~2023 Kyoto Travel⑨~ 2023/9/XX (Dinner) Yesterday, I became a dinner refugee, so today I will have an early dinner. Since I'm not very hungry, it will be a very light dinner. My wife and I shared the following: (Food) - Five-ingredient fried rice (regular) @700 yen (tax included) - Special dumplings (4 pieces) @550 yen (Drink) - Jasmine tea @390 yen - Lemon sour @390 yen The five-ingredient fried rice had plump shrimp and diced char siu mixed in. It wasn't too greasy and had a gentle flavor. The special dumplings had a fluffy texture, were juicy with plenty of meaty flavor, and were very delicious. We only ordered two dishes, but the Chinese food was tasty. This restaurant seems to be affiliated with a famous Chinese restaurant in Kyoto. I didn't try their signature dish, "Wei rice dumplings," so I would like to visit again if I have the chance. The staff's service was warm and very polite. Although we were able to walk in this time, I think it's better to make a reservation if possible. Credit cards are accepted for payment. Thank you for the meal.

Popular Chinese restaurant affiliated with Ichinofune. We ordered Wei rice dumplings for 600 yen, shrimp and tomato scrambled eggs for 900 yen, drooling chicken for 700 yen, and Taiwanese-style soy sauce braised pork feet for 1000 yen. Each dish is quite generous in portion, so it's recommended to go with multiple people and share. The soy sauce braised pork feet wasn't to my liking, but the other dishes were delicious.

The cost performance is good. I had the tantanmen lunch set, which included tantanmen, egg fried rice, shumai, karaage, and dessert for only 1000 yen including tax, which is cheap. However, the tantanmen was too sweet for me. The egg fried rice was refreshing. The shumai was delicious. I wanted to try the gyoza, but the lunch set was filling and I'm glad I didn't order it.

I heard that the dumplings are very delicious, so I went there. On a hot summer day when energy levels are low, dumplings are the best for stamina. The dumplings were great with a lot of pork filling and a chewy skin. The restaurant is in Sanjo Shopping Street and is part of the same group as "Gaihan Izudo".

Popular Chinese restaurant "Ichinofuneiri" from the list of top 100 restaurants! The lunch where you can try a little bit of everything is great. The seats are spacious and suitable for dining with a large group. The service is also very good. On a holiday around 1:30 pm, there were only a few groups on the first floor, so we were able to enter smoothly. [What I ate] Wei Rice Dumplings Lunch ¥1000 You can choose between garlic and ginger for the dumplings. I chose ginger. The taste is quite addictive. The dumplings are not crispy, but have a soft texture, which is not my preference, but the spicy ginger flavor makes up for it. Delicious. I honestly felt that the other side dishes were neither good nor bad, but I was happy to be able to try a little bit of everything. The staff were also friendly, and they accept credit cards even at lunchtime. It's a convenient restaurant. Thank you for the meal!

It was delicious!! I made a reservation and arrived before the opening. The person who seemed to be the manager at the counter greeted us with a refreshing "Hello, sorry to keep you waiting", which was really nice. The fatigue from waiting outside on a hot day disappeared instantly. Both the drinks and dishes were prepared quickly and brought to us promptly. The staff seemed to have a good grasp of the customers' movements and the timing of serving dishes, creating a hospitable atmosphere. The food was delicious, but what really stood out was how wonderful the staff were at this restaurant.

Every time I go for lunch, it's the best! The gyoza, shumai, sesame balls, almond jelly - everything is delicious, and the customer service is fantastic. The staff is friendly and you can pay and leave feeling satisfied. The lunch sets are also perfect! Oh, I hope the truffle gyoza makes a comeback.

I visited for lunch. There are 4 lunch menu options, including tantanmen set. There is also a gyoza set, but gyoza can be ordered separately. The cost performance is amazing. With salad, dessert, fried rice, shumai, and karaage, it's only ¥1,000. I was really full. The manager's customer service was also great.

Finally made it to the gyoza specialty restaurant by the famous Wei Fan Yi Tang, known for their popular xiaolongbao. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and the service was good. I opted for the weekly lunch set B, which included the main dish of five-ingredient stir-fry noodles in a thick sauce, along with other side dishes. The salad was just okay, but I really enjoyed the dressing. I also ordered the truffle gyoza separately, which came with 4 pieces for 850 yen. It was a bit pricey, but the gyoza itself was delicious.

Draft beer for 490 yen, Wei rice dumplings for 600 yen, spring rolls for 480 yen, and soup noodles for 590 yen. The total was 2160 yen (including tax). The interior of the restaurant was stylish, and the taste at this price was pleasing. The dishes were delicate and carefully prepared. They were very delicious! The staff, including the cute smiling waitress and the polite waiter, made our experience enjoyable. Thank you very much.

Lunch set (with garlic gyoza): The gyoza were meticulously crafted, with each piece on the plate feeling carefully prepared. The soup had finely chopped shrimp and a strong seafood broth. The black pepper added a nice kick. The salad, especially the dressing, was delicious. It had Caesar dressing with crushed almonds, giving a perfect balance of nutty fragrance and sweetness. Normally, I find the rice in set meals disappointing, but the rice here had the perfect sweetness and texture that I like. At first, I thought there was a lot of rice, but before I knew it, I was down to the last bite. At exactly 1,000 yen, I think this set is quite a bargain.

