I happened to pass by this place. At first, I walked past it but then I remembered the crepe photo on the sign and decided to go back. I was lucky because they had the sugar level I wanted. I asked for it without any extra sugar and it was just right in terms of sweetness. The cinnamon was also added perfectly. The crepe itself was delicious! I definitely want to come back again.

I used the morning at 10 o'clock. There were a few customers, but it was very quiet and peaceful. It seems easy to come alone. I had the Salmon Basil Galette, and it was delicious! All the galettes looked delicious, so it took me a while to choose one.

I chose the weekday lunch set. It was my first time trying a galette, and one piece was quite filling. I ordered the dessert crepe imagining the set menu photo, but it was just one example of toppings, so I should have read more carefully before ordering. However, the crepe was chewy and slightly warm, so it was delicious. I could see the preparations for the Gion Festival from my seat, so I had a nice time reading a manga I brought with me!

I had been interested in this place for a while, so I decided to have lunch there around 11:30. There were no customers yet when I arrived. I sat on the second floor. For lunch, I ordered a set menu which included a 300 yen galette, a keyma curry for an additional 200 yen, a crepe with butter and sugar for an extra 100 yen, and today's soup for an additional 300 yen. I also ordered an iced tea. First, I tried today's soup, which was a cold potato soup. It was delicious and rich. The interior of the restaurant was already starting to fill up with reserved seats, and it had a stylish atmosphere. The keyma curry on the galette was surprisingly spicy and flavorful. It may not be the best choice if you want to fully enjoy the galette itself. The taste was good though. The crepe was okay. Overall, it was a nice meal.

Galette and crepe specialty cafe in a Kyoto-style townhouse nestled between buildings♡ I happened to visit alone last time and the galette I had was delicious, so I wanted to go back. This time, I went with my beloved dog because I found out that the terrace seats are dog-friendly. The interior has a calming atmosphere with greenery and wood. The terrace seats were also nice. It was great that dogs are allowed. ◉Complette - The most popular dish, Egg Cheese Grilled Bacon Galette. The combination of the creamy eggs and cheese with the crispy galette was excellent. It was delicious.

The restaurant is often quite crowded, with a mix of Japanese tourists and Western visitors. I tried the Yuba and Prosciutto Galette, which was an unexpected but interesting combination that had a Kyoto touch to it. Personally, I enjoyed the taste. The drink I ordered, a Houjicha Latte, was average (probably made from powder). Overall, I would consider coming back for more.

A stylish cafe in the valley between buildings with a traditional Kyoto townhouse style. The interior has a gentle atmosphere with greenery and wood, creating a calming environment. They also have terrace seating. The galette lunch with asparagus, bacon, eggs, and cheese was delicious, with a perfect combination of creamy texture and the crispy aroma of the galette.

I wanted to eat a galette, so I visited this restaurant, but all the menu items were savory galettes or crepe desserts. I really wanted to try a galette, but they only had crepes for dessert. I was struggling to decide on a menu item when the staff kindly informed me that I could change the dessert to a galette. So I asked for that, but to my surprise, they brought me a crepe instead. I wonder what that thoughtful gesture was all about!? I was so shocked that I don't even remember the taste of the crepe. The place was crowded, being a popular restaurant.

I peeked into the entrance facing Karasuma Street. "Kyoto Nama Yuba and Prosciutto Galette" was featured in the media. The business hours are until 17:00. I thought of it as a simple crepe and had butter, maple syrup, and a hot cafe au lait.

I was seated at my favorite seat at 2pm on a regular day. I ordered a crepe with sugar and maple syrup and a cappuccino for 1100 yen. The crepe was fluffy and delicious. The cute, natural-themed restaurant had classical tableware, which felt a bit out of place (although I also like classical tableware), but I had a relaxing and enjoyable time.

We visited the creperie "MONO MONO CAFE" around 2:00 pm with 2 people. It is located a 3-minute walk from Shijo Subway Station and Hankyu Karasuma Station. The building is a renovated Kyoto townhouse built using old materials from the Meiji era. There are sofa seats on the second floor, providing a relaxed dining environment. The prices listed below are all inclusive of tax. On Saturday at 13:15, we were led to the second floor of MONO MONO CAFE. We were there to adjust our lunch time, so we chose sweet crepes. The Lemon crepe cost 880 yen and the Matcha and cream crepe cost 880 yen. Considering the location, the prices were okay. The crepes arrived at 13:31. We received a limited-time flower topping as a service, making the presentation a bit more elegant. The Lemon crepe was light and refreshing, with lemon sorbet and lemon slices, perfect for a light dessert. The Matcha crepe was rich and sweet, with a strong Kyoto vibe, but a bit too sweet for my taste. The bright and woody interior was relaxing and appealing, with dried flowers scattered around and soft chanson music playing. The lighting was a bit inconsistent, sometimes suddenly dimming, which made us wonder if they were generating power like in "Thermae Romae." Overall, the prices were a bit high, but understandable given the location. I would like to try their galettes next time. Thank you for the meal.

