Ramen CIQUE @Nishi-Asagaya Station in Suginami Ward, Tokyo
Menu: Salt Ramen with Flavored Egg for 1000 yen
This hidden gem has been selected as one of the top 100 ramen shops in Tokyo for many years, but it's known for refusing interviews, so it doesn't get much attention. I visited just before closing time and was able to enter without waiting in line.
If you're familiar with CIQUE's ramen, you'll understand what I mean when you see my photo. This shop is famous for its grilled tomato topping, which is a unique and delicious addition that you must try.
Although I forgot to add the grilled tomato this time, the soup was still incredibly delicious. It has a refined yet rich flavor with a good balance of saltiness. The whole wheat noodles complement the soup well, and the fried tofu adds a nice depth of flavor.
I completely forgot about the grilled tomato topping, but it's a must-try for enhancing the soup's flavor and adding a beautiful color to the dish. I'll definitely remember to order it next time.
Make sure to give yourself plenty of time when visiting this shop. I'll be back again soon. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

A ramen shop located about a 10-minute walk from Minamiasagaya Station on the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line, facing a main street. It is said to have maintained its popularity for many years. This time, I ordered the "shio ramen" and asked for extra noodles. The soup and noodles don't have a strong appeal, but there is a comforting deliciousness that makes you want to keep eating. The toppings, including the slightly modest chashu, menma, and spinach, served as perfect complements. The small piece of kanseifu that I saved until the end absorbed the soup well and was exquisite. The fu, thank you for the meal.

On the 193rd bowl in 2023! Salt ramen with black flavored egg (soy sauce flavor). For the third stop of the day, I took a bus from Hamadayama Station for ¥100 and walked from the nearby stop to visit this place. The exterior and interior have a stylish cafe-like atmosphere, very calming, but the BGM was a bit loud haha. I arrived around 1:40 PM and there was only one other customer, so the owner was running the place alone but the ramen was served quickly. The bowl had a unique shape! The noodles were thin straight noodles with whole grain flour from Mikawa-ya Seimen. They were a bit firm! The weekday lunchtime free upgrade to large size is a great deal. The soup was chicken-based with kombu and other ingredients, very flavorful and delicious! The chashu was tender and had a good presence, with two slices providing a satisfying taste (((o(*゚▽゚*)o))). I chose the black flavored egg, known for its soy sauce flavor, and it was perfectly runny and had just the right richness, very high quality! The addition of wheat gluten to the ramen reminded me of the ramen I had in Hakodate at "Ajisai", but it goes well with salt ramen \(^o^)/ The green onions added a nice touch!

Located quietly along the Ome Kaido Street in Asagaya, Suginami-ku, this hidden gem boasts a rich and flavorful chicken broth that is simply outstanding! The tender pork shoulder chashu is also delicious! Personally, I really liked the thin noodles. This restaurant has definitely made it onto my list of places to visit again!

The soup, which you can feel the sweetness of vegetables, the umami of seafood, and the Mongolian rock salt, was gentle and reminiscent of cabbage roll soup, especially when combined with the grilled tomato topping. The whole wheat thin curly noodles mix well with the soup. The chashu was incredibly tender and you could also taste the spiciness of the spices. Yuzu pepper, garlic, and shichimi are available on the table, allowing you to enjoy flavor variations.

I have been curious about this place for a while and finally visited. I arrived at 11:50 and was the first in line. The shop opened a little after 12. There are only 6 seats at the counter and it is run by a single person. About 25 minutes after opening, it was full. I ordered the salt ramen with a seasoned egg (salt flavor). The salt flavor was distinct and I really liked it. I finished it in no time. Next time, I want to try the soy sauce ramen as well. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I accidentally opened Tabelog while on the Chuo Line and ended up getting off midway. It's true that once you open it, you're done for. I walked from Asagaya to this restaurant. I arrived before the evening rush, and there were already 2 people waiting with 5 more behind. I ordered the special salt ramen with grilled tomato topping. Saying it was light would be an understatement. It had a very complex flavor that was truly satisfying. It was worth walking in the heat. After this, I walked to Ogikubo, but Asagaya is definitely much closer.

