Suddenly, I noticed that the plum trees in the garden were starting to bloom, emitting a sweet fragrance. Unlike the previous years when they bloomed before the New Year, this winter seems to be colder, causing the blossoming to be delayed by over a month. As I sensed a hint of spring in the air, I decided to venture out alone in Kyoto. I first tried to visit a restaurant in the northern part of the city, but it turned out to be closed. Unable to search on my phone while driving, I ended up at Aeon Mall Kyoto Gojo to find a new place to eat. I remembered a restaurant that caught my interest, so I headed to Kawabata Shichijo. The restaurant opened on January 11, 2019, and was located near the intersection of Kawabata Shichijo, just north of Shichijo Street. I ordered the Shio Shirayu Ramen and added a side of small rice. The soup was cooked in a small pot, different from the restaurant that my friend had recommended. The taste was unique, with a strong saltiness but still rich in chicken flavor. The noodles were thin and straight, made by a noodle shop called "Igawada Goto Seimen." Instead of green onions, the restaurant used white leeks, giving the ramen a different flavor profile. Overall, the ramen was different from the recommended restaurant but still delicious in its own way. The restaurant was called "Ramen Bonpo," not "Ramen Bonpo," and had been in business for two years with three locations in Kyoto. After posting a brief review on social media, my friend who had recommended the restaurant commented that the spicy fried chicken here was the "signature dish."

Chicken and pork bone ramen ¥750 Flavored egg ¥100 Mini fried chicken ¥550 Beer (medium bottle) ¥550 I visited Ramen no Bo Ho for the first time in a while while visiting the Kyoto National Museum. There were two groups of customers before me and three groups that came in after, all of them foreigners. I wonder if this place got featured in some famous guidebook? The taste was just as delicious as before, nothing special. Thank you for the meal! #Ramen no Bo Ho #Kansai gourmet #Kyoto gourmet #Shichijo gourmet #Kansai ramen #Kyoto ramen #Shichijo ramen #ramen #Want to connect with ramen lovers.

The name of the restaurant is "Boubo." The noodles are reminiscent of Hakata tonkotsu ramen with thin noodles. You can get an extra serving for 100 yen. Since the end of the pandemic, the restaurant is always full of inbound foreign tourists. The taste is not particularly unique or eye-catching, but consistently delicious. After finishing the soup without leaving any, I felt like having another bowl.

I ordered "Tori Tonkotsu Ramen". This restaurant is very popular, with a long line of people waiting outside. The flavor is delicious, rich, and slightly salty. It is easy to eat. The restaurant is also popular by word of mouth.

It was past lunchtime, so there were no other customers in the restaurant when I visited. The shop has glass windows, and during busy times, I would see several staff members, but when I went, there was only one. I was disappointed by the lackluster way they greeted me, making me feel like I shouldn't have come. The service improved slightly when the ramen was served and when I left the shop, but overall, I wished they had put more effort into serving even just one customer. The ramen was delicious; I ordered the chicken and pork bone ramen, which had thin noodles and a light yet flavorful broth that I drank up about 80% of. The chashu was very thin. I was curious about the menu and the spicy nin-nin ramen, but there was no explanation anywhere, and I didn't feel like asking the staff, so I gave up. I assume it's spicy and garlicky. By the way, there was spicy miso and garlic on the table. Thank you for the meal.

Visited around 11 am on Saturday. There were no other customers at this slightly early hour. Ordered the salt broth ramen and half-size fried chicken set. The ramen soup had a gentle flavor with a hint of chicken umami. Even though I didn't add any extra toppings, I was pleased to find plenty of green onions and about 4 thin slices of char siu in the ¥800 ramen. The ramen was light in taste, while the 4 pieces of fried chicken in the half set, especially when dipped in mayonnaise, made the rice disappear quickly. It felt like I was having both the fried chicken set and the ramen as a soup. Despite the scorching heat that day, the hot ramen made me sweat a lot in the slightly warm restaurant. There are no other ramen shops around Nijo Station, so it's understandable why this place is popular with its decent taste. I'm curious about the Spicy Nin Ramen, so I'd like to try that next time.

This is the only ramen shop I keep going back to! They offer student discounts and a manageable size of rice bowl, but the ramen here is just too delicious! It's so refreshing that one bowl is never enough, I always end up ordering more. It's light yet unforgettable in its deliciousness.

For those with a bit of high blood pressure, the salt content is on the higher side, but during the hot summer months, it might be good for replenishing salt. The taste is delicious! Both the soup and noodles are top-notch. I almost drank all the soup, it's that good. There's a lot of chashu too, so it's always chashu noodles for me! So happy.

I like the chicken broth ramen here. It's a good value for when I'm hungry and can't make it home. It's conveniently located near Keihan Shichijo Station, so it's a good place to stop while waiting for a train and have some fried chicken and beer. There are many foreign visitors here, and I think anyone would find the ramen delicious! Oh, the chicken and pork bone ramen is also delicious.

