I received a "Kuromatsu" from "Kuromatsu Honpo Kusatsuki" in Higashi-Jujo shopping street. It's a popular dorayaki, and personally one of my favorites. This is the second time this year. The packaging of "Kuromatsu" is still cute, with an orange bag featuring a white pine tree drawing. When you open the bag with a ribbon, you'll find 6 pieces of "Kuromatsu" inside. The dorayaki has a beautiful shape, and the bag with "Kuromatsu" written on it is nice too. I'll have a bite now. The dorayaki has a soft and fluffy texture, with the sweetness of black sugar infused into the dough. The red bean paste is also infused with black sugar, providing a soft and sweet flavor. The fluffy texture and the sweetness of the syrup make "Kuromatsu" unique and popular. Although "Kuromatsu" doesn't use artificial coloring or preservatives, it can last 3-5 days in winter, so I plan to savor it slowly. Thank you for always thinking of me. I enjoyed it very much this time too.

Let's get excited! Today, we visited Kuro Matsumoto Honpo Kusuki, a famous dorayaki shop in Higashi-Jujo. It's a well-known traditional Japanese sweets shop where you can find a delicious dorayaki called Kuro Matsus. They use carefully selected high-quality ingredients to make it. The price is very reasonable, making it an easily accessible treat. The dorayaki comes in a compact package with a beautiful flower-patterned white paper bag. The sweetness is subtle, with a hint of brown sugar and honey flavor. The texture is soft and chewy, and the red bean filling is elegant. It's truly a wonderful dorayaki! Kuro Matsus always deliver a unique and delicious taste that sets them apart from other dorayaki. I always feel satisfied after eating them. Just be careful not to eat too many at once, as they are so light and easy to devour! They make a great tea snack for guests, so if you have the chance, be sure to try them out. It was really delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I came to Kusuki, located a 3-minute walk from Higashi-Jujo Station. Since wagashi (Japanese sweets) have become popular recently, I've noticed an increase in posts about wagashi, and I've also been visiting wagashi shops more often. When I arrived, I saw many customers and employees working on the first floor of the building. They had various products like manju (sweet buns) and dorayaki (red bean pancakes). There were also many awards from the Showa era displayed. It's a long-established shop. I purchased a yuzu (citrus) manju. It had a refreshing yuzu scent and tasted delicious. The number of staff and the atmosphere inside the shop gave off a strong Showa era vibe. It was a pleasant experience!

I found this traditional Japanese sweets shop while playing with my phone on the Keihin-Tohoku Line for a 10-minute errand. I continued on without transferring at Akabane and arrived at Higashi-Jujo Station. It's a well-established shop near the station called "Kusuge" where I tried one of Tokyo's top three dorayaki, the "Kuromatsu." I saw a sign at the entrance saying "Kuromatsu available!" It was just past 1 pm and I made it in time. Inside the shop, it was packed with elderly customers mainly looking for gifts. I waited about 5 minutes at the front of the line to place my order. I ordered 4 Kuromatsu dorayaki for my family. When I got home and tried them, the skin was moist with a hint of black honey aroma and flavor, and the filling had a solid black bean paste that I like. It had been a while since I had dorayaki, but it was really delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went around 5:30 pm, half an hour before the store closed at 6 pm, and was able to purchase without having to wait in line. I bought a famous dorayaki for 162 yen. You can choose to have it boxed for gifts, with options of 6, 8, 10, or 12 pieces. The cake part is fluffy, with a sweet taste of brown sugar and honey. The red bean paste has a refined sweetness. I now understand why it's considered one of the top three dorayaki in Tokyo.

Located near Higashi-Jujo Station, this long-standing traditional Japanese sweets shop has been in business since 1930. Their signature item, the dorayaki called "Kuromatsu," is considered one of Tokyo's top three dorayaki along with Usagiya in Ueno and Kameju in Asakusa. Kuromatsu is made with black sugar and honey, and its fluffy skin features a tiger-stripe pattern. Priced at ¥162 per piece, it offers great value for money. The shop is just a 2-minute walk from Higashi-Jujo Station and is open from 10:00 to 18:00, closed on Tuesdays. I visited on a weekend afternoon and was able to make a purchase in about 3 minutes. Today, I ordered the Kuromatsu (¥162) and the Tomu Kaki (¥270). The most popular item at this shop is the Kuromatsu dorayaki made with black sugar and honey. The spotted-pattern sandwich with a smooth texture red bean paste is exquisite. The sweetness of the red bean paste is just right, not too sweet nor too weak. The Tomu Kaki looks like a persimmon, but it's a sweet treat that combines the flavors of mochi and persimmon. While enjoying the sticky persimmon flavor, the white bean paste adds a nice touch. Despite being part of the "Tokyo top three dorayaki," these treats are priced under ¥200, making them a great value for money.

Kuromatsu: 162 yen. It's been a while since I had Kuromatsu. I recently found out that it is one of the top three dorayaki in Tokyo. Knowing that, I decided to taste it a bit more seriously. The dough has a flavor of black honey and is soft and fluffy. I prefer the red bean paste to be a bit less sweet, but... the balance between the dough and the red bean paste is just perfect. It's the real deliciousness of a confectionery craftsman!

I always visit this place for gifts, but sometimes just for myself (lol). The dorayaki here at Kuromatsu is the most delicious and has the best cost performance. Even people who don't like sweet bean paste will eat this one (lol). Sometimes they also have rice cakes, steamed chestnut cakes, and fruit jelly, but it's not regular and the quantities are limited. (I don't mind because I come here for the Kuromatsu dorayaki).