I arrived 3 minutes before the restaurant opened on a holiday, there were about 2 people waiting, waited for about 7 minutes before entering. There were about 10 people lined up at opening time. This was my 8th visit in 2 months. The taste of the soy sauce ramen has changed, so from now on, I will only eat the salt ramen. I ordered the salt ramen with a salted egg topping for 1120 yen, which is an appropriate price. It arrived in about 15 minutes and included finely sliced bamboo shoots, white onions, spinach, seaweed, pork loin chashu, wheat gluten, and a salted egg. The salt soup has a consistently delicate and delicious flavor, reminiscent of rock salt with a unique sweetness at the end. The noodles are curly thin noodles, surprisingly generous in quantity, with a good coating of salt sauce. The high-quality taste of the salted egg and chashu is consistent. I will visit at least one more time before moving, especially when I haven't eaten anything rich the day before or skipped breakfast, as these are the minimum conditions to fully appreciate the delicate flavors of this ramen place.

Arrived at RAMEN CiQUE in Minami-Asagaya at 18:53. Ordered the Salt Ramen for 920 yen with an additional topping of grilled tomato for 160 yen, with less noodles. The noodles were thin and curly, made with whole grain flour which was a unique combination. They had a nice wheat aroma and complemented the subtle saltiness of the ramen well. The soup had a decent level of saltiness and a gentle dashi flavor, but I felt it needed a little something extra to make it stand out more. The chashu was well-seasoned with a strong flavor and a tender texture. The fried tofu felt a bit overpowering as an ingredient and didn't add much value to the dish. The bamboo shoots and green onions were average, while the spinach was crisp and tasty. The grilled tomato, which I was eager to try, surprisingly paired well with the salt ramen. It had a barbecue-like flavor, a good texture, and added a nice touch to the mild soup. While the taste may have once been a classic, it now feels a bit lacking in today's standards. Some improvements could make it even better.

Asagaya ramen shop. Visited during lunchtime. ~Order~ Salt Ramen 920 yen The golden clear soup has a subtle blend of chicken and seafood umami, with a hint of sweetness from vegetables. The salt ties all these flavors together. The noodles are very thin, made with whole wheat flour and slightly wavy. They were cooked a bit soft for my preference, I would have liked a firmer texture. Toppings include tender thick slices of chashu, fried tofu, seaweed, green onions, very thin bamboo shoots, and greens. All of them complemented the soup well. Despite the slightly disappointing noodle texture, there is no doubt that this is a high-level salt ramen. Recommended for salt ramen lovers. Thank you for the meal.

I finally made it to RAMEN CiQUE, which has been on my must-visit list for a while! I ordered the salt ramen for ¥920, two slices of chashu for ¥120 each, a black flavored egg for ¥120, and multi-grain rice for ¥160, bringing the total to ¥1,440. I arrived right at 12:00 on Wednesday and managed to secure the 6th seat at the counter, just in time for the first round! They were able to accommodate around 3 more people waiting in the sofa seats inside. The soup had a complex blend of flavors (chicken? kelp? shellfish?), which I, as a ramen enthusiast, found incredibly delicious. It was both refreshing and rich in taste, and the lunch portion came with a free large serving, so I left with a full stomach! I really enjoyed it! Next time, I would like to try it with the topping of grilled tomato and butter! It seemed like the owner was running the place alone, and the change machine appeared to be out of order, so it's best to have ¥1,000 bills ready! Thank you for the meal!

Salt ramen with black flavored egg and butter for 1,160 yen.
The default is salt flavor. Ordered with butter to add richness. The soup has a slightly subdued saltiness, allowing the ingredients to shine through. The richness from the butter adds to the amazing umami flavor. The thin curly noodles are cooked slightly soft by default, which pairs well with the soup. The chashu and flavored egg had a hint of star anise aroma. I regret not adding roasted tomato. Despite the hot weather, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Visited for lunch on a scorching Saturday afternoon. Made a big mistake by getting the reservation date for the tonkatsu restaurant wrong by a week, but ended up at this famous place. Ordered plenty of salt ramen and soy sauce ramen, and then two rice bowls. It might have been a good thing that I got the reservation date wrong, as this restaurant was so good.