Salt shio ramen ¥750, flavored egg ¥100, beer (medium bottle) ¥550. Stopped by while visiting Kyoto National Museum. The saltiness was a bit strong as usual, but the taste was above average. Perfect for a quick stop after visiting the museum. Thank you for the meal #RamenBo #KansaiFood #KyotoFood #ShichijoFood #KansaiRamen #KyotoRamen #ShichijoRamen #Ramen #Foodies #FoodiesConnect

Today, I came here to this ramen shop. There are about three branches including this one, which had quite a line outside when I passed by in my car before. The restaurant has a TV playing and a casual atmosphere, with a kitchen in the back, an L-shaped counter with 7 seats, and two 4-person table seats at the front. It is run by two young men. The menu offers three types of ramen: "Chicken Pork Bone, Salt Shirodashi, Spicy" along with specialty dishes like fried chicken and rice set meals. I ordered the "Chicken Pork Bone Ramen" and it arrived after a short wait. Served in a small, personalized bowl, the soup with plenty of floating back fat resembled light snow, with a clear and mildly salty taste possibly from white soy sauce used in the seasoning. The thin straight noodles had a good texture that paired well with the soup. The toppings included thinly sliced pink and tender rare chashu and fresh white negi. I finished it quickly and found it to be a gentle and satisfying bowl, perfect for a late-night snack. Adding the garlic provided on the table would surely enhance the flavor. The service was good. Overall, a pleasant dining experience. Accessibility: Wheelchair-friendly, washlet available in the back on the left side, no parking available.

At night, I decided to eat my favorite ramen since there was no dinner. I searched around Kyoto Station but ended up going to Shichijo because I really wanted to eat at Bokko. I thought about trying something new today, but ended up ordering my usual ramen. Of course, with rice too. The richness was just right. Eating rice with chashu was the best. It disappeared in an instant... I want another bowl but it's embarrassing, so I'll refrain. I'll probably go again soon. I'm worried that my arteries will get clogged... Scary...

I visited around 11 o'clock. There was only about one customer. I ordered the chicken and pork bone ramen. It took a little while. The soup was clear and the noodles were thin. The cherry blossom-colored chashu had a wonderful taste. The soup was not a clear broth, but a combination of chicken and pork bone broth. The thin noodles are easy to stretch. Also, the portion was a bit small, so it might be better to add 200 yen for extra chashu and noodles.

I have been here several times and no matter when I eat, it's always delicious! The chashu is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and both the noodles and soup are incredibly tasty. On this day, my friend and I enjoyed the chashu ramen and regular ramen, and we were both completely satisfied. The location is not in a heavily crowded area, but it's a popular spot so it tends to be full. I will definitely visit again.

There was a ramen shop on 7th street that I had been curious about. I tried their Salt Shio Ramen for ¥750, with a large portion (1.5 times) for an extra ¥100, and a mini portion of fried chicken for ¥200. The Salt Shio Ramen had a nice pepper flavor and was quite delicious. Personally, I really liked the taste. The fried chicken, which they claim is their specialty, was crispy and delicious. I would like to try their Chicken and Pork Bone Ramen next time.

Today's closing dish. It has a light taste even though it contains pork fat. A perfect dish to end the meal. The noodles are thin and slide down smoothly. I also ordered the fried chicken, which was outstanding. It was crispy and flavorful, with a strong seasoning. Be careful not to hurt your mouth, but I couldn't resist taking big bites. It was irresistible.

I had some errands to run in Shichijo, Kyoto. For lunch, I went to a ramen shop right next to the Keihan Electric Railway Shichijo Station. I ordered the Shio Shirayu Ramen with Chashu Men for 750 yen plus an additional 200 yen for the chashu topping. The chashu topping was nicely arranged on top of the bowl, with a rare chashu covering it. The soup was a peppery salt broth with straight thin noodles. The toppings were simple, with only white onions, but I enjoyed peeling off the chashu little by little as I ate, which kept the dish interesting. The saltiness was milder than I expected, but the spiciness from the pepper gradually built up towards the end, so adding more pepper as a finishing touch might be a good idea. It seems like you can customize the firmness of the noodles and the amount of white onions, so I would like to try adding more onions next time.

I went with a friend and we each ordered the salt white soup and chicken pork bone ramen. The fried chicken comes in regular (6 pieces), half (4 pieces for some reason), and mini (2 pieces). We randomly stopped by, but it turned out to be a great place with consistently delicious flavors. Definitely a must-visit for locals. They accept PayPay for payment.

Chicken and pork bone ramen for ¥750, with an extra flavored egg for ¥100. Visited on a Sunday at 2:30 pm and there were 7 people waiting in line. It had turned into a popular spot since my last visit a year ago! However, the turnover was quick and we were able to get in after about 10 minutes. I ordered the chicken and pork bone ramen. The smooth and chewy noodles paired well with the flavorful soup made from chicken, pork bone, and lard. The only downside was that the soup was a bit salty, so when the lard decreased, it became too salty without enough sweetness. Overall, not outstanding but delicious, affordable, conveniently located near the station, with long opening hours and the option to pay with PayPay. I will continue to visit this place in the future. In front of Nanaojijo Station in Kyoto, "Ramen no Bonbo" offers chicken and pork bone ramen for 750 yen. The restaurant is small but also offers lunch. It tends to be full during lunchtime. The ramen has a light chicken broth with a hint of pork fat floating on top. The broth is delicious enough to finish completely, and it is popular among women along with the chicken white broth ramen.