After viewing the cherry blossoms on Kawaramachi Street, I stopped by this crepe and galette shop to take shelter from the rain. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered an ice cream set where I could choose my favorite flavors - hazelnut and strawberry. The shop smelled delicious, like pizza. If I had come for a meal, I would have definitely ordered a galette. Today, despite the cherry blossoms being in full bloom and the streets crowded, it was raining. Shijo Street, with its roofed area, was packed with people trying to avoid the rain. The traffic was chaotic, with cars barely moving even when the traffic lights changed. This area prohibits bicycles, so the sidewalks are safe for pedestrians. If you are renting a bike for sightseeing, be careful as you might get caught by the police.

In between the buildings, there was a stylish Kyoto-style townhouse that caught my eye, so I decided to drop in. The interior of the shop, decorated with houseplants and dried flowers, was also very stylish, and it was filled with girls and couples. Although Arima was alone, he didn't mind and promptly ordered the menu he wanted to try. MONOMONO Lunch - a menu where you can enjoy both galettes and crepes. * Crepes are set with items up to 600 yen, but you can change them for an additional fee. Keyma Curry Galette - truly Instagrammable. The homemade keyma curry with 5 spices has a mild taste with the addition of egg yolk. When combined with the salad dressing, the acidity changes the flavor. The galette, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, was a delicious dish. Grilled Banana with Honey - recommended by the staff. Customize with vanilla bourbon ice cream and caramel sauce topping. Another Instagrammable dish. The chewy and delicious crepe with a gooey grilled banana has a rich caramel sauce and tasty ice cream. It was so delicious that before I knew it, I had finished it all. Uji Matcha Latte - a must-try when in Kyoto. Ah, I ate a lot for lunch. Here's a useful tip: this shop is open from 8 am. You can enjoy a delicious morning in a stylish space, which is quite attractive. With that in mind, I left the shop after almost bursting my stomach with galettes and crepes alone. Thank you for the meal.

I visited around 11:45 on a holiday. There were 4 empty tables on the second floor. - Galette lunch: I chose the Complet for 850 yen. The cheese was delicious, not natural cheese, mozzarella, or cheddar. The egg yolk was creamy and small. - Vegetable consommé soup: Soft eggplant and carrots were plentiful. - Cider cocktail: I added the Bole for 350 yen. It was slightly sweet and delicious, with a strong carbonation.

One day during lunchtime, I visited this crepe specialty store that opened in January this year. The store is located in a traditional Kyoto townhouse nestled between buildings along Karasuma Street. There were various intriguing menu items displayed outside. I was seated at a two-person table on the second floor. I hesitated a bit before ordering the weekday limited "Complete Lunch Set (tax included 1,210 yen)." I started with the set drink, an "Iced Coffee." The antique-style cutlery is quite charming. Here is the set salad and soup of the day. After a short wait, the large "Complete Crepe" arrived. I have had the store's crepes a few times before, but this is the first time trying them at a specialty store. The egg, cheese, and grilled bacon are wrapped in a dough made only of buckwheat flour, salt, and water. I cracked the egg yolk and took a bite. The simple and satisfying taste filled me up more than I expected. It would be delicious to enjoy it with alcohol in the evening. I am now curious about the other menu items and crepes. Thank you for the meal.

Renovated over the course of about a year, this space was transformed from an old electrical store dating back to the Meiji era. Filled with foliage and dried flowers, the atmosphere makes you forget you're in the bustling district of Karasuma. This charming creperie offers a variety of galettes with a unique crispy texture, prepared by a chef from Brittany who trained in a French pastry shop in Tokyo. The galettes are made from buckwheat flour, salt, and water, cooked slowly and topped with cheese, meat, fish, and plenty of vegetables. They also offer meal menu items like the "Galette Complète" with egg, cheese, and grilled bacon, served with daily soup and salad as part of the "Complète Lunch" set for 1100 yen. The fact that they open at 8 am is also a plus point.

Visited in August 2021 with a rating of 3.17 on Tabelog. I tried the Keema Curry for 1,250 yen. The main dish on the lunch menu was a galette, which I wasn't familiar with, and I arrived late. I stumbled upon "MONO MONO CAFE" and decided to try their Keema Curry, which was not available before. The cafe had a stylish atmosphere with seating on both the 1st and 2nd floors, including a terrace. As expected, the clientele was mostly women. They also offered various types of crepes. The Keema Curry was a combination with a galette instead of rice, served with salad. The galette had a moist and chewy texture where it touched the curry, and a crispy texture elsewhere, making it delicious. The curry had a subtle spiciness and occasional hints of cheese, with chickpeas in the salad. Overall, the flavors were well-balanced and enjoyable, though the price was a bit high for a single dish.

I had been curious about this place for a while, so I went there for tea. I ate a lot and had a good time. The second floor of the Kyoto machiya looks cute from the outside, but inside it was surprisingly ordinary. The galette was crispy and delicious, and the staff were kind. The crepes also looked delicious.

Today I had my second meeting at Karasuma for our company's product. This time, the sales director's daughter accompanied us. We had some free time so we went for breakfast. The restaurant had a wood-based interior and we sat on the spacious and bright second floor. I ordered the Galette Style for 880 yen, which came with crispy bacon, tomato, and a sunny-side-up egg on a crunchy yet soft crepe. The flavor of the crepe was great, with a nice mix of crispy and chewy textures. The coffee was just right, with a strong aroma. I also ordered the Crepe Style for 660 yen, which came with grapefruit juice, a crepe with ice cream, ice banana, and strawberry toppings. The crepe was soft and delicious. It was a great way to start the day with a boost of energy. Thank you for the meal!
