Today I worked at Toji Temple, and for lunch, I went to a restaurant near Toji Temple Station recommended by a colleague called Kathmandu Dining and Bar. Despite the name suggesting Nepalese cuisine, the menu actually seemed to focus on Indian food. I ordered a business lunch set which came with salad, curry, and naan. The food arrived quickly, within about 5 minutes. The salad had the typical orange dressing and was vegetable-based. The plain naan was freshly baked and delicious. The curry seemed to have a lot of beans, so I wondered if it was a bean curry. I accidentally ordered without checking the daily curry special, but it turned out to be just the right level of spiciness and very tasty. The curry portion was generous, so I hesitated about getting more naan, but since there was no information about naan refills on the lunch menu, I decided against it. After enjoying the special viewing of "Kikyo" at the sub-temple "Tendo-in" of Toji Temple, we had lunch at a restaurant that turned out to be a great find! The exterior of the restaurant may seem a bit difficult to enter, but once inside, the cozy atmosphere makes up for it. The menu offers reasonably priced lunch and dinner options. We chose the "Business Lunch" for 750 yen, which included the daily curry with potato keema. My companion opted for the "A Lunch" for 900 yen, which came with chicken curry. Both sets included salad and naan. We also ordered the "Tandoori Chicken Wings" for 300 yen as a side dish. For drinks, we had a bottle of "Nepal Beer" for 550 yen. The salad was simple and refreshing with a classic carrot dressing. The naan was fluffy and slightly sweet, a perfect accompaniment to the flavorful curries. The potato keema curry was mildly spicy, while the chicken curry was sweet and both had a nice balance of flavors. The tandoori chicken wings were delicious, and we also ordered the "Seekh Kebab" for 400 yen, which was spicy and satisfying. We enjoyed a glass of wine for 300 yen and a Singaporean beer for 600 yen. For dessert, we had a refreshing yogurt dessert for 550 yen and a rich Kulfi for 500 yen. The chai tea for 290 yen was a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience with a good selection of Indian and Nepalese dishes. The atmosphere was a bit intimidating, but we decided to go in. We were curious about Indian-style yakisoba. We ordered beer, tandoori chicken, and butter chicken curry and shared them between two people. The yakisoba had a unique flavor that I had never tasted before, and the chunks of pork in it provided a satisfying chew. The tandoori chicken looked impressive but had a mild flavor. The curry had a choice of spiciness levels, and we went with medium, which turned out slightly sweet. The set came with delicious naan bread. We're planning to try two curries and three naans next time.

I then dipped the naan in the curry and it was also delicious. The curry had a good balance of spices and depth of flavor, even though it was a bit spicy. I could handle the level of spiciness at 5. The naan was quite large, so it filled me up quickly. I wasn't sure if I could handle a refill of naan.

The inside of the shop was difficult to see, making me hesitate to enter. The lunch menu was extensive, with a clean interior atmosphere with a foreign feel. The staff alternated between Japanese and English when serving customers. The B lunch set for 1000 yen included chicken curry, daily curry (with egg and minced meat), naan, rice, chicken tikka, salad, and a drink. All of this for only 1000 yen! It seemed so cheap, I was worried if it was okay. The curry bowls looked small but were very satisfying and filling! I chose the normal level of spiciness, which was actually quite sweet, so next time I'll try a spicier option. The chicken tikka had a unique flavor, different from tandoori chicken, with a hint of charcoal grilling. The salad dressing was tangy and delicious, maybe made with grated carrots? The naan was freshly baked in a tandoor, crispy, fluffy, sweet, and tasty. It took some time for the food to be served, but I could tell they were preparing it fresh after receiving the order. The smell of the dishes being prepared for Indian customers who came in later was amazing, and I still want to try more of their dishes.

I like the gentle flavors here and I often visit. I wanted to try two types of curry, so I ordered the B lunch set, but I always end up feeling too full and uncomfortable. When I asked for it without rice, they kindly made a thin, crispy rice cracker-like substitute. Their hospitality is excellent.

I ordered curry rice after looking at the menu, but what came out was curry naan. I asked for curry rice and ate it. The taste was good.

You could choose between the daily special or chicken, and I chose chicken. It was just the right level of spiciness for me, as I love spicy food and have been finding it hard to sweat in the cold weather lately. I wouldn't recommend it to those who don't like spicy food. The cream sauce on the curry matched the spiciness perfectly! ●Regarding the staff● There was a different staff member today. They were polite and provided good explanations. ●Other● My evaluation is the same as on other pages. I would like to visit again when I'm in the area!

The Dal Curry (lentil curry) had a good amount of lentils, about the size of the container that holds the rice. The spicy spices and the texture of the lentils were a good combination. The Tarkari was made with potatoes. This lunch seemed to focus on grains. I got full quickly and ended up leaving about 1/3 of the naan. ●Staff● Today, there was a Nepali woman working. She was friendly and had a cheerful demeanor. When I asked about the curry, she told me about how Nepali families use different spices to make various curries and how much lentils are used to make Dal Curry. ●Overall● I agree with the reviews on other pages. I would like to visit again!

Naan and rice were served, but I prefer to eat them separately.●Regarding the staff●When I showed a Nepalese waiter my coupon for a 50 yen discount, he took my phone to the register and took a while to return. When I asked for my phone back, he had actually taken a highball for me. At the register, I was charged the regular price, so when I asked for the discount, I was handed a flyer. When I pointed out the mistake, a cook quickly came out and resolved the issue. I felt that communication in Japanese was difficult, but I didn't have a negative impression.●Other●The curry was really delicious, so if I have the chance to go nearby again, I would like to visit the restaurant!

The Nepalese men cooked the food, while the Japanese woman took orders. The woman had a strong and fast-paced tone when explaining today's lunch options, which made it hard to understand. It would be better if they spoke more calmly and kindly or wrote it on a board for customers to see. When they brought the food, they placed the menu on the table and fixed it without asking, which made me feel uncomfortable. Also, I think they should reduce their chatter when customers are present. ●Others● There is a coupon available online for a 50 yen discount on lunch. Takeout is also an option, and you can take home any uneaten curry or naan. The containers are provided for free. The restaurant has a child-friendly atmosphere and is conveniently located near the station. Despite the delicious food, it's a shame that there weren't more customers.
