, I went to Gion Kagetsu with a friend couple for the first time. The show started at 3pm and we laughed for 2 hours. We were planning to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant, but it was still closed, so we had to look for another place. Since we were in the mood for Chinese food, my friend suggested we try Hinomine for the first time. We were seated on the second floor, and the restaurant was a bit small. Despite being full, the food came quickly after we ordered. We started with beer and dumplings. Normally, I often go to Osho, but the dishes at Hinomine were not as heavy as Osho's, and everything was easy to eat. The dumplings were so good that we could have eaten many more. We ordered pan-fried dumplings, Tianjin rice, stir-fried bean sprouts with liver, mapo tofu, stir-fried pork with black vinegar, and hot and sour soup. Everything was delicious, and I definitely want to go back to this restaurant again.

A shop near Sanjo Ohashi bridge, right in front of the Kamo River. The food is cheap, delicious, and easy to eat. Today's menu included chicken simmered noodles, gyoza, and fried chicken. The taste is familiar yet satisfying, making it a go-to place for late-night Chinese food cravings. Thank you for the meal.

"Mimim" is a Chinese restaurant mainly located in the Kansai region. I originally had plans to have dinner at a different restaurant, but when I arrived, they were just about to close for the night. The next place I went to unexpectedly had a temporary closure, so I ended up at my third choice. Sitting at the counter, I could see the chefs cooking live, and their efficient work made it feel like a non-chain restaurant. The menu had so many options, but since I was quite hungry, I went with a safe choice of "black fried rice" and "fried chicken." The restaurant wasn't too crowded, so I didn't mind watching the orders being prepared, including the one before mine. The black fried rice had a special sauce that gave it its color during cooking, and it had a deliciously crispy taste with just the right amount of rice firmness. The fried chicken was hot and fresh, a truly authentic dish. It paired perfectly with the fried rice. Whenever I go to a Chinese restaurant, I usually order fried rice and fried chicken, but with so many tempting dishes on the menu, I'd love to try more next time."

Located in a prime spot along the Kamogawa River. Right by the riverside promenade, it's a lovely area. With over 60 years in operation, this Chinese restaurant originated in Osaka. They use Japanese rice and locally sourced vegetables, ensuring a sense of security. While their dumplings are famous, I ended up choosing the fried rice for 750 yen, and my friend chose the tantanmen for 750 yen. We also ordered the chicken karaage. The fried rice is subtly flavored and elegant. The karaage is surprisingly large and piping hot, so be careful not to burn yourself. There are various other enticing menu items, and I wanted to try the Qingjiao Rousi as well. Despite being a tourist spot in Kyoto, the cost performance is great. They are open all day and never close. There was even a solo female diner at the counter, showing that the locals and tourists alike love this place. It was delicious.

In the menu photos, the dish looked beautifully piled up like a mountain, but when it arrived, it was not as extravagant as expected. The presentation was a bit sloppy. It had boiled shrimp on top, surrounded by cabbage, cucumber, char siu, steamed chicken, shredded egg, and a slice of tomato. Mustard was also provided on the side. The noodles were delicious, and the flavor was a gentle acidity that I enjoyed. It was tasty!

Located about a 2-minute walk from Exit 6 of Sanjo Station on the Keihan Main Line, is the Chinese restaurant "Minmin Sanjo Ohashi Store". Minmin, a long-established dumpling shop, opened its main store in Osaka's Sennichimae in 1953 and now operates 20 directly managed stores in Kansai and Kanto. It has been over half a century! This time, while taking a walk along the Kamo River from the Kawaramachi side to Sanjo, I decided to visit the restaurant. I started with the classic pan-fried dumplings and also tried the boiled dumplings. The dumplings were nicely browned and delicious, living up to their reputation as a dumpling specialty store. The boiled dumplings were also tasty, especially the broth which I wanted to have more of. I also ordered steamed chicken and jellyfish as snacks to go with my drinks. They also offer all-you-can-eat and drink plans, which are quite a good deal!

For lunch today, I went to the NINNIJIN Sanjo Ohashi store. I have always preferred NINNIJIN over Osho. I love the softness of NINNIJIN's gyoza skin. The Tianjin rice with fluffy egg and salty sauce is also very delicious. Today, I had the five-ingredient fried rice, but I usually have the black fried rice, which is also excellent. Every dish has a very well-balanced seasoning. Thank you for the meal.

A few minutes' walk from Sanjo Station. I stopped by here today. The interior of the restaurant has counter seats and table seats. There are also seats on the second floor, so the capacity is decent. The menu mainly consists of Chinese cuisine, including dumplings. I ordered a draft beer, dumplings, a side dish of fried chicken, and mixed fried rice. Let's dig in! First, the beer arrives, and it's quite delicious for a Chinese restaurant. The temperature and fine bubbles are good. The dumplings are a bit moist and not as crispy as I would have liked, which is a bit disappointing. The fried rice has a bit more oil, but personally, I really like the flavor. I would have liked to have a large portion of it. So, thank you for the meal! The prices are a bit on the higher side overall, but the fried rice was delicious, so I give it a thumbs up.

I underestimated the chain restaurant at the tourist spot, but they served incredibly delicious dishes. I ordered pork belly fried rice and vegetable beef stir-fry. The fried rice portion was generous, with large cuts of pork providing a satisfying meal. The beef stir-fry was well seasoned and the vegetables were crunchy, making it enjoyable to eat.