Today's lunch was at "Gaihan Gyoza" in Sakaimachi Sanjo. We arrived around 1 pm and were seated right away. By the time we left, the restaurant was full and there were people waiting, so we timed it well. My wife had the Gaihan Gyoza lunch and I had the Tantanmen lunch, both priced at ¥1000 each. The Gyoza in the lunch set were slightly larger but had a light and fluffy texture with a strong sweetness to them - very delicious. The side dish of Mapo Eggplant had a refined flavor. As for the Tantanmen lunch, it came with Karaage, Shumai, fried rice, and all my favorite items. Being the chef's restaurant, everything was delicious. The Tantanmen had a strong sweetness to it, but it was from the natural sweetness of the ingredients, allowing me to enjoy the soup until the end. The restaurant was featured on a local TV show as a popular and affordable lunch spot for women, and I can see why with its elegant and sweet flavors. Throughout our meal, there were many solo female diners as well. We will definitely be back to try other menu items! Check out more food reviews on our blog "Kyoto Lunch and Delicious Food."

I found a restaurant where I could use my Tabelog points for lunch near Karasuma Oike. Despite passing by many times, I didn't know there was such a delicious place. It was lunchtime and the first floor was almost full with customers. There were three lunch menu options, all of which looked delicious, but I chose the gyoza lunch. You could choose between garlic and ginger, and the ginger flavor was strong and tasty! I will definitely visit again with my colleagues!

Personal impression... Came with a family from a rural area... The exterior of the building is really nice, but the taste of the food is a bit disappointing... The portion size is small for the price, making it expensive at ¥(high)... It was disappointing to hear that this is a well-known Chinese restaurant chain featured on TV and have high expectations, but the experience fell short... The staff's service was also lacking... My family's reaction was also not great, and we felt embarrassed... To everyone... When choosing a restaurant, look at the entrance area first... A clean entrance area usually means the food is prepared with care... A dirty entrance area suggests the food might be subpar!

I visited once again. We had a farewell party for students with a total of 9 people. We rented out the second floor. We ordered all types of gyoza and even desserts. The 4 hours flew by! We had a great time. I didn't take many photos, but the first dish was mouth-watering and the peanut appetizer was my favorite. I never get tired of this place. The staff, especially the manager, were so accommodating. We made a lot of noise, but they made sure we had a fun time. Thank you so much.

This is my third visit and everything I have tried at Mr. Wei's place is delicious. Although the menu is limited, the dumplings and shumai are the highlights and never get boring. The dumplings taste like the nostalgic flavor from my childhood. The soup noodles at the end are so delicious that I always order them.

A famous Chinese restaurant in Kyoto, "Ichinofune" and "Gaihanyadou," opened a new branch in Karasuma Oike this summer. It's still new and everything is fresh. The menu is limited. It's located along Sakaimachi Street, just down from Anekoji Street. With its standout white walls, it's a place that makes you want to enter. I was told that if you come before 6 p.m., it's happy hour, but it was so crowded that I finally got a seat after 7 p.m. I tried the ginger dumplings, stir-fried greens, and the half-size noodle soup at the end. The desserts are small but tasty. Everything was delicious.

In the midst of the seventh wave with fewer opportunities to go out, I stopped by here. The simmered pig's feet is a great value menu, not too heavy and very tender, truly reminiscent of Taiwanese flavors. The Wei Fan dumplings have more meat compared to store-bought or chain restaurants, juicy and with slightly thicker skin. The portion size is just right. The spicy chicken was also delicious, with a mild level of spiciness that suited my taste. For those who drink, I recommend the boiled dumplings. I always order them at Chinese restaurants, and the thickness of the skin is just right. The atmosphere may not be exactly like a Taiwanese street stall, but the prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes are perfect for solo diners. There was also a lady dining alone. Fortunately, everyone was quiet. Although it was stated that there would be temperature checks upon entry, I did not see anyone, including myself, being checked. The infection prevention measures seem to be relaxed, so if you are concerned, please take this into consideration.

A new restaurant has opened in Karasuma Oike offering 6 types of dumplings and a variety of Taiwanese small dishes to enjoy. This establishment is a sister restaurant to the famous Chinese restaurants, "Ichinosen" and "Wei Fan Yitang," both run by Chef Wei who holds the title of "Top Class Cook" in China. The dishes created by Chef Wei are reasonably priced and the restaurant is already fully booked. Here are some recommended dishes to try: - Wei Fan Dumplings (400 yen): A combination of vegetables and pork with a sweet and garlicky flavor, wrapped in a smooth and chewy skin. - Drooling Chicken (500 yen): Spicy sauce with spices like star anise that goes well with alcohol, tender meat with a generous portion making it worth the 500 yen. - Melting Braised Pork Feet (500 yen): Extremely tender and flavorful, the meat falls apart in your mouth leaving a lingering taste. The staff will cut it for easy consumption. There are many other dishes on the menu that you will want to try as well!

The dumplings and other dishes were very delicious, and the prices were surprisingly low for the amount of food we got. The staff were also very friendly and provided great service with a smile, even though they were busy.