The salt ramen with rich broth was delicious! The chashu was tender and tasty! I visited for dinner. The location is about a 10-minute walk from Minamiasagaya Station on the Marunouchi Subway Line. The shop is located along the main street, but it's quite a distance. I tried to visit during the Corona period, but they were closed... Finally got to eat on my second visit. There was no wait, and there were only 3 customers ahead of me. The shop was being run by one person. I ordered the salt ramen for 920 yen and an extra seasoned egg for 120 yen. It was served in about 5 minutes. [Visual] It was a standard salt ramen with plenty of toppings. [Soup] First sip... delicious! The broth was rich and tasty! After drinking the soup, I could taste a unique flavor that I had never experienced before... It was light and delicious. A soup that I could finish completely because it was so tasty. [Noodles] Whole wheat noodles. Quite soft. Personally, I prefer noodles with more chewiness... [Chashu] The chashu was so tender that it crumbled easily. Delicious. [Seasoned Egg] A salt-seasoned seasoned egg. Lightly flavored and tasty. My overall impression after finishing the meal was that the salt ramen with rich broth was delicious. It was a simple salt ramen, but the richness of the broth and the tenderness of the chashu were incredibly tasty. The owner seemed energetic, which was good considering the challenges of aging and the difficult preparation process, especially with the change in soy sauce broth. The owner was doing well. I was a bit worried about the one-person operation, as they had to move around like a spinning top. I enjoyed the delicious meal!

This time, I visited RAMEN CiQUE, a restaurant located on Ome Street, walking straight from Minami Asagaya towards Ome direction. The last time I came here, they were closed, so I took a chance this time and luckily they were open. It can be a bit challenging to visit without using social media, as there is always a bit of uncertainty. The owner was running the shop alone, so it was understandable.
Now, let's talk about the ramen. The soup was a clear broth made from chicken bones with the flavors of aromatic vegetables, kombu, and dried fish. It was a beautiful and flavorful light soup with depth. The noodles were ultra-thin whole wheat curly noodles, reminiscent of pasta, and paired well with the soup, giving a hint of eating aglio e olio. Adding garlic from the table turned it into a complete aglio e olio, while seaweed added a sea flavor, white negi and yuzu pepper added a refreshing and fragrant touch, changing the impression of the dish.
The toppings added an Italian flair to the ramen. The wheat gluten soaked up the flavorful soup well, the char siu was tender and likely seasoned with white wine. I tried both the white and black seasoned eggs for comparison. The black seasoned egg had a strong soy sauce flavor that paired well with the ramen, while the white seasoned egg had a unique white wine flavor that was uncommon for ramen toppings. The grilled tomato was sweet and concentrated from being cooked in the oven and soaked in the ramen broth.
Overall, this ramen had a unique Italian vibe to it, with a mix of flavors and atmosphere that made it stand out. I look forward to trying their double soup soy sauce ramen next time.

Soy sauce ramen 920 yen, flavored egg 120 yen, total 1040 yen. It had a very gentle and nostalgic taste, like something from the past. The chashu had a unique spicy flavor, almost like star anise. There were many women at the ramen shop. I had a very kind bowl of ramen.

The soup is salt-based but has a rich chicken flavor
The noodles are extremely thin, but still have a great taste
The chashu pork, both belly and roast, are tender and delicious
Lastly, the seaweed and flavored egg are a nice touch
Thank you for the meal!

I visited CIQUE after a long time. There were 6-7 people waiting ahead of me, but I was able to be seated without waiting too long. The cafe-style interior is a nice atmosphere. The drink served to me looked stylish. When I took a sip of the soup, it was salty yet sweet. The sweetness of various ingredients is fully brought out, which is why it tastes so delicious. Therefore, the salt doesn't feel overpowering. It's a wonderful dish that can only be achieved with a sense of taste. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at 1:00 on a regular day and they made my order a large size for free. I added grilled tomatoes as an extra topping, but I think it would have been fine even without it. This is definitely my kind of taste. The soup was refreshing yet flavorful. It paired well with the noodles and was slurp-worthy.