I received a gift of Kuro-matsu as a snack. It was my first time trying it, and the fluffy outer dough was incredibly delicious. The filling inside was not too heavy, and it paired perfectly with the outer dough. Even though I'm not a big fan of red bean paste, I enjoyed it a lot.

This is my first visit. I was able to buy without waiting in line. The "Kuromatsu" dorayaki costs 162 yen each including tax. The skin has the aroma of black sugar and the sweetness of honey. It has a fluffy texture and doesn't feel heavy. I could fully taste the sweetness of the red bean paste filling. Dorayaki often feels heavy, but Kuromatsu is light and flavorful, making you want to eat another one even after finishing one.

I tried to line up first thing in the morning, but there were already more than 10 people in line, so I didn't get inside the store until over 30 minutes later. The dorayaki (black pine) was very delicious. The richness of the black honey was something else. It may not surpass Usagiya, but I feel like it's better than lining up at Kameju.

I had some business to attend to in Akabane, so I decided to visit the popular Kuzutsuki shop that I had been wanting to go to for a while. I arrived around 9:40 am on a weekday, as there were conflicting information online about whether the shop opens at 9 am or 10 am. It turned out that the shop opens at 10 am, and I had to wait a bit as I was about 10th in line. The shop opened promptly at 10 am, and although there were many staff members, the service was relatively slow and meticulous, so I ended up waiting for about 30 minutes before leaving the shop. It would be helpful if they could prepare in advance the popular items like the 10-piece and 5-piece sets to speed up the line. As soon as I left the shop, I tried one of the dorayaki, and it was delicious with a hint of black sugar and a fluffy texture. It was definitely worth waiting in the heat. Although I find it tough to wait in line again, I would be very happy to have another opportunity to enjoy their dorayaki.

The price is very reasonable and the quality is so good that I wonder if it's really true. The dough has a nice baked texture and looks interesting. I'm not a big fan of brown sugar, but this was very delicious. It's not sold as "dorayaki," but as a product called "Kuromatsu." This attention to detail truly lives up to the reputation of the top three.

I'm looking for gourmet takeout options to boost my motivation for jogging. Jogging distance to destination: 6km Visit time: 3pm Number of people in line: 0 Waiting time: 0 I visited to buy Kuro-Matsu, a recent favorite of mine, to meet up with a close friend. As a walking reward for myself, I got Lemon Awanyuki. The fluffy bottom layer and refreshing lemon on top had an elegant sweetness. It was delicious!

After visiting ten different festivals, I checked Google Maps near Higashi-Jujo and saw that the waiting time at Kuromatsu Honpo Kusatsuki was shorter than usual. I decided to go there. As Google indicated, there was no line outside, only inside the store. I bought 5 pieces of their famous dorayaki "Kuromatsu" for 162 yen each without a box. It took about 5 minutes to wait in line inside the store to pay. The Kuromatsu dorayaki has a shelf life of 3 to 5 days depending on the season. When I got home and tried it, I found it to be noticeably smaller than regular dorayaki, with a rich and robust taste due to the addition of black honey. The dough is soft and not too moist. It was delicious! The size, price, and quality make it a popular choice for gifts. I will definitely buy it again when I'm in the area. Thank you for the meal.

Tokyo's top three dorayaki. This dorayaki is made with black sugar and honey, priced at 150 yen each. It has a tiger pattern and a chewy texture. Compared to the other top three dorayaki, it is smaller in size and has less filling. It's like the skin of Kameju's Matsukaze. Kusuki balances the overall sweetness with black sugar and honey. Kameju's dorayaki is delicious, but it's too big and expensive. I thought it would be the best if they combined Kameju's Matsukaze and Kusuki and divided it by two!

On June 26, 2023, at 11:28 AM, I visited Kuro Matsumoto Sogetsu in Asakusa, one of Tokyo's three famous dorayaki shops, along with Kameju and Usagiya in Ueno. Despite having just eaten at a Jiro-inspired ramen shop called Honten in Higashi-Jujo, I couldn't resist getting a dorayaki for dessert. The dorayaki costs ¥162 per piece and can last for 3 days, but it's best enjoyed on the day of purchase when the texture is soft and the sweet bean paste has an elegant flavor. It was delicious and satisfying. Thank you for the meal. The restaurant has a Foodie rating of 3.78 based on 1155 reviews as of June 2023.

I am looking for gourmet takeout options to boost my motivation for jogging. Jogging distance to destination: 6.5km Visit time: 11:10 AM Number of people in line: 10 Waiting time: 10 minutes Bought Kuro-Matsu. Also decided to try soy sauce flavored dango, which looked delicious. Kuro-Matsu was as delicious as always. The dango was chewy as expected. The sweet and salty sauce complemented the dango well. Thank you for the meal!

I made a phone reservation around 12 o'clock on a regular day and then went. It was a bit difficult to get through on the phone at first, but the staff was very polite. When I arrived at the store, there were about six people inside and 5-6 people waiting outside. People of all ages and genders were in line. It seemed like it would take a long time to wait in line to buy, so I recommend making a reservation! The dorayaki was delicious, even for those who don't like red bean paste. As a big fan of dorayaki, I was impressed by how delicious it was and I want to go back again. I felt happy eating delicious dorayaki and cold tea on a hot day. ☺️

It's a 1-2 minute walk from Higashi-Jujo Station. I visited around 1 pm on a weekday. It's a popular place, so there were a few groups waiting in line, and I waited for about 10 minutes. The dorayaki wrapped in black sugar and honey dough is very delicious. It also lasts for a few days, so it's convenient for souvenirs.
